optimal interpolation parameter

fairly new thread on interpolation

You can't find this thread today.

Seems that Noel had a very reasonable technique but I forgot.

Vince

In my opinion, Photoshop CS6 and more with no 3rd party software resampling, just updated to bicubic (smooth gradients), the old reliable setting that goes way back, is still the best IMO.  Automatic setting of default bicubic called Bicubic Sharper in the case of subsampling, which introduces horrible artifacts.   I put my general preference for Interpolation of images to bicubic (best for smooth gradients).  If you really like things more smooth and less strong looking, bicubic smoother can be a good alternative to a default setting.  It's kind of up to you.

With Photoshop CC, it's going to be a new choice to increase the resolution of the Image - the dialog box Image size, Details of preserve (enlargement).  This seems to be good enough to increase the resolution in the general case.  It just seems bicubic fact standard for the downsampling, if I let it just set this way.

Maybe it's the post office that you are remembering.  Keep in mind that you will not have access to the new function of Photoshop CC upsampling until June 17.

  • the setting of OPTIMAL in the rollback segment storage

    Hello
    in metalink note subject: ORA-01555 "Snapshot too old" in very large databases (if you use the Rollback Segments)
    DOC - ID: 45895.1
    I see:
    Solution 1d:
        ------------
        Don't use the OPTIMAL storage parameter in the rollback segment.
    But how not to use the OPTIMAL storage parameter in the rollback segment?
    Thank you.

    If you use undo_management = AUTO (in 9i or more), then there is no "BEST" setting

    "OPTIMAL" is when you use the manual Undo with Rollback Segments created by the DBA.

    If you use the manual Undo management, check your Rollback Segments. The optimum size would be visible in V$ ROLLSTAT.

    select a.segment_name a,  b.xacts b, b.waits c, b.shrinks e, b.wraps f,
          b.extends g, b.rssize/1024/1024 h, b.optsize/1024/1024 i,
          b.hwmsize/1024/1024 j, b.aveactive/1024/1024 k , b.status l
    -- from v$rollname a, v$rollstat b
    from dba_rollback_segs a, v$rollstat b
    where a.segment_id = b.usn(+)
    and b.status in ('ONLINE', 'PENDING OFFLINE','FULL')
    order by a.segment_name
    /

    To unplugged the Optimal adjustment you can run

    alter rollback segment SEGMENT_NAME storage (optimal NULL);

    Note that if you unset OPTIMAL, then your Rollback Segments will remain in very large formats, if and when they grow up running of important transactions ("OPTIMAL" is the method of pre - 9i to Oracle automatically reduce Rollback Segments). You can manually SHRINK or DROP and then CREATE Rollback Segments.

  • parameter of temporal interpolation of "wedge".

    I consult a tutorial on AE where he animates an object from A to B is a B for a while then moves to C, is located a C for a while, then switch to D, etc.  He puts a keyframe when it arrives at B, and also when he leaves B and C go.  Once again, to C, it puts a second series of keyframes.  Thus, the sequence of keyframes is at positions A, B, B, C, C, D, D, E, E,...

    So far... I get it.  But then he goes back and on the keyframe where it happens to B, he adds 'Hold' - changes affecting temporal interpolation of 'hold. '  I sorta understand why, but what is strange for me, if I look at the graph Editor's position between two keyframes 'B' in the same position is already absolutely flat.  If the "hold", in this case, does not make difference.

    I played everywhere to try and get the interpolation between two keyframes in the same position to not be flat and so far, I have not been able to.  This tutorial is perhaps not a good example to use 'Hold '?

    I understand that if you want the object to go from A to B, then you would use 'Hold '.

    Use 'Hold' in the situation described above, that perhaps a jet to older versions of AF and AF now automatically knows to keep the line between the two keyframes to the same flat value?

    Or is it perhaps the case that under strange circumstances, the value is not always a constant and therefore adding the shim is more a habit of type 'just in case '?

    This tutorial is perhaps not a good example to use 'Hold '?

    It would help if we could see the tutorial, but what you describe seems that Hold'em is not necessary.

    Or is it perhaps the case that under strange circumstances, the value is not always a constant and therefore adding the shim is more a habit of type 'just in case '?

    you use hold if you want no interpolation between the 2 keyframes. If they are the same already, this means that there is no interpolation then it is not necessary.

    I understand that if you want the object to go from A to B, then you would use 'Hold '.

    Yes, the hold is to make the layer jump between keyframes

    Use 'Hold' in the situation described above, that perhaps a jet to older versions of AF and AF now automatically knows to keep the line between the two keyframes to the same flat value?

    N ° it's always this way in Ae.

  • image processor script and the parameter interpolation image (cs3)

    Hi all

    I am using Bridge and Photoshop CS3 (mac) allows to process batches of photos. I discovered the 'Processor of Image' script does take into account the "image interpolation" setting of my general preferences in Photoshop.

    It's very painful, because I can't use 'Of Image Processor' longer, because it produces soft images, where I need sharp ones (my fault for "interpolation of the image" is "Bicubic Sharper".)

    No idea/solution workaround?

    Thank you

    Patrick

    Image processor using Image Fit to do the resizing. That you don't like to use Image adjustment BICUBIC method you can editing this script. Change line 143 of

    app.activeDocument.resizeImage(newWidth, newHeight, resolution, ResampleMethod.BICUBIC);

    TO

    app.activeDocument.resizeImage(newWidth, newHeight, resolution, ResampleMethod.BICUBICSHARPER);

  • In passing the huge parameter to oracle procedure have a performance hit?

    I have a script attached, in which I am trying process/XML parsing in a table (STAGE_TBL) in the XMLTYPE column and insert the data analyzed in another table (PROCESSED_DATA_TBL). The XML file can be huge up to 2MB, which translates into approximately 2000 + lines of analyzed data. The issue I see is when I pass an XML object to a procedure (STAGE_TBL_PROCESS) to analyze its takes about 10 seconds per XML, but rather than from XML if I directly pick up table in the procedure (STAGE_TBL_PROCESS) passing the ID to be about 0.15 seconds. According to the document while params are passed by reference, so why is this variation of performance?

    The issue I see is when I pass an XML object to a procedure (STAGE_TBL_PROCESS) to analyze its takes about 10 seconds per XML, but rather than from XML if I directly pick up table in the procedure (STAGE_TBL_PROCESS) passing the ID to be about 0.15 seconds.

    In version 11.1, Oracle introduced a new model of storage for the data type XMLType called XML binary.

    Binary XML become the default in 11.2.0.2, to disparage the old storage based on CLOB.

    Binary XML is a format optimized after analysis for the storage and treatment of the XQuery.

    When an XQuery expression is evaluated (through for example XMLTABLE) on an XMLType column stored as binary XML, Oracle can use an ongoing evaluation of XPath that surpasses the query even crushed a transitional XMLType of several order of magnitude.

    You can see that in the action plan of the explain command:

    SQL> SELECT E.*
      2  FROM stage_tbl t
      3     , XMLTABLE('rp_send/rp_sendRow' PASSING t.xml_document
      4 COLUMNS store VARCHAR(20) PATH 'store'
      5               , SalesNo VARCHAR(20) PATH 'sales'
      6 , UnitCost NUMBER PATH 'cost'
      7         ) E ;

    Execution Plan
    ----------------------------------------------------------
    Plan hash value: 1134903869

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    | Id  | Operation          | Name      | Rows  | Bytes | Cost (%CPU)| Time     |
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    |   0 | SELECT STATEMENT   |           |     1 |  2008 |    32   (0)| 00:00:01 |
    |   1 |  NESTED LOOPS      |           |     1 |  2008 |    32   (0)| 00:00:01 |
    |   2 |   TABLE ACCESS FULL| STAGE_TBL |     1 |  2002 |     3   (0)| 00:00:01 |
    |   3 |   XPATH EVALUATION |           |       |       |            |          |
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    When the query is executed on a passenger XMLType (for example, a parameter, or a PL/SQL variable), Oracle cannot run the binary model and use a functional assessment based on memory of the XML DOM-like representation.

    You can see that in the plan to explain it by spoting a 'COLLECTION ITERATOR PICKLER FETCH' operation.

    So what explains the difference (in your version) between treatment from a column of XMLType (stored in binary XML format) or a variable or a parameter.

    From 11.2.0.4 and beyond, things have changed a bit with Oracle, introducing a new transitional level of optimization on XMLType.

    The plan of the explain command will show a "XMLTABLE ASSESSMENT' in this case.

  • How to manually manage the interpolation between keyframes 2?

    Hello

    I am currently working on a plugin that apply to tour (depending on the angles of yaw, pitch, and roll) to a video.

    I would like to know if it is possible to control these 3 angles between the 2 keyframes interpolation (other than linear, Bezier, etc.) or by manually adding intermediaries points to control the trajectory?

    THX in advance

    Using the effect of the AE API, with an arbitrary parameter data type, you could control your own interpolation (see PF_Arbitrary_INTERP_FUNC).  You can try to use such a parameter in combination with a user interface control angle.

  • Computing optimal ulimit

    Can anyone suggest an optimal calculation method to set the parameters of ulimit for Oracle 11 g on RHEL/OEL 6 2?

    No params. sufficient documentation for most of the cases, or must be adjusted somehow?

    "Oracle-RDBMS-server-11 GR 2 - preinstall.rpm" makes the adjustment, or fixed by default?

    If possible, put a note of metalink for that, because I was unable to find one.

    Here are the docs params:

    Open file descriptors

    nofile

    at least 1024

    at least 65536

    Number of processes available to a single user

    NPROC

    at least 2047

    at least 16384

    Size of the stack of the process segment

    battery

    at least 10 240 KB

    at least 10 240 Ko and not more than 32768 KB

    And silly question, perhaps: can be put into production without parameter, then at all?

    Thank you

    Dear gurus

    want to understand the concept of undo_retention as geeting a bit confused

    There is work planned in my database that regularly throws error snapshot too old error.so I intend to increase undo_retention but I am confused that what value should I give.as I handled a request from google as

    undo_retention also is associated with defining flashback also confirm undo_retention is dynamic parameter I could change at any time without changing anything.

    Rgds

    Hello

    Yes, you can increase UNDO_RETENTION dynamically.

    Normally, the undo_retention is supposed to rest on the longest query in your database. You can check MAXQUERYLEN in V$ UNDOSTAT for this.

    But I thought it would be best to explain about undo_retention. cancellation information are kept by Oracle during this term of undo_retention. He died not these cancellations up to the expiry of the term of undo_retention. But... .but in the case Oracle has no space in the undo tablespace, it can always go and crush the cancellation "run" in this case you will get the error ORA-01555. Similarly, Oracle is 'not necessarily to' expire the cancel once the retention period is gone. It can still maintain, or in other words, expired not it if he didn't need. In case your undo_retention is 60 minutes, and you can still have the cancellation expired in which case nothing else requires the need to cancel, making it to maturity.

    Unless you apply the cancellation, Oracle may decide to expire the Cancel if the situation requires it. You should then make sure that your undo tablespace is large enough to meet the retention time of your cancellation. Increase it to anything you want and monitor the longest query in your database (in the ideal, an end of month report or quarterly report) and something a little bigger than the value the undo_retention and also make sure your undo tablespace is big enough. V$ UNDOSTAT will help you in this

  • VertexShader - parameter / matrix editions

    I'm trying to implement a simple shader mask for my 2D engine and I have several problems to make it work.

    Basically the shader takes two images and two matrices and tries remap back the position of vertices in the vertex sprites to the position of the local space mask then calculates the local uv coordinates for the mask, but I'm stuck with a few calculations base here.

    Bug 1: Divisions of the core hardware vertex work not at all. That's why I put invertedMaskSize (which is 1.0 / 128,0) in the shader (but we already know that )

    Bug 2: interpolated vars must be float4, float2 isn't possible (it's a pretty old bug as well)

    I tried the following changes in the shader. The shader posted here, just try to display the uv coordinates resulting. No texture is used.

    Case 1:

    float4 ((vertexPos.x + halfMaskSize.x) = interpolatedMaskUV * invertedMaskSize.x, (vertexPoss.y + halfMaskSize.y) * invertedMaskSize.y, 0.0, 0.0);

    The output is as follows: http://dev.nulldesign.de/plain_uvcoords.PNG Just like you expect! Perfect, we'll proceed.

    Case 2:

    Change the halfMaskSize and the invertedMaskSize to float2 and set the parameters in the form of two vectors of length two of course in ACE. Output: http://dev.nulldesign.de/float2_uvcoords.png

    Case 3:

    Masking test, the multiplication of matrices. First calculate the position of the global space of the vertex:

    float4 worldSpacePos = float4 (vertexPos.x, vertexPos.y, 0.0, 1.0) * objectToClipSpaceTransform;

    It maps then back to the local space of the mask:

    float4 localMaskSpacePos = worldSpacePos * maskObjectToClipSpaceTransform;

    And calculating the uv coords:

    float4 ((localMaskSpacePos.x + halfMaskSize.x) = interpolatedMaskUV * invertedMaskSize.x, (localMaskSpacePos.y + halfMaskSize.y) * invertedMaskSize.y, 0.0, 0.0);

    For the test, I put the maskObjectToClipSpaceTransform in contrast to the objectToClipSpaceTransform. In theory and on paper, it should work.

    But, I think, something is happening in disorder and maybe the maskObjectToClipSpaceTransform is screwed in the shader, just as when I put the halfMaskSize and the invertedMaskSize to float2. The result is the following: http://dev.nulldesign.de/local_uvcoords.png and I don't have any idea how to resolve this...

    < languageVersion: 1.0; >

    parameter float2 uvOffset;

    If the float2 value, strange things happen

    parameter float4 halfMaskSize;
    parameter float4 invertedMaskSize;

    interpolated float4 interpolatedUV;
    interpolated float4 interpolatedMaskUV;

    Sub evaluateVertex()
    {
    not used in the current test...

    interpolatedUV = float4 (uvCoord.x + uvOffset.x, uvCoord.y + uvOffset.y, 0.0, 0.0);

    float4 worldSpacePos = float4 (vertexPos.x, vertexPos.y, 0.0, 1.0) * objectToClipSpaceTransform;

    does not work as expected

    float4 localMaskSpacePos = worldSpacePos * maskObjectToClipSpaceTransform;

    float4 ((localMaskSpacePos.x + halfMaskSize.x) = interpolatedMaskUV * invertedMaskSize.x,)
    (localMaskSpacePos.y + halfMaskSize.y) * invertedMaskSize.y,.
    (0.0, 0.0);
    }

    image4 input textureImage;
    image4 input textureMaskImage;
    parameter of float4 color;

    output float4 result;

    Sub evaluateFragment()
    {
    just view the uv coords

    result = float4 (interpolatedMaskUV.x, interpolatedMaskUV.y, 0.0, 1.0);

    /*
    texel sample = float4 (textureImage, float2 (interpolatedUV.x, interpolatedUV.y), PB3D_2D |) PB3D_MIPNEAREST | PB3D_CLAMP);
    float4 texel2 = sample (textureMaskImage, float2 (interpolatedMaskUV.x, interpolatedMaskUV.y), PB3D_2D |) PB3D_MIPNEAREST | PB3D_CLAMP);

    result = float4 (texel.r * color.r,)
    Texel.g * color.g,.
    Texel.b * color.b,.
    Texel.a * color.a * texel2.a);
    */
    }
    }

    I know that we are working with an old version of four months of pb3d and I hope that a new version will be out soon and maybe all these bugs that I have met are already solved, but if it isn't... Here is an another shader to fix

    I just discovered another question when I worked through your example. If you have a parameter that is used by the kernel of vertex and a parameter that is used by the material evaluateVertex of the core function, they must have different names, even though they are supposed to be the same value. The particular setting that gave me the wrong is objectToClipSpaceTransform. I use it in my kernel of vertex standard, but it is also used in your example as an input to the function evaluateVertex.

    We have not yet worked which is the right way to deal with this situation, for the moment, the work around is to make sure that the settings are two different names.

  • Problems of quality of 3D interpolation

    Hi all

    Everyone has noticed how the 3D interpolation results in loss of Visual quality of the movieclip?  For example, if I have text inside a movieclip and then put a Tween 3D on this movieclip, the text becomes almost blurry (even when the Tween is finished).  Then if I take off the movieclip 3D interpolation, the text returns to be perfectly clear.  It is not just text its content with a Tween 3D on it; text is the most sensitive.  Is anyone else dealing with this?

    Is there something I'm missing, as a parameter of quality on the 3D tweens?

    Thanks for any idea!

    P.S. There aren't filters blur on the movieclip.  I checked

    What is the meaning of this error? Is there another way to accomplish the above?

    Thank you!

    By the Tech reference
    @SUMRANGE (mbrName [, XrangeList])

    Description of the parameter
    mbrName any valid name single member or member combination or a function that returns a single member or a combination of members.

    Optional XrangeList. A valid member name, a list separated by commas in the names of members, through the dimension members or a set of member function or a distance function (including the @XRANGE) which returns a list of the members of the same dimension. If XrangeList is not specified, Essbase uses level 0 of the dimension marked as time members.

    You try to put a member set in the mbrname and it allows only one returned. While the trip is a dynamic member calc if 9000_adj is a member of the same size, it might work to just 'Journey' instead of children. of course, you can also use the Xrange function as the second parameter to help you at the intersection of all members.

    Database driver error...

    The two parameters that are missing are in the decode portions where you will notice there are only comma in parentheses...

    I wonder if it has nothing to do with the DTM block size and buffer pool size error mentioned before the race? Any comments would be appreciated.

  • Optimized SQL in sql * more... .acts differently in pl/sql... Why?

    Hi all

    I was reading an ad, and there I found the below (beware I'm a dba level jr). My question is how can we optimize the sql inside pl/sql if his will act differently... as below mention... the SQL query can act differently (it may or may not) incorporated in a pl/sql block, let so say I have a select which I optimized in sql and now put this same sql in pl/sql and it is different... How can you optimize it... also I know dbms_profiler... any good links for her would be useful as well...

    The optimizer mode parameter is intended only for statements that are derived directly and not from PL/SQL statements. Therefore, if you have tested your SQL querymore or any other tool, then then joined the same in a PL/SQL (anonymous or stored routines) block, the query may or may not work the same! DML in PL/SQL statements are executed to CHOOSE mode (if statistical ALL_ROWS is present) defined at the session level default and OPTIMIZER_MODE does not influence besoin.*

    I think that this does not apply to the latest versions of Oracle longer. The hidden parameter "_optimizer_mode_force" is true because 8.1.6 and, therefore, the recursive SQL in PL/SQL should follow the same OPTIMIZER_MODE as defined in the session.

    You can find a more detailed explanation on the website of Jonathan Lewis on this topic: http://www.jlcomp.demon.co.uk/faq/sqlplsql.html

  • optimal size of the photo

    I want to know what is the optimal size of the photo of the Apple calendar. Particularly in the case of several photos per month.

    Thank you and best regards

    pamabi

    Photo calendars are size 13 x 10.4 inches (or 33 x 26.4 cm).

    Information about the books, cards and calendars ordered photos for OS X and iPhoto - Apple Support

    The photos you use will be quite large, if the pixel size is high enough to support at least 200 dpi, best 250 dpi.

    So the picture full size should be at least 2600 pixels wide, better 3350 pixels to 250 dpi.

    If you want to have 3 pictures in a row, to split these numbers by three.
