BONES of PIX v6.3: Load Balancing Configuration

Using the new feature of balancing by OSPF, is it possible to create a parallel table of the PIX to simulate a "dynamic load balancing environment"? Please explain why or not.

If the answer is no, then, is it possible to create an environment of load balancing 'static '? How would this work? advantages and disadvantages?

Kind regards.

Fix... You need something in front of and behind the Pix to ensure that a session is maintained through the same Pix. This can also be done by NAT.

    I have a pix 515e with two default routes, via OSPF from two routers on the "outside" interface

    Route #2 is currently being preferred spending much more than the #1 router. There are thousands of destinations for traffic. These two routers are still NAT nat rfc1918 IP Internet (the pix doesn't nat)

    Can you get it someone please let me know how the PIX is load balancing? is it by destination IP address? is it something else?

  • PIX / ASA - OSPF load balancing

    Hello

    I read the balance a route via OSPF equal cost load the PIX. It will send packages via per package, or is there another method for distibuting the traffic to the break following equal cost?

    Thank you!!

    Lee

    Hello Lawrence,.

    PIX 6.3 now supports the NLB using OSPF only (up to 3 default routes)

    The PIX can receive up to 3 doors by default (all the same metric) 3 different routes of entry, and

    balance the load on a per destination basis. Currently, there is no way the PIX to

    determine which carries a package will be sent to. You cannot currently use static routes

    for load balancing.

    The used hash algorithm is not simple, it is very difficult to determine which

    Route (next hop) a package will be given an IP Source and Destination pair. Basically,.

    the PIX takes the source and destination IPs (two 32-bit numbers) and axe in one

    16-bit unique number. Then the number of 16-bit (0x0000 - 0xFFFF) is divided into thirds.

    The first 1/3 goes to the door of entry 1, the next 1/3 goes to the door of entry 2, and the last 1/3 goes to

    Gateway 3.

  • Someone at - he set up the Insight Log load balancing?

    Hello

    We try to log configuration Insight in a load-balanced, and cluster configuration. After the search tirelessly for blogs, the question on this forum, or other persons who completed it and shared their installation that I found nothing. The only thing that comes close is http://sflanders.net/2014/05/01/log-insight-2-0-beta-load-balancing/ , but indicates only how it will come in a future post!

    I was going to Setup Proxy HA, but from my understanding it will not charge the way UDP traffic that newspapers Insight will want to have it transmitted information. Because we want to send more, otherwise all traffic to syslog to log Insight area, we would need to use UDP 514.

    Those who have actually set up load balancing, you followed a guide? If not, could you share how you accomplished, setting up your environment to balance between several workers?

    Any help is appreciated!

    -Patrick

    Hey Patrick,

    I just posted a more practical guide this morning: http://sflanders.net/2014/06/24/log-insight-external-load-balancer-configurations/

    You can use HAproxy, but if you need UDP, then you're right in that it will not be to your needs. If you are looking for a free/free alternative, take a look at: downloads | Load balancer Zen

    Simply place your load balancer in front of the two security servers. This is indicated on page 70 - figure 5-2.

    If you also want to allow access by internal users, and then add two replicas more connection to the server. This is indicated on page 71 - figure 5-3.

    Your reviews will connect to the alias balanced appropriate load.

  • How to configure das MD3200i load balancing

    I would like to connect a MD3200i (with two raid controllers) to one of our Windows 2003 R2 servers without the aid of a switch.

    After most of the documentation, some things remain pretty obscure to me. I'm new to MPIO/balancing and cannot figure how to set up.

    Is it possible to connect 1 nic host to RAID 0 and another host nic to RAID 1 and then combine the bandwidth? Thus having 2Gbs instead of 1Gbs? Or is it only a redundant path sollution, happening the other controller in case of failure of the first line. How can I configure this regarding the IP addresses, subnets. And where is the configuered to load balancing. This is explained in the documentation? I can't find it. I found a few examples that include the use of a switch, but none with das sollutions.

    What I have is 4 the MD3200i UTP cables to connect to the host. 2 the high raid controller and 2 on the lower raid controller. And use that I have 4x1Gbs, resulting a connection 4Gbs to a single partition on the MD3200i of load balancing.

    Thanks for any help.

    Multiple paths and in windows 2003 load balancing is managed by the driver MPIO is installed when you install the 'host' or 'full' version install MD Storage Manager. There is no need to separately aggregated network adapters to get the aggregate bandwidth. The pilot, by default, uses repetition alternated on all ports connected to a single controller.

    Also, for a single virtual disk, all i/o through a single controller and the second controller acts as a redundant path. So, if you have 2 x 1 Gbps connections to each controller, you will have, at most, 2 Gbps for each partition. Now, each controller can have virtual disks, so the second controller may have a second partition that will also have a separate between 2 x 1 Gbps connection.

    You can set IP addresses and subnets that are similar to the way that you would with a switch as long as you can test the connection port. It would be wise for each NETWORK card on the host on a different subnet and each port on the MD3200i on the corresponding subnet. This will make it easier when you set up your iSCSI.

    You can use the configuration utility to MD in place your iSCSI sessions too

    I have found information on the configuration of hubs for load-balancing and realized that. I can't find any information on how the Member devices keep their configurations in sync. Is it automatic or is it necessary to update all members manually when changes are made?

    Dennis,

    Automatic synchronization of the configuration on the hubs is not possible. You must manually synchronize the configs.

    Hello

    I am currently setting up Oracle Access Manager to work with load balancing

    I'm doing this configuration:

    In fact, I did the configuration with my browser, and I'm looking to do the same thing with a script.

    Where is the configuration stored? Domain configuration file? DB store?

    Is there a command WLST to do this config?

    Concerning

    An excerpt from wlst that will do the trick:

    domainRuntime()

    name = ObjectName ("oracle.oam", "type", "Config");

    writeSig = ["java.lang.String", "javax.management.openmbean.CompositeData"]

    oamHostKey = "DeployedComponent/Server/NGAMServer/profile/OAMServerProfile/OAMSERVER/serverhost.

    oamPortKey = DeployedComponent/Server/NGAMServer/profile/OAMServerProfile/OAMSERVER/serverport"."

    oamProtKey = "DeployedComponent/Server/NGAMServer/profile/OAMServerProfile/OAMSERVER/serverprotocol.

    MBS. Invoke (name, 'applyStringProperty', [oamHostKey, StringSettings(oamHostKey,"__myhostname__").toCompositeData (StringSettings.toCompositeType ())], writeSig)

    MBS. Invoke (name, 'applyStringProperty', [oamPortKey, StringSettings(oamPortKey,"__443__").toCompositeData (StringSettings.toCompositeType ())], writeSig)

    MBS. Invoke (name, 'applyStringProperty', [oamProtKey, StringSettings(oamProtKey,"__https__").toCompositeData (StringSettings.toCompositeType ())], writeSig)

    its dynamic and you need to worry about increasing the version number or concurrent access, etc...

  • Can someone tell me what the recommendation of Oracle is on how to best configure the load balancer?

    We are currently using the "configuration.properties" file to identify load balancing our servers, but we are curious to see if it is the recommended method to configure load balancing, or if there is a better way.

    I opened a case with Oracle support and asked the same questions - entry configuration.properties of the file servers is the only supported method used by Peoplesoft to balancing upward through 8.54.

  • Where to configure clustering: on the web server or a load balancer?

    Hi all

    a few installation questions. I read on clusters and where to set up the pool. My main goal is to reach stickness session, session failover. but I'll ask them later when I clarify below.

    If my installation is

    -> Cluster WebLogic Web server, I need to install the cluster weblogic web server plugin.

    If my installation is

    Balancer load-> cluster WebLogic, I need to configure the LB, cos the LB must meet certain criteria.

    My planned Setup is

    Webserver-> LB-> cluster WebLogic. the weblogic balancing is done at LB. I'll have to set up the LB to balance to the cluster.

    I think I'm NOT configure the weblogic on the correct Web server plugin?

    Configuring the web server is obviously a proxy directly through the lb.

    So my next qn: the configuration to the LB is to balance the weblogic cluster OR a list of all the backend .jsf page server? Assuming that my application launch page is a jsf page. Enjoy your advisor.

    (a) you have little sticky on LB. On the Web server, Weblogic Plugin will take care of permanent sessions.

    (b) Yes, you need to add to your weblogic.xml in the application. There will be no conflict. However, your heap memory usage will increase as you could store session information on two servers.

    "Circumstances and considerations should I need a LoadBalancer in front of my weblogic cluster? --

    The main reason you would use a load balancer is to keep the VIP for your application. He would charge the balance between the weservers. Also usually SSL is stopped at the level of load balancer. It helps you reach cross clutser replication etc... You can read this document... Failover and replication in a Cluster

  • Configure load balancing NETWORK for Exchange 2010

    Hello guys.

    I need help. Where I work, we have a project where we configure Exchange 2010 DAG and some other stuff, and we have 2 ESX with 1 CAD server and a Server CASE/HUB too on both of them and that we want to use the NLB on these two hosts.

    I found this, and this is much like what we want:

    http://KB.VMware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1006525

    So now our switch we want to create a virtual IP address for each of them, but we are not sure if we need to create a cluster on our servers for this.

    Did someone done this before that could give me some advice or contains information to make this work?

    Thanks for your help.

    Howdy,

    Am I was right assuming you want balancing two virtual computers CASE/Hub and NO servers DAG?  If Yes, then we are good to proceed... (if you want to do DAG servers load balancing, or if the DAG servers have all three roles, MBX/CASE/Hub, then Windows NLB is prohibited).

    You don't need to create a cluster as in MSCS or the Windows failover cluster, but do not create a pool of machines for load balancing.  You must install the components of Windows NLB on each machine virtual (VM Hub/CASE) and then follow the procedures described in this document: http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/implmenting_ms_network_load_balancing.pdf to correctly configure the ESX host.  There are two ways to configure a WNLB, using the multicast and uni-cast (by default).  Uni-cast requires configuration changes side ESX (detailed in the document), multi-cast has some dependencies upstream network, mainly adding static arp entry in the router.

    Take a read through the white book (it was written by VI3, but the same thing applies in vSphere) and let me know if you have any questions.
