number rounded to nearest 500

also try to round a number to the nearest 500

This range of numbers is 1 in 1 million.

I looked into the ceiling, but I don't think he can do what I need.
I tried using len() and cfset to separate the number and dynamically increase/reduction to meet my needs, but who is not reliable enough.

Finally I tried a cfif statement woriing on digital beaches up straight, but I'm an overload of the if statement.

Any ideas on a solution of simple coding for it? I just want to watch a number between 1 and 1 million and around her listening to 500 or 100.

Try this code, where NearestNo must be set to some 'closest value' you want.

  • Round the number to the nearest million

    Hi all
    I have numbers like $1000000, $12000000, $13989098 on my report.

    Now the requirment is I want to see these numbers to round to the nearest million.

    for example:

    1) $1000000 should be listed as $1.00 M
    2) $12000000 must appear as $12.00 M
    (3) $ must be 13989098 $13.98 M

    Please suggest me a way to get the thing working above.

    Thanks in advance...

    You can use something like the formula below:

    CONCAT (CAST ("Table name".- ("(" Column name "/ 100000 as TANK (100)), am")

  • Question about the BOROUGH a number to the nearest quarter

    Hi all

    Please forgive me if I am not posting this at the appropriate place, but I do not know what area he could enter (script, Javascript, Designer...) and the Acrobat Scripting forum seemed as good one place as any.

    I have the field that allows a user to enter a number with 2 decimal places 2-digit. (i.e. 12.30 or 9.78 until 24.00.) This field corresponds to the hours in a day). What I would like is to "round" the quarter of an hour. As an example, if a person enters:

    22.15 - the field would round up to 22.25

    9.78 - the field would round down to 9.75

    12.10 - the field would round down to 12:00

    .15 - would round up a.25

    .96 - would turn to 1.00

    .01 a.24 - would round up a.25

    Essentially, any number that they take place in this field (until 24:00) would be around in an appropriate manner.

    I looked at the ROUNDING FormCalc function and DATE / hour, but it doesn't look like one of those that would allow me to do what I have to do. I guess, that it should be in JavaScript, but yet again, I'm not sure.

    If someone can point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated, and if all goes well, I explained to him what I want to do it properly.

    Jon

    Here is an example of code that I wrote to round a number (x) to the nearest quarter (nouveaux_x):

    var x = 22.15;
    var rounded_x = Math.floor (x);
    var x_nouveaux;

    If (x-rounded_x<=0.125) new_x="rounded_x;" 0="" -="" 0.125="" round="" down="" to="">
    ElseIf (x-rounded_x<=0.375) new_x="rounded_x+0.25;" 0.125="" -="" 0.375="" round="" to="">
    ElseIf (x-rounded_x<=0.625) new_x="rounded_x+0.5;" 0.375="" -="" 0.625="" round="" to="">
    ElseIf (x-rounded_x<=0.875) new_x="rounded_x+0.75;" 0.625="" -="" 0.875="" round="" to="">
    else x_nouveaux = rounded_x + 1; 0,875 - 1,00 round up to 1

    Edit: improved code...

  • oracle.jbo.domain.Number, round() method to change the type of data returned?

    Hi all

    When I tried to round the value to oracle.jbo.domain.Number, it returns data of type oracle.sql.Number. Please see the following code snippet:

    Number unitPrice = new Number (9.95);

    Number of numOfRet = new Number (5);

    Total = (unitPrice.multiply (numOfRet)) .multiply (1.05) .round (2);

    The third line can not compile because the round() method returns a data type of oracle.sql.Number, which generates the compile error. If I put a guy up there, it works. When I checked the javadoc, the method has a number of return type. But it says in the details of the description of the method, it returns a Java int. Can I ask is there something wrong here? You can find the javadoc here: number (Oracle ADF business components API Reference 10.1.2 areas)

    Thank you

    Sheet

    Order to understand, the problem is that the round() method returns a number, but a NUMBER data type.

    NUMBER public tour (int decimal_place)

    Therefore, cast to the number.

  • Convert number rounded to two decimals

    Hi all

    I have a number of dice 156 in a column with number (10.2);

    but I want update in 156.00...

    Can be simple, but how?

    Edited by: 887268 may 29, 2012 10:04

    Hello

    156
    156,00
    156.0000000000000 and
    00000156.0000 are all the same NUMBER. There is nothing to convert.

    If you want to display a NUMBER in some way (for example, with 2 digits after the decimal point) and then use TO_CHAR or have your front end format the column. In SQL * Plus, for example, you can use the COLUMN command:

    COLUMN   sal     FORMAT  99999.99

    SELECT  ename
    ,       sal
    FROM    scott.emp
    ;

    Output:

    ENAME            SAL
    ---------- ---------
    SMITH         800.00
    ALLEN        1600.00
    WARD         1250.00

  • Avoiding rounding to nearest 0.1 GB when the disc was created?

    Hi once again, last question for now.  I am running VMware Workstation 6.5.1 Windows XP host.

    I can create a "virtual hard drive" for my guest in VMware, but only to the 0.1 GB closest.

    Is there a way to specify a size that is most accurate?  When I tried this, my closest entrance Go 0.1 complete user interface, truncating the extra decimals.

    It's too bad, because I'm trying to specify an exact size.  Specifically, I'm trying exactly match a USB key, which claims to be 4 GB but isn't really.  It is slightly less than 4 GB.  It's somewhere between 3.7 and 3.8 GB.  This mismatch between the size of the virtual disk in VMware and the size of the USB causing problems when I try to deploy later image of my virtual drive on a real USB.

    I'd like to be able to specify an exact number of sectors of the disk.  In the file master *.vmdk appearing, I see that this indictment is embedded in the file.  However, there are also a few extra digits in the file I don't understand not the goal, so I'm hesitant to edit this file directly.

    Y at - it a command line tool that can be used to do this?

    It's a shame that the UI VMware imposes this unnecessary restriction.

    Thank you!

    Josh

    Use vmware-vdiskmanager - you can specify the size in GB, MB, KB or sectors

  • I need to round up a formula a.5

    I'm working on a formula that calculates the total for a review to a percentage.  They want the overall score to round to the nearest le.5.  It is pretty basic formulas.  Here is an example

    First section is GA40 (section with a value of 40%)

    Section two is CCR (section with a value of 60%)

    Overall score is the total of GA40 more CCR but flare at un.5

    The formula of the excel worksheet looks like this: = MROUND (E55 * 0.4 + E65 * 0.6, 0.5)

    I think that you are rounding up the result of a formula to the nearest multiple.

    I believe that the following script will do the task:

    function GetField (cName) {}
    get the field with error chdecking object;
    oField var = this.getField (cName);
    if(oField == null) app.alert ("field of error for access to the"+ cName, 1, 0 ");
    return oField;
    }

    MRound (value, number) {} function
    Returns a number rounded to the most desired multiple.
    return Math.floor(nValue / nNumber) * number;
    }

    var oE55 = GetField ("GA40");
    var oE65 = GetField ("CCR");
    Event.Value = MRound (oE55.value * 0.4 + oE65.value * 0.6, 0.5)

    You will need to adjust the names of the fields as necessary.

  • Click the mouse generate number

    I'm doing a mouse event that return a random number of a dynamic text box...

    When I publish the function that generates the numbers works

    but when I call the function with the click of the mouse, it doesn't work.

    Could someone help me?

    Tnks!

    var resultado:Number=sorteio();

    function sorteio (): number

    {

    return Math.round (Math.random () * 500);

    }

    sorteio();

    sorteio_txt. Text = String (result);

    my_btn.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);

    function onClick(e:MouseEvent):void

    {

    sorteio();

    }

    To change your original code the less you can replace the sortio with this function. It assigns the new random number to the result variable and then assigns result to the text field.

    function sorteio (): number

    {

    Resultado = Math.round (Math.random () * 500);

    sorteio_txt. Text = resultado.toString ();

    return result;

    }

    kglad solution is also very good and works.

    In your example, you want a version string of random number. A good design would be keep your variable result recorded under a number and convert it to a string only when you need to display in a text field. In this version, you have result recorded under a variable number and each method does its thing. Everything is a bit more decoupled.

    var resultado:Number;

    sorteio();

    displayResultado();

    my_btn.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);

    function sorteio (): void

    {

    Resultado = Math.round (Math.random () * 500);

    }

    function displayResultado (): void

    {

    sorteio_txt. Text = resultado.toString ();

    }

    function onClick(e:MouseEvent):void

    {

    sorteio();

    displayResultado();

    }

  • How to get figure to the nearest penny?

    I want to calculate the average cost of holiday and then round this number to the nearest cent (or two decimal places). Here is my code to find the average.
    select      avg(IT220_HOLIDAYDETAILS.HOLCOST) as "HOLCOST"
     from      "IT220_HOLIDAYDETAILS" "IT220_HOLIDAYDETAILS"
    It works fine, but the result is 1201.3333333333333

    I tried to use the rounded, but he did that take all decimals off of all. I want to round to two decimal places, is there a way to do this?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Jay

    You need this...

    select      round(avg(IT220_HOLIDAYDETAILS.HOLCOST),2) as "HOLCOST"
     from      "IT220_HOLIDAYDETAILS" "IT220_HOLIDAYDETAILS"

    Either this...

    select      to_char(avg(IT220_HOLIDAYDETAILS.HOLCOST),'9999.99') as "HOLCOST"
     from      "IT220_HOLIDAYDETAILS" "IT220_HOLIDAYDETAILS"

    Caveat even as my previous posting on the use of the TO_CHAR version.

  • Table of functions and direct requests for NUMBER data types database

    Hello. I call a number of functions table of our Enterprise BI server, and I chose to do this by using direct database requests (I believe you can also call functions table in the physical layer of the repository, but is not what I do). The problem is that whenever I go back any number of the table function which is not a whole number (1.23, for example), BI assigns the INTEGER data type to the field rather than the data type DOUBLE, rounded so my number to the nearest integer. Here is a short example:

    Create these 3 database objects:

    CREATE or REPLACE TYPE my_row AS OBJECT (my_num NUMBER);

    CREATE or REPLACE TYPE my_tab AS TABLE OF THE my_row;

    FUNCTION to CREATE or REPLACE my_table_function RETURN my_tab
    PIPELINED IS
    BEGIN
    PIPE ROW (my_row (1.23));
    END;
    /

    Make this your request at your request Direct to database:

    SELECT my_num FROM table (my_table_function);

    This query returns correctly '1.23' when it is called from the database. In BI, on the other hand, it returns a value of '1' (and the field of labels an INTEGER rather than data type DOUBLE). If at the request of data Direct you change column properties-> data-> decimal from 0 to 2 Format, then it displays is not surprising "1.00". I then tried to change MY_ROW. Data type of MY_NUM by explicitly specifying the precision and no luck. BI still labels this field as an INTEGER. Then I started to try to deceive BI massaging the SQL statement itself. None of the following worked:

    SELECT to_number (my_num) as my_num2 FROM table (my_table_function);
    SELECT my_num2 + 0.01 as my_num3 FROM (SELECT my_num - 0.01 AS my_num2 FROM table (my_table_function));
    SELECT to_number (to_char (my_num)) as my_num2 FROM table (my_table_function);
    SELECT to_number (substr (to_char ('x' | my_num), 2)) as my_num2 FROM table (my_table_function);

    Now, I found a solution, but I'm surprised that I have to resort to that:

    SELECT * FROM (SELECT / * + NO_MERGE * / table my_num (my_table_function));

    Is anyone out there knows a better way to do it? The above is a hack in my opinion. :)

    Thanks in advance for any input.

    -Jim

    Yes, it's really amazing.
    But I got it.

    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE my_row AS OBJECT (my_num NUMBER(10,2));

    and in your SQL:

    SELECT cast(my_num as double precision) as my_num2 FROM table(my_table_function);

    I have the good result and I see the numbers after the decimal point.
    Very delicate!

  • Search for the nearest value table

    IM wondering if its possible to find a 1 d table worth, if it is not found, then find the nearest match. IM using the 'double' data type and I need at least an accuracy of 4 decimal point in the research.

    For now, im rounding decimal values to the nearest integers from you, but it is not effective at all. Im getting a lot of unwanted split in the plot. I need to be able to search for the decimal points. I found this function "About Equals.VI" starting from a previous thread. Even that uses the concept of the rounding.

    I enclose 3 screws "0.8 & 0.4.VI" are that I created, rounding decimals nearest digit.

    The "approximately equal" is the one I found online.

    The 3rd is I try to mess with what I can find as close a match.

    Y at - it a trick to work around this problem?

    Thank you

    Eureka

    This VI uses the first type of step 3 in your data.  Since you said that you can get the data, you can drop the in VI.

    At the end where I calculate the slope, you can use a linear adjustment if you have full or professional LabVIEW.

  • Custom number format function does not return 0 in decimal form

    Hello

    My custom number formatting feature does not work. It was working fine when the site has a standard client server architecture. However, when we changed using the REST API with javascript and HTML 5 function works for most except in cases when I need it displays 0 for decimal numbers.

    Basically, the function accepts arguments a number and the number of decimals and returns the number rounded the number of decimals. Below, I've stripped naked function minimum, even I was testing.

    < cffunction = "dispCostPeriod" access = "remote" returntype = "string" output = "false" hint = "name costs for a specified period at the user" >

    < name cfargument = "in_decCost" type = "numeric" required = "yes" / >

    < name cfargument = "in_iRound" type = "numeric" required = "yes" / >

    < cfset decRoundedNum = NumberFormat (in_decCost, "_" & RepeatString("9",in_iRound)) >

    < cfreturn decRoundedNum / >

    < / cffunction >

    When I pass 55.00089 and 3, the function returns 55.001.

    When I was 55 or 55.000000 or 55.0000089 and 3, the function returns 55

    . And I need to 55,000.

    I tried both for returntype 'string' and 'digital', various masks as _.999, _.000, _. ___.

    I tried NumberFormat (in_decCost, "_.000") straight back.

    Nothing works.

    I use CF10 on Windows Server 2008.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Can you explain how the data gets into the browser as a JSON string format?

  • Numbers/Currencys rounded and decimal, etc.

    Hello
    I have the following values in Siebel:

    €201,88
    €260,10
    €6.01
    €252,45

    The result desired here is that BI Publisher displays these exactly as Siebel.
    In addition, I suppose that if we no. cents at the end, it should display, 00

    When to just display the name of the field, we had problems, such as:
    -Wrong number of decimal places shown.
    -Symbol of the euro not displayed. (This I fixed to hardcode simply the EURO symbol in the rtf).
    -No 'rounding' values correctly.

    Looking around, I found xml, and managed to do it work somehow, the XSL language is:

    <? format-number (round ((100 * translate (ItemPrice, ",","")) div 1000), "" ")? >

    I tried different things as the last parameter, such as # or 00 or something.

    In any case the underlying theory to the above is:
    -Remove commas from the ItemPrice (function definition).
    -Times it by 100 and round the result.
    - Then divide by 1000
    -format in a certain way.

    The values obtained on the report are:
    €20 188
    €260
    €601 163
    €2 525

    I noticed in writing that we are * per 100, but perhaps * by 1000 and changed the xsl as follows:
    <? format-number (round ((1000 * translate (ItemPrice, ",","")) div 1000), "#, #.") 00')? >
    That gives the following result
    201 875,0
    € 0
    2 €601,00
    6 011 625
    €00
    25 245.00

    I also tried 100 on each side:
    201 875,0
    € 0
    2 €601,00
    6 011 625
    €00
    25 245.00

    Does anyone know how to get the correct result:

    €201,88
    €260,10
    €6.01
    €252,45

    Two step process:
    1 set the format: * ++ *.
    2. use the format: * ++ *.

    Hello friends

    I m new to the Teststand. I have interest to learn the test bench and I know Somwhat.I of LabVIEW initialize the people of the country as a whole and pass it to the local population another it is an actual integer. The value is in variable value. For example I m dividing a number IE result 53/10. should 5.3, but I need only the integer only 5. I get when I changed the format in the locals, but it passes to another integer real loclas it shows like value of 5.3. How to convert.

    First TestStand supports only a single type of digital data and it's a float.

    So you can't convert entire TestStand, but you can round the number to an entire integer.

    Round (53/10.0)

    Number Round (Number number Number option = 0)
    This function rounds a number to an integer.
    Parameter 1: The number to be rounded.
    Parameter 2: An optional parameter: how to round.
        Pass 0 to rounds to zero (the default).
    Pass 1 to round away from zero.
    Go 2 to round towards positive infinity.
    Spend 3 to round towards negative infinity.
    Go 4 to round to the nearest integer. If the number is exactly between two numbers, rounded up to the nearest even integer.
    Returns: The number is rounded.
