  I only managed to get installed DAQmx and running RHEL 5 and I wanted to put the instructions here in the hopes that I could save someone else a large part of the time.

  First of all, I want to thank all who have contributed to the forums OR regarding the DAQmx Linux software installation. Most of the information contained in this how-to came directly from these two positions: Fedora Core 6 How-to and Fedora Core 5 - kernel 2.6.20 - 1.5 NATION howto

  A special thanks goes to ninevoltz, who took the time to understand apparently most of this stuff on and even pushed back the developers of the core on the limitation of length of symbol of modpost.

  Here are the steps I took when installing a PCIe-6259 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, 2.6.18 - 53.1.19.el5 kernel:

  1. Add UTS_RELEASE to the version.h file
     • CD /lib/modules/2.6.18-53.1.19.el5/source/include/linux
     • CP version.h.dist version.h
     • Cat utsrelease.h version.h.dist > version.h
  2. Create a link to asm_offsets.h with an underscore in its name
     • CD /lib/modules/2.6.18-53.1.19.el5/source/include/asm
     • ln s asm - offsets.h asm_offsets.h
  3. Modify the application of modpost to accept names of symbol more of 500 characters
     • CD /lib/modules/2.6.18-53.1.19.el5/source/scripts/mod
     • CP modpost.c modpost.c.dist
     • Change the line 1116 '#define SZ 500' to '#define SZ 1024 "
     • CD /lib/modules/2.6.18-53.1.19.el5/source
     • do (Note: this will fail, but will get far enough to rebuild the modpost program.)
  4. Download ni.com NIDAQ800_RedHat.iso and install it
     • Mount-o loop/mnt NIDAQ800_RedHat.iso
     • CD/MNT
     • . / INSTALL
     • CD
     • umount/MNT
  5. Remove the packages OR rusted, installed by NIDAQ800_RedHat.iso
     • rpm - e - nodeps nipali Edward nipxirmi niorbi nidimi
  6. Download NI-VISA - 4.3.0.iso to ni.com and install it
     • Mount-o loop/mnt NI-VISA - 4.3.0.iso
     • CD/MNT
     • . / INSTALL
     • CD
     • umount/MNT
  7. Recompile the kernel modules OR
     • / usr/local/bin/updateNIDrivers
  8. reset

  This procedure worked great on my system, I was still able to run the application/usr/local/bin/DAQmxTestPanels successfully. I had read that others had to wrestle with some MesaLib to make it work.

  This is me did not help.  I need instructions on how the new buttons in the upper part of the keyboard are for as well as the F keys with blue drawings (hard to see) on them and how to use them.  Web site, I was sent for were not not one of these information.

  So do your own research. Bing or Google. Or go to the manufacturer's Web site and ask.

  I don't have an instruction manual for my printer. When I had last year I bought it in a store that was going out of business and bought the last of them to off the shelf. I have NEVER scanned before documents and would like step by step very simple instructions on how to do it. It is the first scanner I've ever had. So I need simple instructions.   Usually scanning documents the independent scanner or All in one printer the method is very simple and even. Given your all - in a single 4500 printer, please follow the steps mentioned below:

  -Lift the cover of the printer.
  -Load the document that needs to be scanned.
  -Place the original face to print down on the corner front right of the scanner glass.
  -Close the lid and go to the scan button on the printer control panel. If you are able to find the scan button, press the same and follow on-screen instructions to scan your documents. If you are not able to find the scan button, continue with the steps below.
  -Go to start on your computer screen and right-click on an empty area of the screen.
  -Click on 'All the Apps' on the application toolbar, and then click the icon with the name of the printer.
  -In the printer software, click the icon 'Print & Scan'.
  -Select "search for a Document or a picture.
  -Select the type of analysis you want on the shortcut menu and click 'Scan '.
  -Select "Save" If you want to keep the application open for another scan, or select "Done" to exit the application.
  -Once the scan is saved, a Windows Explorer window opens in the directory where the analysis was saved.

  Please, try the following steps and let me know what happens:

  1. Open Control Panel > Add / Remove programs.
  2. Locate Flash from Adobe / Macromedia Flash, select it and click on uninstall.
  3. Install the latest version of Flash by using Internet Explorer (a different browser can only install a plugin for the browser) here
  4. Insert the installation CD. Close the installation windows.
  5. Open my computer, right click on the driver CD, and then click Browse.
  6. Enter in the installation folder.
  7. Enter the folder of SolutionCenter.
  8. Right-click SolutionCenter.msi (can be identified by its other icon) and choose repair. Aprove that any error or prompt until Setup is complete dialog box.
  9. Restart the computer and try running the Solution Center once again.

  Although not onboard chip ships bluetooth in these machines, if you plug an external USB bluetooth device then providing you install the following additional packages:

  * bluez-utils
  It works perfectly!

• Operating instructions for the dictionary of the Script Editor

  I was wondering if there was a tutorial or some other type of documentation to understand and consume literature dictionary in Script Editor.  I don't know what my problem, but I can't understand not just how to turn the information in there in script code.  Here is an example.  I have asked the following question on stack overflow.

  Once I get my message subject, I do not understand how to move it to a different folder/mailbox.  What is an action on the Message, mailbox, the account or other? I see in the dictionary that the message object has a property of the mailbox, and it doesn't have the (r/l) on this subject, so I guess that is not read-only.  I can't understand how to edit.

  In applescript, I know it is something like:

       move message to mailbox "mailbox/folder name" of account

  ... but the javascript doesn't really work like that.  You will need to perform methods/functions on variables/objects, right?

  In any case, this is where I get frustrated by the documentation of dictionary and would like a sort of primer on the way to understand.  If you want to jump over to the stack overflow and fix my specific problem there, would be great also.

  I can't understand why Lightroom would do that, because it seems too counterintuitive to be a planned function.

  How can I explain to Lightroom that I need to have new open catalogues in the library on the creation mode?

  It is not a big problem, but it's a gene that keeps piling up day after day.

  No way to do this automatically, but pressing G to switch to grid view in the library seems not too heavy for me.
