  Personally, I use MX - 4 because it is non-conductive nature. As mentioned AS5 is also good. Does seem to be significantly better than the stock however dough.

  If it's any consolation, I ran my W520 at 95 c for long periods of time, and everything still seems to work.

  Enter in TPFanControl INI and set ManModeExit to something higher then it stop jumping in the smart Mode. You can also use the 64 fan speed to operate the fan at a higher level without papers.

  Former HP PC are very ticklish with DIMMs.  NAPA motherboard isn't spec'd for the DIMMs to 4 GB.  See the image below.

  

  The E8xxx Wolfdale would be a good choice for a processor upgrade.  Search the E8400 or E8600.

  I got a shock a week ago... Windows won't load and repair and recovery 4 commissioning. Ok... I tried Startup Repair tool because it seemed reasonable... It worked. Sort of.

  My version of Windows is enabled is no more, and even more annoyingly, because the key has already been activated Windows refuses to accept the current key!

  Now, Windows tells me I have the rest of today to activate... I gave in after that system restore has failed so that it starts every time and used R + R4 and tried to "restore to the factory. Which failed.

  That may have to do with the fact that I created my restore disks... However, I can not really on for about another week and a half restore disks, these are my holidays.

  I desperately need to keep my system intact, it is my lifeline. I live on an isolated island and this is my only form of communication with everyone, as being the main thing that I use for work or school.

  Well, after spending some time on the ' net and pouring through hundreds of sites I came upwards with a fix "semi".

  I said I have type in a 'new' key when Vista application be activated first and the type of the key on the bottom of my computer.

  It works! Vista activated!

  Now however in the lower left corner of the screen there is a warning.

• Need of advice, the GPU upgrade and power

  Since this is my first post here I would start by saying hello to everyone. I recently bought an HP Elite M9400t Core 2 Duo Quad 2.5 GHz. It came with 4 GB of ram and an its Soundblaster wireless Xtreme pci-e card but unfortunately only came with an Nvidia 9300 GE, which is more or less a rebadged Nvidia 8400. I would like to know what are my options for the upgrade. I would like to upgrade a 680 to 700 watt power supply food to accommodate the new GPU and I've had my eye on the Geforce GTX 260, but the thing is 10.5 inches long. I measured and it would be a tight fit, but the PSU cables would be in the way, unless I went the way of a modular power supply. HP came with a 350 watt PSU. Tell me a 350 Watt power supply would be sufficient to run say a Nvidia 9600 gt or say a solution simple 9800 gt slot. They all have two minimum system requirements of 400 watts... But.  And. will be a more recent judgment out of the PSU shelves fit in my case? And there at - it no real advantage to using the modular power supply she calls space-saving? Thank you for your help in advance.

  This 9600 GSO is easily from 550 to 700 MHz overclock with ATI tool or equivalent, to put it in with the 9800 GTX.

• SL500 with external monitor...

  I an SL500 with graphics from Nvidia 9300 Mr. with LCD of laptop computers, everything seems OK, but when I use an external monitor (an Acer 19 '' widescreen, 1440 X 900 at 60 Hz media) as primary monitor & don't use does not monitor the notobooks, sometimes I see the waves forming on some parts of the screen. This happens for a few minutes and then disappears and then reappears after a certain time. The monitor is ok, since my old laptop (4-5 years) can work with this external LCD with no problems. Furthermore, if I reduce the resolution to 1280 X 1024 so that there is no distortion of the picture (no wave), but then to this resolution, the images just doesn't look good.

  No idea if it's just a driver problem or something wrong with my video card?

  Try to press the button "Auto Adjust" on your screen and play with the setting of 'Phase '. Also, how you drive the monitor? via VGA or HDMI output?

  Thank you for the continued upward. The good news is that I set the graphics in pursuing the protocols of computers own recovery, which restores the GPU "settings". Before that, I lost online due to a faulty firewall communication. I've been having fun in recovery / repair mode for days. • DV9000 Dying (NVIDIA PROBLEM?)

  Recently, my laptop HP DV9000 is dead and does not restart.  I have it brought for diagnostic analysis and have been informed that the problem is the motherboard.  In research, I see there are thousands of DV9000 users who have the same problem because of bad parts in their laptop.

  I paid almost US $ 1000,00 for this laptop a few years ago and am very upset to learn that it is a known issue and that HP did not attempt to communicate with me (to my knowledge).   It is a fault, not something that I have caused... and I said that it will take about 300-400 dollars to repair.

  HP support behind this product and repair the defect?  I understand that it can be repaired by replacing the motherboard, or by correcting the problem of short circuit or heating on the NVIDIA chip.

  I expect a service quality and support for HP.  Please show me that I was not mistaken.

  I have Toshiba Qosmio X 870-127 and my old Nvidia 670 M GPU died. I bought a new MSI.
  Laptop recognizes the card but there is error in device menager after installing the driver. Windows has stopped this device because of this.

  The same situation is with Dell 675 M. I think it's because MSI 670 M is wrong vBIOS not Toshiba.
  I can't find anywhere.

  If someone have Toshiba notebook with 670 M please send me her vBIOS. I'll be very grateful.

  I found in another forum, it will be 70.24.44.01.03 (P1314-0006) but I'm not sure.

  Common BIOS for Qosmio X 870 PSPLXE can be found on the page of the Toshiba UE driver... but I doubt that this will help you.
  Is that the replacement or the GPU upgrade don't is not supported by laptop and my point of few manufacturers, there is no chance of getting this new GPU work.
