someone had taken off the icons of the volume and power on the notification in my bar area task and now when I go into the properties to try to put them back on the boxes and titles are grayed out and I can't select them. What's past and how to make their return on.

I'm guessing that you're referring to a problem involving the Security Center that happens sometimes after update silent through updates of Windows to the new version of MSE... but it is also sometimes occurring after the updates of Windows 'monthly '.  Usually, but not always the problem occurs on computers running XP.

If the MSE icon is green then you should be protected and cannot ignore this Security Center warning. The problem resolves after a few days.   I do not pretend you disable the protection in real time on MSE, disable Security Center, restart the computer and then turn everything back on and restart once more... some users report this sequence fixed the problem.

    BUT

  • How can I add the date of my taskbar notification area?

I have the time but not the date in my notification area of the taskbar, how can I add the date?

Right-click in an empty area of the taskbar, click Properties and then on the tab of the properties task bar, clear the check mark next to "Small icons"  This, of course, also means that the taskbar will be slightly higher, and you won't have the small icons.

  • The taskbar notifications.

'Customize' in the task bar are grayed out or disabled. Impossible to select notifications in the taskbar.

I finally fixed the problem by using information from 'Kelly Korner' and 'COMODO '.

The problem was more aggravating, because I couldn't get the ir correction. I would like to finish all the tasks I undertake, but being a PC novice, was challenging my brain.

Thanks for your help and certainly for your concern. It was much appreciated.

I performed all tasks with the task bar & start, but does not open the box to hide the notifications and customize. They are grey and of course disabled. Therefore, I'm unable to select and add notifications and/or the behavior for each of the notifications.

  • Do not work indicator in the taskbar notification

    Hello

I installed the latest version of Skype (6.16.0.105). And I saw that notification I can see that in indicator of Skype IBC - but the taskbar indicator - without notification.

How can I solve this problem?

    Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply. I found the solution - when I unchecked "run as administrator" everything is ok.

  • Some of the taskbar icons are blank sheets

Some programs such as Internet Explorer, MS Outlook 2007 and iTunes are on the taskbar as blank sheets. I tried to place shortcuts on the desktop and go into properties and change icon. It has worked for other programs but the button change icon in these programs are blackened. Tried to enter the path to the programs without success.

Is there anyway to make the icons for the programs show?

    Thank you!

I have this problem, had to do a hard reset because of the loss of output video/media center crash on restart my Firefox Firstclass & icons are now leaves white, very annoying. Delete iconcache.db fix does not work. I was able to restore the icon to exe files, but the icons pinned Taskbar & Start menu, items do not update.
    My dose is as follows:

    Step 1:
click Start > right click on the program in the start menu > properties > Shortcut tab > change icon > Browse (go to exe for this program) > select exe file > open > choose appropriate options icon. > ok > ok > if you get a message saying that only an administrator can do this, click on continue to apply the change.

Step 2: start a session application & while it is running to right click on the taskbar icon > detach this program > new right click (watch now icon because it represents the application running, not the shortcut) > pin this program

I'm not a fan of the new taskbar of the mac either style, it open & navigate several sessions of programs is tedious, especially when the previews seem to almost identical & if different programs use the same icon he adds to the confusion. Y at - it an option of the 'Classic' taskbar somewhere like the classic view for Control Panel, that they used to offer?
