OSPF load balancing

Hello

Does anyone know how to deploy load balancing in OSPF area 0?

Any suggestion for documentation would be apreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help

Hello

OSPF is only the equal cost load balancing, so you must have two channels with equal to the destination charges.

This command must also be set to more than one:

maximum-paths

under router ospf configuration.

I think you also need ip cef enabled.

See this link for more information:

    Hello

I read the balance a route via OSPF equal cost load the PIX. It will send packages via per package, or is there another method for distibuting the traffic to the break following equal cost?

    Hello Lawrence,.

PIX 6.3 now supports the NLB using OSPF only (up to 3 default routes)

The PIX can receive up to 3 doors by default (all the same metric) 3 different routes of entry, and

balance the load on a per destination basis. Currently, there is no way the PIX to

determine which carries a package will be sent to. You cannot currently use static routes

    for load balancing.

The used hash algorithm is not simple, it is very difficult to determine which

Route (next hop) a package will be given an IP Source and Destination pair. Basically,.

the PIX takes the source and destination IPs (two 32-bit numbers) and axe in one

16-bit unique number. Then the number of 16-bit (0x0000 - 0xFFFF) is divided into thirds.

The first 1/3 goes to the door of entry 1, the next 1/3 goes to the door of entry 2, and the last 1/3 goes to

    Gateway 3.

I hope this helps! If Yes, please rate.

  • PIX OSPF question load balancing

I have a pix 515e with two default routes, via OSPF from two routers on the "outside" interface

Route #2 is currently being preferred spending much more than the #1 router. There are thousands of destinations for traffic. These two routers are still NAT nat rfc1918 IP Internet (the pix doesn't nat)

Can you get it someone please let me know how the PIX is load balancing? is it by destination IP address? is it something else?

  • OSPF and balancing

    Hi all

I have 2 - E1 links from place A to place b. I am running OSPF in the network.

For both the serial interface, I gave cost ospf as 100.

How can I configure loadbalancing over links series that takes place in OSPF?

Is - is my setup load balancing?

How to verify that OSPF is loadbalancing links?

    Hello

You need not specifically configure OSPF to balance the load too long that the two links have the same administrative distance then your peer routers will learn the same routing information from two different IP addresses that are the opposite of your E1 links.

To check if you are balancing you can use 'show ip route '.

The following example uses EIGRP but this will output similar to OSPF with different codes and distance from the admin:

    D [90/289536] 192.168.72.0/24 through 10.48.1.2, 1w2d, FastEthernet4/1/1

    [90/289536] through 10.48.1.6, 1w2d, FastEthernet0/1/1

You can see that 192.168.72.0/24 is announced two IP addresses.

You can do per package or per destination load balancing, I think that by default on a fast router switching is enabled, which means the load balancing is done by destination. If you want to package you can disable the quick change on the interface in question using "no ip route-cache".

  • BONES of PIX v6.3: Load Balancing Configuration

Using the new feature of balancing by OSPF, is it possible to create a parallel table of the PIX to simulate a "dynamic load balancing environment"? Please explain why or not.

If the answer is no, then, is it possible to create an environment of load balancing 'static '? How would this work? advantages and disadvantages?

    Kind regards.

Fix... You need something in front of and behind the Pix to ensure that a session is maintained through the same Pix. This can also be done by NAT.

  • Correct settings to use Smart Connect and load balancing?

    Hi guys

I have a question, the answer of which I was not able to find explicitly, so I hope a quick fix OK / not OK for you:

I would use tri-band technology provides the R8000, i.e. to activate Smart Connect / load balancing. Is - it only works Ghzs 5 band, or the router can also connect clients on the 2 Ghz bands?

If this is true, then I need to give the strip of 2, 4 GHz the SSID the same 5 Ghz band, correct?

Otherwise, if it only works in the 5 Ghz bands, I could keep the SSID distinguishes?

  • What load balancing algorithm using the LRT224?

I was wondering if anyone knew what algorithm of load balancing the LRT224 use since I can't find it anywhere and the telephone support line does not.  It is very similar to the RV320 of Cisco that uses Weighted Round Robin, but I don't think that the Linksys uses this algorithm because it includes speeds of bandwidth unlike the cisco that does not work.  and if anyone can also check that this unit doesn't package base rather than load balanced session load balancing.  as much information as possible would be appreciated!

The standard of the LRT load balancing is alternated:

    Example:

    1 TCP connection to website-online WAN1

    2 TCP connection to website2.com-online WAN2

    3 TCP connection to website2.com-online WAN1

    4 TCP connection to website1.com-online WAN2

If you enable the feature (recommended) sticky load balancing load balancing is done on a base per session instead of the base of the connection.

    Example:

    1 TCP connection to website-online WAN1

    2 TCP connection to website2.com-online WAN2

    3 TCP connection to website2.com-online WAN2

    4 TCP connection to website1.com-online WAN1

  • SRW2008 load balancing

Hi, what is the best way to balance the two connectrions with SRW2008 internet? Is possible to also "switch"?

    Thank you in advace

    Nino

Aggregation of links (sometimes called "Bundling") combines two or more physical ports into a single logical port. After that, you have only one logical port. This allows you to increase the bandwidth on a link. To use it, you must connect the ports combined in another switch/device that supports the same and has the same configuration.

So, Yes to use the aggregation of links, you'll need another switch like the SRW2008.

However, the aggregation of links isn't load balancing. The logical port is still a single connection, even if it's running on multiple threads. It must connect to the same physical device.

  • How to configure das MD3200i load balancing

I would like to connect a MD3200i (with two raid controllers) to one of our Windows 2003 R2 servers without the aid of a switch.

After most of the documentation, some things remain pretty obscure to me. I'm new to MPIO/balancing and cannot figure how to set up.

Is it possible to connect 1 nic host to RAID 0 and another host nic to RAID 1 and then combine the bandwidth? Thus having 2Gbs instead of 1Gbs? Or is it only a redundant path sollution, happening the other controller in case of failure of the first line. How can I configure this regarding the IP addresses, subnets. And where is the configuered to load balancing. This is explained in the documentation? I can't find it. I found a few examples that include the use of a switch, but none with das sollutions.

What I have is 4 the MD3200i UTP cables to connect to the host. 2 the high raid controller and 2 on the lower raid controller. And use that I have 4x1Gbs, resulting a connection 4Gbs to a single partition on the MD3200i of load balancing.

    Thanks for any help.

Multiple paths and in windows 2003 load balancing is managed by the driver MPIO is installed when you install the 'host' or 'full' version install MD Storage Manager. There is no need to separately aggregated network adapters to get the aggregate bandwidth. The pilot, by default, uses repetition alternated on all ports connected to a single controller.

Also, for a single virtual disk, all i/o through a single controller and the second controller acts as a redundant path. So, if you have 2 x 1 Gbps connections to each controller, you will have, at most, 2 Gbps for each partition. Now, each controller can have virtual disks, so the second controller may have a second partition that will also have a separate between 2 x 1 Gbps connection.

You can set IP addresses and subnets that are similar to the way that you would with a switch as long as you can test the connection port. It would be wise for each NETWORK card on the host on a different subnet and each port on the MD3200i on the corresponding subnet. This will make it easier when you set up your iSCSI.

You can use the configuration utility to MD in place your iSCSI sessions too

  • The storage load balancing process

We have a group of 4 members, total approximately 30 TB of space. In the past, we had a lot of volumes of 500 GB for ESX, after the installation of the ESXi5.1, we use higher volumes, about 1.5 TB. So there are a lot of changes in the storage pool. We find that the EQ is balancing of storage compared to 4 members as expected. We thought it was over two or three days agoo, but now he's balancing... then again for a couple of day all volumes are spread over 3 members, also, as expected, but he decides to charge storage it swings again... and again...  It is coming to an end sometimes?

We have another group with 4 members and also the same amount of space, but it we do not use the 1.5 TB volumes again... here, we see that EQ is continuous storage load balancing pool.

Im not worried yet :)), but whenever volumes are redestributing compared to members, it does not follow on some reconnects for ESX as the part of a volume can and will reside on another Member where on that time esx is not a connection to that session at that time.

    Hello René,.

It will not be stuck in a loop.  Part of the balance to the maintenance of free space between the members.  So when several pages are written to a specific member, space balancing will create plans to move the blocks to the other members to free up space on this member.  It's an ongoing balancing act.  In addition, extended periods of heavy i/o load balancer Advanced Performance will swap pages in order to compensate for the latency between members.

    Kind regards

  • Load balancing question

    Hi all

I have a question on the load balancing between several hosts of session.

We have 6 Guest session, I created a managed with a specifik balancing application rule "Session desktop host advanced remotely. last Friday, he started a few problems, but we have not made any changes.

the fist session host server had 71 active users and other servers were only 30.

    How is that possible?

Do I have to put the rule on each server load balancing?

    Hello Sander,

You must apply the rule individually for each RDSH of load balancing. Not on the managed desktop application. In our configuration, this does not work then maybe of the same counts for you.

  • Limitation of the load balancing VPN3000

    Dear all,

How many devices can be configured for balancing the load of solutions?

    What is the upper limit?

Can I assume that if configure US 2 devices, the throughput will be be200 MB, flow of four aircraft is 400 MB, etc.?

    Any thoughts?

    Best regards

    Engel

No, no, the traffic is not load balanced between all hubs in the group, that the connections are. For example, when you connect with a VPN client address bundle, concentrators determine what hub is lightly loaded, your connection is then completed and supplemented by this hub. All traffic goes between your client and the hub only, like any normal connection. There is no increase in bandwidth to this connection.

In regard to the number of devices you use, we have tested successfully with 8, but there is no theoretical limit.
