My idea is to create a script that will search IP ranges observed (such as 192.168.128.xxx) and display the name of VLAN, VLANID and VMHost.

  • Windows Update servers IP address range

Could someone advise what range of IP addresses is used by windows update, to add the latter in our firewall to allow access to our servers. Thank you

It can as this discussion related (but not conclusive) since April 2009-online http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_other-windows_update/ip-adresses-to-get-microsoft-patches/5eab0dfa-039c-4a09-a077-78493fadb2dd

For security reasons, the IP address for the Windows Update web site is constantly changing, and it is not a fixed address. In addition, there is no official publication of IP addresses. Setting the IP addresses on the firewall for this purpose is normally not recommended. Instead, we suggest allowing all outbound connections on http & https ports or set the DNS addresses as authorized destinations for traffic through the firewall.

For information on IP used by Windows Update, use the DNS system, as it's the only reliable source of information update. If you are using DNS, make sure that the following destination hosts are specified:

  • DHCP Server address range

    Hello

I was wondering if there was a way to change the integrated DHCP server address range of 192.168.1.x for, say, 192.168.0.x?  For example, when you change the IP Address of the router from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.0.1.  I noticed that when you post such a change, the DHCP range does not update accordingly.  Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Paul

Your range of DHCP server should update automatically to the 192.168.0.x subnet when you change your "local IP address" in 192.168.0.1.   Be sure to use a computer that is connected to your router when you perform this operation.  In addition, be sure to click 'Save Settings', and then to wait (from 3 to 60 seconds) screen refresh.  You will be probably disconnected from the router when you perform this operation.  Don't worry about this.  Turn on the router and your computer.

Then, wait 30 seconds, and then restart the router and the computer.  Now, your local IP address and range of DHCP servers should have the same subnet.

  • To change default Internet connection sharing IP address range and subnet mask

    Hello

When the ICS (ICS) is enabled on a NETWORK adapter that is connected to the direct Internet line, the second NETWORK card automatically gets the 192.168.137.1 IP address and subnet mask 255.255.255.0. As the first IP address in the address range is located on the second NIC in the computer, the other client computers receive the other IPs in the same range, for example 192.168.137.2, 192.168.137.3 and so on.

In my case, I already have the static IP network using Network 10.0.0.0/8, I want to change default IP of 192.168.137.1/24 to 10.0.0.1/8. I managed to change the IP in Regedit - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\SharedAcces - parameters - ScopeAddress / StandaloneDHCPAddress

that works, but default IP 10.0.0.1 has the subnet mask 255.255.255.0, how to change the subnet mask of 255.0.0.0.

    Help, please...

  • MAC address range?

I have ESXi installed (downloaded on VMware) 3.5.  I created several virtual machines, and each has a MAC address that is generated automatically.  I reinstalled ESXi with the downloaded version of Dell and need to recreate my MAC addresses because the network I'm binding IPs and MACs.  But when I try to manually enter MAC addresses have been given to me by the first installation of VMware (like 00: 0C: 29:dc:83:b2), I get an error telling me manually specified addresses must be in the range 00:50:56!  WTF?  I really need to fix this, because it will be a giant PITA to get my IPs remapped to new Mac.

I get an error telling me manually specified addresses must be in the range 00:50:56!

UH that it explains quite clearly.  The mac address range is different on VM Server than on ESX.  They are different products, different ranges.  And no you can not change that.

  • R7000 can't access admin page and IP DHCP address range changed on its own

I noticed recently that my IP range internal from 192.168.1. * to 10.0.1 on its own. I think I got the router configured to auto update to new firmware, so I think that it updated itself and change its settings. When I try to access the admin page that nothing loads. I tried 10.0.1.1 and 192.168.1.1 and nothing comes up. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem recently. I will be eventually provided to the factory settings and set it back up like that, but I'm hoping to exhaust my options before you go this route. Any ideas?

I was able to determine the cause. He I warned when you say IP changes when there is a second device with DHCP. I noticed there was some new computers on my network when I watched the network file share. I use the Netgear Powerline device to do wired connections to my living room. What I think has happened is that my recently developed neighbouring apartment unit in place the internet and also uses a feature of current line. I noticed that my DNS suffix changed to a different address, which is the ISP instead of my router. I put 2 and 2 together and realized that my network was overlaps sound via the Powerline. I have never set up an encryption key on the Powerline online so it was still using the default settings and connecting to my neighbors by current carrier. When I added the encryption key, the problem disappeared and my network returned to normal. Next time I should follow the instructions when setting up new network equipment. Oops

  • RE6500 Setup\IP Address\Range Extender

I have a RE6500 used with a WRT AC 1900 as the router. The range is too far to reach the other floors and the pieces away from the House.

So the questions are: should I use a static IP address for the RE6500?

Should I Park the RE6500 and replace it with a Powerline Ethernet as the PLWK400 adapter?

Should I connect the RE6500 to a Powerline Ethernet adapter?

What I read on the Powerline Ethernet adapter, it is to be on the same circuit breaker. I guess that this circuit breaker is in the electric Panel. If I can't be on the same circuit breaker, and then abandon the idea.

Any other suggestion to reach the other side of the House?

You can use the RE6500 where it works better; with not too much or too little signal. I recommend giving it a static IP address so you can always connect.

Adapter PowerLine work at the level of the electrical panel, but may have problems between sub-panels. Of course, they work better on the same circuit. They work well with circuit breakers and the old or bad connection.

I recommend that you run a CAT5e cable (preferred) or by using the Powerline adapters. Then put an Access Point to the new location. I do not recommend combination unit PowerLine\Wireless bridge.

  • WRT1900AC - together open the ports of the specified destination IP address range

Is there a way to WRT1900AC to open a specified range of ports in the range of the specific destination ip address? I can see the options to open a port range to the local IP address on the LAN.

You use a VoIP devcie or is this T-Mobile phones through the router?

If you have a VoIP device as a microcell you can just put its IP address in the DMZ.

You can try to set 0-65535 in triggering Serial Port and see how it works. I use this for Xbox games and reach the status of nat OPEN for games.

  • RVL200 error message: DHCP IP address range into conflict with the LAN IP address

I have a RVL200 (firmware v1.0.12).  I use it mainly as a firewall, but also taking advantage of the DHCP server on this subject - at least I thought I was!

When I configured the RVL initially (several years ago), I have it has assigned an address 192.168.0.128 LAN IP and enabled the DHCP server.  The DHCP address for the allocation range is 192.168.0.100-. 149.  I have not assigned a DNS server address (don't remember why not - maybe - because of the same issue, I'm now face).  Since then, whenever I have to appear a new PC on my LAN I put client PC using DHCP to get an IP address... but I need to manually specify the DNS server address (which is logical in the light of what I have described so far).

The question I have now is that I want to assign the DNS server address on the DHCP server on the tab Configuration RVL, so my client DHCP PCs will automatically resume the DNS server address.   But when I enter the address of the local DNS (192.168.0.1), the RVL gives me the error message listed above (conflict IP range).  I can't understand why...

The "strange thing" I see is the DHCP of the RVL / status tab - at the top of this tab it lists the DHCP server address is 192.168.0.1.  This is the address of my DNS server / domain controller.  And the IP address of the domain controller is assigned statically (if it matters).  So I do not know why the RVL shows the DHCP server or my DNS server / DC, rather than showing his own address de.128.  Or why I get this error message when I try to enter the address of the DNS server?  Just as an experiment, I also tried entering the other IP addresses, just to see what happens (all on the local subnet)... and they all return the same error message.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

    Adam

    1. the address LAN IP of the RVL shouldn't be in the DHCP address pool. I guess that causes the error message when you try to change the settings for the DHCP server.

    2. I would say that you Flash the latest firmware 1.1.7 on your router. Read the release notes.

  • In FMC 6.1 IP address range

    Hello

How to add a range of IP addresses in the management of the power of fire Center version 6.1
    (Example: from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.50) range (192.168.1.1 - 192.168.1.50)

I can't find the proper syntax...

    Best regards

    Eric

    Eric,

Your example is the second address lower than the first. Reverse their and it should work for you.

See the following I just did on my 6.1 CME (opens in a new tab to zoom in):

  • VPN site to Site with the IP address range internal Natting?

This is our real internal LAN address: 10.40.120.0/26 (internal range) and I want to translate to

    Translated the address: 10.254.9.64.255.255.255.192 (Internal)

Our remote local address is: 10.254.5.64 site 255.255.255.192(Remote adresse Ip interne ajouter plage)

Based on the above parameters I did this configuration

    outside_cryptomap ip 10.254.9.64 access list allow 255.255.255.192 10.254.5.64 255.255.255.192
    policy-nat of ip 10.40.120.0 access list allow 255.255.255.192 10.254.5.64 255.255.255.192
public static 10.254.9.64 (inside, outside) - list of access policy-nat

I had all the phase 1 and Phase 2 required parameters and add public ip peer.

I had set up vpn by using ASDM before but this scenario is new for me, all I was wondering is there anything I need to properly configure Setup VPN

If you see TX increases but not RX which means that traffic is sent to the remote end however there is no response.

I suggest that you check with the remote end of VPN to see where is the problem. It is very probably the remote side.

  • Debug IP address range

I was wondering if there was a way to add a range of IP addresses to the 'Debugging IP addresses' page in the CF administrator.  I would use this feature to prevent most unwanted people to see messages, but everyone who needs access uses dynamic IP addresses or use a VPN so I can't have a list of a few IP addresses.  For example, I could add something like 123.123. *. * ?

    Thank you

    Matt

No, I don't think it will allow you to use anything except the actual IP addresses. You can accomplish what you want in the code quite easily, though, allowing the output of debugging universally, then turn it off using the CFSETTING tag and a bit of conditional logic.

That said, of course, you should not have debugging turned on in production because it will significantly degrade performance - if users see the debug output or not.

  • Allowing traffic SMTP on some IP address ranges

I have to configure my 506th PIX to allow only traffic to certain IP's SMTP goes to my mail server. However, I don't know about the right way to accomplish this task. If I put in the lists of access for each beach and anything else associated with SMTP that accomplish the task?

    Any help would be great!

    Thank you

    Michael: Laro

One thing that can help is to use "group objects. With group objects, you combine services networks and protocols (ftp, smtp, etc...). If you have a handful of IP addresses or subnets that you want to allow access to your SMTP e-mail server, you could do this is similar to the following. Remember, by default, NO traffic can come from the internet, through your external interface and in your private network. So, if you say that give permissions to following addresses, then only they and no one else. Here is an example of group objects.

    SMTP server address: 172.17.1.1

Addresses you want to allow SMTP: 32.18.7.0/24, 204.215.18.0/24 and 113.113.45.1 and 118.55.34.20.

pixfirewall (config) # network object-group MAIL

    pixfirewall(config-Network) network-object # 32.18.7.0 255.255.255.0

    pixfirewall(config-Network) network-object # 204.215.18.0 255.255.255.0

    pixfirewall(config-Network) # host network-object 113.113.45.1

    pixfirewall(config-Network) # host network-object 118.55.34.20

    Now create your access list:

pixfirewall (config) #-access list ENTRY-IN permit tcp object-group MAIL host 172.17.1.1 eq smtp

pixfirewall (config) #-access group ENTRY-IN in interface outside

This will allow the network and the ip addresses that you defined in the netgroup called 'MAIL' access to your mail server. I hope this helps.
