OneKey Recovery will remove other partitions?

So. My laptop has a problem with the screentouch. Assistants of Lenovo said they can only help me if I have Windows 8 on my laptop. But I updated to Windows 8. 1. now, I need to go back to Windows 8, until they fix my computer. I have the DVD of Windows 8, but before I go down, I'd like to know:

1. I can use OKR to restore a backup of my current system, with all my software and settings?

2. I have partitioned my HD in order to keep the personal stuff (media, data, documents) in D:, rather C:. OKR will erase the contents of other partitions? Can I safely use it or D: may be affected?

Thanks in advance

OK, just did the recovery and discovered that Shiva information are BAD. Only C: Has been affected. D: remain secure. Lenovo support is the worst I've ever met.

    Hello

The recovery disk will format the whole HARD drive and will be also possible to erase all partitions created on the HARD drive!
This means that you will lose your photos and all data stored on the HARD drive.

Therefore, you must back up the data before using the recovery disk!

  • OneKey Recovery will return the Y2P to start state before the first?

    Hi gregfromutah,

Yes OneKey Recovery restores your lapptop to its factory condition, provided that you have not deleted the recovery partition on your hard drive. More information: http://support.lenovo.com/en_AU/diagnose-and-fix/detail.page?DocID=HT077084

And Yes, you can create recovery media on a USB bootable instead of discs.

Type "Recovery" on the splash screen, click a recovery key 2. On the application of a key recovery, select System Backup 3. Follow the instructions on the screen.

The usb key must be at least 16 GB.

  • Recovery will remove both my hard drives?

    The title says it all.

I'm hoping to be able to reinstall vista on my Pavilion dv7-1170eo. Because it's what seems like two disks hard - one to drive D:, and then for C: and E: drive (reprise) - I was wondering if the factory settings recovery would remove all data on the D: drive.

Specifications: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01588744 : say that it's 2 x 250 GB, so I think it should not delete the D: drive, but this whole factory settings thing was a little worried.

    So, please help.

That is a good question. It shouldn't because the operating system is installed on the primary drive, not the hard disk secondary or detached.  I'm not going to just and say that it will not.

If you're really worried, it's a very simple procedure to remove the secondary hard disk, and then insert it after the resumption.

  • HP 15-AB521TX: reinstalling Windows recovery media will remove the created partitions?

I have a HP 15-AB521TX and as usual with all laptops, it comes with C: drive.

I used a third party partition manager to create more than 3 partitions by deleting the space on the C drive, so now I have C, D (recovery), E, F and G,

But somehow now I want to reinstall windows (using the recovery backup media (flash drive)) and I wanted to know if it will remove all the extra partition I created and delivered to a single drive C? Since I have data on other players, I don't want to do.

    Thank you very much.

Unfortunately, the answer is YES - as the first action of the recovery feature is to reformat the entire disk to match the partition arrangement which was put there at the factory.

So, BEFORE you do this, you must migrate off the partitions and the data you want to keep or restore.

    Good luck

  • Hard drive recovery or support removes all other partitions?

If I create an extra partition on my HP Pavilion hard drive and use a drive letter F: to store data and then use the partition recovery or media to restore to factory settings, my data secure or the recovery procedure to format the entire hard drive?  Thank you

Depends on what version of HP Recovery Manager, you have installed. On some newer models, there are different options in Recovery_Ssytem recovery, reduced, Image Recovery Factory Reset. If your recovery manager has no additional options, then Yes, it will remove all of the partitions added. Better to use the external USB hard drive for important files.

It is a description of the different features available in the Recovery Manager. It is available mainly on new laptops, but I've seen some reports of it on desktop computers. My most recent HP desktop computer didn't.

RMAN will remove backups within the recovery window?

If you issue a DELETE, rman cannot stop or prevent you. It will allow you to delete the backups, even the last backup taken 1 minute ago, even when there is no other backup.

The retention window only to rman control * auto * deletion of backups - backups obsolete because they are beyond the retention window.

  • Satellite L670-1john - recovery Will HDD work if I leave the D partition?

    My laptop is L670-1Jn

On my drive C: is installed windows
On my drive D: is installed HARD drive recovery

With windows 7 I want to create a new partion E: on my D: drive
The E: partition will be reserved for my data.
Once create E: partition I want to do a picture disc C: and D:

    Serious problems:
first I used first HARD drive recovery
If that doesn't work I'll bring disk C: and D: images

My question is: HDD recovery works if I create a new partion E: on my D: drive?

    Hello

To be honest, I've never tested it, but I think that you should be able to use HARD drive recovery, even if the partition D has been changed, but that's just my opinion.
So before you change anything on the HARD drive, I recommend you create the recovery disk!
The recovery disc helps you define the laptop (and also HARD drive) back to the factory settings if anything went wrong with the HARD disk or similar

With recovery disk, you are on the safe side you know
I think you can run a series of experiments after the recovery disk was created.

Please share your experience with us, I m very interesting.

Recently, I upgraded my Dell Inspiron to Windows 7 with the upgrade in free option.  However, I was wondering if there was a way to merge the recovery with the primary partition partition so that I can use this space with the main partition.  Any ideas?

I don't think so, the extended Volume space can be merged to the main partition.
