  Just bought a Dell Inspiron with Windows 64-bit 10.  Cannot do print on my Officejet 6500 E709n.

  * I can print to this printer even using another computer Dell laptop running Windows 7

  * I have installed and uninstalled the printer a couple of different

  2. Using a detection printer 10 Windows "add a printer".

  The results are the same.

  • Never test pages print (no reaction from the printer at all)
  • Printing and scanning doctor detects the printer and all the controls are ok.  Test page does not work, but it will print an internal test page

  Another symptom, if I right click on the printer icon and select "Printer Preferences", I get a windows error window:

  Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I read your post and see that you cannot print after you install the printer on Windows 10. I will definitely do my best to help you.   It does not resemble drivers for the printer installed correctly.

  Run all the updates of Windows on the computer.

  I would say to uninstall the printer software. Unlock the hidden administrator account, then install the printer on this account:

  Note: Do not connect the USB cable until you are prompted during the installation.
  Go to your Start menu and in the box "search programs and files", type CMD.
  CMD will fill as an option to search above, just right-click on it and "run as Administrator".
  Once opens in CMD (command prompt), type net user administrator / Active: Yes and press ENTER.
  Then, close CMD and then restart your computer.
  When your computer is on the newspaper in the new account which should show. It will be called Administrator and will not have a password on it.
  If your computer automatically connects to your account after reboot than to go to your Start menu, click the arrow next to 'shutdown' and choose 'change user '. Now log on to the administrator account, that we have just released.
  Under the administrator account, install the printer software.
  Test the printer.
  To disable the Admin account start at step 1 and type net user administrator / active: No..

  The manufacturer of a product is responsible for all products in favor of said product any operating system, you choose to run.  However, it is also their choice which operating systems they support - so if you choose to use an operating system, they do not support... you end up the losers.
   
  Research on the Wacom web pages (USA and Asia so far) - your device has been supported under Windows 7 modified.  You can try to download Windows 7 device drivers/software and install using the Compatibility Mode for Windows 7 in Windows 8.  There is no guarantee of results and your first point of contact for support for the Bamboo Pen (CTL-460) always is Wacom.

  The US site has latest driversDriver 5.2.5 - 5a (RC) for Windows 7, Vista XP & (32 & 64 bit versions)] and that one is probably your best choice. Save it on your computer, change the compatibility on the exe for ' Windows 7 ' and then run it to try and install the driver in compatibility mode. The results can be anywhere from failure to success to all the features. In the end - if Wacom does not have a Windows 8 out driver for the device - your it peeling.

  I am running Windows 7 Home Premium on an HP Pavilion Slimline with a HP Officejet 6500 E709n wireless printer.  Windows updates were installed and security software is in place.  System has been scanned for viruses and malware and detected no cases.

  Whenever I have re-start, the system attempts to update the printer driver.  Whenever he fails.

  When I checked the printer manually, it has a functional driver and I can print with it.

  I looked in Device Manager and found the printer listed under other devices.  Instead of one entry, there are seven pages of the same printer in the list, each time with an exclamation mark next to it, indicating a problem.  I think whenever I have re-boot and it does not find the driver, it could create another entry.  I was not able to remove these entries.  I tried to delete the printer, uninstall the printer and related software, running CC cleaner and system mechanic, but I was not able to clear these entries redundant printer or to stop the attempt to update autopilot that occurs after re-booting.  I appreciate any suggestions to fix this problem.  Thank you!

  I had my Officejet 6500 E709n for about 4 + years and use it wireless network with my network router. I upgraded my laptop (Toshiba Satellite) (as of December 2014) 8.1 to win to win 10 this week. The upgrade itself went smooth but I had to update the driver from the HP website. Now, I noticed that when I take my Windows logon, I see a pop-up that my HP printer is paused. I noticed it first last night and again this morning. What gives? I thought about posting this here, first to check if anyone else has noticed this.

  I have a hp officejet 6500 e709n connected via usb to a pc running windows xp.  It has stopped printing.  I tried to uninstall and reinstall the printer software.  Now, when you try to install, I get the screen of "connect your device now' which indicates that the printer is not connected.  I've tried different USB ports on the pc with the same result.  Has anyone else encountered this situation?

  Uninstalled and reinstalled several times and finally got running again.  This can be closed.

  Great!  I'm glad it works for you. Say your question, you're right.  The E709n came out before the implementation of ePrint, so it doesn't have the same opportunities of access to the service.  As the Home & Biz app uses the local network to connect, it will allow you to print from mobile devices to the E709 on this network.

  tried to fix it by manually forcing Windows updated my drivers (officejet 6500 E709n series). The driver was updated, but no result.

  Scanning with Windows fax and scan (do not use Twain AFAIK) works fine, but produces no PDF.

  I understand that you are having problems after update to Win 10 of scanning to PDF. I would like to help.

  I'm afraid that HP Solution center may not work in the Windows 10 environment due to some compatibility problems.

  I suggest that you use HP Scan and capture request instead. Capture and scanning HP is a simple application that captures photos or documents to your computer's built-in camera or scanning HP device.  These images can be previewed, edited, saved, and shared to other applications as well.

  Go to http://hp.care/2bUVkrw to download and install the windows scanning and Capture app.
