• InDesign CS6 crashes when I try to copy a chart

  I work in CS6 with a document that has been converted from CS4. I want to move a chart from one location in the document to the other, but when I try to copy it, InDesign crashes immediately. Does anyone else have this problem?

  It turns out that the culprit was a bad font in the image. I opened the image in Illustrator and converted to outlines police. That solved the problem! By the way, this a problem of image/font (this image is used in a few different manuals) also caused InDesign to crash when I exported in PDF format.

  I have a 65 page (and growing) document where I am trying to create an alphabetical list of entries using the Table of contents feature.

  Everything works fine - except that I can't make any change formatting to the text that contains the table of contents box. Simply change from one to two columns cause the application crash instantly. I have scratched my head trying to find a workaround - flowing the text to a new text box created a slower crash (after a minute of beach ball)- but still, it crashes.

  I trashed preferences and have exported (and then reopened) as an IDML file - but the problem is still there.

  I work on a Mac under OS 10.6.8.

  Any suggestions?

  It may also be interesting to try a change on the paragraph composer, since this seems to be where the accident is.

  InDesign CC crashing on 10.10.3. I uninstalled inDesign CC and removed the preferences. It worked fine for a little bit then started crashing again. Since it is in the cloud and not a local installation I don't know it could cause. Has anyone encountered this?

  It would be interesting to see if replacing the images with the .ai versions will help, but if the file crashes to restore links, which will be difficult to do.

  Make the icons in a font would probably be a good idea, too. You can use already for this (either the free demo of Adobe Community: [Ann] already demo: make your own font (1 character) and make a font for each icon or the paid version which would allow you to make a font of multi-caractere).

  This happens for all or just specific 3D graphics? I found a CAR that seems to be similar to what you see, but I'm looking further into this and will post when I have more information. In the meantime, you can try a repair of LabVIEW.

  Inorder to know which update is the cause of the crash of the system, you can install the updates one by one. Firstly uninstall the updates that have been recently installed.

  Uninstall the update:

  1. click on start and type "update installed" in the searc box. Click on view installed updates

  2. right click on the update you want to uninstall. Once the uninstall is complete, reboot the computer.

  3. install the updates one by one.

  You would get to know what update is at the origin of the disorder. You can hide this particular update.

  Can someone help me, please? InDesign CS6 crashes whenever I start it. I apologize in advance if I'm like a broken record, but I've read about most of the other post that had the same problem, but none of the suggestions solved my problem. I deleted my preferences and uninstalled and reinstalled InDesign CS6 several times. Also, it crashes when it is in trial mode after a clean reinstall.

  To give you more information, my Macbook Pro crashed a month ago. Once it has been resolved, I migrated my information to my Time Machine backup and upgraded to Mac OS X 10.10. I'd need to use InDesign CS6 for the first time since the crash yesterday (27/10/2015). That's when I noticed the problem. Photoshop and Illustrator CS6 both work perfectly well.

• InDesign CS4 crashes when converting 1-column text box with a drop shadow to the col-2 (or more)

  I use InDesign CS4 in Windows XP Pro 64-bit, 6 GB of RAM. If I create a column 1 text box, fill it with a color, add a drop shadow, and then add text, everything is fine. If I try to change it to 2-columns (or), InDesign freezes/crashes. I thought at first that it is perhaps because the case was shot, but it happens even if the case is not turned. If I remove the shadow and try to change it, it works.

  Anyone know why this is happening or if there is a known bug or fix?

  XP 64 is totally supported. No troubleshooting should begin there.
