OfficeJet 8600: Cannot change network settings

I have the same problem, as described in this previous thread where you can't change any settings when connecting to the printer via EWS.  Due to the installation, I use a box with Windows Server R2 2012.

I can't change the IP address I get the message 'invalid input '.   I tried using the compatibility settings, but applying that makes blank pages.   I noticed that I get the same message when I try to change the hostname also like the OP did in the above link.

Are there updates for this problem?

I could change it using Google Chrome on Windows 10... I guess he doesn't like IE on Windows Server?

  • Cannot change network iDRAC settings 7

    Hello

I am trying to set up alerts e-mail for a few servers and have encountered a problem with the network settings on the iDRAC. The problem is that the DNS settings is not configured correctly on most of the servers, which would require me to use the direct IP to my SMTP server, that I prefer not to even if it would work. I have also some machine with an incorrect host name value that before email alerts has been only a slight cosmetic problem in the interface.

When I try to change the settings on the network tab in the iDRAC charging page interface with old settings just once I hit apply. There is a note on the top of the page that tells me that the NETWORK card must be reset to apply the settings, but settings will still apply after reset of the iDRAC together.

    Hi AlbinG,

Can you give us more details

1: what server do you use?

    2: iDRAC FW Version

3: what setting all you changed on the iDRAC network page.

4: do you have any VLAN configured on iDRAC?

5: what operating system and browser you use to launch the iDRAC Web Interface?

Any network on iDRAC7 setting will take 30 to 60 seconds to apply. Can you wait 60 seconds and refresh the page and see if the changes are applied. There is no need to reset the iDRAC to apply the setting.

  • Slim Pro 5 - user can change network settings

    Hi all

I have the following situation with ThinPro 5:

When starting the computer ThinClient a pop-up window will appear for about 3 to 5 seconds (which indicates that it is run via HP ThinPro update) indicating: "Waiting for network.

At the bottom of the pop-up window is a button 'Settings' where a normal user is able to click on and is then able to change the network settings (IP, GW, Netmask, 802.1 x parameters,... everything!).

If the doesn´t user click this button, the Popup is closed and the login (in my case for Citrix) window appears. From this point the user doesn't have access to the system.

My problem are the 3 to 5 seconds the PopUp is displayed. During this time the user has administrator permissions. Changes that are made are persistent after a reboot.

Is it possible to disable this PopUp "Waiting for network? (I disabled the auto update already...)

    Thanks in advance,

    Daniel

I installed the printer drivers, but after selecting a3 paper size selection is not maintained (the choice exists, but not fixed), in other words, when I on the printer again options paper size is set to letter. I can't change the paper size to any greater than the letter paper size, the sizes below are accepted (A4 is accepted).

I tried to uninstall and reinstall the printer driver.

I tried to install on my laptop and it works well on it.

The printer should work on my pc and my wife, since these are our work units every day...

The fact is that my computer cannot print beyond the letter format.

    A solution?
I have seen that many people have had this problem but it does not support HP solution.

    Hi andrewcass2,

On three computers, you have just this problem with Windows 7 ultimate 32 bit.

I had a similar problem with another post, here are a few steps you can try.

Change the settings for location on the computer to the United States. (may not be allowing changes to paper size)

Go to start, Control Panel, language and region. Select the location tab, click on the menu down and select United States

States. Then click on the Formats tab, click on the menu down and select English (United States)

    Restart the computer.

Try to change the settings again.

Try Notepad to see if you have the same results.

Try also to uncheck the option 'Ladder content for A3' from the program you are printing from.

Let me know how make you out.

    Thank you.

  • Cannot change network type in Windows 8

How can I change a network or private so that file sharing is allowed? I thought that you could click on it from pop to subwindow network on the right side of the screen, but only my physical network connection is listed.

    More details:

I have a physical Ethernet connection which is defined as a private network. Sharing files and any other communication on my LAN works fine. I also have a virtual connection through LogMeIn Hamachi which is defined as a public network. I can't find a way to change this. How to change network type in Windows 7 does not work in Windows 8.

Once, I was able to change the type of Ethernet from the public to the private network by selecting that I wanted to turn on sharing. Although now I cannot access the menu to change that pop on the pane by clicking on the icon of simple network. I was also able to do it once with the Hamachi network, but only the physical card network seemed to save the change after a while. At a time the network Hamachi was not identified, but he has switched back to show as a public network. That's if everything goes though temporary and can be another problem together.

I don't want to make an exception in my firewall, or make registry changes that specify all unidentified networks are established privately (two suggestions I found on the web so far).

So it took me a while to find this also, I fixed it by searching for troubleshooting as suggested above. In troubleshooting search box (top right) type homegroup, and then select the resolution of the problems of the residential group, even if you're not using home group, part of the diagnosis allows you to change the type of network from public to private/home, I jumped the diagnostic network also step and allowed me to very easily change the type of network.

  • Tecra A10 - cannot change the settings of the BIOS with supervisor password enabled

    Hello
I activated a supervisor for 1.50 acpi BIOS password.

Since then, I am not able to change the settings (for example etc. - the right of the screen of the BIOS boot order does no more).
I access the bios with pressing ESC on the boot process, then F1 when prompted "" check system, then press [F1] key. Problem is that I don't ask the supervisor password.
There should be a prompt for the supervisor password, but it's not. So I am not able to connect as a supervisor.
I know I can manually change the boot sequence by pressing F12 during startup, but this strict solve my problem.

    THX in advance

Have you tried to update the BIOS? On the Toshiba site, I can find a newer version that you have right now. Check it!
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

Before setting a supervisor password load default settings in the BIOS and then you can set the password and try again. Maybe it works.

  • The remote desktop icon - cannot change the settings & only appeared yesterday - have I been compromised

    Hello

I had a quick glance around my system because I think it has been compromised. Today, I noticed something I never saw before a "Remote Desktop connection" icon in my documents - time created yesterday - at about 20:00 - 08/04 when I was not on the machine and certainly don't remember updated anything.
I went into control panel / system/distance and unchecked boxes related to assistance remotely etc. Is there anyway that anyone can access my machine remotely? or how would I know if they have?  The sudden appearance of this icon and the calendar has caused me some alarm. I deleted it + at the present time, it is in the trash. I did it because it gives an error when I try to save changes to settings that do not allow access.
Someone could give me some advice please on what this could be and how I can assure any remote access to my pc. (Windows XP / wired ethernet via Bt Home Hub connection)  Thank you.

  • Solved: Cannot change notification settings music app playing / open in Lollipop

I have not found anyway to change notification settings (priority/silent/sound) in Xperia Z2 while listening to music or if the music app is running listening to music. I tried different applications (Walkman, Spotify, Google Music) with the music and the problem is present with all music applications. This problem came with the Android 5.0 update (Lollipop). If I want to change my mind, I have to stop the music and close the music application. KitKat, I could just press the power button longer and get notification settings, but no more with Android 5.0.

There is a fix for this in 5.1 Android, but I have not found information there will be updates 5.1.

If anyone has found a way to change settings while the music running application, or that I need to hope and wait for Android 5.1 upgrade?

    See you soon,.

    Answering my own question:

Pause music, turn the widescreen (or one if it was turned off and then first on the road once again) power button for a while, and then on again. Now you should be able to control sound notification settings when you press the volume key. If the playback volume volume touch control instead of notifications, turns the screen turned off again and wait a little longer before turning back on.

With this method you don't need to close the music app notifications of control.

  • Cannot change the settings on the computer. No access to the administrator account

Original title: I can't access permissions to change settings or programs.

I can not access permissions to change any settings or programs and do not have access to an administrator account, I tried what allows one but you must have admin permission to do so. Please point me in the right direction, it seems that Ive tried everything. ID realyy don't want to spend money on software

    Hi Christophe,

-With which user account you have connected? It is a standard user account?

-What happens when you try to change the settings? You receive an error? In the affirmative, please let us know the exact error message.

Since you are not able to create an administrator account, I suggest you to enable the built-in Administrator account.

    1. you must start the computer by using the Windows 7 installation media.

Follow the steps in http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/what-are-system-recovery-options#what-are-system-recovery-options=windows-7 to enter the recovery options in Windows 7.

Note: See the manual of the computer to change the Boot order in the BIOS and set the CD/DVD as first boot device.

    2. Once you start the computer by using the Windows 7 installation disc, follow the instructions on the screen then go food Advanced Options and select command prompt.

In the command prompt, type net user administrator / Active: Yes

After the command finishes, restart the computer and then log on to the administrator account by default, change the account type of the old user account and make as administrator and check if you are able to change the settings.

Follow the steps in the http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows7/change-a-users-account-type to change the account type of the user account.

Once you have set the administrator type account with your user account, disable the default user account by following these steps.

    1. login to your user account.

    2. open the command prompt, type cmd. exe in the run search and right click on cmd.exe and select Run as Administrator.

    3. type net user administrator / active: No.

This will disable the built-in Administrator account.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • Cannot change the settings after the take snapshot in VM

Hello forum, I need to increase a disc size and the number of virtual processors on couple of virtual machines, the last week I have instant tool of these virtual machines. Today, when I try to change the settings, I see that the options are grayed out. Why is it so? This is a limitation of vmware. Do I have to delete the snapshots before making changes? Which will remove the ability to roll back changes if necessary. I'm under Windows 2008 R2 virtual machines.

Virtual disks can only increase if they have no active snapshots. The snapshot files contains modified data blocks that correspond to their parent records, and this mapping I lost if you have increased a virtual disk with snapshots.
