Old photos

Can someone tell me how to clean a very old photograph over 100 years which is covered with black spots everywhere. The faces are the most difficult and clothing.

The Photoshop desktop application would be the best tool to use for serious repair. You can download a trial version for 30 days here: Lightroom and Photoshop | Plan of creative photography of cloud of Adobe

I use Photoshop Fix to repair skin, here are my measurements:

  • Switch to tools of healing (bottom)
  • Heal spot automatically, is painting on the area to be repaired with your finger
  • If the tone & color do not match, click the tool room (downstairs)
  • Keep in the red zone (Spot Heal) > drag to a better replacement on the picture box
  • Once completed, I often use the rounded tool to blur evidence

I just created this little video to illustrate some of the tools. You cannot see where I am on the go, but red described area is replaced by the skin to other parts of the picture (until it fits).

    Hello Dulceallison,

Please ask questions on iCloud and photos after the iOS 10 update here in Apple Support communities. We don't like hearing about questions after each update or upgrade. I am pleased to offer you some things to check to help you with your photos are blurred and alerts that you have received with iCloud.

The first thing we want to make sure is that all your data is safe. You can perform a backup to iCloud or iTunes. Use this article to help with this: backing up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

Once your data is safe, we need to verify your configuration and ensure iCloud library is enabled and check if you are using the storage optimization feature. Please open this help link: iCloud photo library. There is a section on titled mid-race "save space on the device. He talks about the storage settings optimize. When this option is enabled, you will get in their original, high-resolution images of resolution lower, while iCloud library keeps all your photos and videos. You can check and see what images are stored in iCloud by clicking on this link: icloud.com, sign in using the same Apple ID that is connected on your iPhone. Click on the Photos. If you use iCloud photo library, you will be able to see all your photos. Upstairs in the Center, it allows you to see Moments or Albums, and if you scroll all the way down it will tell you how many photos and videos that you have. Also, some scroll down and try to check a few who appear fuzzy on your iPhone. Icloud.com are also blurred it?

If you use iCloud photo library, and even if you see lower resolution versions of the photos on your iPhone, they should not be blurred. Make sure that you have made a backup and then please go to settings > iCloud on your iPhone. Turn off the photo library iCloud, wait a minute or two and then turn it back on. It should be re - synchronize your iPhone with iCloud. Check if the images are still unclear. If they are, please fully sign off iCloud on your iPhone. There are options to save contacts on the iPhone, and other documents and other will be deleted form the unit. Don't worry, this information is recorded with iCloud and also saved in the backup. Once all signed, restart your iPhone. This article will help you if you need the steps to restart the appliance: restart your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch. Once the device powers turn it back on, go ahead and return to the settings > iCloud. Sign in with the same Apple ID that was signed previously. It may take a few minutes to return all documents, data, photos, contacts, and calendars, but once this is done, go ahead and check your photos. They match the icloud.com images? Are they accuse still blurry on your iPhone only? See if you can isolate a specific set of images, or if all the photos on the iPhone are blurred.

I hope that steps with deactivation and activation of photos in iCloud or logout and back in iCloud has resolved the issue, but if not, please provide the information for the steps that we have achieved together so far and I'll be more than happy to continue checking of other options to get this working as expected with you. Thanks again and have a great rest of your day.

  • Lost a phone, Got new, but not of old photos/files

A few days ago, I lost my phone here in Paris.

I didn't have much choice but to get a new phone and SIM here in France.

The old phone has not been saved on the cloud, since I have backup directly to my computer. I have not saved since I left 3 weeks ago.

So with my new phone, I took some photos yesterday.  I have set up as good as new. Is not restored because my computer is still in the United States. When I got home, the new phone connected to Wi - fi, started filling with pictures 3 weeks ago. I turned backup to the cloud for sure all that is saved. I was pretty happy so far.

This morning, I found none of the photos from my old phone on the stream of the new phone. I thought that she was saved on my cloud. I checked my iCloud desktop, and none of the old photos are here. I am currently at the Apple Store in the Louvre. Nobody here can give me a solution.

Any help will be much appreciated.

You use Apple the same ID as the old phone?

Have you seen the old phone synchronization iCloud photo library?

  • Old photos have not been deleted, even if it's been more than 2 months and keep crashing the photo library in icloud.

Earlier this year, I used the library to icloud to back up my photos. Everything worked well. After awhile, I deleted the photos and off synchronization from photo library. Today, I decided that I wanted to use again, so I turned it on. It seems to work fine but when I connect to my PC I have the chance to see the old photos have not been removed. They seem to be corrupt (there is an exclamation mark instead of a thumbnail) and I can not open them, instead the library hangs. It has been more than 2 months, I suppose that even if I forgot to delete some photos, they should be gone now. Is there a way to fix this?

    a few things

1 - iCloud Photo is not a backup - it's a synchronization service - see FAQ-apples iCloud Photo library FAQ - Apple Support

    More precisely

    Do I need a backup?

ICloud library stores all of your photos and original videos in iCloud, but we still recommend that track you return of copies of your library. You can upload your photos and videos to iCloud on your computer and store them in a separate library, transfer them to another computer with transfer of images or Photosor store them on a separate disk.

2 - ICPL can be accessed through Safari - connect to iCloud.com can click on the picture and see what's there - look in the recently deleted album and see what's there

    3. we need to know the details - you have other devices using the same iCloud account?

  • Pictures not download old photos to icloud

    Hello

I have a mac mini server mid-2010 running OS X El Capitan version 10.11.4.

I have the version 1.5 of the photos.

I have a considerable amount of old photos that have never been transferred to iCloud. I can think back to August 2013 on the iCloud.com site and my other devices (iPhone, iPad, mac book).

When I go to Preferences (in photos) I have iCloud photo library, my photo stream and checked iCloud photo sharing. I optimize Mac selected storage but I tried to download originals for the mac too. It is said to date earlier, which means she feels he has uploaded and downloaded everything to iCloud but this is incorrect.

Another response of support that I have seen that the person has proposed to cancel the process of cloudd and I did. No change. I've also seen to disconnect from iCloud in system preferences, iCloud, disconnect you. When I do this it says that your iCloud library is updating. He warned that all images not downloaded will be deleted. My only options are to turn off or continue the update. Ive tried to continue the update not for about 4 days and no change.

Can anyone help with what I can do to get the photos uploaded to iCloud for backup and access on all my devices?

It is said to date earlier, which means she feels he has uploaded and downloaded everything to iCloud but this is incorrect.

Create a smart album in your photo library ' file > new Smart Album.

Define the constraint for the smart album for "picture is unable to download to iCloud photo library." This album is empty?  If this is not the case, look at the photo format.  Some file formats more prevent the upload to iCloud photo library, for example "PICT", TIFF formats with more than 8 bits, or similar.

Also the files that were imported as referenced cannot download on iCloud photo library and will show as "Local." only

Search for "Photo is referenced" as well.

  • I can't delete old photos on my iPad version 8.1.3. What should I do?

I have an iPad version 8.1.3 April 2012. I am told now that the capacity is full. I then tried to remove a lot of old photos of 2012, 2013 and 2014, but there is no rubbish, so I do not know how to proceed. What should I do?

How the pictures came on the iPad? If they have been synchronized from a computer, you cannot delete directly on the iPad, you must reconnect the iPad to iTunes to your computer and use the Photos tab in iTunes to change your selection of photo sync and Resync. To remove all synced photos try selecting and sync just an empty folder

  • Photos saving disk space to share images with your iPhoto or Aperture libraries.  Should which library I use to remove old photos?  If I delete old photos in iPhotos appear in pictures and vice versa?

Should which library I use to remove old photos?  iPhoto or Photos?

If you migrated a library iPhoto to Photos and you want to release the storage, you should remove the pictures of these two libraries.

Related photos storage only comes out, after that the last linked file has been deleted.  If you do not use more of the iPhoto library, move it to a backup drive. Then simply delete the photos of your new photo library.

  • Print issues with old photos scanned .jpeg prints too large & can't print in black & white

I have a bunch of old photos & scanned articles of a scanner flat of maybe 10 years ago or not.   These are all .jpeg files.

First of all, when I print on the Windows Live Photo Gallery, they are all print in color, no matter if I change my printer settings or if I go in settings in Windows Live Photo Gallery and deselect color.

Secondly, not printing in black & white, they all print out extra large and therefore do not fit on an 8 1/2 x 11 pages.  All this elements analysed in years were roughly between 3 "x 5" until maybe 8 'x 10'. "  The fact is that they don't print as I would like.

One last question, is that I have a newspaper article large .pdf format.  I printed it weeks and had no point of color above.  But I printed this on paper 11 "x 17".pdf file.  She printed on the entire page, but it was stopped at the bottom of each printed page, and I don't understand why.  Which certainly confused me.  Any suggestions?  My plan was to save the pages together to view the log what it was.  It's pages of the newspaper of 1886.

    Thank you

    Hi Sue,

We apologize for the delay in response.

This problem occurs with the printer settings.

I wish that you run the printer Troubleshooter and see if that fixes the problem.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-printer-Troubleshooter

Note: He made sure that a printer is connected to your computer, and it checks for common issues such as whether the printer has enough paper and toner to complete printing your document.

If the problem persists, please refer to the article and check if it helps.

If the problem persists, please answer with the number of the printer model to verify if there is no known issue.

    Thank you.

  • Old photos have reproduced after importation, the images from the camera

Original title: pictures were reproduced during the transfer of the camera

Hi - I clicked on import images from my camera to the computer that has been done successfully, but my old pictures exist duplicate? /?  I had checked before hand on the help page - where windows 7 stipulate that

Why I can't choose which photos or videos to import?

Windows detects your images and your most recent videos and is not a duplicate of the old photos or video versions that you have already copied to your computer, so you can import your pictures and videos in a single step. You can then view and organize your photos in the photo library. For more information on the management and organization of photos in the photo library, see Managing your photos. You can also view your images imported into the Windows Photo Viewer, where the large preview format makes it easier to decide which newly imported pictures to delete from your computer. For more information on the display of your pictures in Windows Photo Viewer, view and use your pictures in Windows Photo Viewer.

To organize your videos, you can use the videos library. For more information about managing and organizing your videos in the videos library, see Managing your videos.

    Was it useful?

If you could help with a quick method to remove all my duplicate photos I would really appreciate it.  I have nearly 400 of them

    Hello

Did you use the functionality of Windows or all third-party software to import files previously?

    Sorry to hear that.

When you import files, the same files will not be imported if the file names are the same. If you used a third-party software to import files previously, then the name of the file may be different.

You can sort files by date and then try to remove the recently added files however, you should recognize the duplicate files.

See the site for how to sort the files:

Organize, sort, or group your files

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/is-is/Windows7/arrange-sort-or-group-your-files

If you need help let me know and I'll help you.

I recently changed to windows 7 from vista. I was wondering if there is a way to recover old photos of the vista operating system... If so can someone help me

If you did an upgrade and not a clean install, they must remain on your drive. Do a search of *.jpg, *.jpeg and see what you get. If I remember correctly, you will have a folder windows.old that they appear in. You can use Windows Explorer if you want to look in your records in the Windows.Old directory.

    I hope this helps.

  • Hesitant to import my old photos into Lightroom as they have all been published on my Sony play memories... wouldn't be better to just start with the new pictures that I take every day?  (not published)

You could start with new photos which gives you a good idea for the application and use of cursors to develop. The change of Lightroom is completely non-destructive. All changes are stored in a database (catalog) so your original is never touched. Perhaps you could bring more old photos already on your computer, a file at a time, when you're ready. Use Import > Add.

To import new photos from a camera or card use Import > copy

  • Restoration of old photos 'crocodile' skin

    Hello

I read a very interesting article (http://www.digitalcameraworld.com/2013/01/18/restore-old-photos-how-to-rescue-vintage-prin ts-and-family-images/2 /) on the restoration of old photos. Many of these techniques are quite useful and helped me to solve the fundamental problems of the photos of the 1960s.

I have a very specific problem, although with a few photos, we look like the 'crocodile' skin and the other is more like a hive of bees, I ask you your opinion as to which method to use to eliminate. Here are a few close-ups of the two cases:

    Skin 'crocodile ':

    Untitled-3.jpg

    "Hive":

    Untitled-2.jpg

I don't even know why or how these photos done like that. But looks like a tricky thing. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you!!

The effect of your original image is called crack and you will most often see in old paintings. To reduce or eliminate, you can:

    1. open the file and add a duplicated layer (Cmd + J)

    2. filter > blur > Gaussian blur with a RADIUS sufficient to lose all the reprehensible cracks. I found, with your image, it took a muscular radius of 20 pixels. (When you remove freckles, it takes much less.)

3, in the history panel, click the check box next to Gaussian blur to move the tool form of history in this area.

    4. still in the history panel click on the stage directly above the market of Gaussian blur.  Note that the blur has disappeared from your image.

    5. choose the tool shape history in the list of tools and because the crack is darker than the skin and you want to eliminate, in the Options bar, change the mode to lighten.

    6. with the paint history sharp brush through small areas of the surface taking care to avoid the places that appear sharp - or as strong as this picture seems to be.

The lines dark crack will be replaced. In this case the step 6 took a few minutes.

  • Difficulty of grain of old photo paper

How can you correct paper grain in one

    old photo

I tried to run filter clipping on the version of 1200 dpi, but there was a message that it could not process. Could be that the dot in the image noise is not something that the clipping can handle. Are the dots on the image of origin or as a result of the analysis? If the latter, clipping web site gives top tips on how to scan to be clipped with success.  If you want to try these that it I can try to re-run the clipping.

    http://www.DeScreen.NET/eng/help/DeScreen/home/descreen_manual.htm

During this time I tried a method to minimize the points using the median filter in PES. I also remove some of the tears, scratches and other imperfections. This is the result of before - after. Note that the picture is a little blurry by the median filter, but maybe it's acceptable, or I can try a bit of sharpness. In addition, antique sepia tone could look nice.

  • Why the dehaze cursor does not work in Lightroom CC in old photos

Why is it not the CC Lightroom dehaze cursor available for old photos

    davidb36894620 wrote:

Why is it not the CC Lightroom dehaze cursor available for old photos

As it is explained that old image files have probably been processed in LR 1, 2 or 3 with process Version 2003 or 2010, which does not support the new Dehaze filter. You will need to click on the lightning icon in the histogram to update the image to PV2012file. Old image with the command 'Dehaze' available files were probably converted to PV2012 in a session of previous edition or at the current session by pressing the button "Reset".

A picture is worth a thousand words...

LR will attempt to settle the basic Panel tone controls so that they correspond to the settings of the previous version, but it does not always work well. Check the "review changes via before and after" from the context menu to compare the new PV2012 settings that will apply. If the results are less than optimal I suggest a double click on the word "Your" in the base Panel to perform the settings for 0 and start over from exposure control down.
