Only 3.6 on 4 GB of RAM can be used on X120e

Hi all

I am the proud owner of a new Lenovo X120e. This is my first purchase from Lenovo and so far, I'm very impressed. There is something that bothers me however. I bought the unit with 4 GB of RAM and 64-bit Windows Professional. Windows tells me that only 3.6 of the 4 GB is used.

I wonder if anyone has ever heard of / had this kind of problem before and if there is an easy solution. I did some googling but can't seem to find anything.

As with most graphics solutions, Radeon 6310 graphics uses an amount of system memory, that's why it is not available for Windows. On my x120e, which has 6 GB of RAM installed, only 5.60 GB is usable by windows.

I can't find Toshiba around the House me...!

    Hello

The unit uses DDR2 memory strips and you can use this module:
    512 MB DDR2-400/533 (PA3412U - 1 M 51)

What you can do is google for this module, or you can order from the Toshiba service partner.

  • Tecra A9 - shows only 2.99 RAM can be used on Windows 7 64 bit

Great running except the RAM machines show only 2.99 GB usable on a total of 4 GB installed. I know it must re-mapping of memory, but I can't find any information to enable this or even if this machine can support?

Can it be supported natively, or with an update patch or BIOS/driver, I think that the BIOS is 1.6.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

The amount of RAM is recognized in the BIOS? It shows the full capacity of 4 GB?

Theoretically, updating the BIOS could be worth a try. I put t know which model you have exactly but European models the BIOS update can be downloaded here:

  • Satellite A200 - 1 h - what type of RAM can be used?

    I have a Toshiba Satellite A200 - 1 h that I bought about 2 years ago.

However, I can't find anything on this model on the Toshiba site?
No, even if I get the serial number?

I want to upgrade the memory in there (currently 2 x 512 MB), but I don't know what kind of memory I need.
I can't find this model if I search the site of manufacturers of memory either.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

Hmm. Satellite A200 - 1 HR belongs to the series of PSAE2E.
AFAIK the Equium A200 can be upgraded up to 2 GB of RAM.

In this case, you can use max 1 GB of RAM in one slot.
    Supported modules are; DDR2 667 MHz (PC2-5300) 200 - PIN SODIMM

Google a little of many online dealers provide these modules

  • Satellite L20-100 - what modules of RAM can I use for the upgrade?

    Hi all

I have TOSHIBA Satellite L20-100 and I need to upgrade the ram memory up to 2 GB.
I found these models on the internet but I don't know that it is compatible with my computer laptop or not.

the following module on the eBay store:

    * 1 GB Kingston DDR2 667 Mhz 1 GB DDR laptop 2 NB RAM *.
    * Hynix 1 GB RAM DDR2 5300 s - computer notebook memory 667 MHz *.
    * ASint 1 GB DDR2-667 PC2-5300 PORTABLE 200 pin MEMORY *.

    Already now I have 512 DDR2 667 Mhz

Or any knows from where can I update the correct RAM?

    Hello

Theoretically, you can use all modules store because all the modules to meet specifications, DDR2-RAM, 1 GB, etc. for example.

In your case, I'd take the Kingston RAM. I've never heard ASint RAM, but I have good experiences with RAM Kingston. I always use Kingston RAM to upgrade my notebooks and never had any problems.

Last but not least, you can also buy RAM of an authorized service provider.

Can what brand of RAM I use for Joshua-H61-Μatx?

    Hello

If the new DIMM specifications correspond to the existing DIMM specifications then you shouldn't have a problem.  You can download and use CPU - Z to determine specifications.

HP would be a place to start or the underside of the manufacturers.

I would recommend that you try the tools of these manufacturers: Corsair, Kingston and Crucial. Once you have determined the DIMMs you need, then commercial support contract or technique to verify that you have selected the correct DIMMS.  Buy directly from the manufacturer is generally preferable that they will stand behind their product.

  • 3 1 GB / 8 GB of ram can be used on Windows 7 64 bit

    Hello

I recently bought a new W510 with windows 64-bit, and 8 GB of ram, however, both in the Task Manager and resource monitor, the available RAM is said to be about 3 GB. In the resource monitor, a massive 5 GB is "reserved equipment." The W510 has a discreet graphics card, I doubt that any amount of material would require 5 GB of memory reserved.

Does anyone know how to remedy this?

So, I'm a bit disappointed by the fact that the computer came with 30Gb (!) already used hard drive, and which excludes the 10 GB recovery partition. I wasn't aware that Lenovo tends to install on computers.

Finally, the left click is very sticky and often will be stuck down. The computer is new, and frankly I'm a little disappointed that the mouse does not work properly.

With respect to the link below, this problem is reported to have been fixed by the version of the Bios F.36 of bios (see revision history) - updates are cumulative, so you should be able just to Flash the latest version (F.39).

  • I installed 6 GB of RAM, but only 2 GB can be used

Hi I looked for an answer to my request, but I found the same answer everywhere and it does not

I run Windows 7 64 bit and I have 6 GB of installed RAM (Yes in the system it says that its installed) BUT

He said also only 2 GB of ram is usable out of that 6 GB?

Now, my GPU (Asus geforce gtx 470) says in the manual it has 1 GB of memory dedicated, so that leaves 3 GB missing lol

In my BIOS my PC says I have 2 GB of TOTAL ram? Now, it's an important goal. I have an Asus p7p55d-e pro motherboard. Any help as to how I can check if the ram IS working properly or how to make this usable ram?

    Thank you!

What RAM do you use? Also update the BIOS, please. Remove the gain of RAM and put it back. Maybe it is not properly installed. "A programmer is just a tool that converts the caffeine in code" Deputy CLIP - http://www.winvistaside.de/

  • Satellite L655 - 14 d - lots of RAM will be used

    Hi all what he

I have a Satellite L655 - 14 d with 3 GB of RAM and 1 GB of dedicated video RAM problem in front, it's RAM exhausted even when the computer is left idle without any programs running in the back ground is about 65-70% of the total RAM is it normal to be like this? Help, please

    concerning
    jkjoms

    Hi jkjoms,

It depends on your installed software stuff and the operating system

If you use Windows 7 with a lot of software installed, they always start in the background, is it possible that over 50% of the RAM will be used.
So it's hard to say if it of normal or not without knowing what stuff is installed, but in general this behavior is the only associated software and has nothing to do with the material.

By the way: If you don't need some applications at startup, go to msconfig (start > run > msconfig) and disable all programs that you don't need.

  • Satellite 1900-303-type of RAM can be installed?

    Hi guys,.

I want to know a news on my Satellite 1900-303.
What type of RAM can be installed?
I have a 266 mHz, but it is quite impossible to find now on the market at a good price.
so can I get a 333 mHz RAM, or my laptop it does not recognize in a good way?
Will it work? And how do I set the bus on the BIOS? (If I may...)

    Thank you
    Davide

    Hello

Satellite 1900-303 can be upgraded up to 1 GB of RAM.
This means that you can use 2 x 512 MB RAM max modules.
    The compatible RAM modules are:
    200-pin PC2100 (266 MHz) DDR SODIMM

I think you could use 333 Mhz too, but if the FSB is set to 266 Mhz and 333 mHz will run only at 266 Mhz.
