  Well, this is the story how I installed GNU/Debian-test on my new DELL Alienware X 51. Google isn't much help here. In order to better read this to the end before trying to destroy your PC completely and all the data you have on it.
  What I did re-score available SSD/HDD in most convinient medium. As I had 256GB SSD 1 TB HDD choice is quite obvious. Cut into halves. First half of SSD total rest under Win 8.1 control. Remaining will be used as swap 2GB and for / partition. HARD drive last half is given to / home. As ' / home users "will join me very soon. All the foregoing said must be done in Windows itself. Bring back only this time boot sequence. 1st boot will be 2nd UEFI:debian - UEFI:USB and so on.   You need to integrate the drivers Sata ( ICH7M/MDH SATA AHCI ) and burn a new cd XP with nLite.

  Here is a guide showing how to integrate and here are the drivers Sata . 7-ZIP or Universal Extractor are good out of the installer.

  Could someone help me out with this error so that I can get the operational services.
  
  I wasn't able to get this thing to run. I am a newbie to essbase.

  You've hit a bug in Oracle Linux 6.2.  We have an article in the Knowledge Base describing the related issues during installation Oracle Linux 6.2 on vSphere and another related issue when you use virtual EFI firmware.  All these problems are caused by the same bug Oracle Linux (and they have released an update to fix it), but it seems that we have not yet a section in Knowledge Base describing the problem encountered on VMware Workstation, where the symptom is that the screen is cut off and there is no button 'Next' to visible.  (Interestingly, you can still use the keyboard to go through Setup... Press Alt + N)

  To get the display work correctly, try this:

  • Shut down the virtual computer.
  • Go into the settings of the virtual machine and configure the virtual machine display to have a screen at 1024 x 768.  Save the settings.  (I have been informed that sometimes this setting doesn't "stick", then you will want to return to settings and check that it is correct before continuing.)
  • Turn on the virtual machine and enter the Setup program.  You should now have a button "next".
  • Install Oracle Linux 6.2.
  • Once the client is installed, follow the instructions in the Knowledge Base article to install the update within the guest to correct the cuase of the root of the problem.
  • When you have installed the update and turn off your virtual machine, you can remove the limitation of 1024 x 768 display that you added earlier.

  Your Oracle Linux VM should then work correctly.

  Most of the programs under Linux can be uninstalled by simply removing the directory where they are installed. OBIEE is not the exception.

  You can install Linux. No problem at all, but please note that Toshiba doesn't support Linux OS and you're on your own with it.

  I saw your photos on your problem and wants help. After researching your question and having the same problem happen on my old HP tent system holder a Linux installation. I am lead to believe that the linux OS CD that you are using does not allow installation and if you are able to run the Windows operating system, the error "Non system disk or disk error" is not a problem with a hard drive:

  FIX - IT as follows:

  1.) make sure you are able to install the Linux cd on another system.

  3.) attempt the installation with another cd of Linux to check if the installation is successful.

  Dear Dell,

  I just replaced my old Dell Dimension with a new 8500 XPS at great expense. On my old size, I was able to load Linux on a completely separate drive. When I tried to boot into Linux, I was able to change the boot priority and start Linux. However, to my dismay, I can't do this on my easily on XPS machine. I bought this machine to do with it as I wanted and not be attached to the use right of Windows 8.

  What I'm looking for from DELL is on how to do it. I'm not asking DELL how to install LInux, but I am looking for guidance on how to. to get my machine in position to do it and the ramifications to do.   Without Secure Boot enabled in BIOS, you'd be no more at risk you'd be with Win 7 on any old PC version.

  I create a new database in the physical layer as XML.

  On the connection pool (named xml_source), I'll put the path to the XML file, inside the datasourse name, with this format: / u01/app/xmltest /.

  My test XML file is the following: xml_test.xml, so in the information in the table, I'll put the name of the XML like this: xml_test (without the xml extension)

  The issue is when I am issuing the SQL, the displayed error message says:
  Query Failed: [nQSError: 64023] cannot access the /u01/app/xmltest\xml_test.xml: no such file or directory

  As you can read in the error message there is a "-" just before the xml file. So Linux is not a '-' but a ' / ', why obiee puts a bad path? How can I 'know' obiee that there is a Linux environment not a Windows?
