There is a catch...
You must be an administrator on his computer in order to configure Parental controls, and his account may be either an admin account. Because if he has admin rights, it can remove the parental control. For the benefits of others looking for answers, please mark as answer suggestion if it solves your problem.

  • I need help to get rid old parental control user accounts

I had several user accounts I created then to monitor parental controls.  My computer had to be indented by default settings/factory settings because there is an error not connected blue screened my PC.  I have now implemented some additional, other than user accounts and only that was left on my PC (end-user), when he returned from PC World - work.  These names come in the section of control panel user account, but not the 'old'.  However, the family safety Web site still shows these old names and it generate reports of e-mail about the activity, which they may show no activity due to being is no longer accessible.  How can I erase the please.

I had the same problem in November and has responded to my request.  I don't seem to have the option, they told me so "go in manage account names" or something similar. I've been on the site, where the names are listed, but all I can do is stationary on a name and does nothing right click, left click brings this account to the screen.  Very confused.  Apologizes to the previous respondent.  Must be something wrong.

    Hi GalaxyGirl,

We are happy to help you in this regard. If I understand correctly, you simply want to remove the user account that displayed on the Family Safety website. You can easily remove the accounts it as follows:

    1. connect to https://familysafety.microsoft.com using the parent account.

    2. click on manage the list of the members of the family. This is located under the list of the members of the family.

    3. check on behalf of the child, and then click Remove. Click delete again to confirm.

Please let us know if you need more information.

  • Need help to set up parental controls

    Hello

I want to set up parental controls on my son's laptop computer.

    Thus, users are

    His name

    Director of comp.

    Password protected

    not monitored by family safety

I thought that I could not / would not set up on the administrator, so I created a second user

    His name1

standard user - control parental on

    no password

    monitored by family safety

I have implemented controls, but they are not in force, I guess, because they should be on his main user? If this means that it can change the settings since this is admin?  I'm confused :(

    Hi Dee2537,

We are happy to help you set up parental controls in your son's laptop computer. Given the information you have provided, we see that you addressed some of the scenarios where parental control will not work correctly. One of it is implemented in your child as an administrator's account. Family safety not restrict and recognize the account as a child, if the application detects that it is using an administrator account. The other implements access to his account without password because Family Safety requires that the user has a password to secure the account. Because you have pain to configure the account correctly, we strongly recommend that you follow the instructions step by step on how to set up on behalf of the child in the family security and laptop to your son.

  • Help for the parental control on Vista administrator account

Computer of my son is running Vista and I set parental controls in place through the administrator account, there a nonadministrator account.

I changed the password after that we had a few problems with the controls, and now I want to change the settings again. However, the old password allows for parental control (IE, he allows his account access websites and bypass control, etc.), but when I try to access the administrator account, it says the old password does not work. When I enter the password, account says I don't have the login procedure and kicks back me to the main screen of Vista (where I take which account to enter).

So, I'm stuck administering the account due to a conflict in the parental control passwords. If I try to reset the password, the computer ask me a USB stick with the old password on it information. It is a step that I did not.

Any way to disable the administrator account? Or somehow remove/reset the parental control account access restrictions that I am experiencing?

"when I enter the parental control in the non-administrative account, the system simply ignores the password that I entered"

I suggest you read this info below on who has access to parental controls and how it works:

  • Parental control & YouTube

I turned on parental controls, and all of a sudden my Youtube app is gone, is anyway to prevent this app to disappear? I tried to allow youtube.com in the Web sites section to allow restrictions, but that did not help. Any ideas?

The app is rated 17 +, so if you want to restrict apps it be hidden – the only way to stop that is not to restrict apps (which allows to youtube.com as a website will allow it on Safari, it won't unlock the app)

  • Cancel the Parental control, because I'm the Parent: but not Administrator of my computer

I myself blocked on my computer. I didn't know that Apple was the administrator of the computer, and I was a user. I turned on the 'enable parental control' to limit the spending of my adolescence, while using my apple ID. I didn't know I was putting controls on myself. I tried everything-

    (2) tried questions help and support, impossible to find a way around it.

    (3) I've changed my password, now I can't even shut down the computer.

I can't believe that this happened to someone, somewhere, and it's so easy to do.

    Help, please! I tried everything-

Please take these steps to restore the privileges on your account. This somewhat tedious procedure is only necessary if you have verified that no work administrator account exists on the system.

If you do not already have a current backup of all your data, you must back up before taking any of the steps below. Ask if you need advice. You won't need the backup unless something goes wrong, which is always possible.

    Step 1

Start in recovery mode. The OS X Utilities appears.

    Step 2

This step only if you use FileVault 2. Start utility disk, then select the icon for the volume FileVault startup ("Macintosh HD", unless you have given it a different name.) It will be nested under another icon of the disc. Select open in the file menu and enter your login password when you are prompted. Then quit disk utility must be returned to the main screen.

    Step 3

    Select

    Utilities ▹ Terminal

in the menu bar. In the window that opens, type this:

    resetp

Press the tab key. The partial order you entered will automatically end this:

    resetpassword

Press return. Opens a window to reset the password. Select your boot if not already done volume. Pull down the menu option

    Select the user account

    and select

    Administrator (root)

Follow the prompts to set a password. It is safer to choose a password that includes only the characters a - z, A - Z and 0-9. I suggest that you write the password. If you don't write it down and forget about it, you will start again at step 1.

    Select

     ▹ Reboot...

    in the menu bar.

    Step 4

This step, as step 2, applies only if you use FileVault. Sign up as usual, then select

     ▹ Disconnect...

from the menu bar or press shift-command-Q key combination. Do not restart. You go back to the login screen.

    Step 5

On the login screen, click on the other... Enter 'root' (without the quotes) in the name field and the password set in step 3 in the password field. You should now be logged in as root. It is a potentially dangerous situation. Do nothing by being logged in as root except as indicated below. You'll be fine as long as you don't dismiss the plan.

Open the preferences users and groups window. Select your usual administrator account from the list of users and check the box marked

Allow the user to administer this computer

You will be prompted to restart. Do this and log in as yourself, not as root. Your administrator status should now be restored.

    Step 6 (optional, but recommended)

Follow the instructions in this article to support under the title "disable the root user. You must authenticate in directory utility as a 'root' with the password set in step 3. As another administrator authentication will not work.

Yes, your Nighthawk will still work as the DHCP server for the network and, therefore, point devices on the OpenDNS servers.

Although it is possible to learn how and use the Open Firmware password, to attempt to get the Admin acct

In the past, some computer models were easier to open and to perform tasks that could derail this method.
