OfficeJet Pro 8500 A910g offline

My Office Pro 8500 A910g using a laptop running Windows 7 Home Edition works fine on my WiFi network for years.

I lost the connection. On a second laptop, I get an offline state.

The blue network status light is not on.

I printed a Network Setup page and a wireless network test report and everything seems good. I ran the program of HP HP troubleshoot-performed installation failure. I had a local technician look at the printer he said it, it was fine.

I removed the HP software and reinstalled. The printer is on the network, but I can't find the printer when I try to perform a new installation.

The HP print and Scan doctor does not find the printer.

Looking for the address IP in the browser can't find the printer.

I have reset the default printer.

I deleted all the pending print jobs.

I disconnected and reformulated the printr several times

Any suggestiions? Is there a magical hidden reset button? I have to buy a new printer?

Print you the wireless config page?  You can scroll through the front panel to check the status?  You will need to download and read your manual to find this information.

I tried both solutions you provided.

    None worked.

I had the problem with a HP Photosmart 2610 AIO printer that I have had for almost 10 years. Has been using remanufactured ink cartridges and they work perfectly until there are about 3 1/2 months. The printer works now than if I use HP ink cartridges. I'm guessing that some required HP update HP ink cartridge only!

I have tried everything I know to try and even some suggestions for HP and nothing works. So, I thought to replace the remanufactured cartridges that were installed in my printer 8500 currenty (I had a mixture of HP and refurbished who had worked successfully for a while) with original HP cartridges.  This seems to have solved my problem with printing.

Of course, there was a HP update that required the printer using HP ink cartridges to perform. Is there anyway that we can get this update? If so, I would like instructions to do it for my two printers.

Thanking you in advance for a quick response.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 A910g: OfficeJet Pro 8500 software on Windows 7

I use this printer for about three years, and about a year, when I clicked on the icon of the software OfficeJet, or tried to run from the program list window, nothing happened.  A HP support agent sent me a link to the "HP Print Scan doctor and", and that fixed it.  A month ago, it's the same thing.  I uninstalled all the HP software associated with the printer and went to HP.com and downloaded a new full version of the driver installed, then restarted the computer.  The same thing happens again.  I can print anything from the PC and use the front panel of the printer to scan the items, but by clicking on the icon HP Officejet does nothing.  When I run the "doctor HP Print and Scan" and make a analysis test, the scan window goes up on the PC and allows me to scan and save any document on the glass or in the charger without any problem, but even after I do that, clicking on "OfficeJet Pro 8500 A910.exe" does nothing.    I use Eset smart security 8 software and SpyHunter, but even with them turned off during the download and installation, and while I try to run the software of the printer, nothing changes with this problem.

I saw someone post this question on the line.

    Hello

Try to install the following hotfix:

Once you start the patch, let a few moments and try to launch the HP software again, it should not be a quick after launching the patch.

If you did not, please remove the existing printer software > restart > install a new copy of the software full functionality.

Assuming the printer is functional, connected, and that print of Diagnostics shows no errors, then consider / try one of the following Scan Options.

I saw your post about wanting to use a wireless and USB at the same time with your Officejet 8500 connection has more. Yes, you can have these two connections at the same time, you will just need to have both installed on your computer and select the correct driver when you print. However, you are not able to have an ethernet connection at the same time and wireless.

If you don't have the wireless configuration or the installed USB Installer, run the installation or the HP print and Scan Doctor if you happen to be running Windows.

  • OfficeJet pro 8500 a: error Surface pro 3 when printing on HP printers

I bought a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 to replace my laptop. I loved except that I can't have the network printer as my old laptop. Because I'm stuck using your printer app, it has been a disaster. I get the error messages. The application can not find my documents, and then I get the error messages. Documents are partially printed, or I get a message that the printer is offline. Y at - it a patch or fix for this problem?

    Hello @manon1,

Welcome to the forums of HP.

I understand that you are experiencing problems printing from your Surface Pro 3.

    I would like to help.

What I learned from the series Surface Pro, is that they are running a full version of the windows operating system.

This means that unlike the RT versions, you can install the software.

You should be able to install the same software that you can install on a laptop or desktop computer.

This would make it so that you don't need to use the application.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 a: printer no longer works after reset wireless network

OfficeJet Pro 8500 has, MacBook Pro, running the Mavericks.

For 3 days, when we added a password and blocked our router wireless (modem ATT UVerse), our printer is "offline" print jobs queued, but do not print.  When I go and check it says "printer offline".  Or in the print queue, it is something like "looking for printer."

He worked briefly when we found a power cord and plugged into the laptop, but will not work wireless, which he did before.    No changes except to repeat password for the network.

I have the manual and you have turned off everything, then return in the order recommended (router, printer, then laptop).  Always offline.   Can someone please?   Thank you!

    Hello @LindaGrace,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that since to add a password to your wireless router your HP Officejet Pro 8500 has e-All-in-One Printer not communicate wirelessly with your computer Mac OS X 10.9. I would like to help you today with this problem of wireless communication.

Now, make a change to your network, as an addition to a password or change a password, translates into having to reconfigure your printer on the wireless network. At this point your printer is to be 'blocked' access to your network wireless because of the change you made. To correct this problem, you simply raise the Setup wireless for your printer to "say" the printer network name and password. Once the wireless installation runs successfully all will continue to work for you according to the normal.

To run the Wireless Setup Wizard on your printer, please follow the steps below.

    1. On the touch screen of the printer, press the right arrow key () to display the second navigation screen.
    2. Press network () to open the network Menu.
    3. Touch Wireless.
    4. Press the Wireless Setup Wizard, and then press continue.
    5. Please wait while the printer is looking for the routers that are nearby. Appears in the menu Select Network (SSID) .
    6. Scroll the list of network names until you find the name of your network.
    7. Tap the name of your network.
    8. If you are prompted, enter the WEP or WPA key. This is the password for your wireless network. The password is case-sensitive.
    9. Wait for the printer to connect to the network

Once your printer is connected to your network again, please try to print. If printing still fails, you need to add the printer to your Mac because of the connection of network new printers. Please follow the steps below to add the printer to the Mac.

    1. click on the menu of Apple , then Preferences System.

    2. click on Print & Scanand then check if the name of your printer appears in the printer list.

    3. If your printer is already listed, remove and re-add the printer to check the communication with the Mac. Click on the name of your printer, click the minus sign (), and then delete the printer

    4. click on the plus sign (), click Add a printer or a Scanner, click the name of your printer

    5. click Add to add the printer to the list.

Now that the printer is properly configured on your network and added to the Mac, please try again to print wireless.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. Good luck!

  • Unanswered: how to turn off the light touch screen with an HP Officejet Pro 8500 has?

    Hello

I have a new HP Officejet Pro 8500 connected via WiFi and all A910g seems to work very well (after solving some Comodo firewall settings on the PC network).

However, the light of the touchscreen is quite annoying when the screen is not necessary. Only a few times, I noticed the light went away, but I can't find an option to control that. Normally, the light just stay on (all night too) all by displaying commercial product tour. I really want this boring commercial to go and have a time-out to a black screen that opens again when they are hit. I can't imagine that the functionality is not yet there, but where?

    Kind regards

    -Charles

    Hello

Post the rather unexpected answer myself.

There is also an option of installation menu (in English). Tools | Screen saver.

It is also an On / Off radio button.

If you think setting the screen saver 'On' would be empty the screen after a timeout, you got it all wrong, as if I were.

The screensaver is actually the commercial product tour rehearsal.

The "Off" screen saver setting had the desired effect. "

    Kind regards

  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 A909a not print correctly

    OfficeJet Pro 8500 A909a

    Windows 7

I can't print now with my usual USB connection, directly from the computer USB for printer, even if another computer can print to it via a network connection.  After printing, I open printer in devices and printers, there is a ghost copy to the printer and the printer itself is ghost, indicating that it is in offline mode.  After you open the Quebec, the file is listed with a message "error-printing".  I can remove the copy to the printer and to set the printer online, but the process is repeated each time.

I: restarted the computer and the printer, run the troubleshooter printer with no problems, noted, tried the USB cable to a different port, execute printing and doctor Scan and my computer 'sees' the firmware, printer and resettled drivers and restart the print spooler.  There is no hardware problems - it will print on the other computer and copies, etc very well.  I have not tried another cable because I have a step and assume if my computer can see the printer should work.  One final note: there was a bolt of lightning about 100 yards away for the weekend. first thing Monday back to work is when I noticed the problem.

Please help, I did research for hours without success...

Tried the printer with 2 different usb cables to another computer and it never worked.  I think that the usb port on the printer has been fried.  Bought a new printer works fine.

  • HP Officejet pro 8500 a prints the endless stream of white leaves unordered with a character on them

My HP Officejet Pro 8500 worked until about 2 weeks ago (it's around the age of 3 months).  He started printing constantly (a period that some documents are sent to the printer - I want to be clear, that is not in what concerns the documents ORDERED from any of the computers).  It prints a sheet of paper with a D in the first place of character in the upper left corner, then spit out the paper.  It keeps going until it is out of paper.  The only way to stop it is 1) turn off 2) continue to press the button "Cancel printing" (every 5-10 seconds) or 3) taking the paper.  Of course, it's annoying because while he was in fact trying to print a document (which comes out fine), it must load the fresh paper and lose several pieces so that the printer continues it's freak out before you print our document ORDERED.

Spent nearly 2 1/2 hours on technical support yesterday - it took 2 hours to MAKE IT CLEAR that the printer was PRINTING ON it's OWN.  Technology has always tried to "correct" the documents I feel (which are very GOOD, as I said).  Finally, I was told that a technician at a higher level should remember-, but looking at it through the forums, it seems that it's an empty promise and no point in waiting for assistance.

    Any suggestions?

Well, as usual with something technical, my trip was winding and fraught with frustration.  After my post yesterday, I found some other threads containing possible responses.  Thanks, PrintDoc, for your suggestion and I'm sorry but I didn't see in time to try it.  Although I did reset hard on the printer (disconnect while it was expected from one day to the next, then re - plug inside), who had not helped.  The tech had me also unplug the printer, press 16 times, then re - plug again.  These patches did nothing.   Here is what happened:

See another post about printer problems, the solution was to change the printer port - so I started with that.  I had the printer ports pose problems with previous HP printers, so it seemed a reasonable solution.  Unfortunately, it did not work.  Worse still, it took my printer on the network somehow.  However, the printer still showed that it was connected 'Wireless' (geen light was on, the report states that all was fine)- but the router could not find the printer and the printer would not print.  ARGGGGHHH!

Then, I tried to re - install the printer.  Although the installation is complete, the printer still wasn't on the network.  I tried to play with the ports - nothing helped.

Meanwhile, the printer is spitting out unwanted documents.  As a last resort, I put the network on the default printer settings, just to see that if the pages continued to out - they did!  So: I thought it wasn't a network issue, but a printer problem.

Just like I was losing my mind, the advanced technology of HP called me back (as I was promised by the previous technology the day before).  He said that it was probably a problem of firmware inside the printer and take back to the store and exchange it.  I did (fortunately I had an extended warranty - printer is old and 2 months off the day 30 store the warranty period).  I got the printer at Office Depot and they were VERY nice about exchanging (plug for Office Depot here!).

I brought the printer home, set up (as you know, that takes a WHILE) and then had to run to an appointment in the evening.  I left, I tried the Test Page and it printed.  But I didn't count this trip as finished!  When I got home, the printer was quiet - no unwanted pages - everything was going well.  However, as I started dinner, I heard it starts... I ran into the office and - Yes - you guessed it - more unwanted pages!

OK - NEW printer - NEW set up - it was quiet while we were GONE from the House.  WHAT has changed?  I ran through the possibilities in my mind - I was sure I had checked the print spools all the computers in the House, but my son came from is on his computer.  I caught and checked the "Printers" section  Of course, our OLD printer was installed on his system and was probably spoil a new.  Nothing in the spool printing, but the port was likely the same.  In any case, I deleted the old printer and ALTO - him spewing pages not desired STOPPED!

Why pages continued to get out even after I took the printer offline?  Probably because so many FAKE "impressions" that had built they had not come out yet.  But of course it was not obvious at the time.

Problem solved with just a little detective work.  YAY!

I hope this helps someone else out there!

What is the Deskjet D2560?  If so you can do the following: click on start, devices and printers, do a right click on your Officejet 8500 a, Printer Ports and properties by using the note which port your Officejet 8500, cancel.  Right-click on the D2500, select "See what's printing", when the window opens click on the printer, then 'Use printer offline' is checked.  Then, do a right-click on the D2500, the properties of the printer, the Ports and the same port that you have found for the Officejet, apply the value of the port.  Then, return to the window 'See what's printing' and uncheck the box 'use printer offline' and if 'Print Pause' line is checked uncheck it as well.

I installed the driver from the D2500 series on my system and checked that it is compatible with the Officejet 8500 a.
