  I create a new planning application where I can have only 2 types of plan. I want to disable the third type of plan that is established not to when I press the button create, but the boxes are grayed out. Has anyone run into this situation before and I did fix you?

• EPMA planning application migration: no synchronization with the provisioning of users

  We are migrating Production applications to dev. We have a planning EPMA and Essbase application in both environments.
  We migrated artifacts in the file system in PROD (Shared services, EPMA, planning, Essbase) and Reporting. We have copied and pasted into the folder what in DEV.
  Then, we try to migrate objects in DEV file system applications. First of all we did successfully EPMA artifacts in the migration status report, and then we deployed the application in the planning without any error. (msg showing as synchronized deployment). After that we had shared services, it is not
  MSG for error report status of migration:

• Loading data from the planning application sample

  I created an example of planning application in the workspace (V 11.1.1.3). By default, they dimension 'Year' the year of departure as FY11. Whereas, loading data from file 'SampleApp_data.txt' that comes with the installation is the year of departure as FY09. Then, when I insert data in environmental assessment (form free loading), there is an error that the FY09 member is not present. Does anyone know how can I approach properly load the sample data? I tried to replace by FY11 by FY12 FY10 FY09 and so forth in Notepad, but the process still hang on the first attempt.

  The easiest way is not sample application tick the options and change the calendar 2008 or 2009, go to the finsh tab, then return to the first screen and sample application tick, then finished, it will create with the year of departure.

• How to load dimensions and members in the planning application

  I'm trying to load dimensions and members in planning. I know that size of loading is not recommended by Essbase but I wanted to give it a try. I tried to load the dimensions through rule files, but it threw an error that the "members do not exist in the database. Is this an indication that the data may not be loaded at all the in the planning your application through Essbase.

  If it is a planning application, you must load the metadata/dimension planning first. You cannot load the metadata directly to Essbase as it will be overwritten when you refresh planning.

  You can read the documentation to understand how planning works. Planning is an interface that sits on top on Essbase. However, Planning metadata are stored in database tables and it is would be synch with Essbase via Hyperion Planning refresh.

  In order to load the metadata to the planning, I suggest you to open a session on planning and attempting to manually build the dimensions first to know how the planning interacts with Essbase. You can load the metadata in planning thanks to:

  1. manually
  2 ODI: You will need to reverse the planning your application and then use it to load the metadata
  3 schema utility load on planning server.

  Remember, all the planning is done via interface planning interviews and not by Essbase.

  No, you can't. Given the nature of these tools are quite different, it wouldn't make sense too since even if you could. However, you can create a planning application and assign most of the dimensions in the view of the planning application. Would be in this case having synchronized HFM and planning applications. Obviously you're going to build in all the other features (forms, business rules, task lists, etc.) again in the planning.

  I recently installed all EMP 11.1.1.2 components into a single system on windows XP system.
  Installation and Configuration succeeded. But when I login in the workspace I do not get an option to create a new planning application.
  IAM opening a session with the default admin user name and password.

  Also, make sure that you put in service the admin with the user with HSS from the creator of the Application and the Dimension Editor roles.

• 11.1.2.3 EMP. Creation of Planning Application error

  I get the following error when you create a new planning Application... "Year error occurred while creating the application.

  Nothing is currently logged into the following field: C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\epmsystem1\diagnostics\logs\services

  It is a single computer deployment.

  I configured the database of planning against the R & a database (read somewhere in one of the wires to do).  I can see table HSPSYS in the search and a database.

  I also have good R & A services started (are they necessary for the creation of a planning application?)

  I R & a module enabled in the workspace (is it necessary to create a planning application)?

  I have created a new source of data pointing to the database of R & (read somewhere in one of the threads and not quite sure if this is correct).

  Someone can tell me 'exactly' how things should be configured for planning and search a database so that I can create a planning application?

  Also, what services should be on?

  You must create a data source for planning pointing to a diagram or a SQL database that is not used by another product. In addition, do not use the diagram of system planning because it is a very bad idea. the data source has pointers to SQL and Essbase and as long as you have an account with privileges to read/write on both sides, you should be good. Aside from that, if everything works it must create the application. You can view the log file of planning (you don't really need to look at the R & A log files).

• How to remove the EPMA planning dimension

  I have a deployed by EPMA planning application. I have also some web forms and BRs in the application. I have to delete 2 dimensions of the application. Is it possible to do this through EPMA or SQL tables? I have found a method which talks about the deletion of references in the planning tables, but they are applied to conventional planning. Someone at - he had experience doing in EPMA?

  Please follow the steps below to delete a dimension of planning an application. I hope it helps

  MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE A BACKUP OF YOUR APPLICATIONBEFORE TO TRY THIS PROCEDURE.
  You need to remove all the children first, then the dimension.
  If you have the dimension of forms, you may need to also (after step 5) go in the hsp_formobj_def_mbr table and remove the allreferences of this ID of the object. Then delete the low id in the thehsp_form_layout table. Recycle planning services.
  Procedure:
  If you create a dimension in planning and you want to delete, here's how you can manually remove SQL. We recommend that only someone familiar with relational databases attemptthis.
  The following assumptions are made on thedimension:
  * No form were all references to thedimension.
  * Any attribute dimensions have beenremoved of the dimension.
  * All members have been removed from the thedimension.
  * All access security has been removed fromdimension.
  * Any aliases associated with the dimension has been deleted.
  In this example, we created a dimension called DummyDimension.
  1. Open Enterprise Manager for SQL server
  2. open the database with your planning application
  3. open the HSP_OBJECT table
  4. you need to find the line that carries the name of dimension, that you want to remove
  5. take note of the OBJECT_ID
  6. open the HSP_MEMBER table
  7 find and remove all lines that have an equal MEMBER_ID to the OBJECT_ID of step 5
  8. close the Table HSP_MEMBER
  9. open the HSP_MRU_MEMBERS table
  10. find and delete all the lines that have an equal DIM_ID to the OBJECT_ID of step 5
  11 close the HSP_MRU_MEMBERS table
  12. open the HSP_DIMENSION table
  13. find and remove all lines that have an equal DIM_ID to the OBJECT_ID of step 5.
  14. close the HSP_DIMENSION table
  15. also delete it is the reference to the HSP_UNIQUE_NAMES table.
  16 remove the line in the HSP_OBJECT table that you found in step 4.
  17 close the HSP_OBJECT table.
  18 open ASA for the application and remove the size of the necessary Essbase outline.
  19. restart the application of Planning Server.
  Now when you open the application in the planning dimension is removed.
  The next step is to perform a refresh to do of course planning and Essbase are synchronized.

• EPM 11.1.2.1 - error of creation of the Planning application system

  I'm having a strange problem when creating a planning application.
  
  In the workspace, I created a new source of data and after a planning application. After I pressed the finish, I received the following message:
  
  There is no such thing as X the admin user for this application
  
  Congratulations!
  You have created a new planning application.
  
  The application is created in Essbase. Admin has security defined in the application is created automatically.
  
  The application does not appear in any application group to Shared Services.
  
  I can't remove the application in the workspace. It says Application cannot be deleted, check the logs for more details.
  
  I'll post the logs later today, probably see them that someone can point me in a good sense.

  and look at the 'Filter to limit the users' property, you can include a filter that exclude certain AD user as admin.

• What are the front of the backend steps to redeploy a direct EPMA planning ap

  Hi all
  Can anyone outline considerations/steps to redeploy an EPMA planning application in an operational environment? Should users have logged on to the system? Should the planning application be put into Administration mode? Must the DB of Essbase planning be put in sleep or users out of it first? What I have to restart the planning later? Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.

  Everyone has their own point of view on this but I think if possible update should be made out of opening hours, I know that's not always possible.
  A update of planning can take awhile if dense member changes and it's a great application of planning.
  You do not have to restart the planning and you do not ' put essbase read only as planning update supports the essbase part.
