Oblivion, the problems of Vista

I've installed Oblivion: GOTY edition on my 32-bit Vista system and he plays very well for some time. I have completed the missions of the Guild of hunting, the missions of the magician's Guild, etc. (the game continued for some time, in fact), but at the point where I finally began the mission 'find the heir', the graphics began to go haywire. The effects of spells (such as the fireball, lightning, etc.) would linger long after their expiry date, "follow me", visually alter the landscape around me and lock up the graphics that I went through the landscape of oblivion. This question developed minor irritation of the program crash. Windows would stop and simply close. I contacted the support of Bethesda (the developer), explained the situation and their response was that the game was developed based on Windows XP and Vista was not officially supported. There was nothing they could do. The implicit message that Windows XP was required to play the game.

I don't buy into this resolution (or more accurately, lack of one). I know that there is a horde of people out there who have played this game successfully beginning to end with Vista. I am sure that this is possible. I am toying with the idea of completely wipe the drive hard drive af all related to the oblivion of the data, and then reload and start again. However, this would nullify all the advances, that I have enjoyed so far. And this still does not guarantee that I will meet again at the same obstacles crashing the game video-related. Now, as frustrated as I am with 'Resolution' Bethesda, it's still a fantastic game and I'd like to see it at its end.

Any help out there?

Make sure to have the latest patches from oblivion.  Games Bethesda is known to be buggy and they usually disappear a lot of these bugs with patches.  I don't know if you can start a new game without erasing your old, but I'd be curious to know if this problem is only with your active character or all characters, as you play through the game.  You should, of course, make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your graphics card and if that all works, inspect your graphics card to ensure that the fan is working properly and that you are not overheat your card.  Often graphics problems may occur if your graphics card is overheating or has not enough power.

  • Please help with the problems of Vista SP2

So I spent all day on the forums here and I'm head over heels.  I had problems with Windows update and some other problems on my Dell Studio XPS.  It is a tower with double HDs in RAID mirror running Vista 64-bit with SP2.

I got it for 3 years and I thought that I clean and correct certain defects to go back to the original Dell factory condition.  That did not fix the update install problem I did cleaning.  Now it's worse.

    I'm trying to install SP2 and get a catastrophic failure 0x8000ffff error-UNEXPECTED

The onlychange is that several months ago, one of my WD 640 GB drives factory failed and I replaced it with a Seagate Barracuda 1 TB since I couldn't find a 640 GB drive.

I tried to stop and restart all services BITS, etc. no luck.

I tried to run among the MS FixIt for the problem of update, but it fails because it says that it cannot initialize the powershell.

Help, please... I'm hopelessly lost and can not spend more money on this thing.

    Thank you!

  • Can someone help me with the problem of Vista Home Wireless (unidentified network)

I recently replaced my wireless router and now I get "Unidentified network - Local access" when you try to connect to my network.

This problem occurs only with this computer Vista Home.  (All other wireless devices have any problems (Win7 netbook, iPad, PS3, etc).)
ipconfig/all shows me a valid ip address, subnet mask and gateway also seems to have a Mac address of zero.
Norton Internet Security was installed, but I have removed and still have the same problem.

    Hello

Position of your router would be suspicious here. How you are positioned in the router? Are there
    obstacles in the path?

Actually try updating your driver and disabling the network logon.

Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver - write
version - click the driver update (cannot do something that MS is far behind the pilots of certification). Then
Right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

  • Baffled by the problem of Vista activation - no telephone activation option.

Hi, thought I would come here and pick some brains.  I have a machine in front of me running Vista Home Premium SP1.  It is a Packard Bell PC with a motherboard failed. These cards do not have PB, so I had to buy another kind, and which triggered the activation request.

So, I ran the Vista product recovery CD after I put the new Board in, and loaded it up.  I had pretty much finished machine yesterday and this morning I got an activation error.  No problem, I thought, but I can't activate the key because it is preinstalled.

So my problem is this: when I activate the product, I can't activate it online, there is an error.  However, normally there is an option to activate in other ways, such as by telephone.  On this version of Vista, however, this option is missing.

Can anyone suggest how I can get the phone activation option can I revalidate the license?  I tried everything I know.

    Thanks in advance

I don't know if you'll be able to activate the license because the recovery CD was for the original motherboard, but:

I have covered a lot of discussions on this issue and have tried all the fixes I found relating to this issue but did not have a chance to find a solution to my problem. I apologize if this is a repeat post, but as I said, none of the questions I found helped.

    ------

I have 2 laptops (windows 7), 2 xbox 360 s, and smart phones that will all connect to my internet connection with a problem and run great.

However, I recently bought a PC oriented for the game, and I got this error because I got it.

I am able to connect to the Internet. Google has always works as Youtube, but youtube videos will stop eventually buffering until I have restart the browser.  Most of the games that I play online will launch and play very well in the beginning, but then they lose the internet connection and not return it until I have close the game and restart it, then it works very well for 5 minutes for an hour, but ends by loses connection again until I got close the game and start it again... However, when games lose connection if I Alt + Tab back on the desktop I'm always connected to the internet and can run my internet browser to always connect to google or youtube... Other sites are also affected (Netflix, Microsoft, Outlook, contraction, etc. all will simply keep the load and eventually tell me 'the site takes long to answer').

I tried the update of Device Manager, but it says it cannot find the updates for the server to access Internet with yellow Triangle /!

    In the currency manager<><>

Windows found driver software for your device.

If you know the manufacturer of your device, you can visit their website and check the support section for driver software. »

However after visiting the Linksys website, the only thing close to that I found was to update the firmware, which I did, but was still does not solve the problem, and I can't seem to find everything related to the Internet Access Service.

I then tried calling Linksys (router Linksys E1200 series), who directed, I call my ISP, which then make sure that my drivers are up to date.

At the beginning I was not able to check for an update for access to the Internet Server (all have been 'grayed out' and unclickable).  However after clicking on "Devices and printers" under the start menu, right click router<>

I tried also to open the command prompt

I did the "Winsock" fix according to the instructions and an IP reset via the command prompt, always with no success.

I spent about the last 48 hours trying to get this update with no luck, I finally met a thread with a post that seems to fix the problem for Vista, but I need the version of Windows 7 which has not been registered.  A member of the community had provided a link to download the driver I can't find for the life of me.

I'm typing this from my laptop (not the PC having problems) and it internet runs fine on this legacy without problems as are all other currencies clung to the same internet connection. The PC in question is the only one that is connected to the router, all the rest are wireless and work very well. (No wireless in the PC with the question card)  If I wired my laptop (with the same Ethernet cable that runs on the PC with the questions) my laptop connects to the internet and always runs very well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello Dubz,

Thanks for posting your question on the forum of the Microsoft community.

I would like to know some information about the problem so that we can help you better.

    1. What is your default browser?
    2. What is the brand and model of your computer?

I appreciate your efforts to resolve the issue.

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:
If you are using Internet explorer as default browser, then please use the suggestions provided in this Microsoft Knowledge base article and check.
    Reference:
Internet Explorer does not start or stops responding
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/926449/en-GB

    Important notes:
Reset the Internet Explorer settings can reset security settings or privacy settings that you have added to the list of Trusted Sites. Reset the Internet Explorer settings can also reset parental control settings. We recommend that you note these sites before you use the reset Internet Explorer settings. Reset Internet Explorer is not reversible, and all the previous settings are lost after reset.

The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

    Also, please use method 2.

    Method 2:
I also suggest you try the steps in this Microsoft support article and check.
    Reference:
Automatically get recommended drivers and updates for your hardware

    frucstrated,
Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.  First I would make sure your video card drivers are updated.  I know it's a whole new machine, but it is always good to make sure you have the latest version of the driver.  Then can go to the game icon and then right-click on it and select Properties, then the Compatibility tab and then check the box run in compatibility mode.  I would suggest trying to run in Windows XP (SP3) mode first and see if that helps.

Update: now, the computer froze just on a full white screen, and everything I had opened a window of Firefox, it was.  Don't know what that means...

You use Sharepoint?  This error seems to be frequently associated with users who use this app.

Do you know when this problem started?  Try a system restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem started.  Here is the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/.  Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points.  If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two.  NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates.

Try to use all the applications above except IE8 and see if the problem persists.  I read a few posts that suggest that this may be an IE issue (or somehow related to IE - especially when it is run with a desktop application).

Let's try a clean boot to see if some 3rd party application is causing the problem.  Here is the procedure: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.  If things are smooth with the boot so it's a process of elimination to identify who did respoinsible for the problem by following the procedures described in the above link-, but we will know THAT we nailed it, and it's only a matter of time before you find the source (then we can decide what to do about it - uninstall or try to find a solution in order to continue to work).  Don't forget to put in normal operation when you are finished.

I hope this helps.  Please post back in all cases we will know what happened (and maybe can come up with other options to try).

  • My Acer 5315-2153 too heated and stops frequently. I have Windows Vista and Windows 7. What is the problem? If this is the case, how can I deleat Vista?

The original Windows program was Vista.

    Hi Allen,.

Thanks for posting this question in the Microsoft Community.

I'll help you find a solution to the issue. Before we begin, I have to ask you a few questions.

1 how long have you been faced with the question?

    2. you have any security program installed on the computer?

    3. the problem occurs on OS?

    4. are you aware of any recent software or hardware on the computer changes?

Search for the exact error message you get to do this in the Event Viewer:

Event Viewer is a tool that displays detailed information about the events important (for example, programs that don't start as expected or updates are downloaded automatically) on your computer. The event viewer can be useful when troubleshooting problems and errors with Windows and other programs.

    For more information, see:

What are the information contained in the logs of the event (Event Viewer)?

Check out this link to open the event viewer:

    Open event viewer

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/open-Event-Viewer

You can start the computer in safe mode and perform a clean boot. Clean boot helps eliminate any conflict of third party software.

Note: when you are finished troubleshooting, follow step 3, mentioned in the article to start the computer to a normal startup.

I have problem of error 815 in vista broadband.pls someone give me a solution__

The 815 error code means that the network connection to broadband could not be established on your computer because the remote server is not responding. In addition, I notice that the connection was going well for a few days and broke all of a sudden. In this case, I suggest to contact your Internet provider (ISP) to check first the question.

If the connection can be established using another device/system, please create a new administrator account on the Windows Vista-based computer to solve the problem:

    1. click onStart , type the user account and click on the user accounts Control Panel.

    2. in the user account control panel, click onaccount manager another .

    3. click oncreate a new account , type an account name, select administrator , and then clickcreate an account .

4 logout and login with the new account and establish the connection to check if the problem persists.
