  I guess you've planned somehow a script to run at startup. I have no more CS5, but in more recent versions of Photoshop, you can find Scripts under file and would go to the Scripts event Manager dialog box. You can see that I set this up to run the sticker to the startup action. To stop running just uncheck the events allow to run box. It's probably a little bit different in CS5, but you can probably get by on your own now.

When I open Bridge CS5 arrives in CS4 Bridge opens instead.this on 6 times out of 10. How can I stop CS4 Bridge opening, what do I need to uninstall PS CS4 and Bridge CS4 off my laptop. If I try to open the bridge from within Photoshop cs5 it also open bridge cs4 instead of cs5. Thanks You.Longlegs

  CS5 and CS4 are 2 independent programs and there is no interconnection.

  My first guess is the you have CS4 helped launch Bridge at startup.  Because you can have only one version of the bridge running at the same time, when you load CS5 it load CS4.

  Disable automatic loading on CS4 and 5 and helps to see.

  I'm opening a CS4 CS5 project.

  At the opening, I get a message saying that it was created in an earlier version of Pr and must be converted. I click OK and get a screen showing all project files and clips with options to "jump" or "ignore all". I tried to open the folders but nothing is there, and he said: 'no items matching your search. I tried to type the project name in the "File name" field the same thing. I click on a clip, but that doesn't matter either, so I click "Ignore all", and when the project opens all the clips have been replaced by an image saying "media offline".   When you open a project CS4 CS5, the conversion will result in a new file name with _1 appended to the name. At the opening of this project, you will need to show PR where the files he heads in the right directory.   There are 2 reasons why this might occur on the computer.

  1. your computer is overheating.

  2. the version of Windows installed on the computer is a BETA version or Windows is not activated.

  Yosemite has a history of breaking CS5 installed.
