Hi Experts,

-Public

Configured before installation for each node and can be resolved at this node before installing.
Role:
Enable Virtual/SCAN configuration/communication between the nodes in the cluster. Do not start the Clusterware without public IP Interface/address.
Virtual/SCAN will work as an alias IP on the public Interface on the Public network.

-Private or interconnection

Configured before installation, but on a separate private network, with its own subnet, which is not resolved except by other nodes in the cluster member
Role:
Clusterware uses for cluster synchronization (network heartbeat) interconnection and communication of demon among the nodes in the cluster.
RAC uses the interconnect for cache fusion (UDP) and inter-process communication (TCP).
Cache Fusion is the remote Oracle buffers, shared memory mapping between the caches of the members of the cluster nodes.

-Virtual

Configured before installation for each node, but not currently in use. IP, VIP and treats public SCAN addresses than any other addresses on the same subnet.
Role:
The goal is the availability of the applications. If add or remove nodes as your remove VIP client config (with SCAN, it is not necessary)
When a node fails, the VIP associated with it is automatically failed over to another node.
Without using VIPs or FAN, clients connected to a node who died often wait a TCP timeout (which can be up to 10 min) before getting an error.
So, you don't have really a good HA solution without using VIPs and FAN. The best way to use the FAN is to use a client integrated with fast connection failover (FCF) such as JDBC, OCI, or ODP.NET.

-SCAN

Three static IP addresses that are configured on the server (DNS) domain names prior to installation so that the three IP addresses are associated with the name provided as the SCAN, and all three addresses are returned in random order by the DNS to the applicant
Configured prior to installation in the DNS to resolve the addresses that are not currently in use. Addresses on the same subnet than all other IP addresses, addresses VIP and public SCAN
Role:
The goal is the availability of the applications before clients establish communication with CARS and make the whole of the Cluster completely transparent.
IP SCANNER is a new 'layer' (oracle) with high availability network that allows to modify the characteristics of your cluster (IE add/remove nodes) without having to change the configuration in their concept of customers 'grid '.
>

2. What is the relationship between IP SCAN and virtual IPs?

IP SCANNER is used to receive new connection requests and redirects to the VIP IP.
The virtual IP address sets and allow failover of connections after connection is established.

When the client requests a connection, Oracle Client 11 GR 2 find for IP addresses and create a list of all IP SCAN available for this host-scan, the first attempt to connect to RAC uses one of the available SCAN IP addresses.
The listener ANALYSIS will receive this connection and re - direct to one of the available using LOCAL_LISTENER nodes from that time the connection is made by using the virtual IP (VIP).

All SCAN/VIP must be resolved by the DNS.

The customer knows that there is only the Hostname SCAN, which is configured in the connection string.
Once the connection is requested Oracle Clusterware redirects the connection to one of the VIP host name must be resolved by the DNS.

Kind regards
Levi Pereira

    The course I did for the OCP certification in Oracle Database 11 g does not appear on the view list of courses on the pearson Web site, I sent an email to [email protected] < deleted by the moderator e-mail address > , no response within 7 days since 01/28/2015, enamel is lower, the title of my course is in Portuguese.  What should I do in this case?

    Dear Oracle.

    I send you this mail because recently I passed the exam 1Z0-053-Oracle Database 11 g: Administration II, which is the last review necessary to acquire the OCP Certification. However, in the path to certification, I need to prove that I participated in an official Oracle training.

    Research for the course on the site to view pearson, I did find the name of course on the list. So I'm sending you this email with the courses required for certification information. I attended the course at FIAP College (http://www.fiap.com.br/en/conheca-a-fiap/parcerias-estrategicas/), in the city of São Paulo (Brazil) of March, 2010 until March 2011. The above link is possible to check that the University is a partner of Oracle. The title I had was "Graduate in Oracle Database Management".

    In this e-mail, I have attached a copy of the certified course FIAP (front.jpg, certificate Back). I also send my profile data in the site view pearson (Pearson VIEW - my profile.pdf) and my scores on tests for certification of OCP (1Z0 - 051.pdf, 1Z0 - 052.pdf, 1Z0 - 053.pdf).

    If you need additional information just let me know and I'll give you.

    Please acknowledge this information and give me the OCP certification (Oracle Database 11g Administrator Certified Professional).

    Kind regards.

    I did this way, because the https://education.oracle.com/pls/eval-eddap-dcd/OU_SUPPORT_OCP.home?p_source=OCP link has not worked, I sent my class even without knowing if it will be accepted, so I exchanged a few emails and my journey has been accepting.

    Krish,
    It is a good question to send to [email protected]. This course is not currently on the approved list, but perhaps it should be evaluated for approval. Please send this team and they will be able to help.

    Can someone tell me please in the right direction?

    Took forever (it's really the first time I use Oracle, no knowledge of database), but I finally got it to work, so I'll mention it right here for others to take advantage if all goes well. As I am new, some of these steps might not even be necessary, I'm not sure

    Turns, even if I have included diagrams of the sample in the installation, the only installed pattern was the Scott schema. Unfortunately, that was not the HR schema.

    You will need to download the examples of schema file and install it.

    Then follow step 1 in the following post:

    https://community.Oracle.com/message/11234394#11234394

    Who said you have to understand an Earphone for your PDB (not the PEH).

    So just add another entry for your PDB if you do not already have one in /u01/app/oracle/product/12.1.0/dbhome_1/network/admin/tnsnames.ora #note: directory names different. Mine was too

    Important part is the (SERVICE_NAME = pdborcl) or what is called your PDB.

    Stop and start the listener:

    lsnrctl stop $

    lsnrctl start $

    Follow step 2 in the same post above to change the script of human resources which should be /u01/app/oracle/product/12.1.0/dbhome_1/demo/schema/human_resources/hr_main.sql

    Or, just manually change the following lines in "BOLD". In the following example I changed it to my PDB called pdbtvts:

    REM =======================================================

    Grants of REM of the sys schema

    REM =======================================================

    CONNECT sys/&pass_sys@pdbtvts AS SYSDBA;

    REM =======================================================

    REM create schema hr objects

    REM =======================================================

    CONNECT hr/&pass@pdbtvts

    Then, it is important that YOU do activate HR user having limited SESSION, otherwise you won't be able to connect. This happened to me.

    Thus, under where the user hr has permission (over these lines, us has just edit), add the line in bold below:

    GIVING CREATE SESSION, CREATE VIEW, ALTER SESSION, CREATE the SEQUENCE at the time;

    GRANT CREATE SYNONYM, CREATE DATABASE LINK, RESOURCE, UNLIMITED TABLESPACE to the hour;

    GRANT RESTRICTED SESSION on time;

    Now, you need to connect to your PDB. Connect as sysdba as usual, which by default connects you to your PIC.

    $ sqlplus / as sysdba

    You can see that you are connected to your PIC if you issue 'show con_name '.

    SQL > show con_name

    CON_NAME

    ------------------------------

    CBD$ ROOT

    Connect to your PDB by using the following command "connect sys/XXXXX@pdbtvts as sysdba" where XXXXX is your SYS password

    You must be connected to your PDB now.

    SQL > show con_name

    CON_NAME

    ------------------------------

    PDBTVTS

    Now, run the script:

    SQL > @?/demo/schema/human_resources/hr_main.sql

    You will be guests 5 things

    1 hr user password - enter a password

    2. name of the default tablespace - type "users."

    3. temporary with name - type "temp".

    4 SYS password - type your real password SYS

    5. connect directory - type in " $ORACLE_HOME /demo/schema/log/ "

    If all goes well, you will get:

    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

    Make sure you have things:

    SQL > select * from hr.employees;

    Really hope it works for you as it did for me. Here everything was simple for beginners luck.

  • What do I need install Oracle Database 11 g 2 for the Oracle 10 g database migration?

    Hi all

    Would you be kind enough to help me with the following question!  I currently have Oracle Database 10 g on the old servers to my work and I want to install the GR 11, 2 on Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Oracle database to new servers for upgrade.  I also forms, reports and Designer 10 g to maintain our existing applications.  So, I already looked in the Certification and found the following:

    Latest version of the product: latest version of the database server window weblogic

    Form Builder 11.1.2.0.0 11.2.0.4.0 7, 2008 R2, 2008 10.3.6.0.0

    Reports           11.1.2.0.0                                           11.2.0.4.0                                                 7, 2008 R2, 2008                                   10.3.6.0.0

    Designer 10.1.2.6.0 11.2.0.1.0 xp, vista, 7, 2003 (all 32 bit)

    For Designer, it is approved for a 32 - bit window, so I'm having trouble with the new requirement of system this window must be after 2003.  I want to take all of the availability and follow the Oracle certification (except that I will be given Designer because of compliance) as above.  I'm new with Oracle, and I don't know what comes with what to do it is complete.

    1. I'm going to install a database server (free 11.2.0.4.0 as described above) in a new server (2008 R2), then what I have to install the WebLogic Server with it?

    2. I'll install the generator of reports and Forms Builder (11.1.2.0.0) in another server (2008R2), so what I have to install WebLogic Server as well with her?

    3. what else do I need to install on this two server so that they work so that I can begin to migrate all existing data, forms and States more?

    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

    Remember that this forum is targeted to the Oracle Forms product, for questions about the database can be better answered in one of the areas of database.  That being said, here are my comments:

    1 I'll install a database server (version 11.2.0.4.0 as described above) in a new server (2008 R2), then what I have to install the WebLogic Server with it?

    A database facility didn't need of WLS (which I am aware). Consider what you want is a typical design at three levels. Database - average level (applications server) - Client (tools and end user).   Each level has nothing to do with the other installation point of view assuming that they are not installed on the same computer. WLS is a middleware software (medium level). Be sure to check the product documentation before performing any installation. The 11.2 DB docs can be found here:

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/index.htm

    2. I will install Forms Builder and Report Builder (11.1.2.0.0) in another server (2008R2), so what I have to install WebLogic Server as well with it?

    Tools (Forms Builder, generator of reports, etc.) are not remote or web tools.  These must be installed on each developer's computer.  The installation of these tools does not require that WLS be installed first (on the developer's computer), but there is no need to be run unless the developer wants to apply locally for testing.  For a production deployment (multi-user), a similar concept will be used.  WLS will be installed first, followed by the forms and reports Services (runtime).  It will be on your remote server (medium level).  Software distribution you use will be exactly the same for the developer and the installation of intermediate level.  The difference will be in the options you choose during installation.  If you want to include manufacturers during installation, simply check the appropriate boxes when you are prompted.

    Also, if you plan to use the forms/States 11 GR 2, I recommend not using 11.1.2.0 and instead use 11.1.2.2, which is the latest version. F/R 11.1.2.2 installation requires that you first install WLS 10.3.6.  You should refer to the product documentation before beginning any installation. Specifically, carefully examine the product Setup Guide and Guide to the system requirements. The 11.1.2.2 doc library can be found here:

    3 what else do I need to install on this two server so that they work so that I can begin to migrate all the existing data, forms and States on?

    Looks like you've covered everything.  The granular details will be covered in the Installation and Guides to the system requirements.

    My recommendations:

    o ensure that each machine has at least 4gig of RAM

    o ensure that each machine has a static IP address before you start any part of the installation.  This can be done without a static IP address, but you must take additional steps (see Guide to Sys Req).

    o on machines where you plan to install WLS, make sure you have a 64 bit JDK installed first.  If you don't use a F/R 11.1.2.2, you must use Java 6.  However, if you decide to use 11.1.2.2, you can use Java 6 or 7.  Do not use Java 8 in all cases.

    When it comes to the designer, it must be installed on an old machine.  In General, I do not recommend to use it longer.  Although there is currently not a way to full migration out of it, you can use SQL Developer to manage the db objects that were created/used with it.  There are several MyOracleSupport documents that discuss the issue.  You can search the Knowledge Base of MOS to find or contact Support for more information.

  • ShadowProtect backup Oracle databases

    Hi all

    I would like to hear from someone if you use ShadowProtect to backup your Oracle databases.
    What are your experiences and the advantages and disadvantages in using ShadowProtect like the one and only tools to backup and restore for Oracle databases?
    Can the potential of ShadowProtect replaces it commonly use Oracle backup/restore tools?

    The reason why I bring this up is because my boss has the idea that ShadowProtect is THE best backup and restore tools. Personally I don't think, because there may be cases where we only need to recover the database and not the whole OS. So need to hear more from you guys.

    Thank you.

    Given the complexity of the backup and recovery of an Oracle database, I wouldn't trust anything, but the solution of the Oracle, rman. BTW, you already paid for rman. BTW, I've been known to quietly to apply my own backups rman, then let the solution of "business" save my rman backups. When feces enter the ventilation system, your final responsibility go/no-go is to recover this database. And 'they' (management, storage management team, anyone) will never accept that their backup solution has been insufficient or fatally defective.

  • application of odbc within an oracle database

    Is it possible to query using an external odbc link within an oracle database?

    I have an odbc link to our accounts package and questioning the limits of credit etc. then return the value to my current database

    for example, select the columns of odbcsn.tablename where condition

    ngac_uk wrote:

    Yes, but this requires:
    (a) ODBC Manager on the Oracle Server
    (b) relevant ODBC driver on the Oracle Server
    (c) odbc.ini defining the DSN in the o/s oracle account
    (d) the configuration of the server heterogeneous oracle DSN for in + $ORACLE_HOME +.
    (e) the listener on this server to support the definition of heterogeneous server (HS)
    (f) Finally, a link of database using this definition HS

    Nothing to do with the SQL or PL/SQL languages - the theme of this forum.

  • Run ODI Interfaces of Oracle database

    Hi all

    Can we run the ODI interfaces of Oracle database even we execute mappings OWB database by creating a Proc Storeed and passing the name of mapping for execution.

    Thank you and best regards,
    Ankit

    Can we run the ODI interfaces of Oracle database even we execute mappings OWB database by creating a Proc Storeed and passing the name of mapping for execution.

    There is a fundamental difference between generated code OWB and ODI code generated.
    OWB especially generates control loaded package files or sql oracle wchich can easily be called from a Proc Storeed.

    But in the case of ODI, the final product is XML scenario file IE. All information related to the interface/procedure/package etc are scattered through various repository table and it is very difficult to write a Proc Storeed and connect inter between these tables.

    ODI scenario can be called from the rinse command prompt supplied ODI startscen.bat/sh utility
    http://gerardnico.com/doc/ODI/Webhelp/en/UserManual/agent/scenario_os.htm

    Now, you can also run a script shell to a PL/SQL procedure
    http://www.DBA-Oracle.com/t_execute_shell_script_plsql_procedure.htm

    So considering the above 2 pints, you can run the ODI iscenario of Oracle database, but it will be different from the way in which you are mapping OWB execution.

    Thank you

  • Create the connection to the Oracle database

    How do I create oracle database connection using flex.

    Please mention all necessary codewise and sage (for flex as well as Oracle9i) configuration

    Thanks in advance.

    VjFlex,

    looking at your line of code

    url="DataConn.php?lal='sds'"

    I would not have thought you need them ' brands around sds. Unless your php code is something dindane special to manipulate, you would put normally just lal = sds and everything would be fine.

    You also say "Please pass the asp.net code, you did to do the same thing. Of course, I can't at the moment past on the actual code but the principles are the following (I use c# in ASP.NET as language server-side in this case and SQL server in the database and did not show the string for connection etc - you already know how to do as your database)

    sql_call = "select top 10 t1.a, t2.b, t2.c from t1, t2 where t1.id=t2.id order by a";sql_server_command = new SqlCommand(sql_call, sql_server_connection);sql_server_command.CommandType = CommandType.Text;sql_server_data_adapter = new SqlDataAdapter(sql_server_command);dataset = new DataSet();sql_server_data_adapter.Fill(dataset);datatable = dataset.Tables[0];call_encoded = "";for (int i = 0; i < datatable.Rows.Count; i++)  {    data_record = "" +      "" + datatable.Rows[i][0].ToString() + "" +      "" + datatable.Rows[i][1].ToString() + "" +      "" + datatable.Rows[i][2].ToString() + "" +      "";    call_encoded += data_record;  } // for icall_encoded += "";return call_encoded;

    Hope that helps. You can see that the returned table is converted into XML so that once back in Flex, it can be easily managed.

  • Oracle Database 10 G R2 upgrade to 11G R2

    Hello all,.
    I sat down with a particular situation, and hoped some tips.
    I currently supports Oracle 10 G R2 installation with one of my clients. It runs on Red Hat Linux. I struggle a bit with the environment as my only customer commissions Linux environment without an X environment. Having said all that, it is my preference to upgrade the databases and the schema, I to 11G and put them under Windows purely because it opens the personnel of non-Unix administration. Applications that use the Oracle DBs are not very critical missions or strong intensity of resources so the loss of performance by moving to Windows is not an important factor (although all comments on this approach, we read with interest).

    So to cut a long story, which would be my easiest upgrade option? I have master them Oracle (read: "a lot of tinkering but no training").

    Any thoughts or advice?

    TIA
    Warren
