OJP8600 sees no Web

I installed a new OfficeJet Pro 8600 N911a using the CD of installation (automatic) on a wireless network when he hooked after 99.9% finished.  I knew right then that it was going to be a long weekend!

Wireless network works fine.  I can print throughout the day on the network.  I can't get to the Internet with the built-in Web server so I can't set up ePrint.  I get the error "unable to connect to the server.  I'm using IE8 on a Win XP laptop.

I tried:

(1) the reset on the router and the printer power cord

(2) another browser (firefox)

(3) disabled the firewall

(4) printer firmware is up to date

(5) print and Scan reports doctor 'unknown error '... (gee... Thank you Mr Code writer)

(6) ePrint and Apps are turned on

When the integrated Web server says "Unable to connect to the server"... does that mean my ISP or the Actiontec Verizon router (gateway) Server?

The weekend is over, I am very frustrated... What's next?   Thanks for your help...

  • Graphics memory use DRS differ

    I have a strange problem with memory usage graphs. I have attached a screenshot below. It seems that the 'fat' client and webclient show a different use of the same cluster.

    The question is, am I missing something? What is the good?

    drs_memory_usage.jpg

    Hi Mark,

    Big question. In the new web client, we changed memory DRS use charts to show the use of active memory.

    The 'fat' client shows the memory consumed.

    DRS monitors only the active memory and base its action on the memory activates, it made more sense to show the use of active memory instead of consumption. In essence, we have changed the client so that it finally reflects the metric it uses for his calculations of load balancing.

    Please remember that VMware sees the web client the way forward, to effect change are made to service webclient only. So 'fat' client view use DRS has not kept up-to-date.

  • Text overlay

    Hi, is there a way I can achieve the same kind of page, but not on questions of text and the section running down the card logo.  If I do the screen smaller, shorter text map logo.  The page looks great on my IMac and my laptop windows but apparently on the old monitors the h1 and p tags sink on top of the card/logo.

    Appreciate any feedback.

    Site is http://kimberleywebdesign.com/index.html

    The page looks great on my IMac and my laptop windows but apparently on the old monitors the h1 and p tags sink on top of the card/logo.

    It's all monitors, not only the old ones.

    Avoid using position: absolute position everything on the page precisely where you want it.

    Because it removes the element of the natural flow of the page, position: absolute often has unintended consequences such as those you are experiencing now.

    Because the older ones are smaller and lower res, this question appears first. But he also appeared in the small windows of browser on hi res monitors. Everyone sees the web with full-screen browsers.

    Given that you create on a hi res monitor, always test your pages in various browser sizes. I check mine entering the lower RIGHT of the browser window and drag it through a series of different sizes to see the effect on the layout.

    Remove any positioning (relative and absolute) of your CSS and rearrange the page using margins and floats.

    for example

    {#card}
    Width: 475px;
    position: absolute;
    top: 122px;
    padding: 0;
    margin: 0;
    left: 0px;
    }

    can be replaced by

    {#card}
    float: left;
    margin-top: 122px

    }

    which leaves in the natural flow of the page so that the text wrapping around as expected in smaller browser windows.

    You can then float the other elements around it.

  • Firefox is to see an older version of my site web (IE sees the current version OK)

    FireFox has been to see my web site without problem until I changed the site this morning - bed the correct (new) page IE, but FF is still reading the old page V3.015 - I tried Cntrl R, but it makes no difference - the change I made to my website was a piece a minimum of coding nothing contentious

    You must remove your Ask toolbar that interferes with your User Agent string. It is probably the cause of your problem. I assume that you are not Fx 3,015. You can get some quick specific advice but otherwise use the search box above, Firefox Help for Ask and User Agent string.

  • I'm trying to connect to the internet and I am unable to do so. My screen says Internet Explore cannot display this Web page. I missed something in the settings? He sees my wireless and says acquiring network address... but not to go further.

    I tried to diagnose, disconnect and reconnect

    You have left out information such as how you connect to the Internet (cable/DSL? ISP?), the brand of your router, and whether other computers can connect to your router wirelessly with success. Also, we don't know whether there is an initial Setup or if you had this before work and now it just doesn't.

    I'm going to assume that this is the first installation then give you instructions on setting up a safe wireless router. Maybe that will make things work for you. If you need more information, be sure to include all missing information in your next post.

    Setting up a router is simple enough. Normally, you run the CD that came with the router and follow the instructions. But you can set up the router without the CD. Note that if you have Internet cable for the connection you have just set up the router to DHCP (or there may even be a choice of cable to choose). If you have DSL Internet, you select TRP usually and enter the username and password you selected when you initially set the DSL connection. So:

    1. turn off the power to your modem.
    2. attach a class (usually supplied with the router) ethernet cable cat5e Internet/WAN port of the router to the ethernet port on the modem.
    3. connect the ethernet cable cat5e from the network card in your computer to one of the ports on the router. If you do not have an ethernet cable (because you were using USB), you will need to go to the store and buy a.
    4. turn on the modem. After that all the lights are on, turn on the router.

    To configure the router:

    Have a computer connected to the router with an ethernet cable. Examples given are for a Linksys router. See the manual of your router or the router mftr's Web site. for the parameters by default if you don't have a Linksys. Open a browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox and in the address bar type:

    http://192.168.1.1 [Enter] (it is default IP address of the router, which varies from router to router then check your manual)

    This will bring you to the login screen of the router. The default username is blank and the Linksys default password is "admin" without the quotes. Enter this information. You are now in the configuration of the router utility. Your configuration utility may be slightly different from mine. The first thing to do is to change the default password because * all * known default passwords for different routers.

    Click the Administration link at the top of the page. Enter your new password. MAKE A NOTE SOMEWHERE THAT YOU WILL NOT LOSE. Re-enter the password to confirm it, and then click Save settings at the bottom of the page. The router will reboot and show you the box of connection again. Do not fill in the user name and put it in your new password to enter the configuration utility.

    Now, click on the link wireless at the top of the page. Change the network name (SSID) wireless by default to something, you'll recognize. I suggest that my clients not use their surname as the SSID. For example, you might want to name your network wireless network "CastleAnthrax" or similar. ;-)

    Click on save settings and when you get the prompt that your changes were successful, click the wireless security link which is just beside the Basic Wireless Settings link (where you changed your SSID). Most computers purchased during the last 4 years have the wireless hardware that will support WPA2-Personal (also known as WPA2-PSK). This is the desired encryption level. If your wireless hardware is older, use WPA. Don't use WEP, because who is easily broken within minutes. So go ahead and set the Security Mode WPA2-Personal. Do this and enter a password. For example, you could use the password ' here be dragons, beware you scurvy dogs! The password is what you enter on all computers that are allowed to connect to the wireless network. MAKE A NOTE SOMEWHERE THAT YOU WILL NOT LOSE.

    At this point, your router is set up and if the computer that you use to configure the router will normally connect wireless, disconnect the ethernet cable and wireless of the computer should see your new network. Enter the password that you have created (exactly as you wrote it with all capital letters and punctuation) to join the network and start surfing. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • How can I limit the number of attempts to print a web page

    I am trying to find a solution to a problem on our network.
    We run several kiosk machines that allow customers to print documents and web pages. However, we find that we are wasting a lot of ink because of the user frequently sending the same print job on the printer.
    Yesterday we had someone print more than 70 pages, because they just keep clicking on print.
    I tried looking for an add-on that would solve this but was not able to find one.
    My question is this, is there an internal setting that can be changed in firefox to limit the number of prints is trying to say once every 30 seconds, or even a way to make a dialog box turns on screen saying that the print request is currently dealing and does nor print before completing the task at hand.

    Sorry, there no setting in Firefox to avoid that from happening. Once the user sees the "native print dialog" box (which is seen when you Ctrl + P for print), the operating system and the printer drivers are here.

    I saw something similar to that on kiosk / PC rental stores Office of FedEx, which inform the user of the cost per page, the user wants to send to a printer, and when the user click again to the same pages again, he asked if you want to spend another $x.xx to print a second copy. Would not too different to simply cut the printing of multiple copies of the same document and warn the user of this action.

    My advice is to discuss it with anyone who put in place these kiosks to be with.

  • Errors in text or Web Twitter sites

    Hello

    I receive errors of text on the Web page of Twitter.com and sees only a few bars / broken characters e.g. here - http://i39.tinypic.com/34t4yma.jpg

    However when starting in safe mode I do not get errors on the site of Twitter.com e.g. here - http://i41.tinypic.com/9ibl1s.jpg

    It seems that the only site that has this problem as well as a few other similar sites, has been like this for a few months.

    Other Solutions, I tried:

    -Created the new profile / result = same error

    -People with disabilities all extensions/add-ons custom = same error

    -Disabled the Antivirus software? / result = same error

    -Start in SafeMode fixed = /result

    How to eliminate this problem without starting in safe mode?

    Twitter.com also works very well in other browsers.

    Thank you

    Hello

    Safe mode also disables hardware acceleration in addition to the installed Extensions, themes (appearance). The manual hardware acceleration setting is in Tools (Alt + T) > Options > Advanced > general > use hardware acceleration when available. You may need to reboot after disabling/enabling the option. Options > Advanced

    Options

    Hardware acceleration.

  • How to speed up the reflection of my changes to my Web site?

    I have a new Web site. When I edit the site and then go to it as an 'outsider' through firefox, my changes do not appear for a day or two. How can I speed up so I can see how the website instead of having to wait so long?

    Firefox tries to cache as much as possible. When you do rapid iterations, this can lead wrongly showing you an old version of Firefox cache.

    To see what sees a 'new' visitor, reload the page using one of the following methods to work around the cache:

    Shift + Ctrl + r

    Key Shift + Reload

    A little luck?

  • Satellite A60 - connected to the WIFI but can't get on the WEB

    Hello

    I have a really strange problem with my Satellite A60. I have a US robotics wireless router. I can connect with my laptop, in the sense where it says that it acquires an IP address and then he said: it is connected, but then it is not possible to browse the web or access to the router. Let me also point out that:

    -The internet connection works fine if I connect the laptop to the router via a cable (for example, I can access the router)
    -J' have a second computer that is connected via WIFI to router and it sees no problem (it goes up an adapter for US Robotics)
    -WEP encryption is active, but I'm sure that the key is correct. I also try to disable but did not help
    -MAC address filtering is enabled, but the laptop WIFI card is in the list. I also tried to disable content filtering, but it did not help
    -J' also tried to remove the encryption and MAC address filtering, but it did not help
    -In past I could connect to other networks WLAN with my laptop

    I hope that I have provided sufficient detail so that someone can try to help me.
    Thank you in advance!

    Hello!

    I think that the integrated firewall router and dhcp server integrated are the first things to check. May be there are separate configuration for Ethernet and WIFI connections options. Check if your wireless connection is "default gateway" address when the computer shows that it is connected to WIFI. If no default gateway address is then most likely it's dhcp or confiuration problem your router firewall.

  • HP photosmart TouchSmart Web 7510

    Hello!

    My device: hp photosmart 7510.

    My problem: does not program TouchSmart Web.

    When you click on the program web icons (Facebook, DreamWorks and others) on the screen I get the warning: the TouchSmart Web application does not respond. Try again later.
    With computer printing is supported. Print Web works correctly. The unit sees the network and see.

    Restored on the device to the factory settings, changed my network - nothing works. The answer is always the same.

    The results of the validation of a wireless network: no problem.

    When you configure the first (beginning) everything has worked.

    My guess: stopped the TouchSmart Web work program.

    How can I be in this situation? Can I reinstall TouchSmart Web?

    P.S. Sorry for the errors in the text - wrote a dictionary (I live in Ukraine).

    Hello

    Mine is ok now. Firmware update can help, but before that please perform a test by sending a job to his e-mail address to see it actually connected to the internet or not.

    To be honest: I don't bother not use them because it's a way to drain the expensive inks.

    Kind regards.

  • LabView 2013 or 2014 Web Application Server does not start.

    I have a request that I built in 2013 of LabView that uses the Web application server OR. The application worked until end November 2014 when the Web in LabView 2013 application server has stopped working. Specifically, 2 and 1) NI NI Application Server Web services) Web Server system both were running, but I was unable to access web pages that I created earlier, or I could access the Configuration Web page OR localhost:3582. In addition, the button "Configure Web Application Server" under "Options/Web Server" is gray. Makes me think that web services NOR did not start successfully upward. Complete a repair facility OR to the LabView 2013 install did not help either.

    Since the opening of a service ticket with NEITHER, I've now deleted and reinstalled the 2013 LabView and LabView 2014 each with the latest patches. But the problem persists.

    The ticket OR for that matter now rests with RnD, so I'm tender hand to the community OR to see if anyone sees something similar? Or has any ideas to try?

    Some additional notes:

    (1) contrary to LabView LabView 2013 2014 no web services NOR would begin, based on a new for 2014 dependence on the Authentication Service of NOR. In 2014 this service does not either.

    (2) when I uninstall 2014 and re-install 2013, chess happens again (as above).

    (3) my system runs Win 7 Pro x 64 with 8 GB of RAM.

    (4) I have McAfee virus scanner/firewall. I have disabled and even uninstalled without correcting the problems.

    At this point any ideas to try would be greatly appreciated, because I can't wipe my OS and start over.

    Thank you

    * Update *.

    I finally found a solution to this problem. The solution is the following:

    1. Delete the two files "C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\NIAuth"

      • commitmark.1
      • Registry.bin
    2. Restart the OS and re-launching of LabView.

    On the next reboot, LabView recreates these two files and the Web services OR Windows services start normally. Once NI WebService which works normally.

    I'm assuming that one or both of these files has become corrupted at some point, that has kept the WebServices OR start properly. But as none of the services OR created an error event Windows for that matter, I stayed to search for the solution. And since the installer NOR has not remove or repair any of these files, the question continues to no matter how many times I have re-installed LabView on my system.

    I can stick this same path in the Open box of excel and the data loads perfectly...

    This is because Excel does some fancy way, analysis, sees the URL and load the file on the web rather than from the local disk. It is in no way standard behavior (although perhaps, it will be in a few years). Until then, you can not treat a URL - an address for a file on a remote web server - as a local file. RavensFan suggestion might work if you set the sharing of files on the remote computer, but then you do file sharing, do not download from the web. To download a file on the web, use the HTTP screw or a Datasocket Read, which is probably the easiest option here. For Datasocket Read, provide the URL (http://10...) as well as the connection to the wire one string empty type. You will have the entire file as a string on the output data, which you can subscribe to the channel of spreadsheet in table for a table.
