• Open EXR channel cache Options broken?

  It's been a while! Nice to be back on the ole ' stomping grounds!

  I'm a bit confused as to where the channel Open EXR caching feature is spent. If I select my Open EXR 32-bit sequence in the project window and choose to interpret it, when I click on "more options", I get no floating window to fill in the parameters. I have the latest version of installed ProEXR (not that it matters, in my opinion). I use the latest version of Mavericks and the latest edition of CC. I tried manaully of editing preferences, but I get the error thrown back when I try to launch AE with updated preferences the:

  

  

  FWIW, I tried shooting Brendan an email but haven't heard back. Is this a known issue?

  Embarrassing. You have the same problem with the plug-ins provided with AE? If you have deleted them, you can get version 1.8 of the regular ProEXR page.

  BTW, with 1.9 you should have several elements preferably OpenEXR I see in the screenshot you posted. The one you can use as a workaround solution is called "Threshold of auto-Cache", which is default to 0. If you set this to a value other than zero 8, the channels Cache option will be lit for you automatically if an EXR file that you import has 8 channels or more. If you set it to 1, then all EXR files will have their channels put in cache.

• How to speed up composition when you work with files open exr?

  The main issue is covered by the title, but to help give you some background, here is a concise summary of my workflow:

  I hope someone can help.

  I produce 3d animations composited .exr files saved out of 3ds max with vray.

  I usually use separate .exr sequences for each of the items to make... rgb, reflections, the hardware ID etc... rather than recording a sequence unique .exr with all items incorporated in each frame.

  I do it for flexibility, but I'm open to the idea of using the second approach above - certainly easier search and replacement of files sequences fact.

  I find the somewhat slow Extractor plugin loading several exrs sequences and even a single sequence is so much slower that other files formats I can watch other floating point options.

  I tried the new cache for exr CC 2014 files options, but it is still slow.

  Files are stored on a single 2 TB internal sata hd drive but performance seems no different when the composition of a flash ssd drive internal or ssd in another pc on the network.

  Strangely, an external drive plugged into usb 2 or 3 seems faster, after several trials but way still slower than png, tiff etc...

  Any suggestions on improving my workflow for faster feedback from EI?

  I stuck with 16-bit when possible. This has the advantage that 3D programs themselves make a conversion to integer values, and there is so little about consistent across formats and applications based on standardized assumptions like that and space sRGB and Gamma. 16 bit TIFF is quite powerful in AE. Problems with float TIFF and HDR files are pretty well planned, because all I know is no interval of fixed value defined in the file format specifications and everyone uses their own mishmash. Inevitably, you can't completely eliminate EXR, but you can book it for things you actually need as usual or motion vector passes. in my workflow certainly hacky inflate a 16-bit to 32-bit file never made much of a difference of 32-bit native files, but of course you can use subtly lit scenes al lthe night where it could be more relevant than for my reasonably evenly lit technical visualizations and motion graphics all...

• camera raw does not open when you open the .exr file

  How can I do the raw camera window to open when you import legacy exr files.

  It works with other files as .cr2 but exr camera raw windowless

  AE opens EXRs very well.   You would normally add an effect to your EXR (exr image sequence) on the timeline for the color correction.  If you are on the last AE... Discover the new Lumetri color effect in the effects & Presets (he is hidden in the utility folder at the bottom of the list).   It of really great for those who like the types of controls that you get in Lightroom (or camera raw).

  I would export JPEGs from Aperture into lots and then import the images in the "Photos" application I would like to that the opening of 'Name of the Version' to become the "title" of the image in case of 'pictures '.

  Is it possible to write the name of the Version of the opening of the batch to the export of field before (or during) 'Title' Aperture opening?

  I don't see an easy way to do it.

  Batch change presets allow only a constant string for the title field.

  However, you can change the file name for the version name, if you use 'Apply to the original file' in metadata > Batch change dialog box.

  

  As you probably know, the pictures does not use the names of files as the default titles, but you can use the script Script: batch change the titles to the w/Extension of file name in the Photos section user tip to copy the names of files in the title, once you have migrated the photo library.

  Or modify the script to copy the version names in the field title in Aperture.

• Suggestion for Sony RAW viewer

  I would love to see the ability to export to a an editorial (i.e. prores or same mpeg2 or XAVC) friendly files rather than simply DXP open EXR or stacks.

  Also would like to see a feature of culture anamorphic... I know there is now an option of-squeeze, but to add a zoom/crop function that gets the images to the standard 02:39 would be great. Also need this as an option on the camera to monitor properly. I've been testing the camera and I have a few suggestions which I'll post in another thread. Thank you!

  Unfortunately, you can only batch with commands in the option "treat multiple files" of the editor or the 'Export' one in the Organizer. Action would be able to combine several orders for a single file, but do not use the command given on a lot. You would need a script for this.

  The two new orders to 14 elements (haze removal and shake reduction) can be very effective, but they can also produce strange artifacts... Their use in the batch may be undesirable.

  I recommend the following solution to improve lots of files needing to increase the local contrast:

  If you work with raw files, open a small batch of files from the Organizer in the ACR module. Use the cursor to 'clarity' to all files in the batch and add some sharpness.

  If you work with JPEG files, use the editor and choose "open in camera raw" option for your batch chosen files from the file.

  Who should provide a good improvement to most of your files. You can use two new orders than in the pictures with the specific defects:

  -shake (common with telephoto lenses) removal

  -mist removal (not only haze, but images softened with "flare")

• Window display OpenExr playback Options for all files when generating thumbnails

  I use Bridge CC 6.2.0.179 x 64. I work a lot with the OpenExr files. All of a sudden bridge appears this little window of playback options (regarding the Alpha channel) for all OpenExr files when generating thumbnails, which pretty much makes bridge unusable when you enter a folder with many pictures. Is there a way to disable this option? I've never known this behavior before, so it seems to me that it was introduced with a recent update. Any help on this is much appreciated. Google did not until now, anything useful.

  We published a new version of Adobe Bridge (CC 2015) on July 19, 2016. This update is available via the Adobe Creative Cloud application.

  We addressed the issue of "Open EXR reading Options Window" in this version. Please try the new version and check the number you have met.

  If you are not able to locate the bridge (CC 2015) on the creative cloud application, you will need to update application creative cloud and restart the machine.

• How will I know if I have photoshop extended

  I'm open exr 32-bit float files, or trying to, and read that photoshop extended is required for working with these files.

  What I find, my version, photoshop cc 64 bits has all the features of photoshop extended. Is this true?

  If not, how can I know if I actually have photoshop extended and/or how can I get it?

• Ensuring Acceptable Luma and Chroma range for broadcast

  Can someone send me in the right direction for the workflow correct and professional for that? I'm usually provide work to other production companies, who handle the final CC for broadcast, but I am concern directly the networks on my current project and have worked in the Open EXR 32-bit so I need to make sure I'm OK when I restart 8 - bit. I specifically need limited 16-235 Luma, Chroma 16-240, which seems pretty standard form my research. The final result is still 32-bit in AE, while I was trying to get all the limits in the right place that I converted down to the delivery of 8 bits. Not sure if this is possible? I'm obviously a little green on the technical aspects of digital color, I have a thought in general familiar with the general concepts...

  For Mac which is the F2 key, don't know about PC, but it's the same

  shortcut.

  Yes, change you it in the read window information from all of the files, as long as they are of the same type of file. Click to get information, and choose the Application you want to open. Then, choose change all.
