OptiPlex 9020 and Windows 7

Hello

I bought a new SFF of 9020 Optiplex with windows 7 64-bit Professional installed, as well as with a windows 8 CD.

I would like to reinstall windows 7 64-bit on a new SSD.

How can I get the ISO for this version? I do not wish to install Windows 8.

Thank you!

You can not download an .iso. Microsoft has beat all the Digital River .isos and replace them with a non-functional tool that is deliberately blocking the Dell OEM Windows 7 licenses, you can see my video that proves (you use you don't have downgrade rights a unique Windows 7 product key even when and so would not be able to use this tool) :

What you need to do is to create a Rescue Disk (external hard drive Bootable) or a (USB Bootable) backup plant using the latest version of Dell backup and recovery by following the instructions here that you can start from reinstalling your factory settings on the SSD:

Hi, first sorry for my English

I am trying to configure raid 1 with a dell optiplex 9020 minitower, but at the moment it does'nt work. I have configured raid 1 on the bios and installing ubuntu start but then fail.

Possible that the od raid controller PC is not compatible with Ubuntu Desktop 14.04?

Hardware RAID requires a controller. You then boot BIOS and Partition and INITIALIZE the container.

You start live linux and to partition and to format and install.  You can't do that on the fly during installation.

The container must be initialized as a single disc BEFORE any os turns.  The container must be initialized as a reader unique regardless of which operating system you want to install.

  • Dell optiplex 790 and windows 8

    Hello guys

What is windows 8 pro compatible with Dell optiplex 790?

Are there problems with it or not so if I buy windows 8 pro 64-bit, how can I install the drivers?

    Hi raedov

790 OptiPlex systems have been tested to support the upgrade of Windows 8. The 790 does support upgrading to Windows 8. You can also visit the below mentioned link for more help:

Before moving to windows 8, you can also run the Windows 8 Upgrade Wizard. It scans your current PC to see if it is ready for Windows 8 and provides a compatibility report and optional steps to make you buy, download and install Windows 8. • Desktop OptiPlex 9020 8.1 of Windows x 64

I just installed Windows 8.1 x 64 on an OptiPlex 9020 and had graphics using IE11 display problems using the latest drivers from Dell.  The problem was that graphics had a large "X" on the whole of the image.

I was using these drivers: Intel 9.18.10.3055 06/03/2013

Then I updated to the latest drivers Windows Dell 8: 24/06/2013 9.18.10.3220

    Display problems were still present.

I then updated the drivers to the latest Intel (15.33.8.64.3345).  You had to do since the Device Manager as Intel blocks the process of executing setup.exe.

Also after the installation of the whole machine is MUCH faster using applications.  Just thought I'd share.

Dell, ETA, when drivers will be updated on the latest platforms to desktop and laptops Dell for Windows 8.1?  I'd feel a lot more comfortable, but there was a Dell "verified" Intel video driver.

You can try with the last Win 8.1 video driver Intel for desktop Optiplex 9020 x64Bit and it is available in the link below

    Hello

I'm pointing out the CPU of my Dell Optiplex 9020 and I noticed that the temprature rises and and the fan speed remains the same.

I used a software monitoring temp to know what is the problem and you can see the main CPU temperature remains low, while the rest of them is much higher.

Also, the fan speed remains the same...

    Is this normal?

    i5 / 16GB / 500 GB/W10 with all the latest news from drivers/BIOS using Dell order Update

The fan speed when it hit 74ºC?

The fan speed has increased during the diagnostics, which should have?

You can go on the Intel site to check what are the temporary specifications for your specific CPU, if that will make feel you better. But same 74ºC seems not very hot.

If the machine came originally with Vista, and you charged it with Win 7 disc by the same manufacturer, it will go into a grace period and the non-genuine end - the key used for this installation requires data appropriate to the SLIC table in BIOS in order to activate it.

  • PXI-8360 (MXI-Express) PCI-8361 + Dell OptiPlex 9020 = "device cannot start." (Code 10) »

    Hello

I have a chassis PXI-1050, conencted to a Dell OptiPlex 9020 via a PXI-8360 and a PCI-8361 (identified as 199392B - 01L). It is Windows 7 64-bit. I can't start Windows very well, but MAX can't see all my PXI hardware. The Device Manager has also 2 inputs "PCI standard PCI to PCI bridge" with exclamation points.

I placed an old FireWire PCI card in the same dwelling and recognized PC. Thus, the slot went very well.

I transferred the PCI-8361 to an old PC that contains older drivers, and he acknowledged all my PXI hardware. For example, PXI gear works fine.

What could be the problem? Here's a screenshot of my software OR installed. I think I installed all the drivers I need. I checked NI Update Service; There is no update of Critcal, and only updates and Service Packs listed are 2013 LabVIEW and TestStand 2013.

    JKSH,

I look in that little bit more and think that I now know enough to be dangerous.

The BIOS allows the PCI Express native control mode in Windows.  PCIe natively do not like some of the architecture when you use the PCI card version, so it disables the bridges on the PXI card.  I can tell that your OS is PCIe natively because it lists one of the ports as "PCI standard PCI Express to PCI/PCI-X bridge" Device Manager like you posted.

I found that you can disable PCIe native mode, if you want to try it (but in general using the card PCIe is a better option).  Here are the steps:

-Open the start menu and type "cmd" in the search box; Right click on "cmd.exe" and run as administrator.

-In the command window, type "bcdedit/set pciexpress forcedisable.

    -Reboot.

I don't think it would break anything (it doesn't have on a system I've tried).  If you want to reverse the trend, the command is ' bcdedit/set pciexpress by default'

  • Wake on LAN doesn't work don't not on Optiplex 9020

I'm not able to get the Wake on LAN to work on an Optiplex 9020 (small footprint).  I have the following BIOS settings to the title of power management:
-Control deep sleep-> disabled - Wake on LAN-> LAN only
-Block-> block (State S3) sleep sleep

I have the following settings for the card Ethernet Intel I217-LM:
-Wake on Magic Packet from power off State-> Enabled
-Wake on magic packet - > enabled
    -Active sleep on model matching->

When the computer is turned off, the network adapter has NO of LIGHTS.  Does that mean than the Wake on LAN is not configured correctly?  Which setting I'm missing?

In case this is relevant: Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.
    Thank you.

I installed A07 and WOL works now.

  • Adding a second SSHD to an Optiplex 9020

I would like to install a second internal hard drive solid-state in an Optiplex 9020.  I don't want to use these two drives as a RAID pair.  I want a second disc to be autonomous for the storage of data.  What should I set the Bios to ATA for the second hard drive to be initilized?  I set the BIOS to AHCI and started operating system, but the second disc was not available in the directory.  I set the BIOS to ATA and Windows wouldn't start.  The warning was real.  Replace the RAID BIOS and we are at square one.  I have to leave the game of BIOS to ATA and reload the operating sysem to have two independent drives C: and D:?

    Hi Mike,.

What you need to do is to use disk management to partition the drive, then it will appear in Explorer.

    Good luck!

  • Loads of boot UEFI PXE not available on OptiPlex 9020 AIO A09 for Win7?

We prefer to use UEFI instead of legacy for our new systems mode. Previously, we were able to use the active UEFI PXE with SecureBoot disabled and ROMA Legacy boot. The service seems to come and go with each version of BIOS for the AIO 9010, and now on the 9020 AIO with A09, he went as well.

On a 9020 AIO with A09, if I enable Secure Boot and disable Legacy ROM PXE is available. If I disable SecureBoot (required for the loading of Windows 7) and allow ROMA to the legacy, it has no option to start on the network when you press F12.

Our new AIOs with BIOS A02 9030 allow us to perform a boot PXE in this way without problem, so I guess that the problem in A09 is a bug and not intentional.

    Anyone else running into this?

    @Community,

I am pleased to announce that the Optiplex 9020 AIO BIOS A11 is now available to the public. The update of the BIOS A11 has resolved a problem where in A09, the UEFI network box battery inside the BIOS would itself be clear after the release of the BIOS. This prevented the UEFI network protocols appear in the one-time boot menu.

In short: with AIO BIOS A11 9020, you can now have the legacy option ROM both the UEFI network stack activated at the same time.

For those who are not familiar with the specific screens in question, I have them listed below.

Here's the box UEFI would uncheck itself in A09:

It's the legacy ROM option checkbox:

Here's the menu starting time on the A11 with two Roma legacy option enabled and the network UEFI active stack:

The pic then the AIO 9020 had installed A09 and after trying allow the UEFI network stack. You will notice that UEFI protocols are missing because the box UEFI disables itself:

  • OptiPlex 9020 behaviour during tension (I asked a few months back, but now I see the same thing in another new machine)

I bought Optiplex 9020 MT a few months back, and last month I get another for my brother.

I noticed the strange behavior (maybe it is normal) but I want to confirm what is happening when I turn on UPS/Direct connection.

It will blink DVD, HARD drive, and when the light orange power. After that, it works fine and no problem.

Here, I have created video for that behavior so it help to what I'm trying to say.

    www.YouTube.com/watch

When you turn on the power to the inverter, the PC thinks it recovers from a power failure. So he turns himself briefly to see what it is supposed to do during a power failure recovery.

As stated in the Manual, recovery of the CA in the BIOS options are:

    • Power Off (default value)
    • Power on
    • Last power state

When the BIOS is set to default, the PC comes on, sees that it is the default and turns off again. That's why you see all the lights are flashing. It is quite normal...

If you wish, you can set the BIOS to power on so as soon as you turn on the power to the inverter, the PC will boot without having to press the power button.

To enter the BIOS to make the change, restart, and then press F2 before Windows starts to load.

  • Problem starting OptiPlex 9020

I have an optiplex 9020 having a blinking cursor for about 10 to 15 seconds before the screen startup Dell and after the Dell splash screen. I have the latest version of the BIOS and use an SSD as boot drive and SATA drive as a secondary drive, the bios is set to boot only the SSD. I have the sata AHCI operation, the value of the RAID is disabled. This is a new installation from the CD from Dell on the SSD. I looked in the bios but not see anything that would cause the problem?

Same here right out of the box.  In my case, having only the SSD in the startup list, gives "no boot device", most of the time.  Enter the BIOS, the SSD Liteon is no longer in the same list after adding it and re-record.  Update the BIOS does nothing to correct.

But hitting F12, the SSD will always be an option and when selected, always boots.  It seems to be a kind of calendar of initialization when the BIOS examines the various materials.

  • Headset Beats mixr (microphone) - desktop Optiplex 9020

    Hello everyone,

I'm trying to run this Beats mixr headset (microphone)-

-with my Optiplex 9020. This headset comes with a simple plug but works for mobile phones, like handsfree for music, Skype, etc.

I don't know if there is a chance to use it in the same way with my PC, I mean, not only for playback of the sounds, but also as a MIC for taking calls from Skype.

In fact it is quite wrong. You can use them even on the desktop PC and phone. Anyway converts be it, throughout the day.

The parties to do so are not free, but they are easy to obtain.

You need adapters to convert the Apple Iphone IPAD ports to the red and the Green PC Ports for microphone and headphones.  There are a two way conversions.  So if you have a headset with Boom microphone and want to use the phone you cable Y return to standard Apple.

If you have a standard headphone 3.5 mm T/R then you use a turtle Beach Amigo II to convert USB to PC. And reverse an adapter to convert for IPOD, IPAD, IPHONE or Android.
