  I have a Motorola SM56 speakerphone modem, I went from dial-up to the Road Runner.   When I open Device Manager and expand the sound column it lists "High definition Audio Device" (manufacturer of Microsoft), there are 4 that say "NVIDIA High Definition Audio" then there is one that says "Unimodem Half-Duplex Audio Device.  When I open the properties of the Unimodem device it says ' device working properly. "

  Let me start at the top under "General".  It lists the name of the device: Unimodem half-duplex Audio device.    Device type: audio, video and game controllers;    Manufacturer: Microsoft;    Location: Motorola SM56 Speakerphone modem.

  My speakers worked very well before I went.   I tried updating the driver but he came back with "best driver already installed.  It is a desktop PC, it is about 6 years old, but has been revised, graphics card new, updated to power, new 4 GB ram I think.  The hard drive is 1 TB.   I'm running Windows 7 Pro.  I forgot to mention, if I open a WMV file and volume in the taskbar commands, I see the green light moving.  The green light on the actual speakers turned on, just no sound.  It seems to me that the old speakers do not like the new modem from Time Warner.   Are plug you the speakers into the modem?

  They must be connected in making your computer speaker, usually a light green color (read the manual of the machine). Go to control panel / sounds / playback and make sure that the type of speakers you selected as the default device.
  Audio device drivers updated its better to not use MS Update (it is not). Re-post giving your machine make name and exact model number (for example HP, Inspiron, ABC1234 etc.).

  I found the working version, and it is version F.08.

  Supposedly new version have different Active cables, and this is the reason why the screen is dark.

  So, case closed, everything is perfect.

  IR remote no longer works after that the computer goes to sleep.  I use Windows Media Center (Vista) to the TV and use the remote a lot.  The ONLY way to make it work is to restart the machine, which is a PITA.

  I have a new HP Officejet 6700. My operating system is Mac OS X v8.5.8.

  I went to scan a document as a jpg file and it scanned and was recorded in my computer (wireless).

  The problem is that all the documents have been enlarged during the process, therefore, only about 1/3 of the document is scanned. How can I reduce the scan so that the entire document (8 "x 10") is visible in the scanned jpg?

  Also note that this enlargement is not the case when recording in pdf format, but the analysis is the only black and white, not the color of my document was. The scan jpg, although enlarged, was at least in color. Help! THX.

  I have the Foglight for SQL Server cartridge. I recently changed the service account that is running the SQL Server engine and SQL Server Agent from a local account to a domain account. Everything works fine on the SQL Server side.

  No configuration changes have been made on the Foglight end, and none should be necessary Foglight is configured to use a separate service for SQL account both OS level followed. This account has always been in the local "Administrators" Group on the database server, as well as a "sysadmin" on the side of SQL Server server role.   I've updated Workstation version 8 to 10.  I had several virtual machines of Windows 7 x 64 I then updated with the latest VMWare tools (v9.6.1.1378637).  Now, one of the virtual machines will not automatically resize correctly.  (Three other virtual machines with the same o/s resize correctly and with Windows Server 2008 resizes correctly.)  Workstation is set to Autosize > Autofit guest.  The resized correctly VM before VMWare Tools has been updated.  In other words, the auto resizing feature worked for the virtual machine within the 10 workstation when the previous version of VMWare Tools was installed.  Upgrade VMWare Tools triggered behavior.  When I use the 'Fit Guest Now' view of the virtual machine command flashes but does not resize.  When the my computer window is resized, the prompt is not resized.

  I tried the following:

  • Uninstalled and reinstalled VMWare tools.
  • Confirmed VMWare Tools (vmtoolsd.exe) is set to start automatically and runs.
  • Changed the display of the virtual machine settings to a custom resolution and then to 'host to use setting for monitors '.
  • Attempted to change the resolution of the guest, but he won't go high 1920 x 1440 (it should be set to 2556 x 1496 based on the resolution of the other virtual machines that resize correctly).

  Update of material compatibility on the virtual machine to which auto resize has stopped working has helped auto resize again.  Hardware compatibility was 6, 5-7.x.  I've updated to be compatible with 10.

  The question remains as to why three other similar virtual machines (with the same compatibility level of 6, 5-7.x) should not be updated so that the automatic resizing to work.

  I didn't want to answer my own question but hope this helps people who have encountered this particular problem.
