There are 8 PFI lines, but can only be used on the device at the same time (it might as well be one PFI).  You must have all the channels you want to raise in a task and use one as the trigger for starting digital PFI lines. • Multitask acquisition using NI USB 4432

    Hello

Is it possible to perform tasks DAQ of tension HAVE (1) and (2) accelerometer at the same time using NI USB 4432?

I am trying to program a LabVIEW GUI to read analog voltage and acceleration at the same time with the device. As the nature of the tasks is different, I put two 'DAQmx create Channel.vi' in the same pattern, with specifying one as 'I-voltage-Basic' and the other as "I-acceleration-accelerometer. When I run the VI, error - 50103 appears to help run the VI.

    Thank you.

    SH

The USB-4432 has five input channels that share the same timing engine which means that they will share the same timing and synchronization. The five input channels are all part of the same atomic analog input on the 4432 subsystem. Even if the types of measure are different, you can add them to the same task. If you want to treat tension and acceleration differently (for each type of measure), index the strings in the array of channels acquired after your Read DAQmx.

  • Interfacing with several unknown USB devices; all producing NMEA strings

    Hi all

Question about the peripheral USB interface and their associated drivers.

I have the obligation to build an application that interacts with the USB devices that produce NMEA strings. I have the library to parse NMEA strings, but I fight with interfacing with several unknown USB devices. When deploying applications, I know not all possible USB devices to use.

Is it possible to produce one driver who will accept any USB device strings?

Or, more likely, is there a way to get the LV to recognize a connected USB device and automatically find / install the driver like windows does and is it possible to do in a deployed application?

I had a trawl of the forums, but I've not found anything that specific.

Thanks, I really appreciate the help.

About the VI "set up the serial port", my problem is that the choice of COM port is in a separate menu (not directly related to the VI) and it allows all possible COM ports to be selected. That can be addressed.

I am not expecting an all-in-one solution but asked the question in case it was possible.

What I realized, is that for my specific condition to read strings from a USB device. It is likely to be sent over a serial connection. LV can handle this well and easily assuming the device has the installed driver / settings are available.

LV (and indeed any other program) will not work without a device driver / settings. In this case, parameters set must be found (error) / a USB RAW driver would need to be developed. Devices requirng a RAW USB driver would need a serious review to continue due to the time and effort required. All this effort is work inherited from the AIDS to navigation

I appreciate any help and I think I got the answer I was looking for! Thank you very much

  • I have a problem with finding a PnP USB audio device when you search for available audio devices.

    Hello.

I am building an application that can find a PnP USB audio device and play a tone if the device is connected. I am able to search audio devices using "Sound Device Info.vi" of the lvsound2.llb that comes with labview.

The vi can find the USB device in good conditions, but there are problems - I'll try to describe 2 scenarios.

    1. the USB device is connected before 'Sound Device Info.vi' is called for the first time.

In this case, the program can find the USB device. If I unplug it, the device disappears from the list of found audio devices. If I reconnect to the same USB port, it reappears in the list. It's all good.

If I reconnect it however a new USB port, the device is not found. This is not good.

    2. the USB devices is not connected when 'Sound Device Info.vi' is called for the first time.

"Sound Device Info.vi" is not able to find the device. Disconnect and reconnect does not make a difference.

    I'm under labview 2012 on windows 7.

I am running the application as an exe to build.

I call 'Sound Device Info.vi' as a 'call for reference"and the reference is closed between calls to the vi. I was hoping this would unload the dll used in "Sound Device Info.vi" and would solve the problem, but it didn't.

Is there a way to reset the information usb labview during execution?

    Concerning

    Stephan.

    Hey Stephan.

The sounds screws require a DLL located in:

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \National Instruments\LabVIEW 2012\resource\lvsound2.dll

Internally, LabVIEW uses the DirectX API to enumerate devices. The one caveat is that probe us for devices when loading the DLL. We probe not later. So that it works for Bluetooth, USB, fire wire, etc. devices that can be inserted or removed at any time, you control somehow when this DLL charge and discharge. To do this, please see the following document:

  • Impossible to disconnect itself from USB storage devices

  • When a pop-up message indicates that a storage device has just been attached and I don't put a USB storage device into the computer at all, what that means?

From time to time, (isn't that every now and then, not every day or every week) a message appears on the computer screen to notify that "a storage device has been attached... and something or other on a port '-as it would if a new hardware device had just been installed or removed... only, I have not attached at a storage device.

In fact, apart from the scanner, printer and keyboard connected, which are already inserted until the computer is turned on, no USB storage device or any other thing seized or inserted into the computer when this message is displayed on the lower right screen where the icons on the desktop are,

Why would this happen unless I had personally inserted/joint a USB stick storage device myself in my computer?

I'm afraid that maybe someone to access details and store information from a remote location via a storage device? Is this possible?

And if it's an error of some sort, how to fix this problem?

    Please notify. Thank you.

This probably means you have a bad USB connection somewhere.  I got this a lot when I used markets good USB hubs.  It also happened a lot on a couple of the USB plugs on my old laptop 4 year, where I had plugged in and out things in them so that the connectors are not as strong as they were when new.  My main office more connected devices above that outputs 4 USB, that I had on the back, so I finally bought a card extension to add 4 more exits USB.  If this is your case, perhaps you could do the same.  Expansion cards are not very expensive, usually in the range of $ 15 to $ 25, and they are fairly simple to install.

I hope this helps.  Good luck.

  • Vista: The device can not start (error Code 10) for a USB CDC device which works fine in XP

I have a USB device 2.0 DCC which works very well under all of our Windows XP machines, but not based on Vista.  The device uses the usbser.sys driver and emulation of the virtual Comm Port.

The text of the listing shows the same information on Xp and Vista, except under vista it shows no open pipes.  Shows Device Manager: device can not start (error Code 10).

Using Vista I can't connect to the vista of CDC through concentrators or device to any other device wireless hub except for a Dlink Wireless hub, which has a layer of software between the CDC device and the PC.  With Xp, it all works very well on more than one PC, with Vista, there are questions.  I use the INF manufacturer provided for Vista, still no results.

Any ideas on this would be greatly appreciated.

  • Disable "HP Smart Intall" for USB storage devices

    Details

    OS: Windows 7 x 64

    Laptop: HP Probook s 4540

    Printer: HP P1600

After using an HP printer to my work and have installed the drivers "HP Smart Install" has been installed in a form any driver (?) USB.

The option to double click default to any storage device that is inserted into a USB port is now 'HP Smart Install ". I can't remove this function.

I deleted all the drivers for the USB via Device Manager - this has not fixed the problem.

I reformatted the USB (was not empty in the first place - no autoplay files)-no solution.

I returned all the default media - no fix AutoPlay options.

I used SIUtility.exe HP printer drivers and used PC > disable HP Smart Install - no solution.

I completely uninstalled all the computer - no fix HP printer drivers.

This is a screenshot of the feature that I start to remove - http://i.imgur.com/v1IcdZ0.png

Can you please advise how do I completely remove this feature as default double click for a storage device is to "explore".

    AngusMacsalvation,

Sorry that it was not an option to turn off the Smart Install from the integrated Web server.

    I was check this.

Make sure that you run the CD files or program uninstall.

In this way, it must delete all the registry files.

Make sure that the USB cable from the printer is disconnected.

Here are the steps to run the uninstall of the computer or the CD.

    To uninstall program files:
Go to start and select a computer.
    Select the C drive.
Select the program files or program files x 86.
Open the HP name and printer folder.
    Select uninstall.

    Uninstall from the CD:
Go start, computer, right click on the CD for the printer, left click Open in a new window, double click on uninstall.

Remove drivers in server properties, if they are still worn.

Go to start, devices and printers.
    Highlight any printer.
Click the print server properties in the upper part.

Click the tab drivers at the top of the print server properties window.

Choose the printer that you want to uninstall, and then click on remove.

The next screen will give a warning, letting you know that the removal of the driver package will remove it from the system. Click Yes to say that you are sure you want to do.

Then in the window devices and printers, right click on your printer and remove the device if the printer is still listed.

If the printer doesn't figure yet in the Device Manager or in the registry, we would delete there also.

    Keep me posted.

  • Audio playback USB and device names record - the enumeration of devices, device INF file or required device driver?

My gadget usb audio has two "playback devices" and a "recording device".

It works with the usbaudio.sys driver, but I want to give each channel separate namespaces.

I found a way in windows 7 to rename the audio device using UI actions (right click, properties, etc.), but I want to do it via usb enumeration, instead of requiring the user to do.

USB enumeration has a "output terminal device", which has different categories of devices, but these don't map with different names.

    1. is there a a way to change the name of an audio playback and the recording device using the usb enumeration data?

    2. can I do this automatically on a usb hotplug?

    3. an INF file help?

    4. or I have to write my own driver to rename playback and recording devices?

  • Windows 7 USB/MIDI Device Complications

Hello, I have a question about how Windows 7 handles the USB/MIDI input.

Recently, I had just bought a new Controller of Keytar USB/MIDI Alesis Vortex and decided to plug it into my computer to run the Software Patch and Virtual Software Instruments that I got with it. But when I opened the Firmware Upgrade for the Vortex and the Patch Editor, he told me that there is no MIDI device connected to the computer. I didn't know what was wrong, because I plugged my USB cable to my Vortex and I changed the USB ports on my computer every time. The Alesis QuickStart Guide said that the device and software are compatible with Windows XP through 8, and the USB/MIDI device should be recognized instantly. Obviously, however, Windows 7 is unable to identify it regardless of the fact that he acknowledges his existence and saves it as a. USB device But no matter how many times I try to change or update the drivers, I can't find any that works.

I would love to see Microsoft troubleshooting guide for this, but hey, they have not. I mean it isn't like this is a periodical problem.

Naturally, as the teenager induced by the hormone that I am, I am quite annoyed I spent $299 on a Keytar, I bought to replace my 3 other synthesizers with "Windows 7 compatibility" which could not be recognized, who has now the exact same problem as before, making it unusable.

Now, I didn't rant and rave and go on a tangent, but this has been an ongoing problem for me several times, as happened with many other people, too. Which brings me to my question:

Is there a way that Windows can release an update to fix this, or is there a driver that can fix it for not only me, but for other schools?

    Hello Colin,

I apologize for the late response.
