OfficeJet 6700: Ink yellow

I just replaced all my ink cartridges.  My yellow ink is not printing.  I cleaned the heads, but no luck.  The old yellow cartridge not print.  Help?

Hello @ThruHiker,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you are not able to print Yellow on your HP Officejet 6700 Premium e-all-in-one printer. I would like to help you to solve this problem today. Now, I know that you have tried 2 yellow cartridges and cleaned the printheads without result. At this point, I will guide you through some additional troubleshooting steps. However, there is a chance that the built-in to your HP Officejet printhead mechanism may be defective. The print head is the part that the cartridges will fit. It controls the "reading" of the cartridges and put the ink on the page. If the print head is defective, your printer printing system is defective and a whole unit replacement may be necessary. By saying this, please follow the steps below so that we can work together to identify what is causing this problem, and ideally to solve this problem.

First of all, I have to print you a standalone print quality Diagnostic report. This report will let us know if you're affected by a software or an issue on the computer, or a hardware problem with the printer.

How to print a report of diagnosis of print quality:

1 load plain white paper in the input tray.

2. on the printer control panel, press the right arrow key () to display more options.

3. press Setup (). The configuration Menu is displayed.

4. press the arrow down (), and then click reports.

5. press on the report on print quality. The test page will print.

I called the help line, got a friend in India, which had me going slowly through the beginning stages by using the printer as a copier. • Ink cartridges for OfficeJet 6700

Yesterday, I bought a printer/all-in-one HP OfficeJet 6700 Premium.  Ink cartridges keep popping out when you put them in, and even when they stay in the machine says no ink cartridge have been installed, then it will not print anything.  The printer print a few documents for me yesterday so I don't know that I've implemented the machine correctly.

What happens here?  Is there a quick fix for this problem, or do I have a "lemon" on my hands?  If the latter, who do I call to return the printer and get a full refund of the purchase price?  Thanks for your quick response.

Hey, Ciara - thanks for your quick response.  I spoke at length yesterday a representative of the HP (Tina) customer service - which was fabulous and we both concluded after several attempts installation of the cartridges in my printer mechanism was faulty.  HP spent night news to me I'll install later today.

The problem is purely mechanical: my printer cartridges were not "snap in" at all, such as the printer didn't know they were there.  They were also burst its place inside the machine each time the cartridge belt moved back.

If the problem persists with the replacement printer I let you know directly that they have a 'lemon' on your hands with this model HP.  Thanks again for your help.

    Hi @katsus98040

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support.    I understand that you can't print from your printer Officejet 6700.

I assume you see the exclamation icon is in your connected HP account.  Connected HP sometimes gives a false report that there is a problem not specified with the printer. HP has been able to reproduce the error.  If there was a genuine mistake, the message would point to the problem (low on ink, paper, etc). Unspecified error message does not prevent you to use ePrint.

If I have understood you please let me know so that we can you top and printing.

    It is a joke.

I pay almost $1 per page, with this cartridge.

So, how can I disable the color cartridges?

    John

    Hi jozz71,

If you are wanting to use the black cartridge for printing, you can follow step 2 in this document to change the print settings to print in black and white:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-OfficeJet-6700-premium-e-all-in-one-printer-series-H711/4322971/document/c04331666

Please be aware that you don't need two ink cartridges to print.  The printer uses little color for printer maintenance.  This interview is described in the document I have attached.

Once the color cartridges is completely exhausted you must replace it in order to print.  After this setting the printer to print in black and white will minimize the used color and make it last longer.

I hope it's useful for you.

  • HP Officejet 6700: HP Officejet 6700 Premium all in one network problems

Printer = printer HP e-all-in-one Officejet 6700 Premium
    Model = H711n
    Number of product = CN538A
    Firmware version = MPM5CN1450AR
    Location = Ireland
    Printed pages total: 152
    Scanned pages: 58

    Other details available on request...

I've had this printer for several months now, I have had no problem connecting to my wireless network and connect computers, telephones and other equipment to this.

A few days earlier, when starting the printer display flashes with the useless error message, error in the printer, turn the printer off and back on.

I have power cycled as requested and received the same message, over the power of the cycle he mentions turning off the power button and no DISCONNECT of the sector. Until then I had never disconnected from the sector. After that I have several attempts to power cycle the printer is off and removed the sector, has waited half an hour and powered on again once.

Still stuck in a loop. He also briefly flashed a blue screen with the error B81431CB. So brief that it is almost useless. I had the boot sequence video and pause playback to read error!

After some research, I decided that she was experiencing problems connecting to the WIFI network. So, I turned the wifi on the router and the printer network started as usual. Internal menus are now available and I can print status and so forth, so at this point I can exclude defects of ink or mechanism.

I went in on the printer network settings and reset the network. I'll also through the printer to factory default settings. I have reactivated the WIFI network to the router then went to install the printer again. Digitized for wifi networks and found mine. Entered the password for wifi and the printer could not connect. Everything is good, correct ssid, signal. Report shows wifi password is incorrect.

I have try several times to connect wifi password is certainly correct, but the printer refuses to recognize the correct password. I tried a different router, the same result. Says incorrect password. Also I tried WPS and a PIN, said still fails to connect.

At this point, I have disabled all security on the wifi network. Bingo, printer connects to the network, but starts with the loop of error mentioned at the start of the tour and turn it back on. This above has been tried several times, the factory reset, everything ok, turn off the wifi security, the printer connects and goes in a loop.

So, at this point wifi is confirmed to be defective. I decide to directly connect a LAN cable. Once the LAN cable is connected, a few seconds later the printer detects the network and goes back into its loop error. It will not just connect to a network via wifi or LAN. He previously worked on the network, and nothing has changed on the network, not new parameters or no new devices.

I connected a laptop to the printer via USB and that seems to work ok, but a USB connection is not ideal and defeated the convenience of a wireless printer. I also tried to reflash the printer in case there is a corruption of the firmware, but the utility detects that the latest firmware is installed and that it is not engaged.

    Now...?

OK I managed to make it work and I will try to explain the steps of my best.

As mentioned previously, I tried another router, I tried the wiring, and I tried to reset the router and the printer. Nothing seemed to work.

Out of curiosity I just put my phone in a WIFI AP. Tried connecting the printer and it worked. The printer connected to the WIFI phones.

So I know that the printer works on at least one access point.

Thus, in the settings of the router and firewall. The only thing enabled in the firewall have been

  • OfficeJet 6700 Premium: after Windows 10 Upgrade on Officejet 6700 scanning does not work anymore - can not find scanner

    Hello

Having finally decided to take the plunge to upgrade to Windows 10, I discovered that my Officejet 6700 Premium previously peripheral work will scan is no longer.

My connection to the device is via a wired connection with a static IP address on the printer. It all worked perfectly under Windows 7, but now, I can only print to the printer to win 10.

I tried to uninstall the previously working software (under Win 7) and downloaded the latest version of the HP (OJ6700_1315 - 1.exe) software, which BTW is not a patch on the previous software that I'm used to using - but it did not help. Still no joy with the scanning feature.

I tried to uninstall all software, so I tried to launch the Wizard installation HP which seemed to re - install the last set of software (as above) with the same results - I can print it, but if I try to scan using the Officejet 6700 App it appears a dialog box saying "inaccessible Scanner. Scanner communication cannot be established. Make sure that your product is powered, check the connection and esnure that your network runs correctly. ...".  Amazing result given that the application displays all levels of printer ink, and I can print - every time!

I tried disabling the firewall - no difference, still do not see the scanner.

Tried using other windows applications; Paint, etc. - no joy.

I also tried the "HP Print Scan doctor and" nothing does - even, he gives up and says to contact HP support, with no details about what to tell them!

I hope someone else out there could have had the same problem and found a way to make it work?

    Thank you!

    Ok

In case anyone is interested, I bit the bullet and did a new install of Windows 10 on a formatted drive. I then installed the same software that I had tried on the "upgrade to Windows 7" windows, 10, and everything works as expected.

Therefore, there is definitely something wrong with the upgrade process, and the removal of the HP scanning software & resettlement never did his job correctly.

I look closely at the list of DLLs etc., charged by the printing software, but could not detect anything immediate.

Then, certainly in my case, a new facility was to solve this problem.

    See you soon,.

    Hi @Emc161,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I see that your impression is very strong with your HP Officejet 6700 printer on Windows 10. And I'm happy to help you!

It doesn't sound like you did more troubleshooting already. I recommend you to check the steps in these guides:

    1. A Message "Paper jam" error display on the HP Officejet 6600, 6700 printers.
    2. An "out of paper" Message appears and the printer is not Pick Up or paper feed.

Just in case where measures have been missed. Otherwise, if you have done these steps, proceed with the following:

    1. A hard reset by accessing this post, How to perform a hard reset, by @Rich1. It is important that the printer power cable is plugged directly into the wall outlet, not a surge protector. Questions when it is connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power. This is true for printers and ink jet.
    2. Make sure that the firmware of the printer is completely up-to-date. The printer updates for HP Officejet Pro 8600 (N911), 6600 (H711) Officejet and Officejet 6700 Premium (H711) e-all-in-One Printer Series.
    3. Check your messages for the steps to restart full semi. If you are unfamiliar with the operation of the function of private messages of the Forum, this post has instructions.

If these steps and guides do not resolve your problem, the printer will need to be repaired / replaced. Please contact HPtelephone support for further assistance. I want to change 'Gray levels' to 'Off' to 'Black ink only' and 'Output quality' to 'Normal' to 'project '. I went to the Panel of control permanently change my default settings of the printer, but whenever I try to print, the parameters began to 'Off' and 'Normal '.

    Hey @arican55,

I see you have some problems with the definition of default values on your PC of Windows 10 when printing to your Officejet 6700 Premium e-all-in-one printer. I can help you with that.

    To clear all default settings:

    1. If the printer is connected via USB cable to your PC, delete.
    2. In your search type in printers bar and open devices and printers.
    3. Right-click on any icon of your printer listed.
    4. Click on remove the instrument.
    5. Repeat for all other icons of your printer listed.
    6. If you removed the USB cable, connect. If this is not the case, click on add printer and follow the prompts to add a print to your printer queue.

Please let me know the results after following the above. If you can set the default values, click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.

  • Officejet 6700 scanning settings

    OfficeJet 6700 Premium (Prod # CV078A) network (direct connection to the router). 1 = Win XP SP3 computer. computer 2 = WIN7 Pro SP1 32-bit;

A couple of questions about scanning. This printer has replaced an Officejet 6500 failure that has served me well for several years before suffering significant constipation of ink.

1 scanned files are much larger than those produced by my 6500. I adjusted the scanning parameters, including PDF (NOT available), B & W and size of file/quality under Advanced settings, the "smaller" value The file sizes are about 3 x what has been produced by using 6500 dpi (200). Any suggestions?

2 prerequisite software registered automatically scans as "Scan001", "Scan002", etc.. Current software requires to manually change the file name for each further analysis when scanning from the computer using the HP software. Is this correct feature? (If so, it is a step backwards.) See also 3 below. [Edit: point of Travis' 2 in response below deals with this issue - thanks!]

    3. scan of the computer (from the printer front panel) saves the file 'Scan0001', 'Scan0002', etc.  This works as expected. Why is this not implemented when using 2 above? (Or am I missing?).

Thanks in advance for the answer and enlightenment.

OK - downloaded Free Edition Paperscan v.1.8.3 and used the TWAIN driver to get the image of my Officejet 6700 using the document feeder. Registered 1 page file to PDF with dpi set at 200. File size is 22K. (Now, that's more like it.) Oh, and the quality of the image will appear better, too. [Edit: but see message below re.] NAPS2]

Same document 1 page using the old HP scanning, recorded as a simple pdf software with 200 dpi setting results in a file size of 177 K! 22 K vs 177 K - same, I can do that math.

Conclusion: there is something seriously wrong [ineffective/sloppy code] with the HP scanning software. (and I don't think they care)

    Recommendation: Fix it.

I see that you have questions about your number of pages.  I would like to help.

The built-in web server does not account for pages printed not across the network.  The number of printer pages all the elements. 1434 pages were not printed through the network, therefore, not counted in the SAP.
