On my laptop Win7 +-icons disappeared. Would be to enlarge or reduce web pages. How to make a comeback? I have the latest version of Firefox.
As well my Win XP desktop and laptop Win7, I have + and - icons. That one click would shrink or enlarge web pages. The icon on the laptop (HP) has disappeared. I can't 'customize' or find a way to get back them. I know that I can use ctr + /, but it's bulky. I appreciated the service I had once. I did everything to try to understand this point, cannot and am appealing to you. Thank you.
You can use an extension to set a page zoom and the size of the default font on the web pages.
- Default FullZoom Level: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/default-fullzoom-level/
- NoSquint: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/nosquint/
You can find toolbar zoom buttons in the window customize.
Make sure the toolbars like the toolbar 'Navigation' and the 'personal bar' are visible: "view > toolbars".
- Open the window to customize the toolbars to display the value
- View > toolbars > customize
- Firefox > Options > toolbars
- If the missing elements are in the toolbar palette then drag them from the window, customize the toolbar
- If you do not see an item on a toolbar in the toolbar palette and then click the button "Restore default" to restore the default toolbar set up

How will I know if I have the correct version of Firefox on my laptop Windows 8?
I usually just click on the button "Update Firefox", but now, I wonder if the "beta" version is what I use.
OK, to uninstall Firefox:
- Press Windows + C key at the same time to open the bar of charms.
- Search for programs and features.
- Click on the first result, programs and features.
- In programs and features, find Mozilla Firefox, right click and select uninstall.
- Go through the uninstall program. (Be sure to not check the option Remove profile information in the uninstall program if you want to keep your Firefox settings!)
Install the normal version of Firefox:
- Download the installation program.
- Run the downloaded file.
- Follow the installation instructions to install the normal version of Firefox.

Everything worked well earlier today. I restarted my computer and open Firefox. The Firefox button is gone. I have not installed new software. I thought that maybe it had been corrupted somehow, so I deleted and downloaded again. The Firefox button is still missing. That's happened? How can I recover it?
You will see the Firefox button when the menu bar is hidden.

What is the latest version of Firefox for my laptop from August 2011?
I'm running Windows 8 (xp) and you plan to switch to Firefox. I would like to know what is the latest version of Firefox for my laptop?
Do you mean IE8? Windows 8 was not released.
You can use the latest version, Firefox 5.0.1. Look at the system requirements carefully to be sure that only what is necessary, especially the Pentium 4 processor and enough RAM since many XP systems came with only 256 MB. Right-click on the 'My Computer' icon on your desktop and select properties for the basic information about your system in the 'General tab '.
- System requirements: https://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/5.0/system-requirements/index.html
- Install Firefox: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Installing+Firefox
- Download from (select the language and OS): http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html

I'm using mac os x version 10.7.4 and I try to update Firefox 3.5.5 version to the latest version. The Firefox icon in my doc still persists and leads me to the old version of Firefox. If it's supposed to happen?
Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.
- Download the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org office and save the installer to your computer.
- Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (click on quit in the file menu or Firefox).
- Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
- Windows:
- C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
- C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
- Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
- Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
- Windows:
- Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
- Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
- Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.
Please report back to see if this helped you!

Why is the bookmark icon is no longer on the latest version of firefox
When I enter the option to customize the bookmarks bar you have more an icon to view your Favorites on the left side of the screen. How can I get and place this icon?
The two buttons on the sidebar went into Firefox 29 - bookmarks and history, but they are "restored" in Firefox 30 with a button "combo".
For the time being, you can use {Ctrl + B} to open the bookmarks bar.

Recently updated to version 9.0.1 version of Firefox. Restarted. All my bookmark icons were not visible. They are available if I go to my Menu bookmarks - view all bookmarks. They are just not visible in the tab bookmarks at the top of Firefox (where it is the most useful).
you need to change image.mem.decodeondraw
type in the address bar Subject: config
then press the button I'll be careful, I promise you
then type in the image.mem.decodeondraw toolbar
then double click on above, to make false
exit Firefox and restart.
Thank you

on a computer last year I updated firefox and he gave me an icon on my lower left side of the taskbar to access the personas. It was a cute little Fox. This computer that I use now not never showed an icon anywhere, or shortcuts, access to personas. I click firefox to watch. Why? I like to use.
This has happened
Don't know how many times
is always
There is no element of Personas menu in tools, unless you have the Personas Plus extension. In Firefox 3.6, Personas installed is selected using tools > Addons > > themes.

I tried to update Firefox on my desktop since version 33.0 I continue to download and upgrade or install day, but nothing changes. Gmail still says the browser is not supported, and Mozilla says I use an older version and need to update. I downloaded from different places - the links provided when he said outdated sound and go directly to Mozilla.org for download. In fact, I uninstalled Firefox and tried to install instead of upgrade. It does not help. My computer says I have the latest version, but the internet plays an older version. Also my "firefox" button and another add on buttons are missing from the navigation bar, so I can't check 'about' to see what version of the browser itself says that it is running. How can I fix it? I use Firefox for years and this is the first problem I had that I can't fix.
And... your check of software I actually running version 11. Clearly, it is not up-to-date.
Your useragent is corrupt, or that you use Firefox 11.0 appears.

When I did research on the way and that this function would I found no data lost three of my most used APPS? When I did the reset I don't have access to a computer and there is no way to verify even how to recover them without internet capabilities! How do I find/download again?

Reset does not delete the preinstalled applications. There is no way to remove it.

I use 8.0.1 Firefox and OS 10.6.8 in my Mac Pro. I use the function to import from Firefox for years. I tried reinstalling Firefox (& first dumping Firefox and its Application Support file). I'm also using Ghostery and Norton.
Thanks, but it apparently it only works with the PC.
I figure out what to do, however:
(1) choose "show all bookmarks".
(2) click on the strange, right-most, icon star on the top left of the Library window.
(3) select "import data from another browser. Thanks again.

I've upgraded to firefox 8.0.1 and now my favorites have only the icons and no text. By clicking on "icons and text" in PREFERENCES, affects only the Google toolbar and not Firefox bookmarks.
How to restore the icons and text to my "bookmarks toolbar"?Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).
- Makes no changes on the start safe mode window.

My toolbar is all messed up. I don't have an arrow "return a page" or a "home" icon I tried to add as Add on, but nothing changes. I uninstalled Mozilla Firefox but it's always the same! Help please. I hate having to go to my story to go back one page. Thank you for your support!
Right-click on the toolbar and select "Customize" and then select "Restore default set", see if that fixes it.
