    Hello everyone,
I wonder if anyone can switch me to it...
Since I reinstalled the operating system (my XP pro SP2) PC seems not detecting don't nor the wireless adapter in the device under network adapter Manager.
Also the light of the flexibility wireless no longer not.
I also have problems to access the BIOS to check if the card is detected there, have not a Toshiba HW setup in Control Panel as described in the manual.
    Any suggestions?

    Hello Juliana

The question is how did you install the operating system? If you use the restore CD to install all tools including Toshiba HW setup. If the unit is pre-installed with the Microsoft Windows XP Home edition CD, you must install all the stuff of Toshiba late.

Just a little explanation about the wireless network card. Basically, if the wireless switch indicator turns not on s clearly indicate on hardware problem. I guess that the wireless card is faulty. Also check if the card is listed in the Device Manager.

If you want to enter the BIOS settings pres ESC key at the boot routine and keep it down for a few seconds.

  • How to install wireless on a Satellite 5200 903?

Due to a very bad virus, I got Windows on a Satellite 5200 903 a friendly businessman. But at home he saw: no wireless LAN could be used... It seems, that cause the WLAN switch is 'off' no WLAN-driver was installed/recovered...

Now, he wants to come to me tomorrow or day after tomorrow - and I need TO know how to install everything until there... He'll also bring me his router, so I can configure everything for him on the LAPTOP AND router (WPA, if possible).

But I found TWO drivers: one was a direct download of a small 'Agere' file - wlesslan-xp - 7620390.zip

The other comes from "Atheros", and the download are a links to another website "Toshiba EMEA - Wireless LAN Driver Portal" http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/?page=downloads, where I have to identify the WLAN adapter... But: on the first download site (I mean before you redirect to 'Toshiba EMEA') it is on the list of "Models" NOT any Satellite 5200.

The pilot who is correct? Are there different WLAN adapters in the 5200-903 series? Is it possible to find the adapter model BEFORE it gives me the laptop?

In the list of the drvers for the 5200-903, there's a "hotkey WLAN" Download wlkey-xp - 2003.zip? Who should I too? Do I need other things?

And such a 'old' WLAN-access works in a different way the WLAN integrated a centrino for example? I don't know how to connect to a WLAN with new laptops: "wireless networks" button on the right button fot windows, then choose the name WLAN to connect and enter the key, if necessary.

Please help me, he lives 100 miles away from me and has not much time, it is once again for me just for this issue and, of course, he was not amused when he went home and cannot connect to internet... and it is a noob ABSOLUTE in technical things so I can how make him on his own and needs your help quickly.

    Thank you very much!

    Hello herbal

I want just to make the story short and simple. After installing the OS install drivers for the hardware components. According to the specification of your laptop for Satellite 5200 903 what WLAN ready model and I don't know what WLAN card is inside. Your friend must have information about this.

If there is card Atheros WLAN driver you can find HERE

After installation of the driver install all Toshiba designed tools and utilities from COMMON MODULES. It must be installed first. WLAN-hotkey utility is important because using the FN + F8 key combination you can enable/disable wireless network card.

Software WLAN (WLAN Atheros client utility) is not necessary, because to the WLAN, you can use WLAN WXP parameters. You can use it if the wireless network adapter is enabled correctly.

So I hope you set WLAN correctly and if you need further assistance please write back.

    Bye and good luck!

  • Satellite Z830 - drop out Wireless adapter / conflict with USB

My Z830 Satellite has a weird problem. Wireless connectivity works well until I have plug in a usb key into the usb port 3 on the side. The wireless, then falls after a period and then it does not find the available wireless connections. It effectively kills the wireless adapter, or at least makes it less reliable.

You must restart to recover the connection. I tried with several different usb storage devices with the same result. Both wireless and usb drive work fine, but not at the same time. This occurs regardless if the use of the battery or when it is plugged. I checked the power settings to ensure there wasn't a problem there. Everything is right on install/factory in general settings, so I can't imagine that's all what I changed.

I'm at work, but I'll see if I have the same problem with the usb at the back, or a disk takes hard usb powered, when I get home. It's really annoying, because you cannot use the net and let in a usb disk without risking a fall on the. I haven't checked messing around with settings of USB root hub or from IRC, as it seems unlikely. Any thoughts or is a matter of "give it back to Toshiba" - I'd rather not have the downtime. It took me a while to work on this has been the problem.

The wireless connection is very strong when the ultrabook is used, so is not a question of signal strength.

    Hello

To be honest, I've ever read on similar issues.
Did you check if the problem occurs with other ports USB or does it use a special port of Z830 Satellite?

In your case I recommend also using HARD drive recovery option and to set the system back to factory settings to make sure that there is no software related issue.

  • Wireless adapter has disappeared on my Satellite C660-22V

Hi, I am very well to this new and have knowledge on this SUBJECT.

The situation is, my computer had a problem turning on and the opportunity to restore to a previous point in time, that I continued with. After the completion of this and that the computer opens completely, the wireless adapter is no longer meet!

I tried to look in the network and sharing Center, there is no option for a wireless adapter, only one ethernet adapter unplugged.

I also looked in the Device Manager and I cannot find any mention of the wireless adapter, I expected to be there with a yellow icon, that means a driver problem, but it is not there at all!

The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite C660-22V

    Thank you!
    Tom

    > I also looked in the Device Manager and I cannot find any mention of the wireless adapter, I expected to be there with a yellow icon, that means a driver problem, but it is not there at all!

What devices appear in Device Manager under the category network cards?
    Is any unknown device visible?

To my knowledge, this Satellite C660-22V has been fitted with a 802.11(b/g/n) of Realtek RTL8188CE WLan card.

For installation of the driver Realtek RTL8188CE WLan should help to make it work (of course, just in case a missing driver would be the problem)

By the way: what system are you using?

  • Satellite A660 - Broadcom internal wireless adapter does not work

    Hi all

My first post to this forum - I have a new laptop of Toshiba Satellite A660 - only had for about 4 weeks and it turns out be a disaster for me...

Firstly - I spend weeks getting everything on and configured as I want - then the hard drive begins to die...

I just returned it service center Toshiba and NOW wifi has stopped working...
Internal broadcom wireless adapter doesn't work - but according to windows and built-in Diagnostics it works...

HOWEVER - when I try to use wireless with the built-in adapter may not detect all wireless networks...

I then plug in my adapter netgear usb wireless backup and I can pick up and connect both of my wireless home networks...
I am moving abroad in a few weeks and need to know that my laptop will work/be reliable and not have any problems-if anyone can help me with this, it would be much appreciated.

  • Satellite L500 - wireless network adapter disappeared

    Satellite L500 model PSLS0A-084002.

Wireless network adapter is not listed under network adapters in the devices menu. FN does not display the wireless tab. There is no off / switch for the wireless on this laptop model. In the BIOS, the wireless LAN is selected ON.

Switch OFF wireless and then re-start and then plug the wireless, and then re-bots don't find out the wireless adapter.

Other messages suggest the update of the BIOS. Running version 1.9. ersion 2.1 is available. When I try to run the update: code error-144. BIOS is not flashable.

    Clues please?

    Thank you very much.

    Hi Colin9999,

Before you start with the update of the BIOS, you should try to install the latest driver WLAN you can get on the official website of Toshiba. It seems that you have an Australian model laptop to check the Australian page here:
    www.MyToshiba.com.au > Support > downloads

After installing the latest driver WLAN check the status again.

BIOS update error could be related to missing value added package. Have you installed this tool from Toshiba?
Run the update as an administrator?

  • Re: Wireless adapter change/upgrade on Satellite L850 - 1 H 4

    Hello

I have the laptop mentioned above, but I don't like the wireless adapter, because of this, I can't use my router on 802.11 a/c, most of the other devices to recognize the network. If I want to ask if its possible to change the adapter with one that takes care of a/c. I tried with usb but they are great, and I don't like them, + is not the same thing, unless you are buying very expensive.

    Thanks in advance!

Generally speaking its possible to remove and replace the internal miniPCI module.
This shouldn't be a big problem even if the warranty is not valid after this replacement.

However, I don't very well if the BIOS recognize new module correctly m.
Sometimes new pieces of hardware are not supported by s notebook WHAT BIOS and this can cause some side effects like no system crashes or start

But like I said above; It of possible remove the module but laptop manufacturer doesn't provide any support for these upgrades.

  • Satellite A660 - need driver wireless adapter

I recently did a clean install, and while I have most of the drivers, I can't seem to be able to properly install the wireless network card drivers. Whenever I try to install the WLan Intel driver from the Toshiba page, it installs something or rather adapter Realtek family which is fine if I connect the laptop to an Ethernet cable, but what I need is a wireless adapter.

I downloaded and tried to install a wide range of drivers for the specific model for x 64 Windows 7 downloads page, but no, there is no wireless card.

It is a model of PSAW3A-07S00R, running on 64-bit Windows 7.

    Thank you.

  • Satellite Pro L40 - wireless adapter does not work - Vista

I recently had some problems with my laptop.
A couple of weeks, I put in a disc of OpenSuse.
It's not stable anything, but locked me out of my original Vista operating system.

I reinstallled Vista Home Basic, but there are a few problems.
Mainly, my wireless adapter does not work.

When I flip the button to turn it on nothing happens and it is not recognized in Windows.
I installed Atheros Driver, but still nothing happens, light is not yet.

    Any advice?

    Hello

First check the device-> network adapters area manager
You see the WLan card? Or the unknown device appears?

If there is an unknown device, then the WLan driver has not been installed correctly or you tried to install a driver badly these two options are possible.

Remember that your wireless network card? Maybe it was a Realtek WLan card?

If it's a Realtek WLan card, try the WLan driver from the Realtek website and look for 802.11 g (RTL8187B) chip or you will simply check the page of the European driver Toshiba too the Realtek WLan driver also appeared on the Toshiba page

  • Re: Unable to get the wireless adapter to work on my Satellite L550-1CC

I'm getting bored with this laptop, I reinstalled windows 7 (32 bit) and can not get the wireless adapter to work.

My router settings are perfect, my netbook is zero connection problems - the router is just inches away from the laptop most of the time - the laptop insists that there is "no available networks."

This of course is BS, before I reinstalled windows I could pick up 3 other neighbouring networks as well as mine.

Windows automatically installed the wireless network - I thought that could be the problem, so I downloaded the realtek driver directly.

No difference. Always the small icon with Red Cross barred through it.

I thought it could have been a hot key problem - so I installed the flash card driver that apparently controls the access keys (for some reason any).

Shortcut keys still don't work - I could really care about that - it's just the wireless network I need.

Thanks for any help I receive.

    > my netbook has zero connection problems - the router is just inches away from the laptop most of the time - yet the laptop insists there is "no available networks."
After reading this sentence, I'm a bit confused. If there is no available WLAN networks how your laptop had zero problems to connect?

    One last thing:
    > Of course is BS, before I reinstalled windows I could pick up 3 other neighbouring networks as well as mine.
What is the difference between the old and the new installation of Windows?

In general the WLAN use is fairly simple.
Wireless network card - must be installed correctly (listed in Device Manager
WLAN card - must be enabled using FN + F8 key combination to activate the wireless network card
-scan the available WLAN networks area, click on the button of your WLAN and use connect
-put key WLAN if necessary and after a few seconds WLAN connection will work

I did this many times on laptops preinstalled Win7 and didn't have any problems. On all laptop computers pre-installed with Toshiba recovery image (factory settings) is not necessary to change the WLAN settings.

  • Satellite L300 - wireless not working do not at all

    Hello world

IM new here and my name is Jodie. My husband and I bought new computers laptop a few weeks ago, Satellite L300.

On my husband a wireless just stopped working, the switch is on but no lights appear. I tried FN and F8 says the Wireless does not work. I checked in the device under netwrok Manager cards to see if he said the same thing as mine and the wireless adapter is missing? It's the Atheros AR5007EG wireless Netwrok adapter.

Can anyone help? Cannot believe what has happened and they are only 2 weeks :(

    Thank you guys
    Jodie

    Hi Jodie!

Have you tried to update the driver for wireless network? On the Toshiba WLAN portal, you can find the most recent version that should work on your laptop:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

I'm not sure, but you should look in the BIOS. Perhaps there is an option if wireless LAN where you can enable or disable WLAN.
    Check it!

In addition, I recommend also updated the BIOS, and if nothing can help launch you the Toshiba recovery disc. You will receive the factory settings where everything should work fine.

    Good bye

    Hello Narendra

Unfortunately there is no precise information on this subject, but there is no reason why it should not work properly. I read a lot of comments on various forums that this card sometimes cut the wireless connection.

I have very good experience with Toshiba or Atheros wireless cards and I can recommend you to use one of them.

    Good luck!

I need a patch for DVD to use in a Satellite 5200.

My original DVD is broken, so I bought a Toshiba SD-C2512 DVD but it does not work inside the Satellite, but with adapter to my desktop PC.
I patch the DVD in master.

Where can I get the file and the prog for patch?

    Hello

I think that these patches do you mean are not available and as far as I know if you can spend a notebook of the master to the slave, for example there is a jumper on the drive.

However, to me it sounds like this drive is not compatible with this laptop. Not every disc is compatible with all laptop (g. pins assignment.) e  ;)

You must buy a new one and check the user's manual. There you should find a list of compatible drives.
