  • Cannot connect after update monthly weather gadget.

Hello, my weather of MS gadget just stopped working right this morning after the reboot required by the monthly batch of updates that happened recently. It just says: unable to connect to the service. Any attempt to change the city just returns not found location. No other changes have occurred on the machine outdoors updates MS. Suppression and relocation of the gadget have the same results. The gadget, however, works very well on the administrator account, but all the standard users see the just failed to connect to the service. I even added a new standard user account and the problem persists. I tried most of the things that I could find in the forums but no luck...

Have you checked if your Internet Explorer is not set to work offline.

    Update:
Microsoft has DISABLED the weather gadgets and currency via a recent update of security, because of worries about the vulnerability associated with these gadgets running on your computer. You can read more here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2719662 . Adjust the settings of your computer and all these other 'suggestions' people are, will NOT work. The function has been REMOVED from the operating system. It has also been removed from Windows 8 operating system. There are "theorists" who agrees that there is a security problem in the gadgets or Microsoft just doesn't support gadgets (usually from third party software) and has therefore disabled them in Windows 7 and eliminated in Windows 8.

  • My Macbook Pro does'nt connect after update to 10.11.6

    Hi all.

After update from my Macbook Pro to 10.11.6 he starts, but after entering my password, then pressing enter shows the loading animation and it is.  I let him go lastnight believe he worked at something after the update, but this morning, nothing...

    An advise, please.

    Kind regards

    Fabio

Please take each of these steps that you have not already tried it. Some of them are not applicable to your model or your situation. Stop when the problem is resolved.

To restart a computer is not responding, press and hold the power button for a few seconds until the unit turns off, then release, wait a few seconds and press again briefly.

    Step 1

The first step to respond to a startup failure is to secure data. If you want to keep the contents of the boot drive and you have not already at least a current backup, you should try to back up now, before we do anything else. It may or may not be possible. If you don't care the data changed since the last backup, you can skip this step.

There are several ways to back up a Mac that is unable to boot. You need an external hard drive to store backup data.

    a. starting the partition recovery or an hour Local Machine backup volume (button option key at startup). When the OS X Utilities appears, launch disk utility and follow the instructions in this article to support. You'll be 'restoration' the boot on the backup volume volume.

If you use 2 FileVault, you must first unlock the boot volume. Select its icon ("Macintosh HD", unless you have given it a different name.) It will be nested under another icon of the disc. Select open in the file menu. When you are prompted, enter your login password.

    (b) If step 1 fails due to disk errors, and no other Mac is available, then you may be able to save some of your files by copying them in the Finder. If you already have an external hard drive with OS X installed, the start of it. Otherwise, if you have access to the Internet, follow the instructions on this page to prepare the external hard drive and install OS X on it. You will use the installation program of recovery, rather than download it from the App Store.

    c. If you have access to a Mac, and it work and have both the non-working Mac FireWire ports or stroke, start the Mac non-working in target disk mode. Work Mac to copy the data to another drive. This technique will not work with USB, Ethernet, Wi - Fi or Bluetooth.

    d. If the internal drive of the non-working Mac is replaceable by the user, remove it and climb into a docking station that is pregnant or an external drive. Use another Mac to copy the data.

    Step 2

If you have booted from an external drive, make sure that the internal boot volume is selected in the pane of the system preferences Startup disk.

Start in safe mode. Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is defined, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can not do this. If you do not see the words "Safe Boot" in the start screen, you did not start in safe mode. Ask for additional instructions.

Safe mode is much slower to boot and run as normal, and some things don't work at all, including the networks without wire on some Macs.

The login screen is displayed even if you normally connect automatically. You must know the password for the connection to connect. If you have forgotten the password, you will have to reset it before you begin.

If the startup progress bar gets stuck for more than a few minutes, or the system stops automatically when the progress bar appears, the boot volume is corrupted and the player is probably defective. In this case, go to step 9. If you have another problem with the player, replace it immediately.

If you can start and log in in safe mode, empty the trash and then open the window of info on the boot volume ("Macintosh HD", unless you have given it a different name.) Make sure you have at least 9 GB of space available, as shown in the window. If you do not, copy as many files as necessary on another volume (not another folder on the same volume) and delete the originals. Deletion is not complete until you empty the trash again. This, until the space is more than 9 GB. Then restart as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)

If the boot process hangs again, the problem is probably caused by third-party software you have installed. Ask for additional instructions.

    Step 3

If the startup process stops at a gray screen together with a mobile cursor, then the logon dialog box may be active but not visible because of a bug. You may be able to connect by using the arrow keys or the cursor to select the password field and type your password as usual.

    Step 4

Case of failure of step 3, the boot volume can be complete. If you saw previously implemented guard space drive is low, it is certainly the case. You might be able to start in safe mode , even if you cannot boot normally. Otherwise, boot from an external hard drive, or well technology for step 1b, 1 c or 1 d allows to mount the internal drive and delete some files. According to the documentation from Apple, you need at least 9 GB of free space on the boot (as shown in the Infolog) for normal operation volume.

    Step 5

If a Mac desktop (without the built-in keyboard) crashes on a gray screen together with a mobile cursor, the keyboard may not be recognized. Hold down the button on the side of a wireless Apple keyboard to make it discoverable. If need be, replace or recharge the batteries. If you use a USB keyboard connected to a hub, connect it to a built-in port.

    Step 6

Sometimes, a startup failure can be solved by resetting the NVRAM.

    Step 7

If there is an integrated optical drive, a disk may be stuck in there. Follow these instructions to remove it.

    Step 8

Press and hold the power button until the unit turns off. Disconnect all devices wired except those needed to start and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Use another keyboard and/or mouse, if these devices are wired. If you can start now, one of the devices that you disconnected, or a combination of both, the origin of the problem. Discover that it is a process of elimination.

    Step 9

Launch the utility disk in recovery mode (see step 1). Select the boot volume, and then run the repair disk. If problems are found, repeat until that clear. If disk utility reports that the volume is not repairable, the drive is defective and must be replaced. You can choose to tolerate such malfunction in the reader's life. In this case, delete the volume and restore it from a backup. If the same thing happens again, replace the drive immediately.

It is one of the rare situations where you must also run repair permissions, ignoring the erroneous warnings, that it can produce. Look for the line "Permissions repair complete" at the end of the output. Then restart as usual.

    Step 10

If the boot device is an aftermarket SSD, it may have an update and/or a forced "garbage collection". Instructions how to do this with a Crucial SSD of brand have been posted here. Some of these instructions may apply to other brands of SSDS, but you should check with the technical support of the provider.

    Step 11

Reinstall the OS. If the Mac has upgraded an earlier version of Mac OS X, you need the Apple ID and password used to upgrade.

    Step 12

Do as in step 11, but this time clear the disk utility boot volume before installing. The system should automatically restart in The Migration Wizard. Follow the prompts to transfer data from one Time Machine or another backup.

    Step 13

This step applies only to models that have a battery logic-board ("PRAM"): all of the Mac Pro, MacBook with a removable main battery and a few others (models not updated). A flat battery logic-board may cause a boot failure. In general the failure will be preceded by the loss of the system and boot disk clock settings. Refer to the user manual for replacement instructions. You may need to take the machine to a provider of services to have to replace the battery.

    Step 14

If you get this far, you probably deal a hardware failure. An appointment of 'Genius' to an Apple Store, or select another authorized service provider.

I am a novice user and have a Satellite C660 under warranty that I don't use for surfing the net and Ebay so I hope I can explain my problem!

Toshiba bulletin board said that the need to update BIOS, so I followed the instructions but since then I have no internet connection, and cannot restore the connection that I lost all help Toshiba Bulletin Board today lost and none of the programs to sort the problems work - e.g.set assistants etc. I did not yet create rescue disks, but if I try to create them now I'll be able to restore to factory settings?

Can someone tell me if it's a failure caused by the BIOS update or I would return laptop to John Lewis for repair? Thank you very much for reading this

    Hey Buddy,

The default settings in the BIOS load after update? If this is not the case, go into the BIOS and load the default settings. You can enter the BIOS if you press F2 before Windows start and then press the F9 key to load defaults. Then save & exit the BIOS Setup.

You can access the Internet now?
You try to access the Internet with LAN or WLAN connection?

Also check device manager if all devices are recognized correctly.

    > I did not yet create rescue disks, but if I try to create them now I'll be able to restore to factory settings?
You can create the Toshiba Recovery disk every time. Just launch the pre-installed Toshiba Recovery Media Creator and follow the instructions on the screen. You need just a few blank DVDs to create the discs. Disks contain a factory image of settings which can be restored each time and how many times you want to so with these disks, you are on the safe side ;)

    Hello

You will have to return before updates, which is unfortunate.

See if this helps you; the first part is what you must try as you say you know your password.

    Look at scenario 2

And you should make a password reset disk before you forgot your password, not afterwards.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/940765

If you are unable to connect to Windows 7 or Windows Vista, you can use the Windows Vista System Restore feature, or the Windows 7 system restore feature.

You may be unable to connect to Windows Vista or Windows 7 in the following scenarios:

    • Scenario 1: You recently set a new password for the protected administrator account. However, you don't remember the password.
    • Scenario 2: You type the correct password. However, Windows Vista or Windows 7 does not accept the password because the system is damaged.
    • Scenario 3: You delete a protected administrator account. Now, you cannot connect to another administrator account.
    • Scenario 4: You change an administrator account protected with a standard user account. Now, you cannot connect to another administrator account.

I run Windows 7 and cannot open Firefox after update to v 30.0. I uninstalled and reinstalled several times without success. I do, however, show: firefox.exe * 32 in the section of the Task Manager processes. • Cannot connect after Windows Update

I have the same problem but on Windows 7. After installing the updates I can no longer connect. I get an error that the login or password is incorrect. I don't think that hurt, I type the password. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    hpuszyns,
If you are able to boot mode safe mode with command prompt, then you can use the DISM tool to remove the most recent updates.  Then you can see if you are able to connect.

    DISM to remove the updates.

Start under System Recovery Options , and select command prompt

At the prompt, run the following command:

    DISM/Online/Get-Packages

This will produce a list of updates installed and packets.  They will look like this:

    The package identity: WUClient-SelfUpdate-Core-TopLevel ~ 31bf3856ad364e35 ~ x 86 ~ ~ 7.4.7600.226

    Status: installed

    Output type: Feature Pack

    Install time: 25/09/2009 12:02 AM

Find the most recent and then make a note of the name of the package.

    Then run: dism/Online/Remove - Package PackageName:WUClient-SelfUpdate-Core-TopLevel ~ 31bf3856ad364e35 ~ x 86 ~ ~ 7.4.7600.226(name of update from previous step)

    Then restart your PC.

You want to start with the most recent and remove them one at a time to find the update problem.

  • Cannot connect after restarting Windows Update 23/02/10

    Hello
I'm having a problem after auto restart of the latest updates of Vista.
I don't know what specific update may have caused a problem, but as a tech person his life, I can see an update as the only reason for my problem. Restart the update took place earlier today 23/02/2010

My problem is that my password for the user only account that I have on this PC no longer works. I tried by default all passwords I can think of and none work. I've seen similar problems since that a restoration of the system through safe mode may solve this issue however start in any safe mode, I invite me for the password for the connection. It's where that plan falls apart, he told me that "user name or password is invalid":

I have an account, and the password is quite typical.
I don't have a backup disk or a USB pen to reset or change the password.
I don't have any of my discs to install due to travel abroad.

    Anyone with similar problems?
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Concerning
    Andy

    AndyUK506,
If you are able to boot mode safe mode with command prompt, then you can use the Manager of Package to remove the updates. Then you can see if you are able to connect.  If this doesn't help you need to see what options of recovery you would have the recovery on your system partition.   If you are able to do an inplace upgrade reload Windows and let your data in tact. • U410 - cannot connect after Windows Update after restore factory when the time zone is not UTC-8.

    Steps to reproduce the error:

1 use OneKey recovery to restore the initial factory settings.

    2. on the initial setup of Windows screen, select a time zone to UTC - 8, UTC (London)

    3. connect to Windows, open the Windows Update control panel and click on "Install updates"

4 restart the computer to complete the update.

    5. on the login screen, try to connect or shutdown the computer.

    Result:

Computer is blocked with the only desktop wallpaper and mouse pointer visible. Does not meet all the keys. By pressing the power button sleep machine. Press again on he wakes the machine in the blocked State.

I have reproduced this problem 3 times for initial help restore every time.

    Wordaround:

Before starting the factory restore processes, set the clock of system by 24 hours. After the end of the restoration of the factory, set the system clock to the correct time.

Otherwise, wait 24 hours between a factory reset and try to install the Windows updates.

    Analysis:

This problem is caused because of the way that Windows stores time. It assumes that the system clock is set to local time rather than UTC. When you use the OneKey recovery system he doesn't know what time zone of the system clock is set on, and so it assumes that it is set to UTC - 8. If it is in fact the UTC value, OneKey Recovery creates files with a time stamp of 8 hours in the future. This causes the Windows Update to fail.

One step that I forgot to mention, that may be important:

After the installation of the plant, during the initial configuration screens, I updated the time zone GMT London.

Since the OneKey recovery uses GMT - 8, this can cause some files to have a timestamp of 8 hours in the future. Maybe if I waited 8 hours before the update of this problem would not occur. I'll test this by setting the clock system for 1 week in the past, make reset factory and then it retroactively to the correct date before the update.

EDIT: Test successfully. This workaround works.

  • Citrix connectivity after updating to 2.3 problem

    Hello

We improve our lab CPO from 2.2 to 2.3 environment and installed patch 2 and 3.

The CPO console can be accessed directly on the server by the client, but not by a citrix connection.

At the launch of the console through Citrix, we see two different errors at different times:

    (1) cannot access the ADAPTERS\Tidal.Automation.Sap.Custom.dll file, because it is used by another process.

    (2) Tidal.Automation.Console.exe - .NET Framework initialization error: "to run this application, you must first install one of the following versions of the .NET Framework: v4.0.30319.

Error 1 is first seen after several attempts to start the console through Citrix, 1 error disappears and we see error 2. .NET framework: v4.0.30319 is installed on the OPC Server and the machine that we are trying to launch the CPO through Citrix application.

East - the .NET Framework v4 must be updated on the Citrix server as well?

    Thank you

    For

    (1) do you use SAP or ABAP connections? You must make sure you upgrade to the NCO 3.0.6 or later for use with 2.3. It's in the guide of the abap.

As far as citrix goes, I don't know. As much as I know QA/support/dev do not test against configurations of citrix. I'll take this way of developments as well, but probably need to address a case for it.

I tried the restore via iTunes mode. Software downloaded and extracted.  Then I get the error message "the iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (3194). »

  • Firefox on Win XP does not connect after update! Possible causes?

Two weeks ago Firefox auto-installé the latest version. The browser immediately lost the connection with the internet. I can't open new sites t and already open tabs cannot be updated.
I have since trip, where the late issue.

For better or for worse the Windows Firewall is not enabled.

I am running Windows XP Pro on an AMD dual-core computer.

The strange thing is a previous instance used Opera as your primary browser seems to work perfectly, I use it now to write this.

An attempt to install of Google Chrome has failed due to internet connection issues?

Latest Firefox on a Linux partition works perfectly afaics.

A new upgrade of a downloaded installation file did not resolve the issue, nor has an uninstall and a clean reinstall.

I have in any way tinkered with the options of the browser, or the internet connection before the problem.

    Grateful for the advice.

    Best

    Phil

As far as I KNOW, the only way to really disable the Windows Firewall is by installing another firewall program.
