Online recovery process is frozen to the installation of the Flash Card Utility
Following an attack of serious virus a month ago, my computer ended up with at least a corrupted user file. Efforts to correct without great expense may have hurt rather than helped - it is difficult to know what does what.
Until two days ago, I was faced with three distinct start-up, two partial process and a normal (usually first start in the morning). One of the partial featured no connection. The other managed to connect, but not with the document data.
After a normal boot, if for some reason, the computer fell asleep or has been disabled, it has not started normally for the rest of the day, except on rare occasions, seemingly random.
Two days ago Windows began to send messages that Windows 7 has to be reinstalled. Once it does automatically search and correction process. Subsequently, the message became, you may be victim of illegitimate (or Word like this) Windows software.
On a forum this morning, I came across the steps in a process of recovery Toshiba DIY (no cd or usb) and has begun. I have to pay their fees, but the only one I think that options are available to me are 1) do nothing and see if the recovery work always or 2 (repeat the recovery.
Can anyone offer an alternative to $200 at Best Buy?

Ive lost the flash cards used for the drop-down list at the top of the screen. Tried several different things, including updating the drivers from the Web site.
At the moment, some of the function keys work ok, IE works brightness, lock - but the wireless economy and the key is more energy.Have you tried to reinstall the package of added value?

Satellite C660D - flash cards are not displayed on the screen

I bought a Toshiba Satellite C660D a month ago. Everything was fine, until the FN button is no longer displayed the OSD menu.

In any case, I think they can tell you the same thing: you can try to reinstall VAP or flash cards utility of support or reinstall OS using HARD drive recovery facility. With the settings, it works well again.

I wonder if its possible to use the FN keys without toshiba flash cards on the top of the screen and therefore without having to install the value-added package?
Some FN keys like brightness, mute, switch the display and sleep work without VAP
but I also enabled WiFi, touchpad switch, mode switching power, buttons, which do not zoomYet once, I don't want this utility to flash, still running cards and consumption of ram
As far as I know something like this is not possible and if you have FN feature flash card utility must be running in the background.
This along with the consumption of RAM is funny to me because if you turn it off you won't see any difference in the performance of the computer.Maybe you should disable some other background process unnecessary that you don't need.
If you have the new model laptop with Win7 they have enough RAM for all operations and execution of flash cards will not have much influence on the performance of the computer. -

I have a Satellite A500 PSAM3A 04200E. I recently did an upgrade from Vista to Windows 7. I used my system restore disks to reinstall Vista and then upgrade to Windows 7 using the upgrade wizard.
I find that I can no longer use the Fn key to turn on/off features...
I tried to download the VAP and it works. I also tried-> the beginning-Toshiba-> Utilities > restart Flash Cards. None of them have worked even after a reboot...
Can someone give me some advice on what to do next?

If you have already reinstalled Toshiba Value added Package, you also (re) install the Flash Cards Support utility. This tool controls the FN keys and is required for their work.
