OfficeJet 7110: Network offline printer

Printer is connected to a router. After not feeling for a few days and I am trying to print a text file, word doc, or a web page will receive a message that the printer is offline. The HP printer assistant homepage lists the status of the printer such as OK. State of the cable network says connected. Selecting printing test page OK print. The print queue lists the original file, as still in the queue. The only way I can get the original file to print is to turn the printer power off and then back on.

Hi @rkalinowski,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see that the printer keeps going offline. I will definitely do my best to help you. If this helps you to find a solution, please click on the button "Accept as Solution" down below in this message. If you want to say thanks for my effort to help, click on the 'Thumbs Up' to give me a Kudos.

Please try the steps listed in this document, HP printers - "offline" Message of State printer (Windows 8). They should help this situation. I would like to start by step 8: other things to try, disable SNMP in properties of printer (network connection). If you still have questions, please start at the top and work your way to the bottom of the document.

Please let me know the results and if there is anything else I can help you. Thank you.

Vista continues to disconnect the network printer. I have uninstall and then re-install the printer in Control Panel. Never had this problem with XP. Hello

    (1) make sure that the file and printer sharing is enabled.

    (2) If you are using a computer connected to a "working group", click on the arrow next to password protected sharing to expand this section.  Check if password protected sharing is enabled or disabled.

If the password sharing is enabled, only people with a user account and password for this computer will be able to access your printer. Disable this option if you want anyone on the network can access the printer you share unless you give then a user account and password.

    Install the printer driver

Use a driver downloaded from the manufacturer's site to install the printer

    1. If you use the downloaded driver, double-click the downloaded file, then click on 'run '. The file will then be extracted and start the driver installation.

2 follow the prompts and continue with the installation until you reach the Setup completed screen appears.

    3. on this screen, check the "Select" printer port box, and then click on the manual button 'Selection '.

    4. Select "" LPT1: port local printer ' and click on 'OK', then click 'Finish'. "

    5. in the Printers window, right-click the printer icon and select 'Properties' (access to the Printers window)

    6. click on the tab "Ports", and then click 'Add Port '.

    7. Select "Local Port" and click "new port" button.

    8. Enter the name of the port using the XP computer name and the name of the printer in the \\ComputerName\PrinterName form and then click 'OK '. Close the Port name window.

    9. click on 'Close' in the Printer Ports window.

    10. the new port poster now as being selected. Click "close".

    11. click on "Install driver" If the following window appears. You are now ready to print.

Another thing is to make sure that if the firewall windows is that there is an exception specified for sharing files and printing.

Make sure that all the computers are on the same workgroup. By default, XP machines are set to "MSHOME" while Vista machines are set to "WORKGROUP". They should both say WORKGROUP.

  • HP Officejet 7110: HP Officejet 7110 will not print A3 size

We bought the printer and are having problems trying to get the printer to print A3 size. Setting the parameters of the A3 printer (and the printer settings also calls on A3) the printer still prints in A4.

We use the latest driver from HP. We use the wireless operation mode. Three different computers running Windows 7 OS all faced the same problem.

After using the HP 1220C 'work horse' for many years (make a few noises now!) without any problems, decided to upgrade to the 7110.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Gemini02,

    Thanks for your help.

Tried to change the parameters of location on the computer to the United States. This has no effect.

Also, check the print in the print dialog options, changed a few settings but put back them as they were, but he noticed that print preview now shows a decent view for A3 (before the part showed A4 drawing on the page. The printer now printed A3 drawing correctly! Really not sure what I did but it works now!

Decided to download the latest version of the driver and versions of Firmware for the printer 7110 since the HP (64 bit exe) website just in case where for some reason I did not use the latest software of the printer.  Two other peoplke in Office did the same and we are all now print A3 drawings properly.

  • OfficeJet 7110: unlisted paper size

To print from photoshop to a super A3 format, 13 of 19 "

But this paper size is not listed. I don't see anything larger than A4.

    How can I handle this?

    Evening @ppoint.

I hope that I can offer you assistance with print on 13 of 19 "paper with your Officejet 7110 large Format printer.

I noticed that you have upgraded to Windows 10, some features may be missing from the initial installation.  You can try to uninstall the printer software. Then download the most recent driver available;  HP Officejet 7110 series full feature software and drivers - Make sure to get full functionality, not only the base driver.

Did you that your computer has all its windows updates?  How can I tell if my computer is up to date?

Restart the computer, and then try your print again. If the page size is always missing you can try to create custom paper sizes (use as a rough guide for directions.)

Please NOTE: With all models, print custom page sizes are n ot guaranteed from Windows, it usually ends up being a limitation of the operating system presets. All these settings are error.

Please let me know if any of these steps has resolved your problem, or if there is anything else I can do to help.

I look forward to hear from you!

    Thank you

HP Officejet 7110 working never quite right. It is on a mac network and I couldn't get wireless printing to work, so it is snagged by ethernet in the hub/modem.

It was disconnected and no matter what I do to restart / reboot my mac, it won't be online and on paper.

Anything that anyone could suggest would be really useful!

    Thank you!

    Hi bonus221,

I want to help you get the printer working again. If I understand your description that the printer is connected to the modem with a cable Ethernet, and you have tried so far to restart the printer and the computer. I would like to recommend you leave the printer on and unplug the power cable, turn off the computer and let the modem on and unplug the power cable. After a good minute, reconnect the modem and let it power up, then plug the printer back in and re - turn on the computer. Once on all devices, follow the instructions below to reset the printing system.

    1. Click on the Apple icon ( ), then click on System Preferences.
  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 a: printer no longer works after reset wireless network

OfficeJet Pro 8500 has, MacBook Pro, running the Mavericks.

For 3 days, when we added a password and blocked our router wireless (modem ATT UVerse), our printer is "offline" print jobs queued, but do not print.  When I go and check it says "printer offline".  Or in the print queue, it is something like "looking for printer."

He worked briefly when we found a power cord and plugged into the laptop, but will not work wireless, which he did before.    No changes except to repeat password for the network.

I have the manual and you have turned off everything, then return in the order recommended (router, printer, then laptop).  Always offline.   Can someone please?   Thank you!

    Hello @LindaGrace,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that since to add a password to your wireless router your HP Officejet Pro 8500 has e-All-in-One Printer not communicate wirelessly with your computer Mac OS X 10.9. I would like to help you today with this problem of wireless communication.

Now, make a change to your network, as an addition to a password or change a password, translates into having to reconfigure your printer on the wireless network. At this point your printer is to be 'blocked' access to your network wireless because of the change you made. To correct this problem, you simply raise the Setup wireless for your printer to "say" the printer network name and password. Once the wireless installation runs successfully all will continue to work for you according to the normal.

To run the Wireless Setup Wizard on your printer, please follow the steps below.

    1. On the touch screen of the printer, press the right arrow key () to display the second navigation screen.
    2. Press network () to open the network Menu.
    3. Touch Wireless.
    4. Press the Wireless Setup Wizard, and then press continue.
    5. Please wait while the printer is looking for the routers that are nearby. Appears in the menu Select Network (SSID) .
    6. Scroll the list of network names until you find the name of your network.
    7. Tap the name of your network.
    8. If you are prompted, enter the WEP or WPA key. This is the password for your wireless network. The password is case-sensitive.
    9. Wait for the printer to connect to the network

    -Source

Once your printer is connected to your network again, please try to print. If printing still fails, you need to add the printer to your Mac because of the connection of network new printers. Please follow the steps below to add the printer to the Mac.

    1. click on the menu of Apple , then Preferences System.

    2. click on Print & Scanand then check if the name of your printer appears in the printer list.

    3. If your printer is already listed, remove and re-add the printer to check the communication with the Mac. Click on the name of your printer, click the minus sign (), and then delete the printer

    4. click on the plus sign (), click Add a printer or a Scanner, click the name of your printer

    5. click Add to add the printer to the list.

Now that the printer is properly configured on your network and added to the Mac, please try again to print wireless.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. Good luck!

  • OfficeJet 6000 won't print from computer on our network

Our officejet 6000 won't print from a computer on the network. All 3 computers running Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium edition. The computer we have problems printing used to be able to print to the Officejet 6000, but now he can't.  In devices and printers, it says that the printer is connected, but I can't print a Test Page.  However, if I run the HP Solution Center, it says that the printer is connected and I can go to the Toolbox of the printer and print a printer status report.  The 2 other computers on our network have no problem printing of pages to document and test.  Why would a printer are struggling to print documents and test pages, but be able to print the printer status report?

It's just a problem of connection and communication. The computer and the printer can be on different ports or IP addresses. Here's a link below that can help solve this problem.

  • OfficeJet 7110: activation web service HP 7110

Unable to enable web services on HP Officejet 7110.

Printer works flawlessley in 802.3 or 802.11 mode. IP v4 active, disabled v6.  Can ping and print from any computer using any operating system on the local network, but unable to connect to HP servers and enable web services.

The messages say "checking the connection to the server and the printer update.» This process may take several minutes. »

Then replaced by "Enabling Web Services. This process may take several minutes. »

Then fails and it falls the try them "Web services is not enabled" again from the screen.

After doing this several times, it displays the "you have exceed the maximum number of attempts." Turn off the printer and try again in an hour.

Of course, starting the whole lack of process again.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks for trying to help.

I tried all the suggestions that were provided previously without success. I does not solve the problem in a way that might be useful to other users.

One of the consequences of not being able to activate web services is that you also can not use this method to update the printers firmware. When I checked the support, there is no firmware shown with software update driver for my OS. Then I looked under all versions of the OSES and found an update of firmware for use with Windows 10.  I have downloaded it, updated the firmware of the printers manually and was immediately able to get web services running.

    Everything is good now.

    Hi Kili2,

Try to install your printer via "Open network" - via the window icon or desktop to explore - and choose 'Add devices and printers' (you may need to click the arrow next to the question mark for the top menu show).
Let the wizard to search for awhile, selcect your printing device, and click 'next'.

After you follow these steps, search for the new installed printer (the name is shown in network for printer and scanner) in "Printers and devices" in the control panel.
Use this printer as the default printer and you should be able to print over the network cable or wireless.
