opening links in a new window
Really stupid question, I just have not found an answer, sorry!
I'm developing mobileversions of sites that need to look good and run on Blackberry. Unfortunately I don't own a Blackberry, so I use Adobe Device Central. I am getting an error on each target = "_blank" link which "Open a HTML link in a new window is not taken in charge." and the new page does not load.
I think Device Central is a bit confused and even if not, that disregarded supported HTML is more likely to be ignored only to stop a page from loading. So, in short, does Blackberry support target = _blank HTML syntax? If not, this actually makes links does not work?
Thank you!
I strongly suggest to download Simulator and try things so that you can judge for yourself.
Try this site on a sim torch 6.0 reveals target = _blank works fine:

When I click a link on a Web page or other software, I want to open in a window, completely new.
You can hold the SHIFT key and click the left button of the mouse a link to open this link in a new window.
The setting in tools > Options > tabs is only for links that specify a window target and you can hijack such a link in a new tab instead.

"Open link in a new window" doesn't work anymore. What should do?
"Open link in a new tab" still works.
Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of your modules is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Modules > themes).
- Makes no changes on the start safe mode window.
See the extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common troubleshooting Firefox problems and troubleshooting questions with plugins like Flash or Java to solve common Firefox problems
If this does not work in safe mode and then disable all your extensions and then try to find out who is causing by allowing both the problem reappears.
- Choose "Disable all add-ons" on issues to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode to set window to disable all extensions.
- Close and restart Firefox after each change through "file > exit ' (Mac: ' Firefox > leave";) Linux: "file > exit ')

When I click on a link, firefox opens in a new window. It is used to open it in a new tab instead which is what I prefer. I've never had this problem until last night, so I have no idea what might have started it. I tried the suggestion to put firefox in safe mode and still the same problem. I have firefox 15.0.1 on windows 7.
What security (firewall, antivirus) software do you have?
Try to start the computer in safe mode Windows with network support (on the startup screen, press F8) as a test to see if it works.
Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problems.
See "create a profile":
- http://KB.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "tools > Modules > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If the new profile works then you can transfer files from the old profile to the new profile, but make sure not to copy corrupted files.

who was the last version to allow the opening links in a new window by default?
Used to have the opportunity to set as default, when I clicked on a link, it would always open in a new window. I want to revert to this version... If it is supported or not! I HATE THE TABS!
You can disable tabbed browsing in the options:
Orange Firefox button or classic menu Tools > Options > tabs
Uncheck the boxes of the first and the fourth. This will restore the default behavior for links, which is:
- If a 'target' is defined in the link, or launch a new window or replace the contents of the existing window with the same target.
- If a script is triggered when you click on the link, leave the script to open a new window.
- Otherwise, follow the link in the same window.

I have really no more info. When I upgraded my Firefox to the latest version I noticed that I can ' t use this open in a new window option. I reinstalled the software using the U.S. English version (first time I chose the UK English version), but in vain.
I solved the problem by disabling the Yahoo toolbar extension.

The only method I found to open a new tab is to copy the URL, press Ctrl + T, and then paste the URL and go.
Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).

When you click on a thumbnail image that is supposed to open the same image in a pop-up window. (that is a larger version of the same image). Firefox appears in the popup box 'not found '.
The URL requested / undefined is not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 not found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument directive to manage demand. However, this does not work on other browsers? Any idea why this happens? Example http://motorpride.co.za/inventory.html. Click on any image of the car in the listIt is an error in the source of the page (href instead of the src of an image).
This should be onclick = "window.open (this.src,, 'height = 300, width = 400, left = 200, high = 200'); return false;" »
Just click with the right button on the image and middle - click on the entry to see the picture to see this image in a new tab

The Office has a Windows XP Home Edition and the laptop has Windows 7 Home.
It is possible that you have a problem with some Add on Firefox which is an obstacle to the normal behavior of your Firefox. Have you tried to disable all add-ons (just to see) to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you must make sure that it is not caused by one (or more) of your installed modules, whether an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do this easily and cleanly, start Firefox in safe mode (remember to select disable all add-ons when you start safe mode). If the problem goes away, you know that it's an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode and allow them one by one until you find the source of the problem. See this article for more information on troubleshooting extensions and themes and this one for plugins.
If you need help with one of your modules, you will need to contact the author.
If the problem does not disappear when all add-ons are disabled, please tell me, so we can work from there. Please be afraid not to follow my instructions to the line, as everything can be easily undone.

15.0.1 Mozilla gets stuck. You click on the links and nothing happens. No wheels spinning, nothing. I open Firefox in a new window, the same thing. I can only fix it by starting the Task Manager and close all Firefox Windows. [When I launch Internet Explorer, there no problem.] Thanks for your help!
