On Microsoft XP Stop error

I get a blue error screen pretty frequently. I took down the details of the error several times and it seems to differ slightly each time.

I used this website http://aumha.org/a/stop.htm and used step 1 in the general troubleshooting of STOP Messages.
The event viewer displays an error of the system with details as follows:
Details
Product: Windows operating system
ID: 1003
Source: System error
Version: 5.2
Symbolic name: ER_KRNLCRASH_LOG
Message: Error code %1, %2 parameter %3, parameter3 %4, parameter4 %5 2 1.
Can you help me what is causing the error?
Thank you
Shane Corcoran.

Go to your bios to change the mode of training of your s - ata AHCI or IDE Compatible mode or all that apply :) Windows XP is not like SATA, because it has no native support for it. At the start of the second phase of a Setup program, it would fail with this BSOD.

  • "Stop error" suspected to cause driver corrupted for user installed DVD burner.

I get a "BSOD" (blue screen of death) everytime I go out with my Philips DVD burner. Under XP Home on a Dell Dimension 2400. Installed this writer a couple of years ago and have used it without any problems, however started getting this error about 6 months ago. MS produced a report when I rebooted after the last incident - "you received this message because a device installed on your Windows computer driver stop unexpectedly." This type of error is referred to as a "stop error" that requires you to restart your computer. "I followed all the steps described in this report to address the cause of the erroor. However, one of the steps refers to "Uninstalling the driver", but it is a step of manned by menu windows which seems to me that it's not really uninstall the driver - it's just a procedure they wrote such fact, it (start - control panel - display categories - Perf. & Maint - system - hardware - device Mgr - disabling/uninstalling). After you follow these steps, you get a message from re - install the device by clicking on a box. In my view, the same driver is used. It is corrupt nothing has changed and I will continue to get this error. I would like to know where the real driver is located so I can delete it and then go online to download a new driver. However, because my o/s came pre-installed by Dell, MS isn't going to help (unless I pay for the help) and Dell won't help because they didn't install the unit and the Philips site is useless in trying to get technical information as to where their driver is on my hard drive. I checked Event Viewer - System Log and found 'Source = system error category' and the real codes of 4 parameters (addresses memory I think) [that MS would only be able to interpret] for this date and time. I might have to go the route of 'pay' people with MS, but before doing that I would try to fix it myself. Dell site will not download the driver that already exists on my HD and is the latest version. Tools Dell system does not include this unit in its analysis of material either. So - I hope that someone will be quite kind to give me any suggestions where to find this particular driver - I can't find anything that looks like a pilot in the Philips records. Thanks for any help offered too!

  • Blue screen of death: stop error: 0X000000CE

Hi, I think I got a bad virus on my computer that's all waste.  First of all, it all started when I clicked on a link, while the Christmas on Black Friday shopping. Then I got a download of unwanted software, called system difficulty, (the small icon of Windows) I could not use system restore to remove, whenever I tried to use it, it says cannot restore on this point. Tried several other points, but no joy. Can I get the dreaded blue screen of death with a stop error: 0x0000008e (0xc0000005, 0x804f8e80, 0xef76aa98, 0x00000000). Could sail in safe mode and tried to fix it with antivirus software, found 26, abducted, ran spybot search and destroy, found nothing. Still no joy. So today, I tried to start in safe mode, and it does not work in safe mode, guard reboot again and again. Then I hit F8 and turned restart turned off so I could see the Blue error screen that would flash for just a second, and now I have this stop error message: 0x000000ce (0xf88be6dc, 0 x 00000000, 0 x 00000000, 0xf88be6dc). I read forums on video and all drivers, but this happened just after I clicked on this link and got the virus with this unwanted software download. Anyone got any suggestions on how to solve this problem? Oh and I downloaded a program called error repair of my other computer and installed but it only scan my computer to find errors and then he wants to buy you the pack premium, so that did not help. It's my computer business running windows xp pro service pack 3. Wish it would have been on this cause she has the system recovery and it worked whenever I had a virus, I couldn't get rid of that. Thank you, Steve

JoseIbarra is the expert resident on the Recovery Console and chkdsk/r. I'll track down his instructions. If the malware is responsible for the BSOD, I do not think that chkdsk /r will help, but it won't hurt. Or you might need to repair your boot.ini file.

DEFINITELY get this brand XP reinstallation CD Dell! You can use it to perform a clean installation of XP or a repair installation of XP (chances are, you won't ever need to perform a repair installation, but it is nice to have this option) or to enter the Recovery Console to perform functions such as chkdsk/r.
Chances are that your data does not fit on one CD! Depending on what you have, you might need to up to 100 CDs or more! Better to buy an external hard drive. Newegg.com has a very good selection of the most affordable. Here is an example:
Creating a Ubuntu CD bootable 'live' (and then startup out of it, rather than on your hard drive) will allow you to copy your data to the external hard drive:
There are also some other CD bootable antivirus (like Avira) which may help you:
Here is a link to the instructions of Jose:

    Hello

Step 1: Check if you are able to boot in safe mode. If you are able to boot into safe mode, and then try to perform the clean boot to safe mode and check.

From your computer by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs so that you can determine if a background program is interfering with your game or program. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot".

    Reference:

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    1. click on start and then click Run.
    2. type msconfig and click OK.

The System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.

    3. click on the tab general, click Normal Startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.
    4. When prompted, click on restart to restart the computer.

Step 2: Run the check disk hard disk command. (You will be able to try this step if you are able to start in safe mode or in normal mode with success)

In addition, in each of the accidents the process that crashed was the avp.exe.

AVP.exe is a process of Kasperksy.

You seem to have an older version of installed Kasperksy then try uninstall Kasperksy and see if the errors to solve.

Subsequently, you can reinstall using the latest version of Kaspersky or consider the alternative security such as Microsoft Security Essentials software.

  • STOP errors and gel on WinXP Home on Pavilion laptop

    Hello

I'm having a problem with a laptop HP Pavilion ZT3000. I started to have errors of random stop (STOP 0 a, 4th STOP, STOP C1) or the computer just freeze.

I did a check through the memory with Microsoft memory diagnostic, as well as MemTest86 +.  No errors not found after vigorous testing.

I also checked the hard drive for errors. After a test is important, some not found errors.

I can't measure the temperature of the CPU with a software like many downloadable programs do not read the temperature of the CPU of this HP Pavilion chipset platform.

I have completely deleted the computer and installation of Windows XP from scratch. Subsequently STOP re error - manifest.

I even tried to install Windows 7 on this system, but which did not succeed because there aren't has no drivers for many functions on Board (WiFi, sound, etc.).

What else can I do to try to resurrect the Windows XP operating system for this laptop? I wouldn't like it undesirable because of these stop errors. In safe mode, the computer plant to the same extent, but safe mode isn't as usable as Normal XP mode.

    Thank you

Please provide additional information on your system and we'll see what your BSOD have to say for themselves.

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, MSE, Comodo, etc..
The afflicted system has a CD/DVD drive work?
You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

Click on OK and when the system info summary appears, click on Edition, select all, copy, and then paste the information here.
For information about video drivers, expand components, click view, click on edit, select all, copy and then paste the information here.
There will be some personal information (such as the user name and the name of the system), and anything that turns information private for you, simply delete the pasted information.
This will minimize back Q & A and eliminate guesswork.
    Download BlueScreenView here:
Unzip it and run it (BSV installs nothing) and let him complete the digitization of all your crash dump files.
If you double-click on depressed, you will get information on it (including the field caused by the driver) and you should be able to spot the problem right away - especially if you see a model in landfills where Caused by field pilot is the same (beginning with this driver).
Select (highlight) one or more of the most recent dump files by clicking on them and hold down the CTRL key to select multiple files.  Try to select only the most recent links that relate to your problem (perhaps five or six to start dump files).
