Only get a black screen on startup of Windows

I have the most recent 5K 27 "iMac with a Radeon R9 M380.

I want to install Windows 10 with an ISO and the process seemed all fine, even managed to get to the point connect you with my Microsoft account.

But then after that I got a black screen.  Off and then restarted back in the Windows partition.  I get the small circle of loading Windows but then after that another black screen.

I was wondering anyone knows it?

You can start Windows safe mode? You have probably installed a wrong driver GPU.

  • Black screen on startup after windows update 7 crashed

    Hello

    Hope you can help.

    I have windows 7 64 bit installed and everything was fine until last night.

    It seems a windows update has been downloaded and when I turned my PC it was installing the update - the projection of the usual blue installation screen updates etc.

    It took a long time and it seems to me he had crashed, has frozen I couldn't move the mouse.

    Yes I know it says that you should not turn the PC while the update was the installation, but for me, it seemed like it had crashed and frozen upward.

    So I decided turn off the pc and he left the next day to check the pc.

    I turn on the pc and select windows 7 in my list - I have Setup dual boot

    I get the message that windows did not start properly, so I select boot normally - I get the swirly logo appear and then just a black screen with the cursor that responds to moving the mouse.

    There's just the black screen with the cursor and pass to the next step of the login screen.

    I think because of the windows don't update not install correctly and turning the pc off this contributed to hang on the black screen.

    I tried to start in safe mode to see if the same problem which he passes, I can connect via the SafeMode very well and have the available login screen and entered fine windows via safe mode.

    I get ideas as to what I can do to solve this black screen?

    To confirm once again, this has happened after a windows update tries to install, but as I felt it had crashed I turned off the pc - no drivers graphics etc. have been installed for a long time - only this update of windows

    I hope you can help, thank you very much

    InnI

    EDIT: Just to add that I tried to do a restore point, but as I turned it off I don't have the option to do so.

    Hi Martin,

    Thanks for the reply.

    I tried something last night after going through loads of forums.

    I tried F8 for advanced startup options, and I'll give you good last thinking setting up a go, known guess what, it worked!

    I was able to return in Office windows as usual, I even installed the update that it crashed on the last time, well, I think that he reinstalled the last update, it crashed on... anyway, I think I'm back to normal, but will check it out tonight but if you are still having problem try what I did It can work for you.

  • Satellite A100: Black screen on startup of windows

    Hello everyone,

    my screen doesn't show anything until windows XP starts. No toshiba start screen, no boot menu. The rest works batteries, no errors. I would like to have the normal start with: "press del to enter setup" etc.

    Thanks for the help

    Hello

    Something like press DELETE to enter Setup does not appear because usually, at the beginning, only the Toshiba start screen should appear.
    If you want to get into the BIOS you press "F2". Pressing the DEL you will not enter the BIOS. It s a notebook, not a desktop PC, my friend ;)

    What you can do is to disable Quiet Boot in the BIOS. Then active diagnosis and summary screen appears.

    Any suggestions to solve this problem would be great!

    For better understanding, you should put a little more useful information. Who knows what you do with your machine.

    What operating system do you use? What was your last step when everything worked OK?
    Normal shutdown of OS?

  • Black screen on startup Satellite A80

    I get a black screen at startup what is the problem and what is the solution for it? It might have something to do with the cold?

    Hi poly

    Please put more details on the problem, because it s not easy to say what has happened without any detailed information. You hear the operation of the HARD disk or fans?
    Switch you to other devices to display, before this problem occurs?
    Unfortunately it FN + F5 key combination doesn't work if the operating system has started so it could be a malfunction of the equipment. I don t think you can solve this problem by yourself. In this case, the only way is to contact the service.

  • I get a black screen when connecting to my TV

    PC to TV resolution problem?

    I bought a pc specifically if I could play the star wars: the old Republic game on my TV. I have connected the pc to the tv using a vga to hdmi. As a first step, that it worked fine. Then tried to play the game and the screen went black. I tried to change the resolution on the pc and now the pc when run in normal mode will only show a black screen after startup. It will run in safe mode with screen works fine. I tried different resolution setting and none seem not to work. I tried to look online for answers and saw someone suggested an app called powerstrip, so I managed to download that but can't run it in safe mode to see if it will be useful. How can I fix this so I can use the pc and play the game without a black screen?

    I forgot the exact dimensions of my tv, but it's about 45 ".
    Resolution of 1080 RCA
    I can't change the resolution of the TV.
    The PC is a refurbished HP Pavilion Slimline
    4 GB memory
    1 TB harddrive
    Processor Intel Pentium G630 at 2.7 GHz
    Intel HD integrated graphics
    Windows 7

    I looked at the model number for the TV. Here is the link to the specification for it on the RCA Web site.  http://rca4tv.com/product/spec.asp?modelnum=46LA45RQ

    I don't see anywhere to change the rate of resolution or refresh in the menu tv. When I go the part 'photo' of the menu it shows that

    You wouldn't change it on the TV.  ;-)  You must set your output video is that the TV can display.

    I suggest first - go VGA VGA if possible.  Go by what you presented (with some hypothesis, I am about to say), you have a few VGA HDMI adapter... So you get out of your VGA computer and go to your HDMI TV?  Given that the TV has VGA - VGA to go.  If your computer has HDMI - you might as well go HDMI to HDMI, but best results will probably come out VGA to VGA input.

    Inexpensive and probably work best for what you need.

    Looking around, this computer can do the following computer resolutions:

    • 1280 x 1024 (SXGA)
    • 640 x 480 (VGA)
    • 800 x 600 (SVGA)

    Another thing - it probably will result in what you see.

    Hello

    When I open firefox (Note: I have firefox version 28.0 and security Karspersky 2014) I get a black screen covering the firefox window around and it looks more lika a large window in firefox. What is it?

    Concerning

    Jean

    Huh, that's news...

    You can try Firefox in Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. I think that it is an extension.

    • Run firefox.exe - safe-mode in the search bar in the Start Menu. (Make sure Firefox is closed)

    Have you added new extensions recently around the time this started happening? The details of your system displays the following:

  • I get a black screen when I play videos in Windows Media Player and Windows Media Center.

    Until recently, all worked well for a long time. Now when you try to watch live TV or a DVD, I get a black screen with sound in Windows Media Center and trying to watch a DVD in Windows Media Player I also get a black screen with sound. The controls are there and functioning normally. DVDs are normally visible in the K-Lite Media Player Classic.

    I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, a tuner TV of SiliconDust HD Homerun networked and a videocard ATI Radeon 4550. I have all the latest updates.

    I found and tried many recommendations of the Internet for problems like this, and none helped.

    The video card driver is the latest provided by ATI to Microsoft for Windows Update and is dated from 19/04/2011. I tried to install the latest Catalyst software and driver from the ATI site, which does nothing to help, and then uninstalled. These drivers provide no option to adjust the hardware acceleration.

    I had an older version of K-Lite codec package installed. The problem does not change if I have the old version, the last 32 + 64 bit version or no version installed.

    In Control Panel, I tried to disable Windows 7 media, reset their reactivation components and reboot again. There is nothing.

    I had an older version of installed package from Cyberlink. The problem remains the same if I have the old version, the version the most recent or any installed.

    I tried to uninstall all Apple software: QuickTime, iTunes, etc. There is nothing to help.

    I tried to create a new user account; same problem there.

    I have VMware and a virtual machine that is running 64-bit Windows 7 Professional. In this machine, I can view DVD normally with Windows Media Player, using the same physical DVD drive. I don't have Media Center set up in this machine.

    Title photo: original No. in Media Center and Media Player

    The problem is now resolved. I removed the software installed probably because the problem started, and Cisco Webex, which I did not need, was probably the culprit, although I'm not 100% sure.

    Thanks to those who have tried to help.

    Hi Richard,

    I would be grateful if you could answer the following questions:

    1. You have installed the latest drivers for Windows 8?
    2. What is the model number for Toshiba Satellite laptop?

    If you get a black screen after upgrade to Windows 8, it might be due to an outdated or incompatible graphics card driver. Update to the latest version of the display driver should fix this.

    Try to remove all external devices connected to the computer and then try to start the computer and check if it works. Follow these methods and check if that helps:

    Method 1: To resolve this problem, update the site Web of Toshiba video card driver.

    Check out these Microsoft items for additional reference:

  • Satellite A305-S6898 - half black screen at startup

    I bought this laptop in early March and had to return to store due to a problem at startup when half of the screen would be black on the Windows login screen. They ordered me a new I got about 3 weeks ago and I used it for about a week before I had the same problem of a half black screen on startup.

    Now he has been running really slow and there is a time, I've had it freeze on me and my screen turn into a bunch of colored lines.
    I had to reboot in safe mode and run a virus scan just to make sure it wasn't my problem.

    I do not download anything on this computer other than basic messengers and photo editing programs.
    I have a HP MP7170N desktop computer which I use to download everything that seems to work faster than the laptop and I use photo, download torrents programs and store most of my pictures and music on this one and it has only 1 GB of memory compared to this the 4 GB.

    What is the problem?
    Anyone have any ideas as to what I can do.
    I can't really go back to the shop because they give only a grace period of 14 days for returns.

    Doesn't look good for me it sounds a bit like graphic problem.
    Before contacting a professional Toshiba authorized service provider would be, it would be interesting to know if you have seen improvements after recovery procedure and BIOS updated.
    I think you n t get a recovery disk because you can create it using the verification of software preinstalled Toshiba manual how to create the recovery disk

    If, after installing new check usability of portable and so similar issues still persists.
    If nothing will change it s is strongly recommended to communicate with an ASP.

    I can tell you how to make bootable disks, but you already have a disk.

    He has changed since good means of XP repair install from disk by booting from it.

    I would add that info to disk Bootable repair, just in case your DVD is a factory of one computer.

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/88236-repair-install-Vista.html

    It's Vista only repair installation option these days.
    It must be switched on!
    Not much use, is it!

    Good luck with it.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Download the ISO on the provided link and do a repair of the disc.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    Above information shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.
    ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
    It's a very good Vista Startup Repair disk.
    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
