I know it's official HP suppliers all over the world, but I was wondering something:

I need to change my hard drive and I can't reach the HP support. Could I go directly to one of these providers, ask him to replace my hard drive and then ask HP to reimburse me? My laptop is still under warranty.

No, the guarantee will not work like that. You need to contact HP, get a case number and the instructions, otherwise your machine can go to a jungle of boxes. HP may send a new HARD disk for you to replace it. Please use a number:

  • Problem with Toshiba authorized service providers

    I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A300-17.

    Recently, I had the following problem: while the laptop was running normally, whenever I opened it I got a black screen (Please note that the output sound was normal). When I connected the laptop to an external monitor (VGA), I myself went to be normal for her and so I was able to work without any other problems.
    After a while, I decided to get the laptop for service providers authorized by Toshiba in Greece.

    They told me that the problem was the motherboard, that sounded really strange because I had no problem with starting. When I went to get the laptop on their part, I discovered that the computer cannot start.

    So I asked why this is happening and why it worked before and it doesn't work now.
    Their response was that my motherboard was "die slowly" and that they did not open the laptop to check what was wrong with her, but only an online diagnostic test.

    Of all the foregoing, I believe they have done something to my laptop and caused the problem with the motherboard. I tried to contact Toshiba Europe and inform them about the behavior of their authorized service providers by sending an e-mail in Germany ([email protected]), in the hope that they would do something in this regard. Unfortunately, I had no answer.

    Please note that I am a PhD student and my laptop is necessary for my research activity. All this delay has a major impact on my work.

    Who do I contact in order to bypass this?
    Is there anyone in the treatment of cases like that of Toshiba?
    Is it possible that a company like Toshiba just don't care about their customer satisfaction?

    How long should I wait before this problem is solved?

    It of really hard to tell how much of the material could be faulty, but if the laptop does not start, then a serious problem of material is possible.
    You said that the internal screen was dark, but you could work with an external monitor attached to the laptop.

    Well, that means the motherboard and graphics card might be ok and that the internal display will be affected.
    However, only a technician of the laptop could provide more details, after the material has been checked, so I would say you should get in touch with the guys once more in order to get the extract.

    I recently changed internet service providers and now my Wired desktop can't connect to the internet.  I noticed that the connection is showing 'Automatic private address' can I connect all my fine wireless devices.  I did extensive troubleshooting with my service provider, but they suggest that my master's degree network adapter must be replaced.  I updated the driver, and the device manager says it's working properly. If I connect the same wire for my laptop, it works fine.  This is just my office.  Any ideas how can I fix?

    Unfortnately, my laptop (a DV7-1260us) has problems of material.  One that is certain is that its hard disk is too damaged to be fixed.  And this afternoon it stops, and now when it is connected to a power source (when the battery when I plugged, or both, it's a low beep).  So, I need to bring it to someone who can fix or attempt to do so. However, I tried to find service providers approved both through google on this site and I can't.  I was wondering if anyone knew anywhere that such a list could be found, or if someone has knowledge where some are in and around Boston.

    Does anyone know of providers of public services with compatibility API v1.5?

    VirtaCore so far seem to have exposed via their REST API v1.5 (not sure if they actually support it): https://cloud.lax.virtacore.com/API/versions

  • Problem loading in outlook express after changing Internet service providers.

    I have recently switch from Verizon to Comcast internet providers.  Since I had problems loading in outlook express.  One in a blue moon, it will actually connect, but more often than not, it does nothing.  It loads in the taskbar upwards and the titles of the mailbox, but if it connects, you can't do anything.  Help I am getting very frustrated.

    I don't know why the change of operator would make a difference. When it finally connects, you get mail?

    Then work on these steps.

    1: create a new Folders.dbx file.

    Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

    In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

    A new Folders.dbx file will be created when you open OE. Note these possible side effects:

    When you re - start OE, it will build a new index of all *.dbx files it can read and create a new Folders.dbx. Please understand that you will lose the mail directory structure, all the discussion lists and all synchronization options and message rules will probably have to be edited.

    2: do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box.  Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

    3: after you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

    Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

    3: disable e-mail scanning in your anti-virus program.  It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the processors and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs and account setting changes. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:

    For some programs, turning it off is not enough. You may need to uninstall and reinstall in custom Mode and remove the analysis when e-mail messages.

    If all else fails, try a new identity.

    You may have a damaged identity especially if it's the default main identity. File | Identity | Add the new identity. Create a new one and try it. If all goes well, you can import your messages and address book from the old identity and delete it.

    Note: Do not use the main word in the name of the new identity.

    last night I signed the on the web via my provider internet, shut down the computer, then remembered, I forgot to inform me, I tried to sign on and the at sign on had a rejection that "your user name or password is invalid. Turned on the router and the computer off, tried again the afternoon of HRT, even reject the message. Joe at Verizon, tried to help by giving me a different password and said I should be connected to Qeru1, wireless, but it has also shown that the computer is connected to Verizon, nothing worked, there then hooked me up with Microsoft, Annie, and she couldn't help me because my warranty has expired. It is a Gateway ML620 laptop model, running on Windows Vista.

    I use Windows XP to know how I can get the start icon to appear so that I can connect to the internet, can help you?

    1. have you tried to contact the service provider?
    2 are you referring to the username and password to start the internet connection?

     

    If you get the error message for the user name and password to start the internet connection I would contact the service provider whose account you are using to connect to the internet and check if you can connect properly.

    It's my story with my new Z10 camera:

    I bought a unlocked BB Z10. After that I went home, had a micro SIM so I just skipped this step. I was playing around with my camera and after that I found the update option in the settings I have improved the device to the 10.2.1.1925 OS version and the version of the 10.2.1.537 software.

    The second day I went to my cell phone provider (Orange Romania) and got a new SIM card for my device. "After a few days, I noticed that in the installer-> networks and connections-> Mobile network, there is a warning message:"the SIM card is not compatible"and the selected connection is said: orange 3 g - only voice".

     

    No matter if I chose manual or auto selection mod, I only got the voice without internet option option.

    After asking orange.ro forums support, I got the answer that I might have a faulty SIM card or my phone is locked on the other provider. My phone is unlocked, as you can see below:

    I went the orange shop the next day and asked for a replacement SIM card. After the installation of the new SIM, nothing has changed.

    I'm a little desperate, everything works, vocal, internet calls over wifi, but not the internet of my cell phone provider.

    That looks like a thing of network for me. The SIM card is limited by the way it is implemented in the system and it seems that yours might only have voice. I really call your provider and handed them to zero and all check. Sometimes, even if she says that you have this or that, he actually maybe not here. It happened to me in my work several times before. Plan said data are there, the paperwork said it has been activated, but nothing works. Only after I asked a network reset/re-provision begins all this work.

    My apologies if this has been posted and answered before. I'm new to the Blackberry development.

    I'm developing an application initially for the 8300 Series. Timing of the launch, my application tries to open an http connection to check the updates of the application.

    I have no problem, the application running on the Simulator, and if I add '; deviceside = true"to the url, the app works on an ATT device. However, when I run the application on a device, Verizon or T-Mobile, I get a network error, whether or not '; deviceside = true' is included.

    I tried messing around with the TCP APN settings on the device from T-mobile with no luck. The Verizon device does not appear to have that option at all. Browsers seem to work so there is a valid data connection.

    Anyone know what the problem is or what I could do wrong?
