Oracle support strategy is unchanged. It is a typical "typo" from people unfamiliar with this statement of support for commercialization. • How patterns Oracle 10g supports?

I am a member of a development team that wants to add a schema for each project is created in an application.
The application may have thousands of applications. So we will have to create many schemas.
    Is this a good practice?
How many diagrams can be created in Oracle 10 g? Is there a limit?

    Thank you!!!

    Felipe

    Hi Filepe,

So we will have to create many schemas. Is this a good practice?

Great question! Yes, it is a very good practice. Back before the client-server computing (and the deconsolidation of the horrible server), it was not uncommon for a large server, to dozens of database support. It is very effective, bith on s/n and the sharing of computer resources (CPU and RAM).

This is the 2nd age of mainframe computing, massive consolidation of servers. I have some good notes on that here:

    http://www.DBA-Oracle.com/t_server_deconsolidation.htm

For example, I have several clients with class servers P590 regatta (with 18 CPU and 128 GB of RAM) with more than 100 cases and the instance of consolidation was to save a small fortune.

    I hope this helps...

  • No oracle support for oracle 10g RAC on RHEL 5.3?

    Hi all
I have no oracle support. I need this information juice to my knowledge.
could you get it someone please let me know if oracle supports Oracle 10 g RAC on RHEL 5.3?
or on any version of RHEL 5.
documentation on tahiti has no mention of RHEL5.

    Thank you
    Arvind

Both Oracle 10 g 2 and 11g RAC are supported for RedHat Enterprise 5 on versions 32 and 64 bit. It's really some information that should be available outside metalink (for people like you who are not yet customers).

    Hope this has helped

  • End of the Date supported for Oracle BPM company autonomous 10gR 3

I'm running "Oracle BPM business standalone 10.3.1.0.0" and I can't find a date "end of support" for the product. I found a Metalink note that reported a 'BPM Matrix interoperability', here:

    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/BPM/documentation/obpm-config-matrix-085247.html#bpmes10301031

who shows me the interoperability information, but no end of support date. Any ideas on where I could look at?

    Thank you

You can get this if you search for "Oracle lifetime support policy" on Oracle's Web site. At the top of this page, click on "Oracle Lifetime Support Policies"--> download the "duration of life-support-middleware - 069163.pdf" and go to page 31 of this document.

The Installation Guide provides the official list. Go to http://tahiti.oracle.com, select your version and find the Setup instructions for your OS family.

  • I have a virus by Symmantec. I was called by Life Support for PC with Microsoft in order to fix the problem.

Ok. I got a virus by Symmantec.  I have phoned by Nick Life Support for PC.  They said that they have been informed of our Microsoft's IP address because we were infected and that they call to help eliminate the virus.  Is this a valid service of Microsoft?  How did get our phone at home?  Now, they have my cell phone number, too.  Please check validation.

It is a scam.  Microsoft does not offer a service like this.  For something similar, see announcement warning: hoax E-mail indicating that the network is infected-security

  • Oracle 11.2.0.1.0 not supported for planning?

I just noticed this entry in the matrix of the platform:

Oracle 11.2.0.1.0 database is supported only for: calculation Manager, EPM System Installer (requires 11.1.1.3.05), EPM Workspace, Integrator ERP, Financial Reporting (requires 11.1.1.3.28), Performance Management architect, Shared Services (requires 11.1.1.3.11)

OK, so I guess that rules out 11.2 as an RDBMS supported for Hyperion Planning 11.1.1.3? I imagine something more low, say 11.1.0.6.0 or less should not be a problem then?

Or is not officially supported, it will work very well what that means? Don't bother taking the chance, even if it's good?

Oracle 9.2.0.5 by Oracle 11.1.0.6.0 are supported.
11.2.0.1.0 not supported, it can work but use it at your own risk, because it is not currently supported.

    See you soon
