How to install Oracle RAC using GR 11, 2 on Win 7 32 bit from scratch?

HIII,

I am a cool and I have a win 7 32 bit with oracle 11 g 2 system.

I want to install RAC with two servers or more, but I don't know too much about.

I tried searching on google but all they give information into pieces (for win 7) or Linux on (please tell me why its all Linux everywhere not Windows).

Please let me know if there is a site where I can find installation step by step from scratch.

What are the basic requirements (/ software if necessary).

Thank you.

Hello

Firstly forget Windows! Oracle is mainly designed for Linux systems. Oracle as a true process runs multiple on the Linux machines while under Windows, it runs as a single process with multi-thread.

Using memory - huge pages, single CPU run queue, drop-outs, storage... etc are a lot of concepts.

Also Windows is one of the most poorly designed operating systems, you must use only for watching movies of cute kitten on youtube... Believe me, you don't want to learn Oracle on Windows...

Install virtualbox and then configure Oracle Enterprise Linux on it at first... By the way you have to deal with the DNS server of version 11.X, RAC, you can start with 10g for now.

ORACLE-BASE has all the installation steps explained detailly, search for "oracle rac install base" on google.

I also explained on my blog, but it is a little more advanced installation by using the ZFS storage Simulator. The DNS server installation is also explained: http://ilkertaysi.com/2013/11/11/oracle-rac-installation-with-zfs-storage/

First of all, there is no need to relocate the jdk system. Part of your problem is more likely the result of a known limit which is caused by the system path or the CLASSPATH containing special characters like the parentheses in (x 86). So, follow these steps:

Before you begin, make sure that your computer has a static IP address. If it is not the case, you need to install the loopback adapter Windows. For more details, read the Setup Guide and system requirements.

    1. clean your installation attempts failed. Don't forget to also delete the folder C:\bea assuming that no other product does WLS.

2 uninstall the 64-bit jdk and reinstall where you prefer. I would recommend its default location.

3 log in Notepad and let it open as a place of detention to paste the following information.

    4. open system properties. Computer > right click > properties > Advanced System Properties > Environment Variables

    5. search for the path in the system variables and values cut into the Clipboard and paste them into Notepad session, that you opened above. Save this information for later.

    6. in the value of path, he has defined as follows, make sure the path to the jdk is correct for your installation:

    % SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;%SYSTEMROOT%; C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_37\bin

    7. you need the 'generic' WLS download if you plan to run 64-bit. It is a jar instead of an exe file. Assuming you are using WLS 10.3.6, open a DOS window and start Setup as follows:
    java-jar C:\PathToJar\wls1036_generic.jar

After completing the installation of WLS and FMw installation and configuration, you can reset your WAY to the way you want to.

The verbal and demo explanation does not use the original location/Oracle HOme of the previously
installed for the binary PFRD base.   It probably should.

In addition, for some steps to follow to patch binaries PFRD, I'd put it:

Step 4.  I am guessing that the patch will establish an another sub dir Disk1 and don't want to overwright
installation of the initial PFRD, therefore, moves the Group of hotfixes as follows.

    CD/opt/web/install/PortalUpgradeAdvisor/pfrd
    960 ls - ltr
    Group of hotfixes mkdir 961
    Group patches 962 mv p11060983_111140_LINUX.zip
    Group patches 963 cd.
    Unzip 964 *.

RE: of course, having unpacked the group created patches another subdirectory Disk1 with his own runInstaller
    VNC gui:

I guess, all we are doing is patching of binary files, nothing should be running.
Maybe an environment set in same, as when we ran last the PFRD install, however.  There we / I had
run. / set_mid_clean after making sure the files property was oracle: oracle.

    Yes, VNC gui and
    / opt/Web/Install/PortalUpgradeAdvisor/pfrd/Patchset/disk1
    . / runInstaller

Here again, we select Install Software - is not configured
RE: Get the message again on this screen "installs the software only. After said is finished, use
config.sh at ORACLE bin directory to configure the working bodies of these components installed.

Specify the installation location.  Always to
    Oracle Middleware homepage: / opt/oracle/Middleware
    and
An Oracle home directory: as_2 # I bet it must be as_1 because that is where the initial PFRD install binary files has occurred.

NOTE: The summary of the Installation in the video screen escape the Oracle Home is the previous specified during the initial installation. That is to say. PFRD_Binaries.   I guess I should have named that instead of taking the default as_1. At least I would have to have done that.  Well.  Maybe this story might help the next guy.

    Also

NOTE: The Installation screen is not "from" group of patches as in the video where it says
Install Oracle Portal, forms, reports, and discover the Group of hotfixes.

    Hi Charlie
I'm a little confused by this feedback. Especially when you say that you see the option "install - do not configure. Should this option is visible only when you run the Basic 11.1.1.2 PFRD the software installer. The Group of hotfixes 11.1.1.4 has his own 'runInstaller'... and this will display what you see in the viewlet. You definitely run the installer from the directory of stage in the Group of hotfixes? (I'll do my own validation test - if I find something strange going on... I'll report.)

I now take the following action

    1. I will put the Viewlet so it is clear that the Group of hotfixes is staged in a different place from the base 11.1.1.2 media
    2. provide that nothing must be running (because at this point, no instance of 11 g of construction has been configured)
    3. There's a "slippage" that illustrates the Middleware and Oracle Home entries in the screen "Location of Installation to specify" IE

    Middleware homepage: / u01/alca_portal/middleware
    Oracle home: PFRD_Binaries

However, you will see that this slide for 2 seconds (which is an error) and if you miss it probably.

Just FYI - the House of Oracle 11 g correction is in general the same procedure as patching a mid-layer House AS10g i.e

-You set the Oracle Home base using the installation of the basic software program
-You patch the Oracle home using the installation program of the Group of hotfixes

Or something about this discoverer is and if it comes by default with the installation.

First, as discussed in another thread, I plan to reformulate the wording of this step... so thanks again for your comments.

Note on this question / comment

"To understand at the time where we upgrade repository portal.  In my opinion, who runs the configuration wizard PFRD is that fact for us.  I will go through the video.    And me who runs the IDM upgrades OID configuration wizard. »

PFRD Configuration Wizard does not upgrades the repository of the portal, it creates just a portal 11g AS Instance against the repository Portal 10g's existing. The Upgrade Wizard upgrades site two-step

1 put Update Wizard (option "upgrade intermediate level Instance") upgrades 11 g base instance configuration so that it matches the source portal AS10g instance configuration

2 Upgrade Wizard (option "Upgrade the repository in metadata schemas") upgrades the repository Portal 10 g.

It's a similar story for instant messaging, only the IM Upgrade Wizard upgrades the configuration file system and the GI database schemas in a go (IE there is no upgrade wizard option separated to "Upgrade the repository in metadata schemas")

I think that the Viewlet created the PFRD and IDM Upgrade Guides whether clear.

  • Installing Oracle RAC: Unix, Windows ASM nodes

I have a question about the Oracle RAC configuration. I never did no prior installation RAC or ASM. Maybe a stupid question to some of you.

Is it possible to install Oracle RAC with following options?

2 node RAC with Sun Solaris
Shared storage using ASM in Windows server

Any additional information you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

In very simple terms, when using ASM, database server process read the CRUDE device and process DBWR write devices ROUGH containing tablespace information. With ASM, these processes simply ask ASM 'where the disk read/write. Therefore, ASM provides simply a "table of contents". (It is much more than that, but this seems to be a good way to start the discussion.)

ASM MUST run on the same computer as the database instance that is to use it.

In your scenario, the Windows computer may be Server iSCSI providing raw devices to Solaris machines. These devices would then be managed by ASM and reading/praav1s directly by database processes.

I have a HP Compaq 6715 b Vista Business. I don't have an option to delete my partition and create a new one. I don't have the possibility to choose 32-bit or 64-bit. I had the opportunity to choose 32-bit or 64-bit on the initial installation when I it unboxed and put in place.  How can I get to the screen that allows me to choose between 32-bit or 64-bit?

    Help, please. Thank you.

    Hi, Jimmy:

I don't know the answer to this question, but if you live in the USA/Canada, you can order a set of Vista recovery disks and you should get a 32 and 64 bit DVD so much software.

Call HP at 1-800-334-5144 and ask to order a set of recovery DVD.  Be sure to let you know you want the 64-bit disk (but I think you get to the time in any case).

    It costs $10.00 per post.

    Thanks for the tips

    Hello

A CCR node does not mean that you install the grid infrastructure in a single node and install a base of a RAC data on this node.

Basically, a concept CAR is similar to active passive clustering to provide high availability. To have a node database RAC upward and launched, you will have to install clusterware on at least two server by selecting the option during the installation of the IM.

Pls follow the below post for detailed answer

You can install in any desired point of installation/directory. Oracle does not give a flying fig this topic. Just put it somewhere that makes sense.
