Oracle 11 GR 2 CARS + ADG + RAC one node Architecture

Hello

I would like to ask you a few tips on the following architecture if this design is possible

1. 2 node RAC on the production data center
2. A CCR on DR Datacenter node
3. DataGuard replication active between the 2 RAC and RAC node a node

It was a request by the customer, so that the installation of the RAC software on the physics of the eve instead of the usual physical standby of single instance. They do not want another node 2 CARS on the Dominican Republic.

Thank you!

Yes.

Hi all, I have a question I hope someone can help me.
We must apply Oracle RAC a node, but when I install the software of oracle 11.2.0.3 database I see two options: Oracle RAC one node and Oracle RAC, so I understand that I must select a node Oracle RAC but and also I know I can convert the RAC one node to RAC my database. But my question is what that different I have to choose RAC node or CARS in the form of installation for example other executable, etc, because I want to be sure that I won't have problems in the future. Thank you

A knot of CARS is something different with a different license than CARS. Install to that you have a license.

• FRA on NFS Oracle RAC one node

Hi all

We have installed Oracle RAC one node on Oracle Linux. Everything seems to work fine except one small thing: we try to change the database in archivelog mode, but when we try to move the database, we get ORA-19816 "WARNING: files may exist in... that are not known to the database." and "Linux-x86_64 error: 37: no available lock.

The FRA is mounted as NFS share with the following options: "rw, bg, hard, nointr, rsize is 32768, wsize = 32768, proto = tcp, noac, worms = 3, suid.

I searched a lot on the Internet but couldn't find any hint. Can someone point me to the right installation guide?

Thanks in advance

Check if service NFSLOCK works... and if not start it.

# service nfslock status

* Mounting for Oracle files options when used with NAS [359515.1 ID] devices *.
Mounting for Oracle data files options

rw,bg,hard,nointr,rsize=32768, wsize=32768,tcp,actimeo=0, vers=3,timeo=600

For games of backups RMAN, copies images and Data Pump dump files, the "NOAC" mount option should not be specified - it's because RMAN and Data Pump do not check this option and specifying this can adversely affect performance.

The following NFS options must be specified for 11.2.0.2 disc RMAN backup directory:

opts="-fstype=nfs,rsize=65536,wsize=65536,hard,actime=0,intr,nodev,nosuid"

• RAC and RAC one node licenses

I can create instances of the RAC one node so I have this option, Oracle RAC?

Hello

If you have the license Oracle RAC, it seems that you can use even for RAC one (it will be unavailable for himself).

According to the document. 220970.1

--> Assuming that the existing ELA/ULA includes Oracle RAC. The guide to licence stipulates that all licenses option Oracle RAC (no SE RAC) include all the features of Oracle RAC one node

At the same time, you may need to know information...

A CCR node is not available in SE.

for EA, cost of a CCR node will be very less than option CARS, but if you have the license BECAUSE you can use a node of RAC, but not in the opposite lane

You can also check 2078285.1

• 11g R2 and RAC one node

Hello
What is really the advantage and the difference between the RAC and RAC one node, because finally we should move to another server if an instance/node goes down.

On advice of Burleson Consulting it is said:

What makes the Oracle RAC a special knot is that it performs a quick clone of the instance to a new node.

Which for me means switch to another server in the CARS.
Thanks for the explanations.

-can easily be extended to multiple nodes.
-You can use "Oracle Restart' which automatically restarts your resources
-Suppose you have several rac installation among your unique databases, you can manage a single node as you do with the facilities of cars

• What Oracle network uses for CAR traffic? where you get the Info?

Hello

I use two-node RAC on Oracle 10 g R2 (10.2.0.3.0) version on SUN Solaris 10. I want to know "what Oracle network uses for CAR traffic? where you'll Info»

-Kumar

Hi Kumar,

In 10g, you can query x$ ksxpia. If the cluster_interconnect is stored in the OCR (by default), you will get

SQL > select INST_ID select, PUB_KSXPIA, PICKED_KSXPIA, NAME_KSXPIA, IP_KSXPIA, x$ ksxpia;

If you have specified the cluster_interconnects parameter in your init.ora:

Columns to look in: INST_ID select PICK NAME_KSXPIA IP_KSXPIA P

And also you can use 'CPI oradebug' to see who connects the database uses:

SQL > setmypid oradebug
SQL > oradebug CPI

It could be that useful...

Thank you

• Creation of a RAC 2 nodes a sauvegardΘ 4 node RAC DB database

The GI version: 11.2.0.4

OS: Oracle Linux 6.5

We have a hot of a prod DB RAC 4 nodes RMAN backup. We want to create a test of CAR 2 - node this backup DB.

I need some clarification on the treatment of Redo and UNDO tablespace online newspapers.

1. online Redo Logs : 4 CARS DB nodes has 4 wires. RMAN backup online redo logs. But the control file is aware of the 4 wires of the source DB prod.

When you restore the backup to create a database of CARS 2 nodes, how can I modify the control so that the 3 and 4 threads info is deleted?

2 CANCEL : again, the 4 CARS DB nodes has 4 UNDO tablespace specified using the parameter UNDO_TABLESPACE. The control file is aware of these 4 undo tablespace.

mhcprod1.undo_tablespace = "UNDOTBS1.

mhcprod2.undo_tablespace = "UNDOTBS2".

mhcprod3.undo_tablespace = "UNDOTBS3".

mhcprod3.undo_tablespace = "UNDOTBS4".

When you restore the backup to create a database of CARS 2 nodes, how can I change the control file so that UNDOTBS3 and UNDOTBS3 will be deleted?

-With regard to Online redo logs

Yes. Property to true. RMAN cannot back up or restore recovery online newspapers. OP already knows. They just want to know how to remove entries from the unwanted entries of Redo Log files in the control file line. The restoration and recovery is done in the State of EDITING.

After the restoration and recovery (but before OPENING), if you ask gv$ log, you will see always old REDO log configuration of the source DB. This is because Oracle does not check if the log files are actually present and simply returns all that is present in the control file.

Then, before opening the DB, you can proceed as follows to remove the entry of a group of newspapers to roll forward of the control file which you don't need.

ALTER DATABASE, DROP LOGFILE GROUP 6; ---> Belonging to the thread 3

ALTER DATABASE, DROP LOGFILE GROUP 7; ---> Belonging to thread 4

Yes. In fact, the DROP LOGFILE GROUP command is not a clause of WIRE in there. But, adds REDO LOG GROUP (see below)

ALTER DATABASE ADD LOGFILE ORCL THREAD 2 GROUP 6 ('+ DATA', '+ FRA') SIZE 500M;

-Regarding the UNDO tablespace, you should be able to fall just (not tested)

Drop TABLESPACE UNDOTBS3 including content and data files;

Drop TABLESPACE UNDOTBS4 including content and data files;

• Configuration of AppsTier (CFP, load balancing) of nodes R12 Multi with RAC 2 nodes

Dear all,

I installed and configured applications R12 with Oracle RAC 2 nodes. (APP1, DB1 and DB2).

Now, I need to add a layer of application (APP2) to configure high availability, balancing load and PCP.

So, I cloned (adcfgclone.pl appsTier) application for APP2 layer (not shared, the two file systems are different). When I run the application it doesn't knot APP2 App1, more more simultaneous manager works only on a node (can be due to APPLCSF does not point to the mounting NFS share folder), although I've defined managers primary school-children also.

If I run the autoconfiguration of APP1 application service will only work on APP1 and even if I do for APP2, then application works with APP2. I need to have configuration CFP, balancing the load (via DNS if possible) and the high availabllity for the Application tier.

When I start the application, it will start OPMN and APPS Listener on the nodes, but simultaneous manager does not start on both, to a single node.

Is this requires having both APPS name of the node is the same?

Thank you very much

Ravi,

If I run the autoconfiguration of APP1 application service will only work on APP1 and even if I do for APP2, then application works with APP2.

Most likely, it's something with the profile option values, then run utility adchkcfg to get an html report that lists all files and profile options that change when you run AutoConfig on each node.

I need to have configuration CFP, balancing the load (via DNS if possible) and the high availabllity for the Application tier.

For load balancing, you must perform the steps according to the guidelines of this document.

Note: 380489.1 - using Load-balance with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12
https://metalink2.Oracle.com/MetaLink/PLSQL/ml2_documents.showDocument?p_database_id=not&P_ID=380489.1

For the installation of the CFP, please see:

Note: 388577.1 - using Load-balance with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12
https://metalink2.Oracle.com/MetaLink/PLSQL/ml2_documents.showDocument?p_database_id=not&P_ID=388577.1

When I start the application, it will start OPMN and APPS Listener on the nodes, but simultaneous manager does not start on both, to a single node.

Any errors in the log file of CM?

Is this requires having both APPS name of the node is the same?

It is not necessary.

Kind regards
Hussein

• CARS on a single node

Hello

Once you have a second node stretch cluster at 2 knots and perhaps move the database on the other node?

or even go for complete cluster 2 nodes?

• Can I move sessions from one node to the other in Oracle 11g RAC?

Hello world

When I need a knot of closure for maintenance, I can move the sessions connected to this node to another? I know TFA, but I'm not using it right now, I just wanted to know if I can pass the sessions without warning everyone that some of them will be disconnected.

Thanks for your help.

We can move the service of database on the other node and then perform the stop utility srvctl to CCR. Be sure to check how your services switch on stop and maintenance.

You can check this: "Server Control Utility Reference".

• Connection speed slow on one node to a node RAC 2 put in place

Hi all

Having a little trouble with one of the nodes in a node 2 CARS set up
We have sent traffic directly to the node in question (using a service that runs only on node 1)

Forced connection to this node (sqlplus) since an application server remote takes 3 times as long does if we force fitting to the second node RAC.

If I try to connect locally - connection speed is instantaneous-

There is NO problem with the server performance

There is NO problem with the perfromance instance / database - it is only noticed when the initial connection

I've been in the network of the node and can see nothing wrong - so I was wondering if there was anything you guys might have experienced while the connection time is slow for a single node only (949 ms - compared to 247 ms on node 2)

If anyone out there is interested or falls on this issue

The problem has proved to be the mount point options MP Linux Volumes

I had configured them as part of best practices for RAC / NetApp / Direct NFS - hjowever I also got the binaries for both nodes in order to have greater availability.

Thereffore I would have had the Mount for NŒUD UNIQUE options.

The change was to

-stop the instance

-unmoiunt binary files

-change the following on fstab

NFS rw, bg, hard, nointr, rsize is 32768, wsize = 32768, tcp, to = 3, timeo = 600, actimeo = 0 0 0

TO

NFS rw, bg, hard, rsize = 32768, wsize = 32768, to = 3, nointr, timeo is 600, tcp

-start the instance and repeat on node 2

• Oracle XE can not build more than one database-> meaning?

Hello everyone,

I do not understand the user admin conzept in specifically in Oracle XE.

What it means if it is said:
Unfortunately, Oracle XE can not serve multiple databases? Am I not a lot of data in my Oracle XE? As:
-I can create tables in the user "admin".
-I can create tables user 'HR '.

Well, here's already 2 bases on the right?

Thanks for the explanation.

Kind regards

Please read the guide to the Concepts and the 2-day DBA guide (see doc library for your version).

Well, here's already 2 bases on the right?

N ° in terms of Oracle, these are patterns. One instance, means more than a database.

Other RDBMS can mean different things with terms such as "database".

When you start the Oracle, it is best to let you know other implementations of RDBMS at the door...
