OfficeJet 6100 ePrinter: hplip just installed 3600 entries in my download directory?

I installed hplip 3.15.7 update to see if it solved some weird problems. Most of the time, the result is positive. However when I look at my downloads directory usually to clean it now has 18 directories and files 3570 +. Are these for real or just some scratch results which can be deleted? The installation process has been by HP management.

The system is Xubuntu 15.04, 64-bit, kernel 3.19.0 - 25, an upgrade of 14.04.

A secondary issue is that the "Print to PDF file" printer has been deleted. This seems to be recovered but why HP was interested in her?

I deleted the added files (except for one) and downloads files and a repetition of hp-check - t reports that he has everything he needs.  Test page looks good. So I guess I got.  I added the generic-CUPS-PDF-printer (which for free has been deleted), and it looks OK on a test page.

The folder contained about 70 files and required ABLE to remove. Test page always looks OK.

Sunshyn2005 - to your point - Linux provides a temporary folder that is 1) well known and clearly identified and by default 2) is empty at each regular restart.

  • OfficeJet 6100 x (H611a) will not be re - connect to the eprint Server

My printer HP Officejet 6100 (H611a) has been connected to the server eprint for over a year.  A few days ago when I tried to print from my tablet, he told me that I was no longer connected to the server.

When I went to the page of the built-in web server, it showed that I had lost the connection and was an icon that says 'fix it '.  I tried the reconnection to the server by clicking on this icon for several days without success.  He would say "unable to connect to the server.

Finally, I tried to cancel the registration of the printer and tried to start over.  Now whenever I try to save the printer it says "unable to connect to the server.

I tried this for about two weeks, without success.  Any help would be greatly appricated.

    Hi scthom,

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support.  I understand that you get a connection error message when you try to connect to the web services of HP to use ePrint.

My feeling is that there was an update to your router or modem firmware and this update is causing the printer to communicate with HP.  Please define Manual of the printer an IP address manually and DNS servers.  I've included a link to another post with measures, including screenshots, of how to do it.  Don't worry that the screenshots are for an Officejet 8600 the steps are the same.

Please let me know how it goes.

  • Connection Officejet 6100 to Wifi with the Mavericks

I have Mac OS 10.9.2 (Mavericks) and have installed all available updates.  I just bought a HP Officejet 6100.  The configuration software supplied with the printer does not work on the Mavericks.  I can use the printer via USB, but have no idea how to do to connect the printer to my wifi network.  All the instructions I found point using the diskette supplied with the printer (not compatible with the Mavericks) or assume that I already connected the printer to my network wifi (which is the problem that I am trying to solve).

I had HP products in the past and if it is connected to the network, but it supports WPS and has a touchscreen user interface.  This printer does not seem to be supported.  The wifi light just keeps blinking.

I don't like on ePrint, etc..  I want just the printer connected to my wifi so I can print from any number of computers on this network.

    Help, please.

    Thank you

It wasn't very nice, that we were just trying to help.  Don't tell you specifically that your router has WPS.

On your printer, press and hold the button wireless for 3 seconds.  Within 2 minutes, press the the router WPS button.

Wait about 2 minutes. If the printer connect successfully, the wireless light will stop blinking but stays on.

From there, you can connect your printer on your Mac:

-Go to System Preferences > print & Scan
-Select the sign more to add a printer. Select the default tab on the top of the window. Search for the printer, select it, and then beside the dropdown 'Use', select the model of the printer (not AirPrint). Wait for the 'Add' button becomes available. Until it clicks.

  • Printer HP Officejet 6100 (h611a) can not find the WiFi network

My printer HP Officejet 6100 has recently lost its eprint connection and would not reconnect.  I asked for help and told

try to use an IP address manually.  I tried this according to the instructions provided to me for the manual IP address, subnet mask and so on.  I selected apply.

The restarted printer and now the printer cannot be found or will not connect to my

    wireless network.

I tried to power on the printer, the modem and the router so that it would reset but the printer would not still find or connect to the wireless network.  The little blue light on the printer for wireless connection just continues to blink.

Because it connects to the wireless network I can not go back in the server web part to cancel the IP address manually and other changes.

Is there a way I can reset this?  Or get my printer to connect to the wireless network.

    Steve

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600: OfficeJet Pro ePrint 8600 - cannot select paper tray - HP needs to fix this problem

This is a limitation of the software that HP needs to fix. I bought this machine multifunction largely for two features, ePrint, and two bins to paper. I had released two paper because I often need to print on paper thick and does not want to manually load the cards into the printer whenever I don't want to print on thicker paper. Unfortunately tray 2 is not compatible with card stock so I keep copy regular paper in tray 2 (tray 2 is defined as the default tray) and I keep card stock in Tray 1, which is compatible with cards. The problem and the limitation is when I am traveling and want to use ePrint. Even if my default tray on the printer is 2, which is where the paper is, if I use ePrint to print, HP ePrint by default tray 1, which means that I print on thick paper. This isn't only a problem when you travel. One of the advantages of the ePrint, in theory, is I can print on my desktop at home via ePrint printer when connected to my VPN employers. I've had this machine for two years. It seems that HP would have an update now to solve this problem. So far, nothing. Frustrating!

    Hello @HudsonOH,

Thanks for posting in the forums of HP and welcome.

I understand that you are not able to choose your paper tray of your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium e-all-in-one using ePrint. I would like to help with this, as much as I can.

Unfortunately, when you simply send an e-mail to the printer, you cannot change the print settings, because it uses the default settings on the ePrint server.

However, if you have an Android or iOS device, you can download the HP ePrint app. This allows you to add the printer by ePrint e-mail address and send print jobs when you are not with the computer (need you an active wifi or data connection, however). The application also allows to select print settings if you can ensure that you don't waste card stock paper you loaded in the machine.

To download the app on iOS, simply open the app store and type 'HP ePrint' in the search bar.

To download the app on Android, you can open the store game (or game of Google) and search for "HP ePrint.

Once you have installed the application, you can add your printer via his email ePrint:

    1. open the ePrint application and select OK on the demo screens.

    2. Once you reach the home screen, it will show your printer name, or not find printers (depending on whether you are at home with your printer, or on the go). Select this check box.

    3. you will see a tab at the top that says all, select it.

    4. press on the + symbol to add a printer.

    5. Enter your ePrint e-mail address and select Add.

To print using the application, return to the home screen and select an item to print one of the options listed. Note: If you are on iOS, you can even add your e-mail information in the application so that you can print emails.

In addition, you can sign up here for updates on the new firmware and software for your printer, in which case no alternative workaround should arise: stay connected with updates from HP

    I hope this helps!

  • Just installed the new Win10 great Update. When iTunes will connect with Gracenote?

Just installed the new major update of Win10. When will be able to connect with Gracenote when you import music from a CD to iTunes?

It doesn't seem to be a link between issues with Gracenote and updates of Windows 10.  The last - which is usually accompanied by a cryptic error "no error" message, or one that says 'User unregistered for use online' - usually come from corruption to one of iTunes preference files.  Try the following:

    1. Quit iTunes
    2. In the Windows search box, enter %APPDATA%\microsoft\windows\sendto in the address bar, press .  This will open the C:\Users\username\AppData\Roamingfolder.  Then open the Apple Computer and in this framework the iTunes file.
    3. Delete the following files:
      • CD Info.cidb
      • com.apple.iTunes.Gracenote.plist
    4. Restart iTunes
    5. Insert a CD and see if details are now correctly retrieved from Gracenote

    If this does not work:

    1. In iTunes, select Edit > preferences and a note (or take a screenshot) of your settings preferences in all tabs
    2. Quit iTunes
    3. Repeat step 2 in the previous procedure to open the C:\Users\of\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes user namefolder.
    4. Delete the following file:
      • iTunesPrefs.xml
    5. Restart iTunes
    6. Restore your settings to preferences iTunes to those that you noted in step 1.
    7. Insert a CD and see if details are now correctly retrieved from Gracenote

If no si aucun succes success so far, try to repeat the two procedures above, using records C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\iTunes and C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\Apple Computer\iTunes.

If it wasn't (and most people reported that the problem is solved by one of the two procedures above):

    1. Quit iTunes
    2. In Windows, select Start > Control Panel > Add / Remove Programs.  Look for the entry of iTunes, right click and select Rrepar.
    3. When this process is complete, restart iTunes
    4. Insert a CD and see if details are now correctly retrieved from Gracenote

If the problem persists, you may uninstall and reinstall iTunes - see tips to the user of turingtest2 on troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows Update for more details of the steps necessary to remove completely all the components of iTunes before reinstalling.

  • Is there a hp officejet 6100 software for OS x 10.9?

When I ran the CD I received a message that it is not compatible with the newer than 10.6 or close. [10.7 in fact]

I guess that my Mac installed the driver because it provides all the functional point of view for USB connection. It seems to work OK.

I pulled out my old, broken and decrepit Windows XP computer to connect my Officejet 6100 printer to my network nine. It seems to work perfectly with this regard as well. I hope I don't have to do this whenever the power supply is bad or my ISP fails.

I solved my problem insofar as it apparently is solveable. I described the solution as a review of the issue.

  • OfficeJet 6100 Wireless: Officejet 6110 does not print Gmail or IE screens

My officejet 6100 works wireless.  I have a Pavilion with Windows 7.  Until two days ago, I was able to print any screen, document, or Gmail by selcting 'print '.  Now, everything I print is MS docs and some downloaded version printable screens of Gmail, for example, theatre tickets, I can also print the "test page".  When I select print for a response from Gmail, for example, or an IE screen and press "print" on the print window, nothing happens.  My wife, who is printing wireless since his laptop has the same problem.  I downloaded and installed the latest drivers for Officejet 6011.  Restarting my computer has not solved the problem.  It seems to me that the wireless function is selective in what it prints.  Thoughts?

Do not take into account 9/21 announcement (repetitive to 19/9).  This one did because I couldn't find the post above to edit and add more relevant information.  However, I finally solved the problem by detaching the printer and reinstall using the second option for printers in my control panel.  However, still do not know why wireless ignored my browser while accepting paper screens.

  • HP Officejet 6100 Wireless: print hp 6100 but not Gmail or IE Windows

My Officejet 6100 is on wireless network, and the blue light says that it is connected to the radio.  I can print documents from Microsoft and others generated by electronic mail, but cannot print e-mail (Gmail) or all screens.  Until yesterday, all the print functions worked.  What about other documents, it's that the print selection screen.  I click on 'print' and nothing happens.  Nothing is put on hold.  My HP Pavilion running on Windows 7.  Recently I recharged having officejet software to completely reload Windows 7, so there the drivers up to date.  My link with the wireless is via ethernet and wife grace wireless.  It can also print screens or e-mails.  I printed just a test page successfully from 'printer properties '.  I cn use the USB connection, but it does not help my wife. Thoughts?

Finally solved the problem by removing the printer and reinstall using an alternate option given by HP.  It was not the first of the two given, but he managed to connect my Internet to printing.

  • OfficeJet 6100: HP Officejet 6100 configured for wireless than no. Longer exists. How to reconfigure it?

    Hello

I have an Officejet 6100 which was my computer classroom. After his retirement, I brought the printer home. I tried to configure it to print via my WiFi at home. When I print the diagnostic report, it shows that the printer is always set to the WiFi of the school. However, the school, and therefore the WiFi, no longer exist. Is it possible to reconfigure the printer, or simply remove the connection with previous WiFi? If so, how that would accomplish this?

I just installed recognition speech dragon, but when I try to open this msg of error says "cannot find media device - Hosea t check if your computer has a sound card or if the wave multimedia component is missing from the sound card.»  my monitor has built-in speakers and I can listen to music, news, etc.

You have a microphone?  He is looking for an INPUT device, not a one OUTPUT.  Also, check device manager to make sure that you have not a driver problem.  To get the Device Manager, click Start and right click on computer, then click Properties.  Click Device Manager, and then look for entries with? or! beside them, which indicates a driver problem.  Finally check that your microphone is plugged in the right place on the computer, unless it is based.

I hope this helps.  Good luck.

    Hi @Dsgirl

I did some research specific to this error and have found several possible solutions. I will need to gather further information from you if. What operating system and version you have Mac or Windows?

    A few things you can try;

Microsoft Fix it- What it fixes...

    • Registry keys damaged on 64-bit operating systems
    • Corrupt registry keys that control the update data
    • Problems that prevent the installation of new programs
    • Problems that prevent existing programs are completely uninstalled or updated
    • Problems that are blocking you from uninstalling a program through the item add or remove programs (or programs and features) in Control Panel

Remove the update of KB2918614 associated with an update of security impacting facilities MSI (Microsoft Installer). - Breaks KB2918614 Windows Service install

^ You can either restore back to a time before August because it is when the update would be installed, or you can manually remove it through your control panel, the add and remove programs Section. You will need to click on show updates at the top to view installed updates.

This is not a bug with the HP software. Take a look at the search results I got when I typed the error in Google; key not valid for use in the specified date.

Many customers have all kinds of software to install because of this problem.

If my suggestions do not resolve the issue, I recommend you contact Microsoft or reach out to the Microsoft Community. If, however, one of my recommendations to resolve the issue please let me know if we can share the solution with others.
