OEM upgrade with a new key

I have a win7 OEM machine that has a broken mother (broken video extender) integrated, I have another win7 OEM machine which is a place with a different motherboard model is anyway to transfer program licenses. The most recent machine already has a windows key, so this isn't the question, I just want to be able to keep some third party software.

I tried just on the HARD drive but I get a blue screen, and system repair said: it is not compatible.
Will it work if I run sysprep before swapping hard drives?
Is there a real solution for this?

If you purchase a retail license key, Yes, all you need to do is the following:

Click Start, right click on computer

Click on properties

Scroll down to the Windows Activation

Click on the link change product key

Enter the new product key and click next to activate via the Internet.

  • will I have problems if I replace the OEM motherboard with a new?

Someone at - it successfully system OEM motherboard replace?

I'm fixing a child 6 years out of warranty HP m7160n Media Center PC with a motherboard failed.  If I replace the MB with a new one, I have software problems?  My goal is just to make a quick motherboard replacement and restore the computer to the owner with that little pain as possible.  What I don't want to do, is to have spend $90 (HP parts store wants $250) on a replacement motherboard and then have to deal with software problems then currently installed programs or the operating system.  It did not come with a Windows Media Center CD, everything is in the HP recovery partition the existing drive.

It's my understanding that even though I am an end user, I should have no problem getting it registered/validated until I replace the motherboard with the same make and model that came in the original system.  Thanks in advance for your answers.

A motherboard with like-for-like replacement should be no. emits either with software, drivers etc although you'll probably have to revalidate.

Problems arise only if the new hardware is substantially different from the original, in particular with the chipset of the card. That being said however in many cases you should be able to boot and install the drivers required during the initial start-up. The only exception is the player interface as this may generate a blue screen INACCESIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE and the only way around this is to pre-install the new drivers on the old system before the change, though if the reason for this change is a dead motherboard that does not help.

I once replaced a mobo with a failed IDE port by plugging a PCI one which enabled him to start, install the drivers for the card, install the drivers for the new Board of Directors and then replaced the Board of Directors.

Regarding the licensing issues, it's a moot point on how you can replace before it ceases to be that a repair is disabled so the EULA. I saw someone claims that he could not get a direct replacement mobo a generic would not fit the case of mark and so it "replaces" the case as well. In other words it did take out the HARD drive and put it into a new clone system. Not permitted under this EULA.

  • REACTIVATE WITH THE NEW KEY

I've owned this licensed copy of Windows XP Edition family for more than 10 years. It is not installed on a different machine than the one I have intalled on today. I'm fixing my brother-brother Office who caught a virus and needed to install a new copy of Windows (because it doesn't have its CD now). I registered and activated without problem and then apply the updates more than 120 and repair almost all device driver problems. Now, when you apply the next set of updates, I tells me the key I have been activated too many times and I have to get a new key (which means the purchase of Windows 7, apparently). License written I can use this software on one PC and there is no limit or an indication that I can activate only a certain number of times. This is unacceptable. I paid a lot of money for this OS and I expect to continue to use it until it turns off support next year.

    Help, please.

  • Computer upgraded with the new motherboard - Vista now invalid License - how to re - activate?

I installed a new motherboard & now my computer is telling me that my Windows Vista isn't a valid licensed product. When I enter my product key it tells me that it is in use by another user.

    Ideas:

    • You have problems with programs
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

As long as you are trying to install a version of Vista OEM on your new motherboard then try to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)
    1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4
    (2) press the ENTER"" key.
    (3) select your "country" in the list.
    (4) choose the option "activate phone".
    5) stay on the phone and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

  • How does the OEM? Can I use an OEM disc with a product key, I already have?

So I just bought a laptop preloaded with Windows 7 32 bit. I would like to install clean with win7 64-bit, but I don't have an installation disc and I can't find one online that is not cracked which leads me to the conclusion to go out and buy the thing. So the question is: if I'm going out and buying an OEM version, can I use it to clean install, using my previous product code provided with my laptop? Or is the OEM software and key, it comes with a part of the binding process which binds to a machine? Any info would be much appreciated. ~ Vince

If you buy the exact same OEM version as your current license (Windows 7 Home Premium - Windows 7 Home Premium) it will work.

If you have difficulties to activate Windows 7 open the Windows Activation Wizard in Windows 7 to use the phone and activate Windows:
During the Windows 7 installation at the entrance of your product keys page, do not enter your key and uncheck the "automatically activate when online.
    1. When you reach the desktop, click Start, then in the search box type: slui.exe 4
    2. press enter on your keyboard
    3. Select your country.
    4. Select the option to activate the phone, then call and hold to a real person.

Difference between a full license and an OEM license
    Windows OEM licenses:
are related to the first computer installed on and are non-transferable
cannot make a room upgrade from older versions of Windows
do not offer any free support from Microsoft
allow the hardware upgrades of all components except for the motherboard (unless, of course, because the card mother original becomes defective)

  • The upgrade with the new computer

I've been with Photoshop since version 2.5.1. I've updated by CD receiver and downloads on Adobe's Web site. I plan to buy a new computer and upgrade to PS CS6. How much of my older versions should I install to be able to buy an "upgrade"?

You don't need to install an older version to buy an upgrade.  To activate the upgrade, you will just need to have the serial number of the product you qualified for the upgrade.

  • Where to download the Windows 7 upgrade with legitimate product key?

I bought a legitimate product key. Where can I download Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade on the Microsoft site?  I can't find where to download my update on the Microsoft site? Can anyone help?

There is no download for Windows 7 unless you purchase a license on the Microsoft Store.  You should never buy a Windows 7 product key without receiving a genuine Microsoft Windows 7 installation DVD or a configuration of a Microsoft web site at the address authorized file. Carey Frisch

  • Need help with Windows 7 key.

I have a laptop that I had to change the HARD drive due to a complete failure.  I had a Windows 7 key I know has been good and have never used, purchased as part of a package of pc 3.   Now the installation tells me that this is not a valid key.  I paid almost $150.00 for this set of 3 installs for Windows 7, about 5 years ago.

The old HDD is dead, I tried to connect with a USB key and nothing.   The laptop was working fine with WIndows 10, then the portable HARD drive is simply dead.  I need help with a new key, or at least the one I have to work.  The new drive HARD won't have not all partitions or any attached former windows key.  I can't get past the check of Windows screen.

    Need help please.

You must use the product key located on the COA sticker (at the bottom of the laptop, sometimes inside the battery cover or access. Once you have located the product key, and then follow the instructions below to change the key of the key from the factory to the key on the sticker.

I have Dreamweaver CS6 but want to update for cc, how ever I did mine and I sign in and upward at the site web adobe and want to use css Designer because with my courses, I do and they use CC. How can I get the upgrade with this new refund. Thank you

There is no way to update the version of perpetual license / DWCS6 drive to the creative cloud, they are two completely separate programs. There used to be a discount for the Creative Suite owners switch to CC, but that ship has sailed.

If you want to the CSS designer, you will need a subscription here: pricing and membership creative cloud plans | Adobe Creative Cloud

  • I'll be able to download the ISO of Windows 7 from Microsoft with a new never used OEM key?  Some places said it would work with other said he wouldn't. It has never been used on another computer.  Looking to do this for a dual boot via boot camp.

Can I download an iso of Windows site with a new unused OEM key

You get different answers because some OEM keys are tied to specific hardware, such as Dell or HP.

  • I've just upgraded my pc to windows 7. I tried to install my copy of vista on another pc, but I'm told that the validation key is not good. Do I need a new key?

need a new key for installation to install my old copy of vista on a new computer. I upgraded windows 7 which was the copy of vista on the pc

And if your copy of Vista was preinstalled on your old computer, it is classified as an OEM license is not transferable.

The license of Vista OEM is related to the original computer it is installed on and dies with the computer.
You cannot transfer it to another computer/laptop.

You can transfer a license of Vista to retail, not an OEM license.
