Objects lost or orphaned front panel

Hello LabVIEW gurus!

I have a façade which contains one or more objects passing, passing off the coast to the left of the original I can't scroll on their.  Attmpting to scroll through more than three or widths of four screens caused the entire session of LabVIEW to stop to answer if I kill the process through the villain Program Manager Windows XP and start over.  Any way to know what is the way out there and move the missing items (if they are even necessary!) without trying to scroll there?

Michael

Hi MJ,.

What happens when you select everything (Ctrl + A) and then align all objects on their right side by using the menu on the front panel?

If it is a 'complete' object it will be still on the screen (at least should be). If it's only a label (or similar) it can stay there on the left...

  • Copy-paste an object of front panel to the same xy location

    Hello

Just a practical question, but I would need very often this kind of functionality:

How can I copy - paste an object of front panel to the same location? Lets consider the I have a TAB container, and on the first page, I have a chart. I would like to make a graph even on the second page tab, but at the same XY location compared to the TAB container.

    Thank you very much!

HM, I just realized, there is an option 'double page' for the TAB containers and it's magic for me, creates the exact copy of all the objects

  • Where is the documentation on front panel objects?

This might be a stupid question, but is it helps on objects of façade? For example, on the front panel, I chose

    Modern-> list, table & tree-> Listbox.

Now, I typed the letters A, B, C in the list box and right click on the node of the list box on the block diagram and witness of the. Of course, he showed the list again.

I noticed that the wire was a blue line "BOLD". I wired then that a for loop with indexing turned on, and this time I ran inside the loop, I created a new indicator

the VI and inside the for loop through the indicator, I saw a number, which was the index of the last item selected in the Listbox.

Well, if you're wondering where I'm going with this, here's my question: How do we find out (where is the documentation) that tells a user of the blue line "BOLD" on a Listbox

carries information on the entries in the list box, as well as the index of a selected item? I mean there are a lot of other façade objects that do have not any help documentation.

What a person to learn on items in the front? On the block diagram, I can mouse over, press Ctrl-H and click on detailed, help but cannot do anything on the front panel objects.

  • Double-click the object of front panel to find the terminal block diagram

Hello world. I don't know why, if I double click on an object to front panel, labview opens the front tab customize, instead of finding control in block diagrams, which would be the normal behavior, as I read in http://labviewwiki.org/Tips_and_tricks#Debugging.

I tried to reset the initial Setup by renaming the file LabVIEW.ini, but it doesn't seem to work.

Do you know how double-click the object on the front panel and locate the?

    Thanks in advance!

    Guille.

Did you restart LabVIEW after you rename the file labview.ini?

There is an option (Tools... options...... general façade... 'Open the editor control with double click').

It always seems to be set in your case.

  • How to save a picture of object front panel with the color depth?

When I use the Invoke node method to get the image of an object to front panel, then save it as a bmp or png, I seem to lose the color depth. What should I do to register programmatically façade objects with the same number of colors as they appear on the screen?

    I'm using LabView 2011 11.0

You have an entry in the Invoke node called Image depth.  You wired a 8 for her.  Why?  Doesn't mean that you capture an image at a depth of only 8-bit rather weak image?

  • Requirements Gateway - objects on the front panel

    Hello

I'm about to start using the gateway requirements and I have a few questions to help me go...

    1. If I create a vi on a machine without RG installed and then move it to a machine with the Receiver General installed, will be always recognized tags?

2 - RG recognize the syntax [covers XX] if it's on a façade and not the block diagram?

    Thanks for your help.

    Darren.

    I know a little RG.

    1. Yes.

2 RG will scan the three areas of a VI for references: VI Description, control/indicator Description and diagram commentary (free labels). That's why he won't see a reference on the front panel (for example data text or text of the label or a caption).

  • Front Panel values lost on save

I don't take just my first with Labview. I created a couple of screws and have managed to get the I2C communication that passes through a third-party data acquisition box. The problem I have is quite simple, I'm saving the screw, but they does not retain the values that I walked in the front.

I have a highest level VI and a couple of subVIs that contain lower level features to send messages I2C. The highest level VI has a couple of value controls that allow me to enter the device addresses, etc.. It also groups of toggle switches that I use to set the bits that I combine later in bytes of the data that I can send it.

But whenever I have to save a VI front panel settings are in default of payment to another value. I don't understand, I just want to hold the number, I entered in the value box. And more important still, in this case, I need the table toggle switches to stay where I put them, so when I run again the same bytes are transmitted. But everytime I open the VI, the toggle switches are all grayed out and set to 0.

Is this normal? How to keep the controls he values? Is there a reason design, they did not?

    Thanks for any advice.

    You need to do:

'Edit'--> 'To do' course Defaults values before the Save.

  • WANT 411c: MFP ENVY 411c lights on the front panel

I find anywhere a note detailing the two LEDs on the front panel of the printer.  Of course, the left is the power light and the Start button / stop.  The other, 1/2 "to the right, has an icon as the icon of WiFi or wireless, or whatever it may be as an antenna with a radiating signal left and right of it.  What is this for?  It seems that there is a hole below and to the right of the symbol, but nothing ever shows up.  I turned off the wireless and turn it back on and or State shows a light here.  I reinstalled the software checks to see if that mattered and it made no difference.  I also unplugged the router and the printer, and that has not changed anything. It is connected to my wireless network and works very well.  What this has to do with some additional services such as ePrint?  I just lost some of them September 1, 2016.  Perhaps the only light when something just one of them?

    Hello

That your work as expected wireless connection, there no problem with the wireless printer, just with his lamp wireless card.

The lamp to indicate the wireless connection is turned on and must turn on once connected wireless.

They have nothing to do with ePrint or any Web service, it must turn on once connected to a local wireless network.

As you mentioned that you are connected and the printer maintain a wireless connection, it's probably just a blown bulb.

  • How to scroll through the front panel when running

    Hello

I'm using LabVIEW 8.5. I want to scroll the front panel automatically according to the moving object. I enclose a vi for example, in which I move the image, but if it is out of range of screen I have to scroll manually horizontal scroll bar to see the position of the image, it is possible that it automatically scrolls according to my position of the object.

    -Thanks in advance

    Hi, Mary,

Well, now I see what you wanted. From my point of view using front panel scrolling for this animation is wrong way (if not I do not know your final objectives).

I would recommend that you use the image for this control. Here the work by hand a little more, but you will get better results and will not scroll to your façade.

For example, "quick and dirty" implemented:

  • How to make non-visible control on the Front Panel appear at Design time?

I have a few controls on the front whose visibility is changed (on or off) at run time. The problem is that if I stop the Run time, the visibility of the control remains in the running in design mode state. So I am not able to see or find the control to make changes in design mode.

How can I make all the visible front-panel controls, or find and make it visible to a control on the front whose visibility has False?

    Thank you.

It is documented in the help of LabVIEW.

    Hidden front panel display

Perform the following steps to display a hidden front control or indicator. You can also hide the indicators and controls on the front panel.

    1. Find the terminal block schema for the object. "If you have multiple devices with the same type of data, right click on the terminals and select visible elements" Label in the context menu. Find the object with the label that corresponds to the object hidden façade.

    2. Right-click in the Terminal, and then select Show Control context menu if the object is a control or indicator to show if the object is an indicator.

You can also use the Visible property to display the controls and indicators by program.

You can also view all hidden front panel controls and indicators.

Path: Fundamentals-> build the façade-> how-to--> configure the objects-> display on front panel of the façade hidden object.

  • Cannot resize the front panel

I can't resize the front panel to a smaller window.  I put in (0,0) minimum window size, unchecked maintain proportions and to scale all objects.  I had originally put the size of the minimum window to 1012 x 616.  When I close the window property and re - open the settings still collated (0,0) while they are saved, but I am unable to reduce the size of window smaller than 1012 x 616.

Also, there is open space on both sides in both dimensions, so I'm not running in the front panel objects.  What property/properties miss me that locks the minimum panel size?  One last thing is that I'm able to resize windows from any SubVIs I the same project and edit the minimum window size them and they respond as expected.

    Thank you

    Very strange

    comics ctrl + A, ctrl + C, ctrl + N, ctrl + E and ctrl + V solves everything.

  • front panel size between decoration

    Hi all

Does anyone know if there is a way to size, a façade based on a decoration.

for example, I have a front apnel GUI with a flat frame decoration.

I spent some time tweaking the front panel to show what is inside the flat frame decoration.  I go back and change some stuf and repeat these optimizations.

It would be cool if I could just put highlight the object of decoration and tell the VI to resize based on the decoration.

I tried this VI-> Panel-> Decos []-> Index [2]-> MasterRect to set the FP. PanelBounds.

It is assigned the same size as decoration, but not really where the decoration, see VI attached.

    Any ideas?

    -Sean

You must set the origin of the part of the façade as well.

But as Ian said, it is probably best to design your front and your decoration so that its located at 0,0 and place in upper-left corner of the window.

  • The front panel indicator background color manually

Hi I'm trying to color of the lights on the front panel depending on whether a test was successful or not. I created a Subvi to do the job, but I can't choose the right to the property to be set depending on what type of indicator is in color (ie. digital or string) then I used a case statement and try to detect what type of reference is passed in so I can set the right to property. I used a number of existing posts about it to this day.

I seem to be unable to determine the type of reference correctly, I get errors about not being able to cast to the specified type, trying a color string indicator.

I tried to add a screencapture but the system hung while I attached the VI, any ideas would be appreciated.

    Thank you

When you compare references, the result tells you whether or not they refer to the same object, it does not tell you if they are of the same type.

See VI changed to a technique to use.

  • How to get rid of the reference lines on the front panel

I forgot how I created a couple of horizontal and vertical lines on the front panel. It seems that the original on the front lines. When I move my program to another monitor with a different resolution, the layout is messed up because of the reference lines cannot change the resolution. Everybody respected this before? How to get rid of them?

Attached are the 2 creen shot of facades.

    Thanks in advance.

Ah, I figured out. I accidentally selected the "scale with objects pane" from the context menu of a button in the tab. This is whence the reference lines.

Thanks for all your guys help and advice.
