    Hi higi97,

How are you connected to the internet? You're behind a corporate firewall particularly safe? You're on Mac or Windows? You have an anti-malware software running on your computer which can prevent applications other than your browser to connect to internet?

You can try the steps below:

    1. close the application of creative cloud.

    2. navigate to the OOBE folder.

Windows: [system drive]: \Users\ [user name] \AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE

    Mac OS: /Users/ [user name] / folder/Library/Application Support / Adobe / OOBE

    3. delete the opm.db file.

    4. launch creative cloud.

Let us know if this helps,

    Kind regards

  • Locking a PDF file so that pro and standard users cannot edit and save

We have a standard user Adobe X and three Adobe X pro users and the rest of our personal user Reader X.  My problem is that when I create a form and lock it and then place it on our Linux Server standard and pro users can edit and save this form as if he is not at all safe.  Reader users cannot do anything except to fill in the form according to allowances for the security on the form.  Is it possible to ensure that all users are the same?  Standard and pro users are the worst to save their information in the forms.  I really want to be able to make sure they can't.  I sure not a pro by any stretch Adobe I learn something new every day so any help is gratefully accepted.

Thanks for answering my question.  The main reason we want no the staff to be able to save a form after that that it is been completed is that many of our forms are used by all staff and completed differently each time.  They would be more than welcome to save locally to their own files over, but what is happening is that the main form is often completed and recorded by the staff.  When the form is used by the next person it is filled with the latest information of users.  I want to lock forms to stop this problem from happening.  Of course, if the form requires an electronic signature, it will save, but who is saved locally and not on the server of the Agency.

In the last months, I started to receive messages pop up when editing pdf files. One is "cannot complete this action because the"filename. " PDF-Adobe Acrobat Pro"program is not responding. "Choose" switch to "and correct the problem. The other is "content preparation courses. "Please wait while the document is being prepared for" and displays a progress bar. One last question, I noticed it is adobe hangs quite frequently and shows "not responding". I had Adobe Acrobat X Pro for several years, and these have not always taken place only months. I ' n not Adobe expert so I don't know why this is happening. I checked the updates. Any advice on what is happening?

  • Problems with the creation of PDFs in Acrobat Pro 11

We are going to have problems with shared PDF files created in Acrobat Pro 11.0.11 or above.

When some users to create shared PDF files and send for shared review, they can be considered as shared PDF in Acrobat Pro (yellow bar appears, with shared PDF functions), but not in Adobe Reader 11.0.11 or higher (without shared review menu bar appears, can't we seem to view manually).

Anyone know what could be the problem? It's only for PDF files created by some users, another shared review, a PDF file created with Acrobat Pro 11.0.11 or superior open fine in drive 11.0.11 or above. I think maybe it's a setting that is not correct for some users...

    Thank you!!

  • Break during the "save under" for the combined PDF binders - Acrobat Pro XI

Suddenly, Acrobat Pro XI crashes ONLY when "save under" for the bindings of combined file is executed.

    Conditions

    • Two or more files are combined together, sometimes Word or. Documents RTF, combined with PDFs
    • When the workbook is created, I want ", but reduced."
    • Crashing, happens once the images are being processed
    • It started a few days previously worked without crashing, but there
    • I can do a 'Save as reduced' for non-binder files
    • I can do a 'Save as reduced' AFTER 'impression' linking it to a new PDF
    • It is for all documents binding on the network or on my local machine
    • It's for all the computers on the network, then this problem is the workbook files themselves

    I took action:

    • All the updates of Windows and Acrobat have been executed
    • A reboot has finished several times
    • All temporary files have been deleted
    • Tried to uncheck "Save as optimizes for fast Web pages display", no change
    • Tried to reduce 'documents in the recently used list' from 100 to 10, no change

This seems to be due to one or several pages in the documents linking themselves, I think of those with pictures on them. Once again, if I print the workbook as a new PDF and then do a 'Save as reduced' it works very well, to me I think that after the images we been reduced or pixelated when printed, it allows the "reduction of the size" to work because the images are more than "images"?

    Any information is appreciated!

    Reset preferred had no change.

    Repair facility had no change.

I had specified it is happening with the "binder" documents are created by combining RTF files in a PDF file, then try to reduce.

I had already said that this is happening with all the computers on the network, which means that several users have tried, no difference between them.

Looks like that to happen is no longer with new documents, RTF files only 4-5 do this now instead of each of them. Just documents cannot be reduced after linking to PDF, Acrobat still crashes. However, we believe that it is just these 4-5 RTF files that might have some sort of image or text which cannot be rasterized. There are other RTF size files we can work that do a bind and can then be reduced in size.

We assume that these specific documents either have a certain level of corruption or something around those who don't like Acrobat.

I have Acrobat Pro on my computer and I work with the drawing that have been digitized in PDF format. The scanners are not aligned or place because of the poor scanning process. Is there anyway to align the document even if it requires me to crop or lose some on the edges?

    Hi brad.

Yes. You can use the analysis tools to straighten and crop your document. Here is a link to a new tutorial. The key to activate the sliding options recovery is to choose the option of the camera Image in the drop to Enhance, and gives you tools to set the correct page for smoothing areas.

  • Inflated files PDF of Acrobat Pro

I created last night to PDF using Acrobat Pro 10.1.13 . (Windows 7/64) and they seemed quite large and not very good quality with compression artifacts. The originals were monochrome scans, which are the OCR would be then recorded optimized by using the default settings.

    optimize dialog.jpg

I was doing a similar job on last year and the PDF file was 5, .2MB and the quality was excellent. I saved a copy of the file year after OCR stage. Reopening now and savings "optimized" gives 24 MB! (and poor quality). Save as 'File size reduced' gave 10 MB but garbage quality.then and now.jpg

I keep Acrobat up to date but does not record when he upgraded. I used to use the optimization tool in the tools Panel, but this disappeared in the upgrade to 10 (I think).

How can I go back to the good quality and small files?

Post edited by: Malcolm Storey (slight rewording for clarity)

Apology & gals guys: stupid mistake on my part: there is a small drop down at the top right of the tools Panel. By clicking on "Document Processing" in this menu, adds another section which includes the tool "Optimize scanned PDF". It's the one that disappeared. It gives the result I was looking for.
