  We use Studio R and R, and it's understandable, it does not handle large sets of data very well.

  OK - R Oracle Distribution is packaged with Oracle Linux and comes with the Big database server. Distribution R Oracle is installed on the server of database in integrated support R run using Oracle Enterprise R. Oracle supports Oracle R customer distribution Oracle Enterprise R and Big Data Appliance. Improvements are planned for the Distribution of R Oracle, so stay tuned for more information.

  It is not included in R2 PS2, it's a separate product (11.1.1.5). With R2 PS3, there is no more OIA.

  I think not - OIA with no agents / connectors. What you can be able to model the data in the LDAP protocol as a resource in OIA and run a report against that?

  We are looking for an option of implementation of Oracle advanced security option (ASO). But would like to know if its certified with EBS R12.1.1 / database 10g R2.

  Some features are available, but require to pay for a license if you use them, so check with your DBA before being the first to use one, or it could cost a lot of money.
  Same V$ OPTION lists the options that are installed, but they could not be approved.

  Oracle Enterprise Manager displays DBA_FEATURE_USAGE_STATISTICS information on the server 'Use of database feature see' page.

  Do not trust with value = TRUE in the parameter $ v as meaning that you can use a feature - you might not be allowed - but if it's WRONG you certainly cannot.

  There are 20 defined custom properties that can be displayed, so I guess you can have up to 20 custom fields. You can use alphanumeric characters with mixed case characters, but do not use any special characters. Depending on the database you are using, there are restrictions on the length of the fields as well, so it's probably good to try to stay below 64.

• Data Miner / OAA being replaced?

  I just reviewed the upcoming collaborate14.ioug.org of presentations list.

  There was nothing about Data Miner or Oracle Advanced Analytics!

  These are replaced with this new thing called "short"?

  When I filtered the sessons on data mining, it's everything that I went:

  Not at all!.  Short is a separate product from Oracle Advanced Analytics and aims 'discovery of information' if AAO focuses more predictive analytics, data mining, analysis statistics and "automated search for the knowledge of large amounts of data.

  OAA, IOUG is a great conference, but was not the best draw for our users to AAO (data analysts, analysts, etc.)  Come on people and present but not sufficient for OAA community focus.  As a result, we have been focusing more on our Oracle BIWA Summit top of BIWA, Redwood City - January 14-16, 2014 - homepage for these types of Oracle Advanced Analytics and the features of data mining and customer presentations/use cases.  At our most recent BIWA Summit 2014 which took place in January at the headquarters of the Oracle, he had a number of good Oracle Advanced Analytics, Oracle Data Miner, integration R presentations etc.  Short is also welcome to the Oracle BI, the storage and the top analytics and in fact Baljai and other presented on these topics as well.  To see what I mean, you can download the presentations in events 2014 BIWA Summit BIWA Summit, Redwood City - January 14-16, 2014 - BIWA Summit 2014 and 2013 BIWA Summit BIWA Summit, Redwood City - January 14-16, 2014 - BIWA Summit 2013 .

  I noticed that all the new oracle advanced analytical 12 c docs now display new minor nodes of data for graphs, SQL & R scripts, etc..  This requires DB version 12 c, a new version of SQLDeveloper (forthcoming), or both?

  RODMAN is a package open source. It is available on the NOTCH. It uses RODBC to connect to the database. You only need on you client computer (both R and RODM). The server must only have ODM (what is now called Oracle Advanced Analytics) option turned on (which is by default I think).

  Another option is to use Oracle R Enterprise (ore), which is also part of the AIO option. Version 1.3 has an OREdm package with an interface more transparent. For customers of the AAO OREdm is a package of support while RODMAN is not. ORE is available for download on OTN.

  The license is only a software use agreement (option) between you (your company) and Oracle Corp. based on a contract. Nothing to update server (except if additional option has bee installed). Please, check your license with your representative information sale local Oracle.
