OptiPlex 755, win7, Teac dvd dv28sv dvd disappear.

My dvd player go after start up. He disappears after 1 min app.  These two 'my computer' and device drivers.

I can use the drive to boot from, it works perfectly before windows loading.

Had this problem for weeks and I tried so many things.

'Fix it' can't find no fault when the drive is there and can't find the drive when he left.

Find a TBF updater for the reader on the Dell driver home page. He cannot find the drive at all.

During the minute I see the drive it works meet bad, slow, if playing a cd playes like TI we / off all the time.

I have some additional problems with reading some usb sticks that work on other stand-alone, but don t think that everything to do with it.

Experts on it?

OK, I turn to pass the necessary. :-)

Thank you.

  • Card PCI-E graphic for Dell Optiplex 755 SFF

    Hi all

I have an Optiplex 755 SFF 275W PSU and PCI-E video slim with.  Graphics on this series are awful - video DVD playback cannot without jerking.  I spent a few hours trolling on the web trying to determine which video card will work in the 755.  The general consensus of the 'guaranteed' card is the Radeon HD 2400 PRO.  So, I managed to follow a fact (after trying a 5570 & it not even leave the PC start), had shipped here and installed.  To see that it does not too leave the PC startup.  So typical of Dell to make the PC which are incredibly limited.  What is the point of having a PC capable of running Win 7 (will have 8 GB of DDR2 RAM, has currently of 2 GB and currently has a Dual E6550 - core 2.3 Ghz CPU) when he cannot take a card even modestly spec'd?  This is the last time that I buy Dell.

Anyway, having spent the mug shot (ah, much better, thank you)-why the this junky 755 will only take the so-called "guaranteed" HD 2400 PRO?  When I try to start it up, it not this stupid pre-start high ramp / down fans, then turns off, try again, then turns off, then on the 3rd go fans just go hard on & stay like that for as long as I care to leave.  If I take the HD 2400 PRO on & put this stupid DVI adapter card in the PCI-E slot, it's all good.

No changes have been made to the 755 - it's just a standard stock machine.  If for some bizarre reason, all others using the HD 2400 PRO with the 755 SFF tell bald-faced lies (that is, they are not really using a HD 2400 PRO at all), what are the other maps?  I see that the motherboard has "25W" appear next to the slot PCI - E - but the HD 2400 PRO is rated at 25 w max.

Buy the 755 was supposed to be an inexpensive way to make a living desktop PC.  I don't want to lose more money on cards that don't work.  And the HD 2400 PRO was relatively expensive for such an old map, obsolete (crazy NZD$ 42 - when a 5570 is only NZD$ 65).

Any help / constructive suggestions appreciated.

  • Internal BluRay Optiplex 755

I have a recently purchased Dell Optiplex 755 Desktop (Core 2 Duo 2.20 GHz - 2 GB of ram) that I turned into a HTPC.  I am wanting to replace the current DVD - RW with a Blu - Ray player, so it can really be the HTPC, I need.  I don't know what it takes to get well.  I've already added a video as the integrated graphics card were not allowing me to connect the PC to my TV.  So now has a Radeon HD 6570 (1 GB 128 - bit DDR3) inside.

I don't really need another burner that I have a laptop with what I can do and this PC is 100% as my home theater box.  Thanks for your suggestions.

    Hi ralze,

You can use any blu - ray for the system. There Bay 3.5 inch standard for the DVD player. There are many manufacturers of Blu - ray discs on the market like SONY, SAMSUNG, LG, etc.. You can compare their products online and before making any purchase.

Answer please if you have any questions.

  • Second HD in an Optiplex 755

    Hi guys

I just bought a refurbished Optiplex 755 mini tower it as a disk sata hard with Win7 pro, but I would like to install a second hard drive to install Win XP

I have problems making and the second hard drive must be sata0 in bios like the first Hd!

I don't plan on doing a dual boot, but just toggle the drive I want with the key F12

    Thank you

Thank you very much for the quick reply JackShack, so now I formats the drive Win7 knowing that everything should be good, either by the way, I find it easy to understand the way you explain things

  • Dell OptiPlex 755 SFF rear disc HARD fan Press F1 CORRECTED an error!

EDIT: Fix for F1 error is on the #2 post. Try only if you know what you are doing and don't mind not having is not a HDD stupid fan. I now only use a SSD and it needs no power noisy fan to waste.

    ORIGINAL MESSAGE:

I removed the fan hard drive dying on the Dell Optiplex 755 SFF (fan is built in a hdd cage) and modded the side of the case to include a Yate Loon 120 mm fan. I removed the hard drive in its entirety and then used cage the where the floppy drive has been to place my SSD 256 GB of free space. The system is much more pleasant that way, and now he has place for 120mm fan (already modded).

However, at startup, there is a rear fan error and it asks you to press F1 to continue. It disappears when I connect the old dying noisy fan (has more room for it). Because I don't want the hard drive cage (or his fan also) and I can not put the fan back in, I want to use the connector and the son of the old fan dead and hang it in my nice new Yate Loon, which is the ideal solution for cooling (used as a suction fan).

    The color codes are:

    Yate Loon (D12SL-12): Red = 12v, black = mass, yellow = Tach (I think)

Dell drive HARD fan (STROKE BN06015B12H): Red = 12v, black = mass, yellow? Blue? (PWM or tachometer)

What are the blue and yellow for the Dell HARD drive fan? Can I just plug the Red of Dells Yates red and black wire on black? This should give me a 12v fan work, however I wonder if the loons Yate flying over red wire could be used for the sensor.

Any help would be great. Really sad that Dell did not include a fan setting ignore in the bios.

    Thank you!

    SkOrPn

EDIT: Ok, Yate Loon do not light up when it is connected to the fan header. What is missing? The old fan of Dell is rated 12v A 0.36 and the YL is 12v 0.30 A, less than the old fan so the fan header would seem like the logical place to get needed power as it provides much. When the old fan is plugged it provides 12v, but does not provide power when Miss the blue and yellow wires?

Edit2: Ok, understood as the Yate Loon uses the Red wire as the 12v fan (somehow, I thought it was yellow). Now, I think that the yellow must be a son of tachometer for rpm. Now I'm wondering if the Dell system can monitor the number of TOWERS to connect the yellow wire without prejudice to the system without the connected blue. In fact, I wonder if the controller monitors just RPM to warn of the fan failure. If so, maybe I can connect the yellow and get rid of this error from the BIOS at startup screen.

    Hello

I've linked yellow pine of wire of the connector of the fan HARD drive on yellow pine of the CPU fan connector and no fan of F1 more at startup error -correction

I have no need for my SSD disk drive hard noisy fan.

  • CPU Upgrade for Optiplex 755 - Core 2 Quad?

    Hey guys!

I have a Dell Optiplex 755 desktop computer. It's a SFF, and I picked up the recycling room in my office. It just need a HD fan, and it runs great. He got a Core 2 vPro 3.0 ghz in there at the moment, 4 MB of cache and FSB 1333.

It works well, but I would like to upgrade to a slightly faster processor and I am considering my options. I watched the fastest Core 2 Duo, I couldn't, and they offer only a 3.33 ghz, however, it's something like $350 dollars for the processor.

I started thinking maybe I should see what there is and realized that there is also the Core 2 Quad and the Extreeme of 2 Core that are available with one cache of FSB 1333 mhz, and PGA775 (or other).

I'm curious, but you guys don't know if it is possible to install a Core 2 Quad or a Core 2 Extreme in my Dell Optiplex 755? This PDF shows on Page 10 to take a Core 2 Quad. http://www.Dell.com/downloads/global/products/Optix/en/opti_755_techspecs.PDF

Which is the maximum that the BIOS will recognize / support? Can I use a QX6850?

    Thank you guys!

  • OptiPlex 755 Mini Tower does not, no outdoor lighting

I can not get an OptiPlex 755 minitower to light. It ran quite constantly in a desktop environment on a battery backup/surge protector APC until it failed Monday morning. Then, there was little orange light flashing or continuous. When the computer was turned off, he would not come again. Sorry for the blur, but it's an opportunity information. I found a lot of dust inside, but I've seen much worse on computers

When I push the power button, I get no change: no light in the power button, no diagnostic lights, no noise, no fan movement. When I connect it to power the led "to THE" on the motherboard is provided on a solid yellow/orange for the power supply is to put something.

Is this likely to be a power supply problem? Is it possible to limit other than buying a replacement POWER supply?

    Thanks for any help,

  • Ask the photo of a Geforce 755ti mounted on a Dell Optiplex 755 MT

    Hello

I took al peek inside my Optiplex 755 MT and space for a better GPU is very narrow. A scale (2 card slots will not fit, I presume.

Someone has a picture of a Geforce 750ti mounted in a 755 MT and would be willing to download it if I can see how the card matches?

    Thanx.

There is no single slot cards.   If one has been in they hacked the support in half or deleted support entirely.  If you remove the bracket on the EVGA models you can use a shears tinsmith to CUT OFF half of the support.  The ventilation openings are blocked, so you may need to drill holes in the case of clear air.  Maps of long with 2 fans DON'T FIT and WILL NEVER FIT in the tower or any other size.

Only a few cards with a few fans to adapt.

Through the Optiplex 780, the chassis has remained the same - that said, you're better off buying a new (or a more recent version) upgrade of the system.

You will find all the systems in the range of $200-300 - not much more that it will cost for a single pension + CPU + RAM.
