  • Why Adobe PDF opens the dialog "save under" when you simply save a file

When I make changes to a file and close (or just press 'Ctrl + S'), rather than overwrite the current file with the one Adobe PDF, newly edited now opens the dialog "save under" and I have to navigate to the folder that I need. Why does it replaces the file, as it used to? This behavior can be fixed?

Re: the various save dialog box, try this: go to the menu, then Preferences, then click the general tab, on the left. On the right, uncheck the radio button 'Show online storage in check'. Press OK in the Preferences dialog box, and then try to save again. Now, the platform save dialog box must be indicated directly.

For the other issue you reported (Save as are save under), you can tell us:

1 do you have permissions to modify the file. On OS X, if the file is locked or is the file "belong" to another user?

    2. can you choose the same file that you opened when you are prompted to save and are able to replace that?

I can't open the PDF with Adobe Reader XI... get an error that "Adobe has stopped working" then it closes.  Is it a question of Adobe, Microsoft problem or security issue?

Since you talk about Microsoft, I guess you're on Windows.

Can you open Reader by itself?  If so, try to disable the Protected Mode [Edit |] Preferences | (Improved) security].

  • How to prevent a new tab in Firefox to open when you open a PDF file in Adobe.

First of all, this problem started Monday, August 25, 2014 when I was forced to update Firefox to log in my accounting online program. I had no such problem in the previous version of Firefox.

When I open a PDF document to an e-mail (which displays a Firefox icon next to it), the document opens in Adobe reader, but also a blank tab opens in Firefox, even with it is not already open. When I close the PDF, the Firefox tab remains open and I have to close it manually. Happening with PDF documents that I saved to the network of my company or my computer (which have the Adobe icon). I don't want to have to save a PDF file on my computer as a workaround for this problem.

Under Tools > Options > Applications, I already spent the Adobe/PDF options to open it in Adobe. In addition, in topic: config, the value of 'pdfjs.disabled' reads 'true' and 'plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types' contains "application/pdf".

I work with a lot of PDF files and I'm frustrated to the point where I'm about to uninstall Firefox and just use Internet Explorer.

  • Open the PDF with Adobe Reader - wonder what must do Firefox - every time

    Hello

Whenever I want to open a PDF file, Firefox asks me "that should Firefox do with this file.
I opened with Adobe Reader (default) selected and I have the box 'do this automatically... ". "checked.

So, it seems to me that Firefox should not ask me every time.

Hi - I do not always want to ask; I want that he will never ask.

That said, I changed my setting of the option "always ask" and the next time I tried to open a PDF document, the open dialog box to ask me what to do. The box 'do this automatically... ". ' has been disabled, as expected.

I checked the box 'do this automatically... ". "and now Firefox is most requested.

Weird way to solve the problem, but it seems to work fine now.
    Thank you

    1. Go to Tools > Options (or Firefox > Options).
    2. In the Options window, select the Applications tab.
    3. In the Search box, type PDF. You should find Portable Document Format (PDF).
    4. On the right referring, you should find a column of Action . To select your favorite PDF reader. In order to view PDFs in Firefox, choose Preview in Firefox.

  • How can I get firefox to open a pdf file in adobe instead of the new pdf reader?

Before the recent update, 19.0, I google something and see [PDF] next to a link. I click the Center button to open it in a new tab. Firefox might download the file and open it with Adobe Reader. I like this.

With the new update 19.0, the pdf file would open in the new tab. I have to down load it and then open it in Adobe. I don't like this.

I'm going to preferences under applications. I look to see if I can change that. Next to document Adobe Reader, I choose to use Adobe Reader, but when I click on a link [PDF], it always opens the file in Firefox and not Adobe.

I want to go back to the way it was.

Problem: Open a pdf file in Firefox, he wants to save the file.
    Remedy:
In Firefox, tools, Options, choose the column on the left (Content Type) Applications tab, select Portable Document Format (pdf). Right column (Action) choose Preview in Firefox.
    I use Firefox 21.0.
