SL500 with external monitor...

Hello!

I an SL500 with graphics from Nvidia 9300 Mr. with LCD of laptop computers, everything seems OK, but when I use an external monitor (an Acer 19 '' widescreen, 1440 X 900 at 60 Hz media) as primary monitor & don't use does not monitor the notobooks, sometimes I see the waves forming on some parts of the screen. This happens for a few minutes and then disappears and then reappears after a certain time. The monitor is ok, since my old laptop (4-5 years) can work with this external LCD with no problems. Furthermore, if I reduce the resolution to 1280 X 1024 so that there is no distortion of the picture (no wave), but then to this resolution, the images just doesn't look good.

No idea if it's just a driver problem or something wrong with my video card?

Thank you!

PS: I tried this specific monitor with & without its driver, but always the same results.

Try to press the button "Auto Adjust" on your screen and play with the setting of 'Phase '. Also, how you drive the monitor? via VGA or HDMI output?

Satellite L30-149, Windows XP Home Edition

Yesterday I did face the following problem:

I swithched on my laptop but I have nothing on the screen. I tried to reboot several times, but it did not help. If I look very carefully, I see the logo of Intel (black text on white on the screen) but nothing else. The logo shows very low.

I plugged on the external monitor. With that he gives a little more. The Intel logo with the instruction how to reach configuration etc. Then Windows logo but when it should ask the user, the external monitor going to sleep mode and nothing happens after that.

And an external monitor, I managed to connect to Windows in safe mode and also in VGA mode. In VGA mode, I tried to change the resolution, after that I got black screen again and I had to start.

Now I wonder if I could do something (update of drivers, etc.) or should I go to the store where I bought the laptop and ask them to fix it. This look like a problem covered by the warranty?

Upgrade to this message (what happened after that I wrote the above text).

I turned on the laptop again. I thing the lightning from the room is now better because I noticed that the laptop seems to work (almost) correctly. Windows starts normally, I can faintly see the desktop. This seems to be a problem in the background ligthning. FnF7 does not change the situation.

    This sentence is very interesting.
Sounds like a question of FL-ups!

It is a small part behind the screen and control the backlight of the screens.
Usually, this part is not very expensive and the replacement is not complicated to a technician for laptop.

If your warranty is valid, then everything should be done for free.
Try to contact the ASP in your country and ask for later handling.

  • Portege M200 with external monitor - what is the best resolution?

As a result of a recent post on using an external monitor with the M400, I have a question on the use of one with the M200. I realize that the M200 uses the graphics card Nvidia rather than the graphics card Intel in the M400 - is it better with regard to the use of an external display is concerned? The M200 manual says that it will support up to 1600 x 1536 resolution on an external display. I want to use my M200 in a docking station with an external monitor to the extended desktop.

What would be the best resolution to go with externally? Should I go for 1400 x 1050 screen LCD M200 match? Or could I go for a 1600 x 1200, that should the graphics card (!) be able to cope? Or, finally, if I went to a widescreen 1680 x 1050, how would the face Nvidia card? The screen is not as clear as with the 1600 x 1050 screen?

What are the chances of work at all? I see in the M400 manual which she is supposed to support 2048 x 1536 on an external monitor, but this seems to be a problem, judging from the other post.

    Any help appreciated - thanks

    Hello

Well, the resolution of the screen depends primarily on the graphics card.
If you want to use a display resolution that the graphics card must support. In addition, the graphics card driver is important. If the graphics card will support the resolution of the screen, BUT the resolution is not listed in the graphics driver, so you will not be able to choose this value.

To my knowledge, if you use the docking station you will get Supportepar as the notebook display resolutions.
The resolution of the external display also depends on the external display. If the material of the monitor will not support the resolution so you will not be able to get all the images on the external monitor.

I think the best way is to test that the resolution is the best. Some people prefer the high resolution of small icons and other blind ;) like low resolutions (1024 x 768) because of the large icons

  • Toshiba DVD Player & Aero (with external monitor in Extended Mode)

I didn't know a lot about the forum on this subject, but if you Google 'Can not customize Aero' or another similar question you will see that it is a fumble from Toshiba/Vista to overcome, in some cases, as described below.

    * {color: #0000ff} SCENARIO *.
    * {color} * 1 Qosmio G50 - 10H.
2 I had configured a DynaDock in the system and attached to an external monitor to try in "Extended" mode
3 I disconnected everything and then tried to play a DVD by Toshiba Media Player.
4 at this point, I had not looked at combinations of colors Windows or themes.
5 Toshiba DVD Player wouldn't indicating that the Windows Aero scheme should be used.
6 when I implemented the function customize, there is no option in the section 'Color & appearance' Aero.

    * {color: #0000ff} SOLUTION *.
    * {color} * after an unreasonable amount of googling and a multitude of suggestions and solutions, WE work that I present below.

The eccentric solution was to go into settings/customize the display and click on the external monitor (which is gray). Remembering that this monitor is not currently attached, I unchecked "extend the desktop to this monitor". Immediately the Windows Aero was offered in 'color and appearance '. After selecting this regime, with its defaults, the Toshiba DVD movie player worked.

    * {color: #0000ff} GOTCHA EXTRA *.
    * {color} * when I reconnect the Dynadock and you want to use the external monitor in dual mode (extended), I'll have it becomes 'Extended '. What a pain.

In any case, I hope this will help some other poor bastard who gets into this difficulty.

    Thanks for this interesting announcement.

  • Problem with external monitor when used with the Satellite P100-434

I'm trying to use a Vizitron L - 151 monitor flat screen connected to the VGA port on the back of my Satellite P100 - 434 (PSPADE)

I find that the screens seem to periodically - feeding cycle windows resize themselves and then the screens settle down again. This happens with the laptop and the external monitor.

I've updated the latest available BIOS V4.20 (November 2, 2007) I use 7.15.11.6369 NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 driver version. I'm under the edition of Vista Home Premium to standard build.

I even resorted to the use of the dvd system recovery to rebuild completely the laptop and the problem persists. In Device Manager I have generic Non - PnP monitor and below that I have a generic PnP monitor I tried and it is not possible to get specific drivers for the monitor Vizitron L-151. * NOTE * I saw dxdiag that the external display is identified the Non - PnP device

The display configuration that I'm trying to use is to have my laptop as the main screen with the external display on my left as an extension to the desktop. In display config my computer screen appears as number 2 with the additional display in the poster as a device 1

While typing this my screens have made this three times and the last time, this IE7 window installs itself to the external display in restored down to size.

If anyone has a glimpse of it, I would be very grateful. There are no problems when the external display is deleted.

_I can reproduce this problem on demand_ by uninstalling the monitor Non - PnP Device Manager.

Sorry, mate, but you ad confuses me a little and be hones I m not 100% sure what you take on
You have some problems with the resolution of the external display or what?

I've found another thread on the setting of the external screen as main screen:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/message.jspa?MessageID=96263#96263

    According to this statement:
    > In display config my computer screen appears as number 2 with the additional display in the poster as a device 1
It seems that the external monitor has been on the main screen and display books internal as external.

I recommend you change this settings and to use books appear as 1 and the external display form 2.

  • Can I use a HP Mini 110-3190SF with external monitor of higher res?

Totally new in the world of netbooks! Just bought a HP Mini 110 - 3190SF, thinking I could use it with my external monitor sometimes to take off the stump of my eyes... but the highest display resolution that Windows 7 allows me is 1024 px. (My external monitor is 1360 px). In addition, 1024 px is even properly displayed on the external monitor - the left side of the screen (including the Windows Start button) is off the screen.

Of course, I tried the settings of the screen itself to have at least 1024 px is displayed correctly, but not joy. Ideally, I won't be able to change the output to 1360 px resolution, to take full advantage of the external display. Looking at this forum, it appears this is possible on older netbooks (Windows XP) but it does not seem possible when you run Windows 7. ??

Obviously, huge disappointment if I'm limited to 1024 px (and even who does not display properly). All the solutions to one of them? My output doesn't appear to 1360 px? Or, failing that, at least to get my 1024 px displaying properly on the external monitor?

    Any help is appreciated...

Thanks for the help. In fact, I solved the problem - not by installing the graphics driver, you suggested, but by installing a driver for the external monitor special I use (first time I've ever had to install a driver for a supposed to plug-and-play monitor!) and then play around with the settings. This allowed me to choose a higher resolution to 1024 px for the secondary display (IE, the monitor).

If someone else gets stuck on this, I can give a step by step, but probably no one else would have taken longer than me to know what to do!

  • Close the laptop and continue to work with external monitor

Hi, I just bought a laptop HP15 and I want to work with an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse, but I have no space in my office for monitor and notebook open.

The point is that when I close the laptop being the PC on, it shuts down suddenly and I can't continue to work.

I can't find the way to establish that the laptop turns off when I close the screen.

  • New XPS13 with external monitor is not able to get plenty of 3840 x 2160 at 60 fps

I bought this monitor and cable.  For some reason, I can't get resolution of 2560 x 1440. If I use a docking station and display port go to display port I get 3840 x 2160, but at 30 fps.

In case it makes a difference - I upgraded to win 10 Technical preview (from 8.1 to Windows that has been installed in the factory).

Any ideas on what could be bad?

    Thank you

    .. Paresh...

    Hello

The above is not correct because have now the external monitor works to full 3840 x 2160 @ 60 Hz but I couldn't do it by using one of the Dell accessories (i.e. mini-Display port, HDMI, or VGA adapter).

I had to buy a new mini-Display port display cable for port - I went with this an Alogic brand (search Alogic Mini Display Port) to display port v1.2.

The important thing is that it must be version 1.2 or the forthcoming 1.3.  I tried initially a ver1.1 and conly only to 3840 x 2160 @ 30 Hz which looked terrible.  There was also a setting on my screen so that it's new, it was a cable versus v1.1 v1.2.

Everything works fine.  I think what I've discovered, is that an HDMI cable cannot physically handle the volume of data required to drive a monitor UHD.

For anyone that mentions windows versions - I'm on 8.1 and drivers were very good.

    Hope that helps.

  • Satellite M70 does not work properly with external monitors

    Hello

My Satellite M70 has problems with a couple of monitors and projectors.

When I connect to another manufacturer (model AL1721) monitor, the screen remains black, if I connect to another monitor manufacturers (model AL1716) everything works fine.
If I connect a projector there also is a black screen.

At first everything worked fine, I had a monitor AL1721 who worked, and 1 day it no longer works. I reinstalled windows, updated video card drivers, but it still does not work.
    anyone an idea why?

    Hello

How do you connect the monitors and the projector? with an analog or a digital (with adapter) cable to the screen?

Another question: when you connect your AL1721/Beamer and turn on the machine, you can see the Toshiba logo or something else. Is the error just that occur in windows or the "DOS" screen, too?

BTW. have you reinstalled with recovery or separated from an original disc of Microsoft windows and the drivers you have installed?

  • T520 problems with external monitor resolution

    Hello

I'm standing right now waiting on hold for a Lenovo tech support rep, so I thought I'd just post my problem here. I just bought a Dell ultrasharp monitor U2713HM and am trying to connect it to my Lenovo T520. We sometimes see the monitor and sometimes it isn't, but this isn't my main problem. The monitor is supposed to be 2560 x 1440, but all the resolution settings are grayed out. I know that the Lenovo can support it because my last screen is a Samsung SyncMaster supporting 2560 x 1440, and it was beautiful (beautiful until the monitor exploded).

I was on the phone with Dell and Lenovo, and so far nobody has been able to solve the problem. I've updated the graphics driver NVIDIA (NVS4200M) to the latest version (310.90) as suggested by Dell, and I changed the cable VGA to DVI - D cable (connected to the Dual Link adapter), as suggested by Lenovo. He stlil does not work.

I could use some suggestions. I'm not grumpy at all, so it's quite frustrating. Thank you!!

    _Problem 2: _
When I use samsung 22 "on batery then monitor does not Flash as a flag but pixels moves randomly left or right. I try to find new drivers for my graphics 945GM card, but on the toshiba support page there is an old drivers which was already instaled on my laptop.

    Hello!

For your first problem, I think that the AC/DC adapter is faulty or it s a motherboard problem.
This should be checked by a technician for laptop.
I put t know what OS you use, but you can try to use the driver from the Intel Web site.
There should be a more recent version available:

  • MacBook 12 "and external monitors - experiences

That I have not found much info on using a MacBook 12 "with external monitors (but have found problems), I thought I would post my experiences here for the benefit of other researchers:

    MacBook 12 "with Dell u3415w (3440 x 1440) via a USB - C adapter Digital AV Multiport (HDMI):

VIDEO: Experienced random black screens on the external monitor. After update to El Capitan 10.11.4 version which included an update of the firmware of the adapter, the problem become constant, with the external screen crashing to black seconds nonstop. Switching the HDMI on the MHL port on the monitor completely solved this problem.

VIDEO: I'm only able to get a resolution of 2560 x 1080 scaling to fill the screen, which is a little fuzzy but fine for office tasks - selection reduced 3440 x 1440 or "best resolution for this monitor" translates into a look, windowed 16:9, with black bars on the right and left. I have not yet found solution to reach ultra-wide 21:9 angle at the native resolution (but would appreciate a).

VIDEO: Macbook 12 discs easily display 3440 x 1440 for tasks of office such as word processing and surfing. Video full HD YouTube is generally good, but gets now and then a little agitated.

AUDIO: Holding Option and clicking on the speaker icon in the menu bar show selectable option for the audio output to the device (monitor). On this screen, it seems to be a problem of reception of the signal of the Macbook when another device is connected to another port. In my case, a PC connected to the DisplayPort would be "laundered" the audio signal of Mac but ONLY if the PC has been out audio through external speakers, not the monitor (a lot of trial and error to discover this. When the audio PC sent ONLY to the screen, the monitor then accept the audio signal of the Mac, too. But have an external speaker connected via a cable audio 3.5 mm to the pc mobo (taken minijack) would somehow replace the TWO PC and Mac audio signal to the monitor. Something to do through the DP connection maybe)

with ASUS PB27Q (2560 x 1440) via an adapter, no problem.

with ASUS PA328Q more ASUS PB287Q (3840 x 2160 or '4 K') using the same adapter. Cursor extremely lag/Office up to that you enable DP (Displayport) 1.2 through settings on the screen of the monitors. This allows the Macbook to drive a monitor 4K at 30 Hz, which is always a little laggy, but realistic enough to be productive for word processing, surfing, etc. Would not recommend a 4K monitor for Macbook 12 for a really "nice" experience until / unless that 60 Hz is an option.

  • Qosmio X 300-problem of external monitor

    Hi all!

I am the proud owner of a 300-157 x, but I have a problem. I would use my laptop as a desktop workstation and use an external VGA monitor to the output.
Everything is fine when the operating system (Vista or Ubuntu) is responsible, but I can't figure out how to make the external monitor to view BIOS and POST messages to completely get rid of the internal display.

    Any clue?

    >... I can't understand how the external monitor to view BIOS and POST messages to completely get rid of the internal display.
AFAIK this option doesn't exist. In General, computer laptop Qosmio is designed as a multimedia mobile gear and games. Of course you can use it with external screen or a TV, but I think that it is not designed to be desktop replacement. For example, professional laptop computers Tecra and Portege that can be used with a docking station to have multiply and different options for use with external display.

I had X 300 but I ve never used it with external monitor so I can't say with certainty how it works but if I m remembering well this option to disable the laptop computer's display is not available.

Every time when you want to use your laptop as a desktop replacement you should open it, start it, wait that the OS is fully charged, switch to the external display (FN + F5), and then close the cover.
I know it's a little annoying, but, more or less, in 2 minutes, you can use your laptop as a desktop replacement, especially if you use an external wireless keyboard.

  • Satellite L650 - HDMI connection for external monitor

I've linked the laptop to my Sony LCD TV via HDMI, no problem. I have a (Acer, 24-inch) LCD monitor that has a HDMI port also. I used it to play ps3 and xbox360 via HDMI connection, no problem. I have two lines HDMI 1.3. The two lines are working without any problems.

However, when I connect my laptop to my LCD Acer just external LCD monitor can t work properly. I can barely see what is display on the monitor, very snowy. It's hard to describe. I took a photo but don't know where to download it here.

I tried both HDMI lines, but both failed. I tried to change a few settings in the laptop, but nothing makes any difference. I'm looking for the driver for video card on the Web from Toshiba website and found that my current license is updated.

I'm not a tech geek, but I think that I don't know something on the computer. Am I missing something here?

Guys (and girls), please throw in an idea (tooth tell me to check if the connection is good, I don't already).
    Thank you

    Hey,.

If you connect your laptop to external monitor and press the FN + F5 key combination what happens exactly? Pressing the FN + F5 key combination shows different options and you should test with external monitor only (not the clone image). If you work on external monitor doesn't do this work?

In addition, you must connect the devices before starting their.

Also, take a look in the BIOS and try to load the default settings. Make sure that that the HDMI cable is connected before starting Windows and check the status again.

By the way: what operating system are you using exactly?
