OS install on a newly partitioned hard disk

Impossible to run check twilight or the restore of the system on G72 so I partitioned the hard drive and you want to now, either use the media recovery discs that came with it or the restore disc, that I created to load an operating system on the newly partitioned and formatted the disc newly partitioned for mistakes that found nothing checked.
If I put the windows7 media recovery disk in the cd drive I have will be an option for which they charge?
When I put it trying to fix the original C drive problem I got the error message unsupported.
Any help is appreciated

Only if the recovery disks offer the possibility of a resumption of selective or reduced (OS only), which most of them don't.

I have no idea if all of your laptop or not.

    That is the problem.

A friend with a Toshiba laptop (do not know the model right, but probably with win7 - 6 month old machine) has a problem with the internal hard drive.
He crashed and his does not work.

It has the toshiba recovery CD and an external hard drive.
Is it possible for him to install win 7 on the external hard drive?

(the easy medium woyld be buying a new in-house but for the next 2 months because of his work that it is impossible).

    Hello

I don t think that it would be possible to install the Windows 7 external HARD disk.
You should replace the internal HARD disk and should put the new HARD drive in the laptop.
Then you should be able to install Windows 7 on the new HARD disc.

    Good luck

  • Why does windows partition hard disk of 500 GB so that 60 GB fills the drive c, then d ' drive is empty (295 GB free)?

    Original title: hard drive partition

Why does windows partition hard disk of 500 GB so that 60 GB fills the drive c, then d ' drive is empty (295 GB free)?

It depends entirely on the Installer Windows at your partition layout described no.1 is not standard.

By default on a totally blank disk Windows 7 installation will create two partitions. A system reservedMB 100 partition which will not have any drive letter and is not normally visible on computer. The rest of the disk will be the operating system.

Your drive C is 60GB because someone chose her for this size. It seems that if the computer has been upgraded, 60 GB would have been appropriate for Windows XP.

  • Installation of Windows 7 spans two completely separte not partitioned hard disk. How moving to a disk?

I have two separate completely from the hard drive. It is 288 GB and the other news is 1 TB.  When I installed Windows 7 Ultimate, for some reason any, it has partially installed on both drives at the same time.  I tried to reformat the hard drive of 288 GB, but can only a part of the Windows installation on this disk! How can question, I put it completely on a hard drive in Windows 7?  I know what is happening, because when I unplug a hdd, leaving a connected, it does not start upward because he needs a startup disc.  Other, similarly, said that the part of the windows installation is not available because there was a change of hard disk.  So, how I move everything that is on one of the disks to consolidate in the first hard drive?

I unplug the 1 TB hard drive, then try to install the disk of 288 GB. Then you can attach the 1 TB of disk after installation.

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:

The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

  • How to restore a previous backup on a new install of XP Pro and HARD disk?

I have experienced HARD drive failure last week and has spent a lot of time trying to retrieve the data. I have a previous backup on an external drive, but when I try to restore the files to a new HARD disk with a new installation of XP Pro - files copy them all, but none of the programs or features network work?

I was going to just to reinstall everything from scratch and just use the recovered data and log files after all the programs I use for my business back... Is there an easier way? Why Windows does not support a backup feature when it does not replicate the system on a new HARD drive correctly or I do something wrong? I can access is no longer the disc HARD death after that I got everything I could out of it (2 x backup and a copy of all important files) before it just completely fried.

I bought a new HARD drive and installed XP then tried restoring the system to a new HARD disk and all the files are there, but not where they all should be (My Documents is empty and aka 'Of Joe Documents' are stored in a separate folder elsewhere in the new HARD drive) and none of my programs work properly - my antivirus software (CA Security Suite 2009) is , but continues to tell me that none of this is installed. Microsoft Office does not work - tells me that it's just a trial - and Outlook will not retrieve my emails, Outlook looks like not even the same. None of my networks will work with other office machines, but somehow, I have access to the internet through the network...!

I have to format the new HARD drive in the same directory that the backup was of? (he's currently: / instead of C: / for some reason any) And the name of the account PC should be accurate? (he is currently Documents of Pete Peter's Documents instead).

I feel blurred by microsoft because I myself prepared for something as it happens and now my company is still paralyzed because the backup does not restore the functionality of my system. Please tell me if I did something wrong and I don't have to buy all my software licenses again after reinstalling ALL my software that has already been restored from a backup. I spent the last few days to Google search without result.

  • Expand or move the virtual machine to another partition / hard disk

I tried to expand my 90 GB disk but nothing changes, i.e. the virtual machine is still to 60 GB. I have VMware Fusion 6 (Mac/Windows 10) and my VM is monolithic mode. In this true HD, I even 50 GB free and I can't increase the amount again in an attempt to rectify this problem and I can not to decrease either. I thought to change the location of the virtual machine to another partition/hd with more space, but I don't know how. So I need little help to choose and implements one of the solutions below:

    - or regularise space for the new amount

    - or move the virtual machine (vmdk) to an another partition/HD

    - or to convert monolithic mode to 2 GB split

    What is the best solution?

    Thanks in advance

    It's help me;

Resize a Windows Partition with disk management tool

When you maximize your virtual hard disk, you must also expand partition of your guest operating system to take advantage of the extra space.

Fusion resizes the partition of the guest operating system when you resize the virtual hard disk. If you hold the Option key when you click apply to resize the drive, you can manually resize the Windows partition. For Windows 8, Windows 7 and Windows Vista you can use the operating system's disk management tool to resize a partition.

    Prerequisites

Check that your virtual hard disk is large enough to accept the increase in the size of the partition. See resize a hard disk.

    Procedure

1 right click on computer and select Manage.

    2. double-click on storage.

    3 double-click disk management.

4 in the list, right click on the partition to expand and select Extend the Volume.

5 follow the prompts to resize the partition and click complete and the question of the partition in the disk management pane displays its new size.

    6. close the computer management window

Who told you that you can install the image of the HARD drive recovery?
In s user guides document is clearly described how recovery your machine and it is written that you must create recovery DVDs.

Anyway, a long time ago, I saw a thread interesting any similar problem. I n t have the time to search now, but you can use the advanced search option and try to find it. I think it must be somewhere in the forum of recovery category options.

  • DVD cannot install on Mac to format hard disk [using a case-sensitive file system]

This morning I received my DVD with Lightroom 6 Win/Mac. I have inserted in my drive superdrive. But: Installation on my MacBookPro was denied, reason: my hard drive format is supported by the use of small and capital letters - which is the way normal for MacOs and necessary for backup with TimeMachine. What is the use of a Mac-DVD which can not be installed on a Mac? Something must be wrong here. Would be very grateful for help.

'Standard' OS X file system is not case sensitive. Although you can use upper and lowercase in a filename to the extent where the system is concerned 'Filename' and 'filename' are the same. So if you try to copy files with the same name regardless of the case so the copy will result in a dialog box asking if you want to replace a file of the same name.

I guess in your case, your disks have been formatted with case-sensitive file system, and you should generally refrain from using a file system case-insensitive with OS X.

  • LabVIEW RT 8.5 puts a limit on the FAT32 partition / hard disk size?

    Hi Reevem,

I did some research on this problem and I believe that 8.5 real-time will not have a problem with larger hard drives. However, you will need to use a 3rd party utlity like our time format disc formatter and Microsoft, will limit the size of partition of 32 GB.

It is also mentioned here that the real-time does not work with a hard drive that is larger than 128 GB. So, I would recommend a smaller drive to 128 GB.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you very much
