Only some inaccessible files on network

I'm having a problem with access to my files on my network. The problem is not consistent in all files, or even all of the files in certain folders. It all seems like a collection of random files across to the refusal to be open by another PC by PC. It has nothing to do with the size of the file - some small txt documents and jpegs will not open while a 500 MB video will flow seamlessly. Also, it seems to vary from one program to a program - a problem txt file may not open in Notepad, but it will BE opened in MS Word!

The problem files will not open more where they are, nor can I copy them to the remote PC for the remote computer (if I try to transfer them from the host PC, it seems to work correctly)

The content of the files, as seen on the remote PC, is quite accurate: it's just that when I click on some of the icons, I like that windows does not find the file I selected (or a similar message, for example "file not found", ect). I tried to open all files of problem on their host PC and they are still intact, is not a corruption of the HARD drive.

On top of all the madness of this question, the host PC will not answer a ping from remote PCs, even if the remote PC can view there shared folders and access its files!

Both my PC have good to very good WiFi reception - this isn't a signal of abandonment problem.

The host PC uses Windows XP Home SP3 32-bit

The use of PC remote Windows XP Home SP3 32-bit & Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

Could someone please tell me what's happening, and more importantly, how I can solve this problem?

It is a bit of a guess, but do the following (it does not hurt and can solve your problems):

  • Open network connections (start > run > ncpa.cpl > OK)
  • Make a right-click on the icon of the network adapter that you use to connect to your network local (looks like it is your wireless network adapter), and then select Properties
  • On the general tab, you should have a list of 'points', used by the connection.  Select "Protocol Internet (TCP/IP)" and click on the properties button
  • Under the following general tab (where you select how an IP address is assigned), click on the button "Advanced".
  • Select the tab "WINS."
  • Select the radio button "Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP"
  • OK your way out
  • Check by opening a command prompt window (start > run > cmd OK) and typing

ipconfig/all {press Enter}

Make sure that the indicated line does NOT appear:

... The IP address: 192.168.1.50
... Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0.
... Default gateway. : 192.168.1.1.
DHCP server...: 192.168.1.1.
DNS servers...: 192.168.1.11
192.168.1.33
---> NetBIOS over TCP/IP...: disabled
Lease obtained...: Saturday, February 25, 2012 11:19:12
End of the lease...: Saturday, February 25, 2012 11:19:12

  • Also check that the 'TCP/IP NetBIOS Assistance' service is started and that it has an "Automatic" Startup Type

Start > run > services.msc > OK
Scroll to support TCP/IP NetBIOS (double click to open properties in order to make any necessary changes)

  • I am looking for a way to only sync music files (mp3, flac, ogg, etc) on local network.

    * Original title: synchronize files

    Hey

I am looking for a way to only sync music files (mp3, flac, ogg, etc) on local network. The Office uses iTunes, while the laptop is using Media Go. Each adds different files in the folder of the artist.  I want to synchronize only the files of songs themselves. Sync Toy, but also collective dwelling, you cannot add a wildcard character. (e.g. *.mp3). If I sync folders, each computer has useless files. I tried other software of synchronization, but once again, after the sync preview I have to deselect all other files.  I'll sit and listen to my answer. Thanks coach

You could 'roll' so to speak, but write a batch file.  Inside the batch file would essentially be only one command, the copy command set to copy only the *.mp3 example and ignore existing files.  Basically, SyncToy, but with filters.  The command in the command prompt you would use would be XCOPY or ROBOCOPY, which you can type followed /? to see the options (or both are well documented on the Internet).

Always it seems to me that it would be easier to just an another artist for iTunes folder and taskbar have their own libraries than others it does not.

  • Only some PC can ping server. Same configurations, tried everything

Hi I'm new to this forum.

I'm having a problem with my business network. We have a server where all our computers to connect through to access the files from Headquarters. Recently, the server had a problem and as a result had to change the IP address whose computers connect to in order to reach the server. Given what has happened only some of our machines are able to connect to the server. Everyone has windows XP Professional and that I see are implemented completely the same thing. So far I tried login as a different user, switching cables LAN, IPconfig/Release, IPconfig/flushDNS, check that TCI/IP netbios service is running, verify that the computer browser is running, disable firewall and antivirus. I am unable to ping the local server on these machines, get the message 'timeout request. " However, these machines are able to ping other sites.
Help to try to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated. Considers that Mitchell.

    Hi Mitchell,

    I tried to:

-Reinstall the drivers for the adapter

    -update the drivers

    -Reset my router

    -Gateway ipv4 manually of entry

-kill lan via Device Manager drivers

  • Some JPEG files seem to download very well, but are rendered incompletely.

Some JPEG files seem to be well uploaded by Firefox, but they do not completely. A progressive JPEG will remain very rough and no progressive JPEG will be missing the lower part. Of all the things I tried, I think maybe it's a bug of rendering in Firefox. More precisely:

    • The images are downloaded properly. The page loading stalls not but join immediately. If I click with the right button on the image and click "View image", he appears completely. If I open the media dialogue information Page tab and look at the picture, it appears quite as well. More curiously, if I use the eyedropper color tool and hover where the rest of the image * should * be, it displays the actual image pixels in the raster and also returns the value of the color of the image in pixels, while the main browser window always makes these regions as being transparent. I added a snapshot of the species to this post. Therefore, the problem also doesn't seem to be a problem of CSS/layout of the page (the Page Inspector shows the img block correctly).
    • Clears all data cache and cookies, then by restarting Firefox in safe mode does not make a difference. I even installed a vanilla Firefox to a new virtual machine and had the same problem when opening these pages. Other browsers (tested: Opera, Chrome, IE) do not show the same problem.
    • Reload with forced renewal cache (Ctrl + Shift + R) most often does not change the rendering of the image, but will rarely showing either more or less incomplete than before.
    • I can see the issue going on with two images on two separate pages. I re-encoded them using different software and different settings, but the problem persists, then it doesn't seem to be a problem of corrupted images.
    • I created an example of a toy to try to reproduce the problem: a same page with a different image, created specifically to try to trigger the problem. What I've found, is that the issue is triggered when the JPEG file above a certain minimum size (somewhere between 15 and 40 KB). What seems to be the rendering of the image in the main window stops after the reading of the image up to a certain length. Once again, the image seems well to be loaded into the cache and memory completely as evidenced by the display when you use the view image, or information Page.

I made three versions of the test page to try to reproduce the problem. Image of the first page is 11KO and always seems to go completely. Images of the second and third page are respectively 102 kB and 107 KB in size and will be usually incompletely. The image on page 2 use the progressive encoding, so the image will end up blurred. The image on page 3 use straight coding, so the image will eventually be rendered with the bottom part missing.

So far, I'm not sure why only, I encountered this problem on a specific Web site pages. Something must be the trigger, but it doesn't seem to be a problem with the server, the page or images.

Update: I introduced the site at Browsershots, asking for Firefox 35.0 renderings and a previous version for each of the Windows, Linux and Mac. Unfortunately, the renditions for Mac failed. As for the others, none of the versions pre-35, 0 present the display problem, and it is not present in Firefox on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 35.0, but appears on Firefox on Windows 2008 R2 35.0.
Here is the URL of the test pages where you want to check yourself: (darkened circles be transparent)

    http://www.abgase.org/firefox_debug.html (11kB, no problem)
    http://www.abgase.org/firefox_debug2.html (Progressive 102KO)
    http://www.abgase.org/firefox_debug3.html (no progressive 107KO)

(Do Ctrl + Shift + R repeatedly if the question does not seem to show, to be sure. If by any chance I can get it to render properly, it will fail again after that 2-3 charging at the most.

I did have a lot of time lately to make studying more. However, since the upgrade to Firefox 36 a few days ago, I can reproduce is no longer the question. This was confirmed during the audit on all my other Windows systems running Firefox: image rendering is usually interrupted when loading pages on Firefox 35.x, but still fine finishes after upgrade to Firefox 36.x.

This problem can be considered resolved, that the bug seems to have been given to v35 only.

I couldn't find anything relevant in the changelog of 36 of Firefox, but also found two Bugzilla reports that could have described the same problem, both claim that the problem goes away when you use v34 and/or v36:

#1125789: image full size is only partially displayed
#1126707: Firefox 35, MAC and PC image rendering problems

  • 3.6.1 numbers do not open some .xls files

    Hello

Some .xls files are different from the others?

I use an external booking system where I can download data.

If the file's .xls it open--just watch nonsense. .Csv files are fine.

I understand the 3.6.1 version had solved this problem.

I can convert the files, but it would be easier to open in figures

Not all .xls files are created equal:

It seems that numbers cannot open ' workbook Excel 5.0/95 (.xls) ' which can still sometimes the only format available for download from some websites.

But the number should be able to open "the Excel 97-2004 (.xls) workbook" and, of course, ".xlsx".

The features of each file ".xls" or ".xlsx" import as expected, but you should not experience too many problems with the leaves containing mainly data and common formulas.

I made some how manage to add to the iBooks on my phone app, but the print is so small and difficult to read. I try to add them to my iPad and can't do it. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Your Mac has the app iBooks on it (i.e. running Mavericks, Yosemite or El Capitan)? If it is then you add PDF files to iBooks (file > add to library) no iTunes - if you then connect the iPad to your Mac iTunes, they should then show on the tab 'books' selection and timing to the it

The purpose of the use of mp3 files, rather than on your CD WAV files is to move, five to ten times as much music in the same amount of storage and the sound quality has always be good enough.

You can use what version of Windows Media Player is already on your pc to rip to mp3 files. Simply start the program, click the extract and select mp3 for the format. Click rip again and choose the bitrate. I recommend the use of 192 or 256 kbps. The more the bitrate, the better is the sound quality, but the less will be the music player. I use 256 Kbps. Some who want more music on their drive use 128 Kbps. 128 Kbps sound much worse than the quality of a CD, while 256 Kbps sounds like the CD to many people. I don't hear the differnce between 256 kbps and 320 kbps. 192 Kbps always sounds nice to me, but not as good as 256 Kbps. I don't like how sounds 128 Kbps.

AAC files to mp3 conversion will result in a lower sound quality. A better idea is to make the MP3s directly from the CD.

  • Some Vista files missing after the withdrawal of the smart engine, but which?

No help available guy?  P.s. I'm a dinosaur when it comes to computers.

    Hi Lyn,

Go to start / all programs / accessories / command prompt and right click on command prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

, Type sfc/scannow go and let it run.  It will scan and try to the difficulty of some of your system files.  If all goes well he comes complete with no corruption, it could not repair (if it has these post of corruption here or try to analyze it to find the problem or files using http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928228.  If she has corruption, please put the on-line sfcdetails.txt file in order to download it and look at them details (try Skyline through your Windows Live account).

I hope this helps or at least helps us identify the problem.  Is this the only problem you are experiencing and it is only a few updates and not all?  When you try to install these updates, what happens?  You get the error messages (if so, what do say Word for Word)?  What site Windows says that there must be some missing files on Vista (Please provide a link to this site, so I can better understand the applicability of this notice)?

  • How can I change the attributes read-only or system files?

How can I change the attributes read-only or system files?

To view or to remove the read-only or system attributes, use the Attrib command at a command prompt:

    1. click the Start button, type cmd in the search box and press ENTER.

    2. to view the syntax for the Attrib command, Type attrib------? at the command prompt.

WARNING: If you remove the read-only or a file system attribute, it may seem like a regular folder and some customizations may be lost. For example, Windows customizes the Fonts folder and provides a special folder view that allows you to hide variations, such as bold and italics. It also allows you to change the display settings of the file in a way that is specific to fonts. If you remove the read-only attributes and the Fonts folder system, these custom display settings not available. For folders that you have customized by using the tab, customize the folder properties dialog box, the folder icon and other other customizations may be lost when you remove the read-only attribute.

If a program cannot save files to a folder with read-only, such as My Documents, change the read-only to the system attribute by using the Attrib command at a command prompt.

To remove the read-only attribute and to set the system attribute, use the following command:

    attrib - r + s drive:------------.

For example, to remove the read-only attribute and set the attribute to system for the C:\Test folder, use the following command: attrib - r + s c:\test

Be aware that some programs may not work correctly with folders for which the read-only attribute and the system attribute are granted. You can use the following command to remove these attributes:

    attrib - r-s c:\test

  • Export only some columns in export to excel instead of all?

    Hello world

My version of Jdev is 11.1.2.3.0.
I created a page in the ADF, in which I added an adf:table and a button to export to Excel.
Added 'af:exportCollectionActionListener' to the export to excel button. Export works very well.

But the client only needs a few columns in the exported file, means table has 24 columns, but when I click the button, it will show all
24 columns in the Excel sheet to the place I need to export only some columns (specified) in the Excel worksheet.

Note: Table shows all the columns (24), but when you export only some columns specified must be exported.

How can I get this requirement?

your suggestions will be really useful...

    Thank you.

I tested the use of prescription case. It works very well with the below code mode.

It is very easy to achieve using

Regardless of the column, you don't want to export, use attribute visible to handle those as below

    visible = "#{pageFlowScope.hideSomeColumns not 'true'} '"
