OK I solved the problem. The error I was getting is misleading.

Must I also patch grid infrastructure home with power supply?
Hello
I am building a new server to replace an old one with the following configuration:
OLD Config: Oracle 11 g 2 EE (11.2.0.3) with POWER 16056266 block, on OEL 6.2 64-bit (file system)
NEW Config: Oracle 11 g 2 EE (11.2.0.3) with power supply on OEL 6.2 64-bit, ASM (grid below) 16056266, 11.2.0.3
If I understand correctly, grid Infra Software version cannot be less than that of RDBMS software. Because the RDBMS software must be patched with 16056266 power supply to match the existing server, I have a few questions:
- Should I ask a PSU 16056266 grid infrastructure home (I'm sure the answer is 'yes', but I want to ensure that)
- Is the same power supply for the RDBMS and grid infrastructure OR there is a download separate patch for grid below?
- I need to replace the existing 'OPatch"under grid infrastructure home with the latest [just like I do to patch House RDBMS]?
Thanks in advance!

Oracle Grid Infrastructure PSU 11.2.0.4.3 (18706472)
Hello
I applied Oracle Grid Infrastructure PSU 11.2.0.4.3 (18706472) for Linux - x 86-64 but how to verify that the database has been patch AND IM has been fixed?
Normally, I would do the following:
. / opatch lsinventory-bugs_fixed | EGEP-i ' PSU | DATABASE UPDATE PATCH OF THE SET"
and
. / opatch lsinventory-bugs_fixed-oh/u01/app/grip | EGEP-i 'PATCH UPDATE SET GRID INFRASTRUCTURE.
The first command shows that DATABASE UPDATE SET PATCH 11.2.0.4.3 has been applied
However, the second command shows nothing.
Thank you.

OPatch failed with error code = 74
Hi all
I am trying to apply a Patch to fix a HFM error, but the patch has failed for the following reason:
I applied the apply, but the patch failed due to the following error:
ApplySession failed when prior checks: checking prerequisites 'CheckActiveFilesAndExecutables' failed.
System intact, OPatch will not attempt to restore the system
OPatch failed with error code = 74
According to the documentation of patch, step 1 is to stop Services of HFM, HsxServer.exe, HsvDataSource.exe and CASSecurity.exe process on all application servers.
I couldn't find these processes under Task Manager on our server HFM. So I stopped all Financial Services of the Hyperion of services.
I can't find these processes. I don't know if just by stopping all these processes automatically interrupted HFM services?.
Help, please! It might be useful to restart the server to clear all the locks on the files and make sure that no Hyperion not associated services are set to start before restarting the case, once you have restarted the files will be locked again.
See you soon

It is a RAC configuration, but I think it's more a problem of data General. I have 2 nodes on Windows 2003 x 64 - 11.1.0.7. I was installing the CPU from July to help migrate all my apps to node 2, down node 1 and connecting, start node 1 and migrate the applications out there, then patch node 2.
Well due to my inexperience with RAC, I ran the opatch apply, but has not used the local switch. When he had finished with the House, he asked me if Node2 was ready for the CRS patcher. I pressed N to say, it was not ready, and then he asked me want to continue. Well, since I wanted to keep saying no I say Y. It was bad and he began to copy the files to the remote host. I panicked and hit CTRL-C to kill him before the end of my apps that everything came down and around the world. I thought I did, so I finished patching Node1-CRS-ASM-DBHOME - and brought upwards.
But when I went to the node 2 patch he had problems. This is the error:
OPatchSession could not be loaded for the given Oracle Home inventory
C:\oracle\product\11.1.0\crs. Possible causes are:
No permission to read or write to ORACLE_HOME/.patch_storage
The central inventory is locked by another instance YES
Without the permission of reading in the Central stock
The locking file exists in ORACLE_HOME\.patch_storage
There is no such thing as the Oracle home in the Central stock
ApplySession failed: ApplySession could not prepare the system. Failed to create patchObject.
System intact, OPatch will not attempt to restore the system
OPatch failed with error code = 73
All permissions are good. I have even set them up to allow everyone (temporary) control to ensure that total. There is no file locking. The inventory.xml file is exactly the same as on node 1. The only thing that I can't solve the problems is if the inventory is locked by an other YES but I checked both nodes and there is no YES currently running process. I restarted the node 2 to kill anything useless. I don't have after the installation of node 1 because I would plan a failure.
The OPatch logfile on node1 has some mistakes YES where I canceled the node2 patch. Nothing that stands to be a killer of inventory for me.
GRAVE: YES-67073 ApplySession failed
YES-67081 OPatch could not propagate the patch for remote nodes
I read a note where someone just copied the folder oneoffs node1 node2 and it sets something similar, but that has not worked. I rename my inventory and recreated folder attachHome.bat in the ORACLE_HOME\oui\bin directory, but that did not work. Same mistakes lsInventory. Anyone has any ideas. I have a beautiful SR with Oracle since Friday but they requested that the log files and I have not heard anything. I don't have a system to test CARS so I'm stuck sort of until I get this resolved. I appreciate any help or suggestions.Hello
Try to restore the patch on node 1 and then try to apply again.

Hello
I will apply patch bundle and my oracle database 11.2.0.2 and Microsoft Windows x 86 platform. As read the file Readme Oracle recommends to use OPatch utility version 11.2.0.1.3 or later. To check the inventory availability I use the command lsinventory % ORACLE_HOME%/OPatch/opatch.

Issue of patching: OPatch failed with the error code 1
I'm trying to patch an AIX server which has 11.1.0 and 11.2.0.3 installed software. He has a 11.2.0.3 current database.
I have the cd to $ORACLE_HOME/OPatch and ran lsinventory opatch command and got the following result:
> lsinventory opatch
OPatch Version: 11.1.0.10.2
YES Version: 11.2.0.3.0
The OPatch version is not applicable to the current version of YES.
Because YES Version begins with 11.2, go to "My oracle Support" and get right O 11.2 patch . *. *. * from the patch 6880880 , version version 11.2.0.0.0 and the appropriate platform.
OPatch failed with the error code 1
I know that it uses incorrect opatch because when I run that opatch, it displays:
/U01/app/Oracle/product/11.1.0/Db_1/opatch
and it should be
/U01/app/Oracle/product/11.2.0.3.0/Db_1/opatch
Could someone guide me through the process of how to solve the problem please? I am new to patching
Solved by the setting $PATH variable

Hi Vandana,
Thanks for your time.
I commented the line on which the IP 127.0.0.1 is shown in/etc/hosts on all nodes.
file/etc/hosts is same nodes.when I do a ping to the public ip address, it is show the IP local hots i'e 127.0.0.1 not the real that I craved in the file/etc/hosts.
After that I comment that line of hole and he ping is resolved.
Regrads,
Malik Tanveer
